Nashville Chicken Sandwich

Good food and the service was great The portions were good and the prices were decent

Busy night, all tables occupied, I was sue the wait would be long; I was wrong. We were seated right away, took about 5 minutes for a server to come by but once our food and drink were in, they rocked it! I split the Jalapeño Mac burger with my granddaughter, chose garlic parm fries as our side ($2 upgrade), burger served on a pretzel bun, cooked to medium, the Mac and jalapeño worked nicely together, but I'm sorry, the fries were disappointing. Another of us ordered the buffalo wings and said they loved em, and yet another got the ribs, side of Mac, fries and drink. I ordered the West Coast IPA which was delicious. Three servers hustled and kept customers happy, supported by a kitchen that appeared to be super efficient and good at what they do. They were pumping out the meals as the pick up window was constantly full. The decor and ambiance was something of an average nature but the mood was electric. Good job team!

This was some of the best barbecue I've had in a long time! While it was a bit unorganized when it came to getting a table, our service was pretty good. It's a smaller restaurant so keep that in mind if you're coming on a weekend, it can get pretty busy. Over all the food was delicious, drinks were good, definitely would recommend checking out!

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much after reading some of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the pulled pork fries and they were good! There was a generous amount of meat on top, super tender, and the fries stayed nice and crispy even under all that pork, which I didn't expect. We also got ribs with onion rings, more pulled pork, and sweet potato fries. The ribs were bigger than we thought they'd be, and again, they didn't skimp on the pulled pork. The onion rings and sweet potato fries were solid too though I do wish the sweet potato fries were a bit less soggy, they still had good flavor. Service was great. Our server was really friendly and checked in just the right amount not too much, not too little. The vibe inside was lively but not too loud or crowded.

Good bbq place conveniently located near where we were staying. Got the 2 item combo with brisket and pulled pork because I wanted brisket and my bf wanted the latter. I ended up liking the pulled pork more because the brisket was a little thick and on the dryer side than what I'm used to at other bbq places. For the 2 sides we got Mac and cheese with salad (ranch dressing.) the Mac and cheese was good, the ranch was a bit but noticeably watered down. Food was decent for quick and easy take out. We phoned in our order for pick up. Portions of meat are pretty huge. We couldnt finish and had the leftover meat with mac and cheese for another meal, it was a lot for just 2 people!

Food was good but the service was where it missed the mark. The place itself is quaint so no problems there - we knew what to expect coming in. Employees were not very attentive and didn't take our order for 20 minutes after we sat unfortunately, but food made up for it! Fried pickles and mashed potatoes were delish and we enjoyed the ribs and brisket a lot!

I have been wanting to try Jasper's forever and finally did. I wish I hadn't waited so long. It was delicious! I can't have gluten and they were knowledgeable and helpful. I had the barbecue bowl with shredded chicken and it was amazing! I added extra bbq sauce because it was so good and I could not get enough of it. I brought my own gluten-free bread (weird I know) and dipped it in the regular barbecue and spicy barbecue sauces. So. Darn. Good. The only drawback for me is that the fries are all battered/breaded. But it's OK. There were plenty of other.options on the menu. Our server was so nice and helpful. I really like this place and can't wait to go back.

Our server Vanesssa gave us an amazing experience!! The host was also amazing!!! Good job to the Management. The food was amazing. Ambience was beautiful outside!

Food 4/5 Staff Friendliness 2/5 Cleanliness 2/5 (Rarely see staff wash hands after performing multiple tasks then handling food) I was sitting at my table today 11/30 5:38 and a patron with a stroller needed to pass. The woman (who is always rude to me) said "would you move so they can pass." I thought that was rude as she could have just said excuse me. I come in once a week for the last couple years and she always has an issue with my brother and myself. Today she had two ponytails, black shirt, blue jeans, and glasses. This might be my last time here. I ordinarily order the BBQ bowl with mashed potatoes topped with protein, cheese, green onions and pickles. The side of cornbread is generous and enough to share. The brisket burger is runner up for my favorites. This place would be a 5 star review if staff were friendlier and cleaner

This was EXACTLY the place we were looking for. We were casual with a little girl and walked by the 2 other bbq places coming up in the Village... too fancy with a focus on beer and wine. Jaspers hit the spot!! I can't wait to go back! We felt welcome, had our choice of sitting inside or outside. Inside looked cozy but outside felt so nice as the day was so beautiful out. And service was awesome and food... omg! Outstandingly delicious!

Food was excellent and service was fast! Seating is good and the view of the village street is great. Food is well portioned and tastes amazing!

Loaded Fries

Service was lacking, but the food made up for it in parts. The barbecue brisket and loaded fries were outstanding -- definitely the highlight of the meal. We also ordered two full racks of ribs; they looked amazing but turned out a bit dry, though the kids still enjoyed them. My wife tried the pulled pork sandwich and found it salty and dry. Overall, decent food with room for improvement, especially on consistency and service.

The food was amazing, you can even smell the food from outside. We didn't wait long to be seated.

Even though some local Hawaiians have bashed this place, I don't think Tropicali is trying to be a mainland "poke salad bar." They understand what real poke is: marinated fish and rice. The bad we ordered a single topping 1/2 n 1/2 and when it came out they missed the 1/2 topping on one side. They took it back and just threw the missing topping and brought it back out. Obviously it didn't taste the same as if it was baked from the get go and was a little cold by the time they brought it back out. Now the garlic bread, just don't buy it. We ordered a two piece and I assumed it would be a half a French bread loaf. What came out was so disappointing that you could only laugh. I kid you not it looked like half a hot dog bun. Yup one side of a hot dog bun with garlic butter and a ketchup cup with sauce to dip it in. My low rating is entirely based on the customer service experience within the first few minutes of arriving. I came in with my dog, fully aware that we would need to sit outside. Since most restaurants still have you check in first, I stood at the podium where there was a sign indicating a server would check in guests. After standing there briefly, an employee asked if we wanted to sit on the patio. I said yes, and he responded by telling us to "go up the ramp." Not even in a friendly manner. Me being me I just wanted to verify that I didn't have to check in as it wasn't just myself, my party we're not all with me ..wanting to make sure I was following the correct process, I politely asked if I didn't need to check in first. His response came across as annoyed, basically repeating that he had already told us to go up the ramp. The interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive and rude. There's a difference between being direct and making guests feel unwelcome. I'm usually not someone who leaves negative reviews over one interaction, but both my husband and brother-in-law also noticed the attitude, as they were close enough to hear and it immediately made us uncomfortable enough to leave. Before leaving, I did take a quick look at the patio area and noticed it was very shaded with leaves scattered around from the wind, which didn't make the outdoor dining setup feel especially inviting either. Overall, this was disappointing because I had chosen this spot to celebrate my 30th birthday and was really looking forward to enjoying a big, delicious pancake. Unfortunately, the experience started off on the wrong foot and we decided not to stay.

There's indoor and outdoor seating. I sat outside for the view. When customers sit outside, servers are supposed to check up on them often. I know because I used to be a server. She only came out twice during the hour I was there. I wanted more napkins and was going to go inside and ask for it but I just patiently kept waiting and then finally when she came out I asked for it. At the end of my meal when I got the check, she still didn't come out, so I just went inside so I can hurry up and pay and leave because the bugs were attacking me outside. For the record, the restaurant was empty too. If it was busy, I'd understand the slow service. But it was pretty empty, like 5 tables filled, and the restaurant is big because there's indoor and outdoor seating. Also there was another older white lady (not my server) who I think might be a manager or owner, who came outside to ask the white couple sitting next to me if everything was good. It was only me and that couple sitting in the outside patio at the time because the sun had set. And after asking them she just went back inside. She never asked me how I was doing or if I needed anything. Because of that I thought she was racist but that's just my assumption. Either way, it was rude. I really did not like the service here as you can tell from this long review. Ambience: I found this place on yelp because I wanted to eat with a lake view. The view is cool. It's not WOWW. But there's not many lake view restaurant surprisingly in Big Bear. It sucked because the sun was setting on the left side, so it was behind the trees. So you couldn't see the sunset. However their lake view to the front and right is nice. I ate at De La Nonna yesterday, which also had a view. And their view is wayyyy better. So overall, view was nice. Not horrible. Not the best. But at least you get a view. Now onto my biggest ick of the night, which was worse than the service, and the reason why I will never return here or recommend this place to anyone.. the BUGS. Oh my GOD!! They were attacking me and even if you shoo them away they don't go away. And it was like 5 different types of bugs. This small little fruit fly looking one, this huge fly/bee size one, this small green mini grasshopper looking one. These bugs kept hitting my face as I was eating I had to keep slapping my face and use the napkins to keep waving them around to keep them away but it didn't work. One landed in my wine, one landed in my water, 2 landed in my salad, a bunch on my face and body. It was insane. I would think they would know this and put some type of outdoor bug zapper for the customers. Or bug traps or repellent. Anything to deter the bugs away. It ruined my experience and I couldn't even enjoy the view because I was too busy slapping and killing these bugs. This place has potential but it's not it. I'm just glad my salad tasted good so at least I had a satisfying meal. If my food sucked I would've been PISSED at the whole experience. I'm giving it a 2 star for the salad and decent view.
