Not a bad option for pho on the west side - quiet, friendly knowledgeable service. The food itself was good but I'd still venture out to explore other options as well. They did have lots of carry out happening which always says a lot. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish? I'd like to try their sandwiches next. read more

Knowing in my heart that I was Asian in a past life, I can't get enough of sautéed vegetables, rice, or rice noodle soups; having said that, the Pho Bar leaves a little to be desired. My lunch mate & I were about to chew off our arms, so we ordered spring rolls to start. While I thought they were delicious, especially the peanut sauce, rice noodles, iceberg lettuce, & a piece of cucumber, wrapped in rice paper do not a spring roll make. I had the vegetable pho with fried tofu, which was totally fine but just nothing to write home about. It was not served with the usual accoutrements of bean sprouts, lime, cilantro, and basil, but a quick request scored me some lime and cilantro. My lunchmate had the crispy noodle special with tofu (pictured), which was served on a cute birds' nest of noodles. Definite points for presentation, but he, too, said that while it was OK, it wasn't anything to get excited about. In summary, the food was just OK. If you want food that will knock your socks off, keep looking. read more

I love how close this place is to my work. I normally call in my order & it's ready in less than 10 minutes. Delicious spring rolls & banh mih! The staff were very friendly as well. read more

Really love this place and order from here fairly often through DoorDash. Came in person this morning to pick up some Pho since my husband and I have been battling the flu for the last few days. Walked in and the gentleman who "greeted" me , Pedro, was less than friendly. If anything, he acted like I was more of an annoyance than a patron. Very flat personality, took my order then without saying anything, went and sat at the bar after he ran my card. Couldn't bother with small talk or anything; his vibe definitely made me feel unwelcomed. Looks like we'll be trying out other Pho joints after this. read more

Hands down the best place to get pho on this side of town! Friendly and timely service every time!! Would highly recommend!

By far my favorite Pho location in Rio Rancho. Staff is always exceptional and the food always leaves us satisfied. No. 30 pho bowl is my go to favorite and the Springs rolls never disappoint. Give this place a try. read more

Really good! The pho was delicious. The service was prompt. Hopefully we can go back soon.

Usually very good. Went in for a take out order. Gave my order, paid for it they brought it out all packaged up. I left got home. Wrong order. I called them and explained wrong order. He said yeah, "YOU" grabbed the wrong order"" NO he brought out the wrong order. He asked me what did I want to do. I explained that I live more than 10 miles away. I wasnt going to drive all the way back. He should not have asked me what I wanted to do. It's simple, you refund back to my card. It was a $35.00 mistake on their part. I understand that it was an honest mistake. I just think he should have offered a refund. read more

First time taking out. How do you eat Vermicelli without fish sauce? Shouldn't it be an automatic container for to go?

Great food but I hate that you have to go to the restaurant and wait there for to go orders because they never pick up their phone or use any type of app. read more

The best and most fresh Vietnamese food in the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area. This is another restaurant to not be fooled by its location. It's located in a strip mall in a rather desolate shopping (behind the Planet Fitness Gym on Southern Blvd.). The restaurant lacks ambience and could definitely use some TLC and upgrading; so I would recommend take out. But the food!.... oh my goodness. I've eaten here on numerous occasions and I have to say every visit has delivered fresh, crisp, Vietnamese food. My usual order consists of fresh shrimp spring rolls as my appetizer. Rolls are about 6" long and filling with three medium sized shrimp. Always so fresh you can bite into the rice paper without trouble and the veggies are crisp and cool. I also order the vermecelli noodle dish with chicken. Protein portions are generous and fresh (not salty, not over cooked). Accompanying veggies to the dish are also crisp, cool and fresh. I've ordered the dish with shrimp once; however, beware, they serve their shrimp so fresh that it comes with the legs. I wasn't a fan because it took longer for me to peel the shrimp body parts off and I lost my appetite after, so I'll stick to the chicken. For dessert, I order the avocado shake with boba. It's always a refreshing drink to accompany my meal as it is not too sweet, icy cold, and easy to drink. I've tried the coconut and lychee shakes as well but I prefer less sweetness so I recommend the avocado. Since I find myself here once every two weeks, I'll convince myself to be more adventurous and try a new dish. More reviews to come! read more

We love Vietnamese food and have been looking for a place since we moved here. Wanted to like this place. The front windows were dirty. The glass doors were smeared--they haven't been cleaned in a long time. The floors needed mopped. We sat on a booth in the raised middle of the dining area. We didn't notice until after we ate that the wooden ledge on the edge of the booth was dusty the entire length of the booths. We could write our name in it. The wait staff were very young and friendly. Service was good. But they all had beautiful long hair that hung loose and tossed around the food. The food was okay. Too much salt and not enough flavor. We've had much better. The sauce on the noodle dish seemed watery. The pho was okay but the meat tasted livery. Broth was nice. Condiments in the table had dried drips and smears on the bottles. Chair backs need wiped. Tables were a bit filmy. Nothing was filthy but nothing was clean. As we walked out we noticed the glass over the frozen paletas case was covered in streaks and fingerprints. The bar needed wiped. There was a ball cap on the bar. Whose head had that cap been on? The restaurant felt like it was a neglected child that maybe had never been truly loved. Too uncared for, too dirty, food too mediocre. We're still looking for good Vietnamese food. read more

This Pho Bar seems to have survived the sad strip mall state. It is one of the best places to get Pho in the area and the service is always top notch. You get so much food for your $$ that you leave full and with leftovers. They have fresh coconuts which I often pair with pho and get some spring rolls. Inexpensive and high quality! read more

Resonably priced food with good service. We eat a lot of Vietnamese, as we live in the international neighborhood of Atlanta, and Pho Bar is on par with some of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Atlanta. Foot long banh mi for 5.00? Whaaaaat? Their pho broth is out of this world flavorful, and their bun bowl was good (the spicy fish sauce was a suprise, but was actually really yummy once the noodles were mixed in). My pork was a little overcooked, but that became a non-issue once the sauce was mixed in. The cha gio (fried spring rolls) were REALLY flavorful and delicious, and the Goi Cuon were good. Their green tea was surprisingly good, and I liked the "personal sized" tea pots. This is a great no frills Vietnamese at its finest. If you're ever in Rio Rancho, I highly suggest eating a meal here. read more

Update: We only go here for Vietnamese food now. We crave the beef spring rolls like FIENDS. That food is perfect every time, even when we order take out. They won us over and they deserve our business. Thanks you guys!! read more

Love this place!! It was my first time ever trying vietnamese food and also trying pho. It was delicious!! And I will be going back for more! I ordered the egg rolls, tofu pho and my son had the shrimp udon noodles. The egg rolls were nice, hot and crunchy!! You could tell that they were made with real pork. The tofu pho was good, the vegetables in my pho still had bite to them which I loved! The udon noodles had a really flavorful broth. The portions were big. The food was cheap. So win win. read more

Pho Bar - Egg rolls, shrimp spring roll and the #30 - Vietnamese Near Me - Rio Rancho, New Mexico

I love Pho Bar, and get takeout from here maybe once a week. I have sampled a lot from their menu and they have so many things that are good - I'll list the item numbers, I hope they help! Their Pho broth is probably one of my favorites between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. I always get their 31 Rare Pho and it never disappoints. They also have a really good Banh Mi Sandwich, and I would recommend the 6. Grilled Pork Version. Their 4. Egg Rolls are amazing and with a bit of Siracha and Hoisin as a dip and I'm in Heaven For rice dishes their 48 - Grilled New York Beef is great and so is the 49 - Grilled Beef Short Ribs. They remind me of a Korean Galbi ribs. read more

My wife and I were nervous moving to ABQ since we really like pho and were spoiled by Northern Virginia. Well, little did we know there was quite a lot of top notch places in ABQ (and Rio Rancho). Pho Bar is certainly one of them! Nice atmosphere (especially for a pho place) and most importantly, really good pho. My wife went for her usual Pho Bo Tai (rare beef) and it was top notch. The broth was flavorful without being *too* rich nor too sweet. And they had a large selections of sides such as an egg. Always a nice way to customize. I decided to venture out a little bit and go for Pho Ga (chicken). I do not have a lot of experience with Pho Ga since I so often go for beef, but I was not disappointed. The broth was similarly spiced with a little less richness but not in a bad way at all. I was initially disappointed in the amount of chicken but it turns out, there was a good bit of it under the noodles. In the end, it was actually a generous portion! This is, more of less, our new standard place for pho. Oh, and it was *really* inexpensive too! read more

My sister ordered some pho here, she reported that it was very good. I had a couple shrimp spring rolls, they were very good and the dipping sauce was perfect. It was ordered to go. Arrived pretty quickly and it was tasty so I think we will try this place again in the future. read more

Probably the best-tasting pho noodle served in the entire Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area. We have never been disappointed every time we visit this Vietnamese restaurant. If you are into pho noodles, I highly recommend the medium sized pho with beef brisket. If you pay a couple of bucks more, you can add some tasty shrimp into this beef brisket pho. Absolutely out of this world! Also, their fried egg rolls are simply super as an appetizer. There are four pieces in a small dish. Sufficient for two people. read more

Pho Bar - Vietnamese Near Me - Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Love, love, love! I think my husband and I frequent The Pho Bar at least twice a month, if not more! All I can comment on is the pho because it is so good I've never tried anything else. My favorite is the vegetable pho with the traditional beef broth, but instead of the tofu I substitute with chicken. Fresh, crisp veggies and chicken with all the fixings takes me to soup heaven every time! Try it, I dare ya! You won't be disappointed! My husband has tried all the different meats, but his favorite is the round eye steak pho. On top of great food, the owner and staff are so polite and very hard working. I love supporting a family owned business! I can't lie I'm bummed it's closed on Sunday's, but it's a family business so it makes sense! Don't think twice about coming to this place. Just do it! read more

I stopped on in and placed a To Go Order. Large portions, but the food is just terrible. I ordered a Hu Tieu Dac Biet (Chicken Noodle) with Banh Hu Tieu (Thick wide rice noodles) and an order of Nem Nuong Cuon (Grilled Pork sausage summer rolls). Lets start with the Hu Tieu Dac Biet. The broth literally taste like it comes from cans of chicken stock. Lacks flavor and depth and is only one dimensional. The broth is not aromatic at all. For the Noodles, they gave me plain Pho Noodles -- fine okay. For the toppings, I had cilantro, green onions, crisp garlic, boiled sprouts, jalapeno, lime and Sliced pork, crab claw, and shrimp. Nothing about this soup dish is redeeming. It was plane as Jane and a little insulting. Onto the summer rolls, the peanut sauce was pasty and they literally just give you one long sliver of pork sausage that goes across the rice paper. I see that they tried and add some egg roll crisps that are inside the summer roll; however, the ratio to vermicelli noodles to meat to herbs were off. Next time I'm driving the extra mile either to Viet Noodle or to Hakata for my Vietnamese Fix. read more

Was happily surprised by the authentic taste of the food and the heat of the pho that really makes a difference to the experience. The strip mall location was easy to find and had plenty of parking. Upon entering, the overall atmosphere was very nice with the bold black and red motif and decor. We chose to sit in the raised middle section with booth seating, between the bar section and the other side with a few booths and larger tables. As we chose our booth, we were presented with the menus and greeted by our server. As we looked at the menu, we noticed the nice smell of the restaurant that reminded me of what good pho restaurants should smell like. We started with an order of #17 Cha Gio aka Vietnamese Fried Pork Egg Rolls and they were freshly fried and served hot with all the right fixings including the fish sauce dip and veggies. We then got Thai Iced Teas and ordered a medium bowl of combination Pho #30 and #50 Com (rice) combo with grilled pork for the meat selection and broken rice option. The pho was a great quantity with savory broth and served hot hot with the traditional side plate of veggies and lime. The rice plate was one of the combos that came with a bean curd sheet shrimp roll, bowl of chicken broth, grilled shrimp, thinly shredded pork, fish sauce with carrots and daikon, and a fried egg. Everything was tasty, flavorful, and actually captured the authentic flavors of each dish. Great meal and the service was wonderful, attentive, and friendly. read more

I came to this place based on a great recommendation from a coworker. His lunch look so good I had to check it out for myself. First of all, I like the detailed website. Everything I saw was interesting. I had people looking over my shoulders oohing and ahhing as I viewed it. I placed a large order over the phone. 2 types of soups, avocado shake, lychee shake, 2 different spring rolls orders and a grilled pork plate. Every thing was tasty and as I expect Vietnamese food to be; very healthy! I live on the Westside of ABQ but I will be going way out to Rio Rancho again for my dinner here! read more

I've lived in the neighborhood for years and just a few weeks ago I decided to try it on my evening walk. I almost hate myself for not trying it sooner. The picture on the outside window of the pork and shrimp noodle bowl drew me in. I wasn't disappointed, best thing I have had in awhile and I felt really good after I ate it. Loved the eggrolls as well, the sauce to dip them in is very fresh and something I've never used as a "dip." Since the first time I walked in, I was amazed by the friendly service and atmosphere. I've come back once a week, and sometimes twice in a week. I've tried the pho as well, more than once. I think I'm addicted to that as well! Only thing I would suggest they improve on is advertising (I watched them open and I just tried it in February 2014!) and maybe cut down on the number of menu items available. This place is extremely good, will be back soon. Went yesterday but today is more like pho weather. So I guess I need to go in there again. read more

I have heard many good things of this place and it was a good experience. I ordered shrimp and pork spring rolls and a small bowl of rare steak Pho. The spring rolls were made fresh, but could have been rolled more tightly as they fell apart on me. Their peanut sauce is pretty tasty! The Pho was just okay, my noodles were over-cooked and turned to mush in my mouth. Eep! I feel it also could have had more onions. The meat was sliced really thin, which was nice and the veggies were fresh! The customer service is outstanding. I will return to try a different dish and hopefully be able to update my review! read more

My husband and I come here most Fridays for our dinner date night. I love all their dishes here and love the service. If I'm not feeling well, first thing I do is order some pho from here. The food is always fresh and they always accommodate my custom orders. I've been on the keto diet and get steamed veggies instead of rice. My favorite meal here is the black pepper catfish. My husband has been eating at this restaurant since it was Cafe Trang in Albuquerque. They absolutely have the best spring rolls ever made. read more

First experience at Pho Bar didn't leave a good impression, it was late and the service staff seemed bothered that I was there, the Pho was plain and not memorable and I wasn't sure if it or something else I ate later disagreed with me, so I didn't bother going back for a little over a year. I tried them again this past week and was much happier with the result, there are plenty of choices of meats in the Pho, three difference sizes and the service staff was helpful and friendly. I will definately go back. My wife had the Filet Mignon Pho and my taste test of the meat was outstanding, I had the more traditional selection of eye round, brisket, tendon sans tripe (not sure why anyone eats tripe) and sans meatball. It was good. The next closest Pho place is Siagon 2 which I think has better tasting broth, but much less options for meat in it. Thumbs up! read more

Ordered the small pho bowl with brisket and it was amazing and more than enough food for 1 person. The broth is tasty and definitely has some character. The bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and jalapeños def make the dish pop. I also recommend the bahn mi sandwich with poet! It was so freaking good. The jalapeños were spicy but then you get the sweet taste of the pork and it makes delightful. Updated with photos. read more

Nothing positive to say about this place because I did not even get the opportunity to try it. Went in around dinner time and the place was at about 75% capacity. No hosts were in sight. After about 10 minutes a guy pops out from the back and says that they are extremely backed up in the kitchen and it would be close to an hour to seat us. He then goes on to say that he doesn't recommend we wait around if we are in a hurry to eat. So my party of 4 along with another party of 8 who was also waiting, walked out. I can't say much about the food, but their business philosophy and customer service are garbage. Who in the right mind turns away 12 people (easily $120 in revenue)? And also why do they not have more cooks to accommodate the large crowds? Sadly, many good businesses tank because people simply do not have the knowledge of how to run them correctly. I might consider giving this place another shot just based on the reviews, but I am going to wait until a while. read more
