I got the V1 recommended Pho and my girl got the Pad Thai. It was my first Pho so I can't really compare, but I'd say the Pad-Thai is just as good if not BETTER than Basil restaurant. My husband and I were glad to see a Pho restaurant come to West Ashley, and Pho & Padthai came highly recommended from several friends. The restaurant is in the back of a strip mall/center and was a pizza place previously. It's small, but the restaurant uses the space effectively, and it reminded me of the small Izakaya restaurants in Japan. There's enough room for seating if you want to eat in, as well as outdoor seating, and they offer takeout. My husband started with the shrimp spring rolls and the chicken satay. I planned to eat some spring rolls, but it turns out they include BOTH pork and shrimp. The menu says the meat options are chicken, pork and shrimp OR veggie. He tasted the pork in the spring rolls before I had one, so I opted out (pescatarian) and said they were good but that the chicken satay and peanut sauce were both bland. I had the Shrimp Papaya Salad, and my husband had the Pho. I got my Shrimp Papaya Salad medium, and I would advise you to be cautious with the spice level because even at medium, it was pretty hot. My husband's Pho was good but the portion was small. We both expected larger portions for the money, as my salad only had three shrimp in it. This spot is pretty new, the workers were nice, and the entrees themselves were good, so I won't write it off. Just remember the portions are small, so order accordingly. read more

We have been here so many times and every visit was a great experience. Met the owner. She was so nice friendly and attentive. It's a tight fit inside so get in early or be prepared to sit outside at the picnic tables. Try everything!! All the food is great. Haven't receive a plate we didn't love. It's hard finding good pho in Charleston, but this place has it! I decided to try something new and got the Bun Bo hue. It was a mix between pho and a noodle bowl. Lots of flavor! They have the chili oil and Szechuan oil that they bring to the table along with extra hoisin and Sriracha. I even got the Thai milk Boba tea, which came in a large, hard plastic to go cup. Inside there are about 10 tables and even bar top along the windows. I think they might be a little understaffed or the staff is just newer, but I would love to come back here for takeout. read more

Came in the other night and it was pretty crowded, with people waiting inside the door to takeout orders, etc. The space is cute, but definitely on the small side. The staff was friendly and after a couple of minutes, we were seated on a picnic table outside, as it was full inside. Server came quickly to take our order - the menu is pretty large with a nice variety of options to choose from. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and medium spice. Order was correct, didn't take too long for it to arrive. It was good, but definitely a little higher than medium on the spice level. It wasn't the best that I've had, but it was solid. Absolutely loved the broth in their tonkatsu ramen! Warm, creamy, buttery smooth, and flavorful broth that compliments the usual contents of pork, noodles, egg, etc. Our server was also awesome and accommodating with getting an outdoor table, because the only downside for me was how smokey it was in there and my sensitivity to it. Maybe some improved interior ventilation would be a boon for inside dining. Don't let that discourage you from enjoying anything here because take-outs seemed like a very popular option as well. I had the pad Thai with tofu and I appreciate that they ask how you would like the tofu: steamed or fried (fried please!). They also asked about spice level and I had the hottest, which wasn't too hot for me but I really do enjoy spicy food. The owners / staff were very friendly and made sure everything went well. While there's room for take out on this menu, a lot of items are better enjoyed fresh at the restaurant. The drinks are next level good. The servers combine hustle with good suggestions and warmth. The dining room is seat yourself and small- but clean and comfortable. Good music too and fresh flowers. Picnic tables on sidewalk. The Thai tea was 10 outta 10. Arnold Palmer w fresh tea and lemonade was also on point. Pad Thai was solid. Chili tray was fantastic- those chilis in fish sauce took everything up a couple notches! Even though this place has been open for less than 2 weeks, Ms. Tee runs a wonderful establishment. From the customer service, to the food, This place Will make you want to eat out at least 3 times a week. Its also nice when they remember your face. The pho was good although I'm very picky because my dad makes it spectactularly well so wouldn't get it again personally but I know my boyfriend would. I ordered the pho even though it was expensive, thinking there must be a reason for the price. The menu mentions that the broth is simmered for 24 hours, so I expected something more rich and flavorful. Unfortunately, it wasn't any different from other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. The broth didn't taste particularly deep, and the bowl size was surprisingly small for the price. I honestly couldn't understand what justified the cost. If someone asked whether I would come back, I probably wouldn't. It felt very overpriced for what was served. read more

The Curry dish I had was green curry with fried tofu and loved the texture of the tofu. The curry was rich with flavor and it lasted me 2 meals. Had the V3 brisket Pho and A4 Fresh Basil Roll with beef. Both were excellent. Pho: lovely broth base, proper amount of herbs, additional veggies were very fresh and the brisket was melt in your mouth tender. Fresh Basil Roll: never had beef or basil in a roll before. Peanut sauce was very good. Beef was sliced, very tender and the basil was delicious. Not sure if fresh rolls will be the same without basil from now on. This place is small but good. From the parking lot I thought it was only take out. As I walked in I realized that they had a few tables and we were seated quickly.
