Overall one of my favorite restaurant experiences ever! The interior look is so creative and quirky. The yuzu cocktail is amazing and you must order the Cajun spice bag. The service was A+. All around a restaurant we will have to visit regularly!
this will definitely become my go to spot. i loved it. our servers micheal, was the best. so so nice, he gave us our dessert on the house. the atmosphere was fun too! i got the garlic noodles and they were perfection. no complaints about the food. the only thing i'd say is that they need to work on there presentation for the ice cream!
I was apprehensive to try this place bc so many reviews said they were not vegetarian friendly. I did not find that at all in my experience. Went on a Sunday afternoon. The place is smaller so I suggest reservations. We had them but didn't need them. Greeted warmly by the only server (that did not affect the service, he was very attentive). Spicy margarita was excellent. I had the veggie dumplings and OG ramen with tofu and mushrooms. Nice flavor. My husband loved his chicken and spicy lamb dumplings. My son got the kids garlic noodles that were so basic but delicious. Like a Vietnamese cacio e Pepe. Kid friendly: 2 kid options and highchairs
Whenever we have people over for big dinners or any cooking, we are doing for any special events. I do half restaurant food and half cooking at home and it's been a success. So for my Birthday dinner I wanted some food from here. I keep seeing pictures of the noodles that everyone was speaking of I had no idea what the pink stuff was come to find out. It was pickled onions, but I have to be honest they were so good. At least 4 people, ate out of them It was a lot of flavor it tastes very fresh and you can taste every ingredient. Because the taste buds were jumping. We got there when they first opened so there was no one there. I will definitely be back. I also tried the lamb noodles. Sorry. I forgot the actual name, but they had kind of a funky pickled taste to him, I assume it was the sauce but if you love lamb and Asian food, you're definitely going to love it, but I was definitely blown away by the noodles who would ever think to finish it off with parmesan cheese. It was a great addition.There are several other things I want to try.Based on yelp pictures and the menu , I will be there soon. Now , everybody on 3. 1....2....3....HAPPY BDAY ME!!!!!!

But this trendy spot has an Interesting take on Vietnamese menu items including a Pho flavored cocktail however I was not too bold. I ordered fried crispy spring rolls with lettuce wraps and dipping sauce. They were a fresh and tasty item. They had 3 different flavors but they all tasted non distinct to me. I also drank a classic Vietnamese drop iced coffee and it hit the spot. It's a unique and interesting spot in Charleston and at least worth a visit.
STILL our favorite take out spot. The chicken garlic noods are to die for. Always consistently delicious! Do yourself a favor and get your tastebuds ready for flavor! The KFC wings and General Gerry's chicken are also very good, probably crispier in person but overall the travel from downtown to Mount Pleasant has been great!!
My wife and I recently went here for a weekend dinner and had a solid experience. We came without a reservation and were seated immediately. Pink Bellies' ambiance was casual and unassuming. Pink Bellies is extremely Americanized Vietnamese food-there were plenty of butter and dairy in the dishes, atypical of Vietnamese cuisine. It was also hard to order anything on the menu that was healthy, as most everything was fried in some way or had red meat/butter. Despite the restaurant being empty, our dishes took longer than would be expected to come out. My wife and I shared the fried brussels sprouts, which were outstanding. They were perfectly cooked, and had amazing flavor and spice (also not salty). I got the hot and spicy chicken noodles for my main, which were OK but too rich for my liking.

Pho Mai Burger: 3/5 Not my favorite. The bun was dry and crumbly, and it could've used a bit more flavor overall. OG Garlic Noodles: 4/5 Were good, but tasted better as leftovers the next day. The noodles were warm, onions were cold, and the pork was room temp when served, which threw me off. Also the pork lacked flavor. But again great next day.
I'm still thinking about how flavorful this meal was! I absolutely loved the view we had from our table and the overall vibe was very cool and aesthetic. The only reason I'm giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is because our server was new and forgot a few things and the menus we received had food on them so that was off-putting to start off. If you're in Charleston and craving something bold, flavorful, and totally unique then come to Pink Bellies. Everything we tried was packed with that addictive sweet-salty-spicy balance, and you can really taste the authentic Vietnamese influence in every dish. We started with the Spicy Lamb Pierogi Dumplings, which were unlike anything I've had before. The Sủi Cảo Dumplings were perfectly plump with pork and shrimp, swimming in a delicious smoked chili oil sauce. The noodle dishes stole the show, especially the OG Garlic Noodles with pulled pork, parm, and a perfect hit of sriracha. The Hot & Spicy Chicken Noodles had just the right amount of kick and richness. We had to try the Phô Mai Burger, juicy, cheesy, and full of texture with crispy shallots and onion jam. The cocktails were super creative and surprisingly delicious, and the atmosphere was modern and vibey. Definitely not your typical Vietnamese menu, but so worth checking out.
My first impression of Pink Bellies is how nicely decorated and designed it is. I love that it's right on King Street for convenience. My friends and I ordered the avocado fries and KFC garlic wings (phone did not eat first). The wings were perfectly glazed in garlic sauce and crunchy! I then ordered the OG garlic noodles that are a must order. The noodles are soft and flavored to perfection. The bowl is dressed in siracha which adds a great kick. The pulled pork on top is soft and melts in your mouth! Highly recommend
Came here for a quick meal. I had the OG garlic noodles. I liked the texture of the noodles and the toppings mixed well with the pork to make a rather tasty dish, but not sure I'd go out of my way to get this again! Still I was pretty happy I tried this!
One of the best Asian restaurants in Charleston. We loved everything including the service. The avocado bites are light and delicious. The wings were outstanding and we saved the sauce to enhance the noodle dishes. We tried XO the night before and feel that Pink Bellies was a better experience.

Absolutely amazing! Came by on a Thursday around 7pm with a few friends and had a great time. It wasn't busy and the service was amazing - all the employees were attentive and very helpful. The prices are pretty good, the portion sizes are good, and everything tasted amazing. I also loved the ambiance of the restaurant, its dim and the decor is really cute. read more

If you love Parmesan, garlic and pickled onions then the OG garlic noodles is your dish. General Gerry's chicken was also delish. The chicken was crispy and sauce was the perfect sweet, salty and mildly spicy combo. We picked up the food and had a picnic at Marion Square, which is just a short walk away. It is SO much food. I saw they had soft shell crab burger and HAD to go. The Og garlic noodles were soo soo good too - super creamy and the pickled onions balance out the taste. We just absolutely loved the food and would come again every softie season! read more
Popped in for a quick bite and have heard a lot about this place. Very cute and vibrant place with lots of pink! I was greeted quickly and sat right away when I walked in. The servers were all very helpful and seemed to work well together. I asked about the sweetness in the hot n spicy noodles, he did tell me that it is very buttery sweet and not that spicy. I did end up asking for less sauce during the preparation. I started off with the Sui cao pork dumplings. This was a solid 5/5, good texture and chew, loved all the scallions on top and the sauce that went with it. I pretty much drank it all lol! I decided to try the hot n spicy chicken noodles. Upon seeing them I was definitely excited to dig in. For my personal preference I like my stir fried noodles to be more Al dente so these were a bit over cooked and too soft, especially with how much sauce was coated on them. The initial flavor with the savory, buttery and sweetness was good. But it's one of those dishes that the flavors got very overwhelming after a handful of bites. It was just SO rich and I understand that is what they were going for. So for me I liked the components of this dish, but for my personal preference I didn't enjoy it as much because of how rich and sweet it was. Like my lips felt very greasy the whole time eating it. Overall I would still give it a 4/5 because it still had good flavors. I've had the OG garlic noodles togo with the pork before and I really enjoyed those. The pickled onions did it for me because the acidity really complemented the other flavors. I think having those onions in the other noodle dish could've helped with how rich the flavors were as well. I know this place is definitely going for that elevated yet eccentric take on Vietnamese food so if you're looking for something different this is a great place. If you're looking for a more classic and traditional approach on Vietnamese food, this would not be the place. But overall, a solid menu and service. read more
My first restaurant while visiting, we stopped in as soon as they open without a reservation and was sat immediately. The host, who was also our waiter came over promptly and checked on us from time to time I think the place is very cute, yet small. But picture worthy. To start I ordered a limeade, which was extremely tart, it tasted like squeeze limes and water. I would never order that again. For an appetizer, I got the spicy lamb dumplings. They were very flavorful. I enjoyed them a lot. They just weren't hot when they came out kinda just warm. The strange part is that smoke was coming from it. For my entree I ordered the garlic OG noodles in which I added grilled chicken too. Not really realizing that the grilled chicken was gonna be chicken thigh. To which I don't like, I ended up picking that off and that's when I found out those garlic noodles did not come to play 10 out of 10 do recommend. Lastly, I got a strawberry Matcha, which has been by far the best one I've ever had. When I come back to town I'm definitely coming back here. read more

Our first time in Charleston and we found such a great little spot. We made sure to make a reservation as the restaurant's seating is limited inside and we were taken immediately. We sampled a lot like the fried avocado, the dumplings, general Gerry's chicken, and the og noodles with poached eggs add on. We were so happy with our choices as everything was super delicious and we left feeling so full we wobbled back to our hotel. This is a definitely must check out in Charleston as it was uniquely authentic and delicious. read more

STAPLE: Garlic Noods. This alone will have you coming back. Bevvie: Nuoc Mam cocktail We eat in, order take out, its good anywhere! They have a rotating menu as well so plenty of things to try if you visit often. I am so bummed I missed the ink banh xeo so I have been waiting for that to come back! They had great Kuai Teow. My only cons are 1- I got a dish once that was way to salty and when I told the server, she said to our "People like it salty" and walked away... that was awkward. 2- The Pho Mai Burger is a tricky name- thought it would be like Pho, but our server told us it's a play off "Fromage" for cheese... Pink Bellies has an adorable, eclectic atmosphere and absolutely amazing food. You will need a reservation, as it's a popular spot. The menu isn't huge but it is very well done! They have veggie options, such as veggie dumplings or you can get the garlic noodles with tofu instead of pork. This is the best place we've eaten at in Charleston so far. The flavors were amazing! The mushrooms dumplings were so good, I could've drank the sauce they came in. And the OG garlic noodles were insane. Adding parmasean was an interesting choice but it worked so well! I love the type of mushroom they used, and it was very garlicky. YUMMM. For drinks, I tried the Thai tea martini. I loved the foam on top, but the drink itself was okay. I didn't think the thai tea flavor came through very strong. I highly recommend checking this place out! read more
Small restaurant with unique lighting. The dishes are not quite fine dining, but excellent still the same. Service, and receiving food is fast, perhaps a bit too fast as we were able to complete our meal in about 40 minutes, as our main dishes were served before finishing our appetizers. We started with delicious Spicy Lamb Dumplings served with Bamboo (which I don't remember ever eating before), Cilantro, in a spicy, smoked Dumpling Sauce with Chili Oil. We could not decide on a second appetizer, so we split a main dish of Spicy Garlic Lo Mein. This is an Egg Noodles dish with very Crispy broccoli Rob, Celery, and possibly yellow squash in a spicy Oyster Sauce. The wife finally found a Lo Mein dish she likes better than the one she got in Charlotte NC over 10 years ago Being that it is the season, we each ordered a Soft-Shell Crab Bun Mi. The crab is served on a very large Milk Bun, with slightly sweet Pickles. The Crab was cooked perfectly, however there was just too much Tartar Sauce which overpowered the crab. The wife decided to eat her crab without the massive bun, while at the same time removing as much of the Tatar sauce as she could. I debated deducting 1 start for the over sauced, sandwich, but since this is just a seasonal special, and the other dishes were so great, I gave a full 5. Pink Bellies might be your best option, if you are low on time, but still looking to get outstanding food read more

I have dined here a few times and I do enjoy it each time.. good portions and I always leave happy. Last time I was there got the burger with two extra patties on it. Yes four patty burger. It was good but was hoping more of an Asian flair in it. General tsao chicken is delicious. The venue itself is quite small but normally don't have too hard of a time getting a seat. Outside of having quite possibly the best burger in town (that we foolishly ordered as a 4x4), Pink Bellies offers a wide variety of dishes that anyone can enjoy. Outside of the burger I would recommend the General Gerrys chicken and the OG Garlic Noodles, but really, you can't go wrong with anything here. The staff was helpful in helping us choose some drinks to go along with our meal, however the service was somewhat slow - especially for the amount of people that were in the restaurant at the time. Thankfully I had good company so I didn't mind that much, and we also piled on the food. I would go back again - and I have! I've actually gone back since I took these pictures but it was for pickup. Was a little disappointed at this spot. Went by myself and they put me in this bar seating area that faced just stacks of togo boxes, lids, chopsticks etc. which isn't the end of the world, but there were plenty of other tables. Not to mention the chair not being adjustable and was a tight squeeze to the table. I ordered the Sui Cao Dumplings as an appetizer and then the Spicy Garlic Lo Mein for my main dish. The dumplings came out like 2 minutes before they brought out the main dish - which could've been timed better. The dumplings were warm at best and looked like they came from the freezer. I asked for chili oil for the dumplings but by the time it came, I had maybe 1-2 left. For a dish to be named Spicy Garlic, it had none of that. The dish was instead sweet with the celery and onions not cooked all the way and still raw. I'm assuming they wanted to add some texture to the dish by throwing it in at the end. IMO I thought the celery and onion would've added enough texture even if they were cooked in addition to the Chinese broccoli. I think the ideas are there for it to be really good, just could use better execution. It also could just be I caught a bad day. read more
Sooo good! Pink Bellies is an adorable little space with great service and delicious food. The talk of the menu is the OG Garlic Noodles, but hot take - I liked the hot and spicy chicken noodles more! Don't get me wrong, the garlic noodles were great (and presented beautifully). But the hot and spicy chicken noodles were basically perfect. They were spicy, savory, and nutty. The chicken in the dish just fell apart. Cocktails are great too!! One that had Pho in the name tasted like ramen noodles, in a good way. The Thai iced tea cocktail with condensed milk was also yummy. Super unique cocktail menu. read more

James was our server and he was AMAZINGGG!! I was part of a bachelorette trip and the restaurant went above and beyond to make it a special event. The food came out very very quick. The vibes were nice in the place, it was pretty small. The sake options were not very tasty, but I enjoyed the food. The food was pretty tasty. It was a breath of fresh air to have an Asian restaurant with unique flare in a city best known for its seafood. I am a spicy food lover and the spicy chicken noodles had me perspiring lol. I love the Thai mar-tea-ni and the passion fruit margaritas flavor was perfect. The only reason I have to give this place 3 stars is because the service was incredibly slow, which made no sense because the restaurant was only halfway filled and they did not appear understaffed. The vibes were pretty low and did not seem like the right place chosen for a large group. It's more of a casual lunch spot imo. read more

We were coming in 10 minutes late to our reservation due to parking issues but our server was super accommodating and held our table. He was super fun to be around and made the experience great. The staff were awesome and service was exceptional! I was definitely worried before coming here because some people had mentioned serving sizes but we had so much leftovers and each had super cute to go containers when we left.
