I started with the pork dumplings (gyoza), which were perfectly cooked tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. For my main, I had the Pho Thai Palm noodle soup, and it was outstanding. The broth was rich and aromatic, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-balanced. It's the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they take pride in both their food and their service. This review is based on UberEats experience. I love that they give me utensils! Chopsticks, fork, spoon, and napkins. I am saying this because other places haven't. Also, I like that they packed the items really nicely. Chicken wings are delicious. Very meaty and moist with basic seasoning. The sweet and sour dipping sauce is a great compliment. For main entree, I got pad thai with level 3 spice level out of 5. It's not really spicy, I could handle more. But great flavor and the noodles are not clump together. I pass by here all the time, but never been here. I finally decided to try it out. I was greeted kindly at the door and seated right away. The interior has a great vibe and a nice touch of Thai culture all around for decor. I ordered the Thai tea, Tom yum soup and the pad see ewe. The Thai tea was good... Perfect amount of sweetness. The tom yum was delicious. It was actually the perfect size and allowed me to warm up in the cold while also having room to try their pad see ewe. I got the pad see ewe with beef. It was delicious, but a little too sweet. Just one level down of sweetness would have been perfect. For both dishes, I asked for Medium spice and only got a hint of it, so I think I could handle more spice here. Medium at another Thai restaurant requires me to drink lots of Thai tea lol. Thai Palm is a nice oasis in a strip mall, but it's transformed once you enter. Cute little cafe with a couple of seats. The service is quick and the food is tasty. Thai Palm has been a favorite in the Charleston area for Thai cuisine for many years. We usually order it to go and take it home, but our most recent visit was enjoyed in the restaurant. We were surprised to find that the restaurant got a facelift and was transformed into a much warmer welcoming atmosphere. As always the food and service were excellent. My favorite dish is the cashew chicken coupled with the Tom Kha coconut soup. If there's no room for dessert I can not resist taking home my favorite mango sticky rice. The lady at the front helped me out on the spice levels and so it's a good idea to pick wisely as Thai spice is a bit spicer than American spice. The booths in the back are roomy and it's pretty quiet for a nice, intimate setting.. perfect for a date night. I had the chicken pad Thai and it was amazing! I'd call this 4 star food and service with 3 star ambience. The portions are generous and well prepared. Loved the fried pork egg rolls- fresh, crispy, and not greasy. Noodle salad bowl with pork had a great variety of herbs, greens, veggies, soft noodles, and grilled pork. The pork was a bit oily but overall we enjoyed it. Pad Thai was flavorful but again a bit oily. I'd ask for more sprouts and cilantro next time to freshen it up. I'd recommend they play some music in the background and change the tv station to better the ambiance (there was a show demonstrating butchering techniques which was unappealing when we were there). So I'm kinda obsessed with Thai Palm. I've gone for dine in and then a couple weeks later did take out. I will say that dine in is a better experience (which is expected), but not because of the atmosphere and more because of the service. It's in a little strip mall across from the outlets, but it doesn't feel like that when you get inside. The service was top notch though. They were very attentive with service you would expect at a higher end restaurant. I will say the prices on food are a little higher across the board than you would expect, but the quality is there which makes up for it. We started with the shrimp in a blanket and a pot of the Tom Kha chicken soup. I felt like we would have had a bunch left over to take home, but it was so good we ate most of it. For $19.50 I feel like it should be a little larger and for presentation sake should come in the bowl with the flames in the middle which it did not. It was very flavorful though, even the small portion I was able to take home for later. I love pad see eu so I've had that both times and honestly I'll probably get it again. They add a lot of fresh vegetables and the noodles are perfectly firm. I really enjoyed the sauce and I chose my spice level but I wish it were a little spicier. I probably got the gringo treatment. Next time I'll up the spice level. The perfect way to finish your meal is with the mango sweet rice. It's seasonal so you have to ask, but the fresh mango and sweet rice is such a treat. Thai Palm is in a shopping center near Tanger Outlets in North Charleston. It offers both dine-in and to-go, and I've experienced both. Two years ago, a friend and I dined here in-person after shopping, and most recently, I placed a to go order for lunch via Uber Eats. Due to the COVID-19 surge, I'm ordering to-go or dining outdoors these days. I ordered the sweet and sour tofu dish, which came with veggies and jasmine rice, and I requested medium heat. I went with medium since I knew the sweetness of the pineapple would cut the heat. I arrived less than ten minutes after placing my order, and my food was ready. That was quick! If you're on a lunch break from work, every minute you spend waiting for lunch counts. Unfortunately, my dish wasn't packaged well, and the sweet and sour sauce escaped the Styrofoam box and into the plastic bag. This made the napkins and silverware soggy, but thankfully none got in my car. My entrée was not spicy at all. I wouldn't even consider the heat "mild"- it was more along the lines of "no spice". Granted, spiciness varies between every Thai restaurant, but I wasn't venturing to order "hot" on my second trip here. Thai Palm is a bit expensive, even for vegetarians. I would return to try the Pad Prik King, as I haven't seen that on any other Thai restaurant menu in this area. Otherwise, I'll continue my quest for excellent Thai food in Charleston. read more

First time here and I'm glad I tried it, the place is small so don't come with a big group. It's more of a lunch spot. I had the red curry beef no bamboo shoot but some how a few still found it's way in my food. Hubby had the basil chicken and it was tasty with a nice smoky taste from the wok. My only issue is the portion size for lunch dishes compared to the prices. For $12 for lunch the size was smaller than expected and the protein was lacking. Flavors are good at this joint but my lunch tab was 41 before tip and that is because beer is 5.50 and entrees are 12.50 and to that you add the whopping 11 percent SC tax on food makes me wanna cook my own Pad Kee Mao So far is the best Thai food around. Restaurant is located in a busy strip mall with limited number of tables so that could be a reason to have prices on the high end.
