    Drunken noodles

The atmosphere was nice and it's located inside a good bar. It's definitely casual. We really liked the beer, but the food was underwhelming. We ordered the Drunk noodles and Curry with pork katsu. The noodles were cooked well and had a nice texture, the sauce was just alright and there was very little chicken. Noddles would've been better with a touch of acidity or spice. The pork katsu was nice and crispy but the curry sauce was one dimensional. It lacked some substance and really only had some green beans and green onion in it. Overall, we were left still a bit hungry

I was only able to get the dumplings, but they made my day! This cute little Asian spot is inside of the Charlestown brewery so you can grab a beer and some delicious Asian food. Everything came out so quickly and fresh to order.

THE best sour ale I've ever had with calamansi!!!

On the way home, I had a craving to try more food from Bok Choy Boy since I really liked what I had last time. This time, I ordered the drunken noodles and the jufran banana ketchup fried chicken. Now.... If you didn't grow up on banana ketchup, you should try it! Don't knock it until you try it! Alone, it seriously tastes just like tomato ketchup! In this fried chicken dish, combined with the other spices they put into it, reminds me of Sriracha and the whole dish was addictingly yummy! I think the next time I get it, I'll have to order 2 servings because it's so easy to devour. Fun fact: Banana ketchup was invented by a Philippine scientist named Maria Rosa. Tomato imports into the Philippines had ceased during WWII and so she developed this as a solution to the shortage. Back to the Bok Choy Boy food..... the drunken noodles.... Omg! So good! I brought it home so my kids can try it too and they seriously argued about who was going to get the last bit of it. Lol. While I waited for the food, I sipped on Gwapo since I got hooked when I had it last time. Just as I finished the last sip, the buzzer buzzed and my food was ready to go! Another great experience and cravings satisfied!

Run...don't walk!!! I have been meaning to go here for the longest time but finally made it happen today. I tried their special the "Katsu Sando" and was so impressed!! The miso bacon jam was absolutely insane. Tons of seating, but I took mine to go. Amazing customer service!

Long time watcher, first time eater. Where to begin, where to begin... The cider was quite nice. A little light for my taste but very good. The Tocino Bowl on the other hand was legen [wait for it] dary! The sweet cured pork was full of flavor and so tender chewing was optional. The tomato cucumber salad was topped with a cream dressing that I didn't even get to analyze--I just scarfed it down. The crispy rice was delish and the bowl--overall--well-envisioned and excellently crafted. If I had to offer a recommendation, the crispy rice could have been a bit crispier but honestly, I can't say as I missed the extra crunch much. The service--at the bar and at the food counter was top notch. I asked for a recommendation and boyo! NO complaints. In short, come to this place. Eat the food. Talk to the bartender. Have a drink. Leave an excellent tip. Tell others.

A takeout window embedded in a brewery, this place offers a small but interesting menu. I sampled some drunken noodles, a common term in Southeast Asian cuisine but here rendered with what they call a "fermentory beer sauce". They were interesting noodles, with a complex flavor, springy texture, and crisp vegetables. The people here do seem to do some significant menu rotation, so while I didn't find much else of interest to me, if they make anything else vegetarian I'd be happy to try it.

Absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, spicy and absolutely perfection. I didn't get a picture of the lumpia because we ate them too fast. The service was great and they are tucked in the back of Charles towne fermentory so you have tons of great beer options besides.

The best hole in the wall inside the brewery. I have been secretly stalking Setrini for years and following his pop everywhere and he never and would never disappoint. So when decent to this humble joint, I knew I had to come. What a ride. Once again, I was satisfied. It's not just because I knew I would love his dishes from the get go but because I knew his crew would also deliver his dishes with or without him because they never lag. The pictures don't do justice. There's drinks, there's food. What are you waiting for?

    Fried chicken and ube waffles

Got a chance to catch Bok Choy Boy when they were popping up at Stems and Skins in Park Circle. I wanted to try a bit of everything so for two people we order a handful of dishes. -Fried Chicken and Ube Waffles -Dan Daniel Noodles -Lumpia -Cake Balls I placed my order and it was ready in fifteen. You could have eaten there but I had plans to eat at home. Everything was packaged up nicely and I was on my way. To be honest, everything was great. My favorite was the fried chicken on the waffles. I would say top 5 fried chicken ever. The mix of the ube waffle and shishitto peppers definitly made it my favorite dish. The noodles were spicier than I thought. I'm fine with it but my friend couldn't handle so I ate most of that dish. I would get it again for sure. The lumpia, while great, was what I expected and the sauce was jammed with flavor. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

Not much to review in terms of ambience as it's just a kitchen tucked away within the Charleston Fermentary. (A good vibe in its own right) Despite the lack of size, the food definitely packs a punch. I've had a taste of nearly everything on the menu and each dish wows in its own way. Crab fat fried rice was addictive. I got a second batch just to have for lunch the next day. The spicy chicken sandwich also brought a heat that tends to be missing from other restaurants. Definitely recommend.

I stopped into Port of Call this past weekend to pick up some sweet treats, but also timed it so that I could get lunch there too. BCB was calling to me, and so after browsing the menu, I went with the lumpia and the udon noodle bowl. Plenty of seating upstairs, so I went to relax while my food was prepared. It's all made fresh, so don't expect it to be quick like in a food court at the mall. Quality takes time, and this was worth it. The lumpia and the dip sauce was excellent. Amazingly done. Possibly the best lumpia I've had all year. The udon noodles were thick, tender, flavorful, and every bite was just as good as the last. The bowl also had pickled shallots and pork belly chunks. So good. I ate everything and wanted to go back for more. I will, just not the same day.

I ate here twice in one weekend to try the Filipino food and the debut of their Izakaya menu! For the Filipino food, we got lumpia, dumplings, Mochiko fried chicken, and ube bread pudding. The lumpia was about what I expected, the dumplings were very tasty and had a nice amount of chili oil on them, and the bread pudding had a lot of good ube flavor. I would definitely be prepared to split the bread pudding since it is rich and a large portion. The mochiko fried chicken itself was crispy, moist, and flavorful. My only complaint is that there was too much of the sauce in the rice itself so it became a little too sweet for me, but when it was with the chicken it balanced nicely. For the Izakaya (Japanese) menu, we got the gyoza, the Katsu curry, and the tonkotsu ramen. The goyza were super crispy, I like that they are crepe-based. I felt the filling was not as flavorful as the dumplings the day before, but I really liked the crispness. The tonkotsu ramen was nothing special, especially compared to the better ramen in my home base of DC, but it would get the job done on a chilly day. THE KATSU CURRY was excellent! The fried pork was perfectly crispy on the outside but moist inside. The curry part itself could be spicier, but it still was flavorful. I would go back frequently for that dish. Overall, I am very glad to see Bok Choy Boy bringing in some different Asian food to the scene downtown. I look forward to seeing where they go from here. Try the Filipino food when it is around, and get the Katsu curry!

We sat at the sushi bar, which I highly recommend, and from the moment we sat down it was clear we were in good hands. We were surprised right away with a complimentary amuse‑bouche--crab stick rolled with salmon--which was a thoughtful and delicious touch. To start, I ordered the seaweed salad while Justin went with the ginger salad; both were fresh, balanced, and a perfect lead‑in to the sushi. For the main event, I ordered a spicy tuna roll and eel nigiri, and this is where Zen really shined. The spicy tuna roll was exactly what sushi lovers hope for--very light on rice and heavy on fish, something that's surprisingly hard to find around Charleston. The eel nigiri was rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Justin ordered several pieces of sashimi and was equally impressed. We asked about albacore tuna (unfortunately unavailable), but were told the salmon was excellent--and moments later, we were unexpectedly served two additional pieces of sushi each. Completely unexpected and incredibly appreciated, especially for a birthday celebration. Between the quality of the fish, attention to detail, and warm hospitality, Zen Asian Fusion absolutely won us over. We've officially found our new sushi spot and can't wait to come back.

You definitely might need to cut it down or maybe half it for a bite but I still loved it. They brought it with a fork and knife, so it's kind of expected. I also ordered the Sambal or yellow curry with chicken. It was pretty good too. It came with a house salad. The dressing on the salad was delicious. The samba curry was really good too. I liked that everything came out hot. I also ordered the SC rainbow. It was good too. I pretty much liked everything I ordered. Id probably order all of those again. Service and ambiance was good. It seemed busier than I expected.
