This is the best Chinese takeout I've ever had. It's always made fresh (but still relatively quickly). You're not getting rice that has been sitting under a hot light for 6 hours. They have a couple of tables inside if you want to eat there but I don't think many people do. I always get it to go. One downside is that the hours aren't necessarily accurate. It seems like they just shut down sometimes when it's getting late and nobody has come in for a while. I don't blame them though. From what I can tell it's a small family business. Their menu advertises they serve authentic "New York-style" Chinese food with a ton of sauce (excessively so in the case of the moo shu pork), so be prepared to drain your containers before serving. They do a pretty good job with the pancit noodles, as it has a nice heat. The Mongolian Beef is overwhelmed with onions, but tasty. The Sesame and Orange Chicken dishes are kid pleasers and meet expectations. Good egg foo young and generous portions. The hot and sour soup is amongst the best I've had anywhere, as it tastes homemade rather than coming from a can like other places. Overall, Golden Bowl's food is pretty solid. It was very easy to order online, look at the menu, provide name & phone number. Time given for pick up, about 20 min & voilá. The shop was super busy for pick up. Obviously a lot of people had a yearning for Chinese Takeaway last night. It is super clean in here. Spotless actually. It is well orchestrated, from the order to execution. The staff are super helpful and friendly, so eager to please. My husband loved the food, huge portions, satisfying the craving. Always a good thing. I tasted the dishes and yes they were yummy. First time customer on Christmas so was expecting chaos (and got it ) with 15 of us crammed inside waiting for our orders. All the dishes were flavorful and portions were solid. The spicy beef and udon chicken were particularly tasty and the beef was super tender. There is an option to dine in with a few tables but take out is the way to go. Dumplings are fine...not much ginger/garlic/scallion in them. Very disappointed! The food didn't taste authentic and the ribs were undercooked and chewy. First they told me it would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and asked if my order was ready. I literally watched him find my order and then put it in line to be prepared. He then said it would be ready in a few minutes. I sat down to wait and watched them switch from calling out order numbers to just calling the items ordered. In the 45 MINUTES I sat there, they gave someone else's order to two separate people. Needless to say I was starving after waiting 1:15 minutes from the time I ordered, but I was worried about the order being correct after watching the other mistakes. I had a large order and none of the containers were labeled, so I looked at the receipt and it was what we ordered so I took it home. Golden Bowl, what would we do without you? We've probably ordered more than 1000 dumplings from you guys and love that they are homemade and fresh. My daughters will literally (okay, figuratively) eat their weight in dumplings and request yours exclusively. We're pretty much regulars at this Bowl of Gold and I'll pick some up for dinner once every two or three weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes less. We've tried most of the menu and appreciate that they make the items to order and have accommodated every special request we've had without hesitation. While we have eaten at the restaurant a few times, the majority of our orders are to-go. Always fresh, always on-time, and haven't had an issue with the seemingly common ordered-this-but-got-that situation that you often hear about with takeout orders. The fil just had double knee surgery (!) so we offered to pick up lunch to bring the invalid housebound and the daughter requested Chinese. I called in the order and the employee was helpful on the phone and quoted a 10 minute wait, which was great for a weekend meal time.
