It is a quant little restaurant the food was delicious I had ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Steamed Dumplings and it was all very delicious. The staff was friendly ish and the restaurant was small just a couple tables.

Shrimp Egg Roll had a screw in it !!!

I ordered this yesterday and attempted to eat my leftover fried shrimp egg roll when I realize something taste like metal so I chew some more and unfortunately, it was a screw inside my eggroll. This is unsanitary, unfortunately traumatizing and definitely a violation in terms of DHEC!!! Something needs to be done about this!!! ASAP!!!

Don't waste your money. They used old meat that clearly needs to be thrown out. I literally took the food back and just left

Sometimes when you're on vacation you just want an old faithful.... This Chinese restaurant was perfect. Great service and the woman who seemed to run the place was efficient. Definitely more of a take out place but they do have a dining room. I got the chicken fried rice and crab rangoons and it was perfect. Portions are definitely on the bigger side so sharing is very easy

Sweet and sour pork (no veggies!!)

Nothing crazy here- good mushu, not so good sweet and sour pork, okay general tsos chicken, rangoons, and steamed dumplings. The sweet and sour pork was just really fried pork balls. There was 90% breading and 10% meat, and no vegetables at all. Delivery took 2 hours through Uber eats so that was annoying but overall meh experience.

Chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice

Best Chinese I have had in mount pleasant to date ! The next on my list is bamboo garden but if I never make it to bamboo garden I will be fine with the 3 min drive across the street to China East any day! This place is quick, not much decor, but it comes hot and delicious! The dumplings are the BOMB! Filled with stuffing, herbs, and they are huge! The egg drop soup is also equally amazing - it contains big drops of egg although the fried little noodle pieces were a bit over fried for me but the soup is good so you don't need it. Finally I got the chicken and broccoli combination with pork fried rice. The fried rice is yellow which I love and it's hard to find these days. The bowl is packed and the chicken and broccoli are super fresh. This place was just the gem I was looking for.

I know Hunan hasn't always had the best reputation, but based on my most recent experience, it's…read moreclear they're making real improvements--and it deserves to be recognized. About two weeks ago, I called in a delivery order. The person who answered the phone spoke perfect English, was calm and polite, and the whole interaction was refreshingly pleasant. (If you've ever had the opposite, you know how much that matters.) After placing the order and paying over the phone, I got an email with all the details--what I ordered, my notes (like "not spicy" and "extra duck sauce"), and an expected delivery time. This is a big deal because, in the past, I've waited well over an hour for food from this same place. Not this time. The food arrived exactly when promised. And here's what really surprised me: everything was carefully packaged, with cardboard separators to keep the containers upright and secure. It's a small thing, but it shows intention--and I noticed. The next day, I saw a follow-up email confirming the delivery time and offering a chance to report any issues. That's another level of customer care I wasn't expecting. As for the food: look, I'm used to the Chinatown scene in NYC, so my bar is high. But for Mount Pleasant? This was as close to outstanding as Chinese takeaway gets. To anyone who tried Hunan in the past and wrote them off: give them another shot. They've clearly stepped it up, and it shows.

I wanted to give this restaurant a second chance after a poor first experience, but unfortunately,…read moremy second visit was just as disappointing. Billing Issues: The online ordering platform stated there was no fee, but my final total was higher than expected. When I asked about the charge, I was shown a $1.25 online ordering fee that wasn't disclosed upfront. Even with tax and my tip factored in, the math still didn't add up correctly at the register. Food Quality and Portions: The roast pork lo mein (which came with pork fried rice) was very bland, and the container contained mostly rice with very little lo mein. Additionally, the side of white sauce that I was charged $1.00 for was only filled halfway. It was completely tasteless, and I ended up having to throw the entire meal away. Customer Service: The cashier was unfriendly and unwelcoming, which was the exact same experience I had during my first visit. Given the hidden fees, poor food quality, and unwelcoming service, I will not be returning.

As a vegan the menu is easy to navigate, and the service is above and beyond. We ordered a rice bowl with red curry tofu and subbed the vinaigrette for the almond tahini dressing. We also got the red curry tofu banh mi with vegan mayo. I also enjoyed the house made sweet tea which comes with unlimited refills. While waiting for our food Cameron was so hospitable continually checking in with our table. This is a casual business with no table service however the staff regularly checks in on the tables and are extremely attentive. My rice bowl was deliciously saucy. I also added some hot sauce for a little kick. I loved the variety of vegetables which felt like the perfect refuel after enjoying fun in the sun. My husband ate his banh mi so quickly I didn't have a chance to take a bite. Clearly that was a winner. The sweet tea was just the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely order this drink again next time. We had the best lunch at Bon Banh Mi and cannot wait to return again next year. I specifically want to highlight Cameron for making our dining experience so comfortable and memorable. His hospitality was greatly appreciated!

The sauce was somewhat bitter and the bowl definitely needed something to kick it up a notches. Luckily my dining partner had ordered the vegan bowl and shared her vinaigrette with me. Also that peanut sauce for the spring rolls is tasty to give the bowl a little pep. The Taylor roll 8if you e never had it here)bead like a thinly sliced Spam and left much to be desired. The counter order and delivery was fairly seamless. They don't have much space for storage in the kitchen so they make use of the restaurant as a neat bodega styles feel. I do appreciate that they use Cafe during Monde containers for the silverware and that's what they use for their chickpey flavored tea as well
