After placing the order and paying over the phone, I got an email with all the details--what I ordered, my notes (like "not spicy" and "extra duck sauce"), and an expected delivery time. This is a big deal because, in the past, I've waited well over an hour for food from this same place. Not this time. The food arrived exactly when promised. And here's what really surprised me: everything was carefully packaged, with cardboard separators to keep the containers upright and secure. It's a small thing, but it shows intention--and I noticed. The next day, I saw a follow-up email confirming the delivery time and offering a chance to report any issues. That's another level of customer care I wasn't expecting. As for the food: look, I'm used to the Chinatown scene in NYC, so my bar is high. But for Mount Pleasant? This was as close to outstanding as Chinese takeaway gets. I do not comment on these things, but strongly advise to stay away. Ordered a simple combo. They called back after submitting my order to "confirm" I was the right person. After paying and waiting, I asked to make sure the tightly shut bag was my order. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and there was no chicken, no fried rice.. just "left over" vegetables that I specifically asked without. They deliver which is a plus for the area!! Had S&S chicken, chicken with veggies and steamed dumplings. Dumplings were A+, beat I have ever had. Huge. Chicken and veggies was great. Fresh veggies and good portion of chicken. They are generous. Disappointment was the S&S chicken. Small pieces, overcooked and super greasy in old oil. If you haven't been here in a while, I strongly recommend it! I am used to amazing Asian from Atlanta .. this is some of the best Chinese food around with high quality ingredients and a lot of them. Repeat they treat their customers right! Get the SMALL shrimp lo mein, had about 15 shrimp, delicious flavor, not salty, just right. Perfection. And chicken with mixed vegetables,, loads of FRESH expensive veggies like bamboo, corn, fresh celery and loads of chicken in a mouthwatering sauce, I added a little soy sauce to the rice but frankly the fact that each part had the proper taste of the vegetable was refreshing to say the least so often Chinese food all tastes the same. ! I went here years ago.. so so. Now, and past few times it is amazing. Give this local business some love, they deserve it! YUM.. going back again today. I have to say that as populated as Highway 41 is in Mount Pleasant, there is a lack of delivery options for us! I was Told that Hunan restaurant in Queensborough shopping Center would deliver. I was also told to allow extra time but that the food would be worth it. I decided to give it a try last week when I was sick. I can promise you it was worth every second! The food was delicious and I plan to order many times more. Maybe some of the local restaurants will follow suite and deliver to Planters Pointe Subdivisions and Rivertowne and Dunes West!!! read more

Food hot and the usual Chinese flavors. Was recommended by hotel. Minimum order for delivery was 25$ so had to find restaurant myself as only 1 person and not that hungry. No ambiance. Plain inside and as out of towner the shopping area was difficult to locate because saw no street sign; is in bend of road to my left so had to make a complete circle in heavy traffic to find the tight shopping area, then still had to locate the restaurant. I'm always amazed when I see people post things about Chinese takeout like "Absolutely amazing food" etc. because let's be honest: 99% of Chinese takeout places are supplied by the exact same vendors and have the exact same menus and preparation. So really the ONLY difference is whether they rotate their product properly and serve you fresh-tasting food. HUNAN does that! I started going there when too often my usual takeout place would give me very old, even spoiled bits of beef in Beef & Broccoli or Pepper Steak etc. That's never happened at Hunan, the food is always good and the Asian staff are always friendly and professional (the lone American guy can sometimes be a bit gruff). The ingredients and menu is basically the same here as it is anywhere else in Charleston or in Iowa or Texas for that matter. Terrible disappointment. Wonton egg drop soup should have been a chicken broth with egg and wontons, comforting and salty deliciousness. Instead it was inedible oil, yes oil/grease with no flavor what so ever! I couldn't even add salt and revive it, it was 100% oil! I tried pulling the wontons out but they had been cooked in the oil so were inedible. Eggrolls: I asked which of the rolls were filled with vegetables/cabbage and not doughy and was told the regular eggrolls were the best. Poor customer service. If you order online it's a minimum 2 hour wait, meaning it could take longer than that. No where on their website says anything about the ridiculous timeframe. We are ordering take outs twice a week to help local businesses through this Covid-19. We decided to try this Chinese Take out. We ordered a family sized meal at 5.45pm last night and waited.... An hour later we called and they said that it would be another 15-20 minutes. Ok, we waited again. Another hour went by and we called again - again we were told another 15-20 minutes and our food would be delivered. All lies. We said Cancel our order!!! 9pm and our food arrived with the delivery guy wearing a mask. We told him to take the food away, it was far too late. We waited over 3 hours!!!! He said they were short staffed and had just re-opened. We said that a phone call would have been nice to let us know what was going on. We had to make do with cheese and crackers for dinner. Not good. Wont be using this place again!! I wouldn't even give it a one star for bad service. read more

You can expect a 1 - 2 hour wait, and once you get there to pick it up it will be another 30 mins because they're "busy", even when there are no other customers. Best spot for Chinese delivery in mount pleasant. They actually deliver while the other Chinese spots advertise it and then when you call they say pickup only or "we only deliver within 5 miles". Average Chinese food for Charleston but they deliver so that bumps them from a 3 to 4. We like most of their chicken dishes. Mini chicken fingers with sweet n sour chicken are good if they aren't overcooked. Appetizers are decent. read more

Deplorable . Website down so we called. They left out white rice. How can a Chinese restaurant leave out white rice. The fried rice was over cooked as was the dumplings. The shrimp was old and stunk. This was an epic fail and a waste of money. Do not recommend. read more

I have lived in Mount Pleasant for 17 years, and seeing many chinese places come and go, I have tried pretty much all of them. The only one I always go back to is Hunan. They have great food, always hot, and some of the best won-ton soup in the area. The egg rolls are plump and delicious, the lo-mein is always fantastic, and their General Tao's chicken is just spicy enough for my tastes. The store is run only by a few people so I don't recommend asking for delivery if you are in a hurry. Although it is one of the only chinese spots that will deliver in Mount Pleasant. (Maybe thats why it takes so long Jan B.....ever think of that?) Have had one meal be wrong out of the 70+ times i've ordered from there and they delivered the correct dish even though we picked up the food. Bingo! This is the first Chinese food place that tastes like back home. One can always tell a good Chinese food place by their egg rolls, spare ribs and fried rice. The egg rolls are on point (crunchy and full!), the fried rice is not greasy or lumpy and the spare ribs (perfect crisp and tender) are legit! It's not much of a restaurant but we still decided to dine in. Not sure about delivery but the service was friendly and quick. While we were dining in, several customers came in for take out and it was a pretty quick turn around. We also, ordered wonton soup (I've never been to a Chinese food place that has given us so many wontons on our soup!), vegetable lo mein and beef in garlic sauce. Everything was delicious and just right! The price point is great and we still had so much food left over. So glad we found this hidden gem! We will be back for sure! read more

They deliver quickly and always listen to special instructions. We ordered a bunch of food for a big group of us and everything came to us piping hot, fresh and exactly as we asked it to be. Rarely do places honor requests such as "light on the oil" but these folks do! Their curry chicken with onions is awesome and comes with a bunch of veggies; not just onions! Their healthy diet options are also really nice. Their hot & sour soup is AMAZING and chocked full of tofu and pork. Egg Foo Young is also excellent - both the chicken and pork were great too. Portions are HUGE: if you order a large, be prepared - it's a meal for two. $15 minimum on delivery orders, but that can easily be met if 2 of you are ordering. Can't speak for the venue itself, but definitely try them for takeout or delivery! read more

Business appears to have over extended their abilities when offering free delivery to the area. Food also arrived cold with no apology given even after being tipped. Over 2 hours for a delivery. If that's how long it takes based on how busy they are then so be it (though it's an indication they should hire more drivers). What bothers me most though was the lying we received from the staff there--a different version from everyone we spoke to. How long it would take and then what had caused the ridiculous delays with the delivery (i.e. traffic, my car broke down, etc.). Reminded me of the scene in the Blues Brothers where John Belushi's character is trying to explain to Carrie Fischer's character that he didn't intentionally stand her up on their wedding day---"I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!" UPDATE - Raised rating to 3 stars as the food, once received, was very good. We are devoted PF Chang's customers. Heard the food was good so decided to give a try. We're 2 hours in and still no food. I've called every 15 minutes for the last 45 and told it's on it's way. TWO HOURS!!!!!!!! No food. Simply terrible. Thought saving a few bucks was worth it but wish I'd stuck with old dependable PF Chang's that delivers good food in a reasonable time frame. I like this chinese food place. It is really set up for takeout with just a few tables. But the food is very good for a takeout chinese place. The kitchen is clean, the oil they fry in is clean, the vegetables are fresh, so I find it to be extraordinarily good compared to competitors. This was recommended by our hotel. We were looking for Chinese as it's my favorite food and we have a number of big dinners coming up over the next few days. Communication with the lady who answered the phone was very difficult but I had prepared an order on their on line ordering tool so I could read it easily to her or so I thought. She couldn't understand the address or name of the hotel, told me one of the option on the ordering tool wasn't available (?) so I had to order separately..anyway after 2 calls got the order in (should have been my first clue) and was told one hour on a Monday night..maybe football made it busy..1 hour and 30 minutes later still no food the restaurant is 10 minutes from the hotel. So I called and the lady started yelling at me.. I hung up. Finally my husband finds the delivery guy with the food and he says his gps got him lost and and sorry oh and by the way what was $27.50 on the ordering tool is now $42. There is food I didn't order in the bag and at best the food is what u expect of bad Chinese brown mush undistinguished one from the other.. .the house special fried rice had 3 little baby shrimp on top and two green peas ... it was disgusting we had a few bites and threw most of it away.. look at my reviews. I rarely give a bad review but this is just bad. Communication impossible..and I take responsibility for not confirming the total price as there were numerous statements on the website that said prices were subject to change.
