Lo mein with fried rice. My favorite combo from this restaurant. Such an awesome portion lol

No I'm not saying their food is like WOW IT'S AMAZING. No I'm not saying all their menus are good. Then why do I give them 4 stars? 1. Cheap. Their lunch combo is $9, with tax it's barely $10 which it's so much cheaper than other places. 2. A huge portion: You receive a brick. Seriously. They PACK the food like how we pack our food at the Chinese buffet with a flat rate lol I don't know how they close it but they do! I eat a lot but I could eat 3 meals from one plate. 3. Some menus are guaranteed good. General Tso's chicken, Lo meins and Vegetable fried rice, Crab Rangoon is great. They use spaghetti noodles instead of Lo mein noodles, but they make it work. To me Chicken with Broccoli was meh. The sauce was light like Lobster sauce. Pancit is a little bit bland. It's not a place that you need to come check out if you live far, but if you are broke, want good food and live pretty close from here, order Lomein + Fried rice now lol

General Tsos. Comes with fried rice. Huge portions. I ordered a small and could split it 3 ways.

I am a creature of habit and set in my ways, so I was really upset to discover that my typical go to Chinese take out is now closed on Mondays. So Nick talked me into coming to China Palace. This is actually super close to us, and it had come recommended by an acquaintance, who was from China, about 3 years ago. I never got around to coming bc I love the place we usually go to, and to be honest these Yelp reviews kind of scared me off. If you go to Google reviews they're much better. So anyway, Nick and I decided to give it a shot. I'll start out by saying that this place takes COVID seriously, and currently you walk up to the door to order, with a table blocking you from entering, as theyre only doing take out. I peeked inside and it looks like your typical old school mom and pop Chinese restaurant that gave me a nostalgic feeling. I could see that they probably used to have some sort of small lunch buffet option pre covid, but they are not doing that right now. The place appeared to be pretty clean on the inside. The lady at the table was very friendly, and took our order quickly. She told us it would be 15 minutes for the food to be ready, and they had a steady flow of customers. We decided to wait in the car, and I set a timer so I wouldn't lose track of time. At the 15 minute mark we got out to get the food and it was ready right at 15 minutes. I was shocked at the amount of food we had ordered. We ordered basically the same thing we do at the other place we go to and got double the food. We had enough for 4 people for sure. Our fridge is currently packed with leftovers! The food itself was good. I think very stuck on the place we normally go to and the flavors were a little different from what I'm used to, but it did taste good. Nick loved his food. We got the general tsos, (I'm pretty sure) the Mongolian beef, and lo mein. All of them came with a ton of fried rice. I also got the cheese crab wonton. Not bad. I think they also gave us an extra fried rice unless somehow we ordered it, but we ended up with so much food. Moral of the story, you can definitely share a meal here. This will definitely be our plan B/Monday night take out from now on!

China Palace on Dorchester Road in North Charleston is a reliable source for all things fresh and flavorful Chinese food. I really like their menu and how well everything is prepared. You get a good value for everything that you get here. I have been happy with all of the orders that I have made from here over the years.

Got the Beef and Broccoli. The food was average at best. Restaurant was outdated but clean; what you would expect for one located in an old half empty strip mall. Cashier was not rude but I would not consider her friendly either. The highlight of the visit is when the cashier went into the kitchen and got into a yelling match with the cook. I don't understand what they were yelling in their native tongue but she clearly won.

Chicken wings with house fried or ham fried rice is delicious. There is not a long wait time especially if you order over the phone.

Best egg fried rice and chicken wings combo, it's a hidden gem the wait isn't too bad. You have to eat it while it's hot

Fried rice was great, but the chicken and broccoli was undercooked and not the typical sauce they put on the chicken and broccoli..

Old Li's is an outstanding authentic Asian restaurant. I loved it. No reservations required and plenty of tables. It's a very clean well ordered establishment. Also plenty of free parking right outside. The staff could not have been any better, prompt, attentive & very knowledgeable about the menu. The round table we sat had had a "lazy Susan" to facilitate the sharing of dishes. We ordered based on recommendations, personal taste & heat levels. The dishes were absolutely delicious. So good. I think the Peking Duck was the star of the show. If you are seeking Asian authenticity & phenomenal family service.. Old Li's in N. Charleston near Tanger outlet is your place to go. Of note the prices cannot be beat. A really nice change!!

Overall a good visit, I'll return to check out something else on the menu.

The whole place feels quaint and local, yet refined and classy. First off I love that it's a full service bar and eating at the bar is no problem. Second I absolutely love they sell pitchers of beer. Not many taps, but still pitchers. And it's mostly local beer. I was with my husband and we wanted to try several things and took recs from the bartender who was awesome. We ordered the pork dumplings, the scallion pancake and the spicy sichuan hot karaage rice bowl. And we made it a combo with miso soup and an egg roll for $4. The pork dumplings were SO good. I could eat a meal of those alone. They were dense and flavorful and the dipping sauce was slightly spicy. The scallion pancake was a surprise delight. It was crispy and not too greasy again with a delicious dipping sauce. The miso soup...chefs kiss. It looked like ordinary miso soup but there was something extra that we really loved!! And the egg roll was big and juicy and fried and wonderful. It's a veggie egg roll but don't let that fool you. So much flavor and again the sweet chili dipping sauce left us drooling. Most of those sauces are too sweet but this was the perfect blend and the perfect spice level. The rice bowl was full of flavor!! The spice on this is quite a lot so make sure you can handle heat if you order the "hot" version. But again lots of flavor not just hot. Thank god we didn't order anymore food because this was plenty for the two of us to leave full and honestly we could've had leftovers. We will 1000% be visiting again and fully understand the hype around this phenomenal restaurant!!

All the dishes we ordered, from the miso soup and pierogis with salsa macha, to the karaage-don and peanut noodles, were savory and satisfying to eat. The texture and appearance of the chicken for the karaage-don bore more of a resemblance to General Tso's chicken with its battered and crunchy exterior, and it didn't quite have the tender and juicy interior I was hoping for, but I enjoyed the lemon mayo pairing which resulted in a flavorful finish. The Peanut Noodles reminded me of certain iterations of Dan Dan Noodles and certainly tasted fine on its own, but adding the thick chunks of bacon/pork belly was essential in elevating this dish to the next level. The restaurant was very lively on a Thursday afternoon, and the staff very warm and inviting throughout our meal. My drink hit the mark for me, and I found the cocktail menu fun and creative. In fact, I would say "fun and creative" summed up our overall experience at Jackrabbit Filly. Just ask my daughter, who started dancing the entire lunch the moment she saw the disco lights in the bathrooms.

We initially went there for the hibachi and enjoyed the food so much that we had to go back to try other things on the menu. Between my wife and I, we have tried the steak and shrimp, and just steak hibachi with fried rice and have been impressed with both. From there we expanded and tried their wontons, and their onion soup, both of which have been delicious! The soup can be a little spicy or over seasoned at times but it's a great appetizer to share while you wait for the main course. My sister has tried some of their sushi and said it was really good as well. My favorite has become the chicken teriyaki dish with fried rice. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is a bit small so we tend to order pick up most of the time but we have eaten there a couple of times and have always been very pleased with the cleanliness and service.

I would estimate maybe two medium shrimp per each roll. The remainder of the roll contained lettuce, fresh herbs, rice noodles and shredded carrots. I think they are not worth the price due to the lack of protein. My sister walked past me eating it and asks "when did you go get a salad?" That goes to show you how much lettuce was within the roll. Lol Customer service seemed attentive, the interior appeared clean. If I return I won't order this again.
