I live in Park Circle and get takeout from Green Garden frequently. A no-frills restaurant with large portions of quality food for a low price. Writing this review, I think I'm going to get food there again tonight. Roast Pork Chow Mei Fun is my go-to. Never disappoints. read more

This is a great spot for chinese food. Has all the standard chinese takeout options and there is a deal on weekdays for a lunch combo. For about 9 dollars you get eough food for 1 and a half portions. Its not outstanding in terms of flavor; the chicken was fried and slightly soggy from the sauce but tasted sweet and slightly sour as orange chicken should be. This is a great, local take out Chinese spot convenient to Park Circle. You can eat there too, but we usually just get out food to go, as it's right around the corner. They get a lot of people walking in to order, rather than calling in, so there are often a number of people waiting for their orders and there's not much room aside from the dining room, so it can get a little crowded at times. Amy is awesome! She remembers her regular customers and any special requests they might have and she always asks about my husband if she hasn't seen him come in recently. Doesn't look like much from the road, but if you're looking for good, solid, Chinese takeout. This is your spot. For food - it meets all the standards for your Chinese takeout. Vegetable mei fun is my favorite and they've got awesome egg drop. Plus, the owner is very sweet and speaks Spanish and English fluently. I will caution readers, maybe more specifically young females, to not go alone because I have and I've been blatantly harassed by several homeless men. It is not pleasant. The staff definitely noticed and scolded the man, but it appears they deal with it often. That caused me to drop a star because I do hate that I don't feel comfortable waiting. Green Garden has become my goto for takeout chinese food and for good reason. Everything is a step above your average Chinese food spot from taste to portion sizes to variety. This past weekend I had some family in town and we were feeling super lazy on Sunday after the 4th. We called up and placed a $100 order with a bunch of different stuff. The lady that runs the place is so sweet that she gave us a free order of crab rangoon for placing the order. The best part is that it was still ready in fifteen minutes, it was piping hot when we got it home (how do Chinese food places make food hotter than the sun?), and every single detail in our order was exactly as asked. I ordered six different entrees along with a soup & lumpias. Everything was bad. Bourbon chicken was overcooked & dry, and bland. Sesame, orange, & honey chicken lacked flavor. I was craving Asian cuisine and stopped by here for lunch. I got the bourbon lunch special. I will start off by saying the portions are huge which I was very surprised about. I was very surprised by the portion of meat that I got with my lunch special. I wish they would have used a bigger container (I ordered to go) so that the rice wasn't smushed under the meat. Amazing Chinese food! So happy this is close to my house. They have quick service from call in to pick up. The woman who time runs it is the absolute sweetest. If you can your order in and pick it up, she gives you a free soda. It's really nice of her! The food is delicious and the portions are very large. The general tsos chicken and broccoli beef is so so so good. The pork fried rice is perfection. The egg rolls are some of my favorites in town. I highly recommend checking it out. read more

So I got their steak hibachi earlier. I'd placed the order online via BeyondMenu but showed up a few minutes earlier and the lady who works the front counter missed that I wanted no rice, extra veggies. I didn't realize until I got back to work. I called and she was super sweet and apologetic. She ultimately took my name to give extra veggies on my next order. The food itself was excellent quality, including the steak! No fat, no gristle. Not typical hibachi but that's a risk I accepted when I ordered hibachi from a Chinese restaurant. Later today my daughter asked if we could do Chinese for dinner so I figured I'd swing back by! She of course remembered me, was so kind, offered me a free drink while I waited for the new order, ushered me to a better spot to wait, and offered to turn the t.v. on. Very, very sweet! Where to start. First off I would just say don't waste your time ordering food from here. Go somewhere else. If you're still reading this, congrats. Second the crab Rangoons were the worst I've ever had. Legit tasted like a piece of microwaved rubber or 6 pieces of Hubba bubba bubblegum that has been chewed for 47 minutes. The general tso had maybe 2 pieces of chicken the rest was all filler. The boneless spare ribs were a 3.7/10 overall I'd rate the meal a 2.48. Excellent restaurant! It looks a bit rusty from the front but their food is great, especially the hibachi! The woman who runs this place is so sweet. Eveytime I order from here, she makes sure she knows exactly what I'm asking for. The most recent time we ordered, it was a fairly large amount of food and she gave us a container of sweet tea on the house! Remount Rd is pretty void of any decent restaurants, buts that's changed with the addition of the Green Garden Asian Cuisine Chinese Restaurant. Say that five times fast, dare you! Anyway, pleasant first visit to this establishment. I grade a Chinese takeout on three things. 1. Egg rolls, 2. their fried rice, and 3. their General Tso's Chicken. Ordered a $5.99 lunch special which they serve with chicken or pork fried rice or white rice and the entree. I opted for the old standby General Tso with pork fried rice. Add two egg rolls, subtract a 10% grand opening discount...and I'm pay $8.32 for lunch. BTW, 10% off discount continues until 31 May 2017 according to their menu flyer. The menu is typically of any area Chinese takeout, Happy Family, Triple Delight, lunch specials, combo specials (add egg roll to lunch special). I did see they list crawfish under the Chef Special area, will have to do follow up visit to check that out. Back to my lunch, the General Tso was excellent, cooked perfect, great flavor. The pork fried rice equally good, good balance of pork, veggies, and rice. Note: they use yellow rice, which I prefer over the brown rice some area restaurants use. The egg rolls, again near perfect. Not over stuffed with cabbage but a great balance of ingredients and deep fried to a nice crispiness. Portion is big enough that I ate half and saved the other half for lunch the following day. But you could easily eat the entire lunch special in one sitting and satisfy the heartiest of appetites. Inside of restaurant has several tables if interested in dining there. Tables appeared new and area looked clean. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the Green Garden. $8.32 for lunch (two days worth) is a bargain, add the fact the food tasted great, this place is a winner in my eyes. Much better option over the other Chinese takeout in that area. 4 of 5 stars...only because I need to try a couple other menu options to see if it can live up to my first impression. If you work in the Rhett/Remount area, you've got a hidden gem down the street. read more

This place is really good and exactly what I was looking for! I live in West Ashley and all the Chinese places are not great. We decided to search on yelp for a well rated Chinese join nearby. We found Green Garden and thought we would give it a shot. I'm so glad we did! The woman who works the front and phones is just the sweetest. She repeats your order back to you on the phone then again when you pick up the food. We got, crab Rangoon's, steamed dumplings, beef lomein and orange chicken. The steamed dumplings were so fresh, they were my favorite part. The orange chicken was the perfect sauce and came with a complimentary steamed white rice. My husband had the other two items and says they were delicious. The food was ready in ten minutes and hot when we arrived to pick it up. The inside of the restaurant was cute, just a typical Chinese restaurant with small seating and the front desk. And it also smelled amazinggggg in there!
