Nope, this ain't it!! I am from Massachusetts where the Chinese food is great. I hate to say it, but this is some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Not sure if there's just a different standard in the South or if the buffet had anything to do with it? All of the food I tried tasted "manufactured" for lack of a better term. Like it was made in a machine instead of a kitchen. One of my favorite items up North are crab rangoons, and here they call them cheese wontons (I nearly fainted haha)! Anyways, they tasted just as flat as they looked and almost like they were uncooked in comparison to the fried & fluffy ones I'm used to. The dumplings and vegetable lo mien noodles were OK but the vegetables were missing. Just like the "pork fried rice" was just rice. My family and I went to Chinatown last night and after we ate my husband went to pay the bill. He was up there at the counter for a while and called me over. They told him how much the bill was and he moved that exact amount into the card he wanted to use and it kept coming up declined and instead of explaining to him that there is an extra 3% charge for using your card this disrespectful Asian women that worked there and was now standing at the counter started saying something but I could not hear what word she was saying (that was the Lord on her side). I told my husband what the issue was and he just added that extra amount onto his card and it went through with no problem. When we started walking out is when I heard that "woman" telling my two sons that she was hoping they would be moping and cleaning her floors for non payment. My sons are 14 and 17 and she is very lucky that they are respectful to even those that are not. I told my sons to just keep walking out the door and not to listen to her dumb ass. We use to frequent this establishment often but NEVER again. This is the reason we need to support our own because it is proven over and over again that A Lot of Asians do not want anything to do with us but they want our money. We always have a wonderful time here and the staff is always so polite. Food is almost always hot. I'm not sure when pricing went up but I think $91 plus tip is ALOT for a weeknight buffet for 4. One of the better Chinese buffets in greater Charleston! I can't believe they have fried oysters, and they replenish the buffet frequently. If I have to be nit‑picky, though, there was too much batter. I had to peel some off, or else I'd have a cardiac arrest. Don't waste your money. We tried to like this place; we gave them several tries. The Mongolian BBQ was tasteless, little sauce, the vegetables were barely cooked. The broccoli was still room temperature. The only thing worse than the plate of food was the attitude of the chef preparing it. I haven't been here in years! We decided to have lunch here today. Inside is spacious and nicely decorated. There's a nice fish tank by the door--it's not disgusting and dirty like I've seen at other places. It was pretty busy but we were seated immediately. They offer the typical buffet options, rice, noodles, chicken, egg rolls, etc. The buffet was clean. One of the employees was walking around wiping off excess food and stirring the food. Across from the buffet is a Magnolia grill. I didn't get anything from it but I do think it's neat. The food was good--warm, not hot. But that's to be expected with buffets. They have one employee designated to refilling drinks--what a great idea!! She walked down the aisles every few minutes or so, asking if anyone needed refills.
