    Spring Rolls Delight

Not my favorite type of food on the Aisan side, but when dealing with a light eating choices, it's really for healthy eating here for me. Maybe after the gym, or dieting this food probably best. Unique dipping sauces, where you can't find no where else.

Everything was delicious, and the service was super friendly and they explained some of the dishes to us. I highly recommend them.

Food was served really fresh and hot. The restaurant is super clean and smelled amazing. Service was polite and quick. Perfect for a quick fix for noodles and pho.

Have been coming here because it is very close to where I live and their pho is always pretty good, has a nice flavored broth and the large is a good portion. Recently tried the spring rolls this time and they were not my favorite, they fell apart very easily and the peanut sauce was just okay, I would probably try the egg rolls next time instead. Not usually busy for lunch and service was quick!

For the latter, it's gotten to a point where no other Vietnamese spot has come close in terms of pho. For pho seekers who happen to be in Humble, Pho Dien 1960 is an absolute must. The place is small, but they've stacked their small dining room into a very group friendly setup consisting of small booths and tables. The stale air quality is reminiscent of old school spots around town and the young Viet guys running the joint keep the place friendly and efficient. In terms of the pho, there are no complaints. The broth skews somewhat sweet, but it's aromatic enough for me to normally slurp it completely dry. Their best asset has been the meat, which is excellent. Their combination dac biet is an excellent variety that includes meatball, tripe, flank, and some of the best rare steak and tendon I've had. The latter is buttery and smooth enough to where I can't get enough. I tend to order it in their XL (xe lua) size, which is an off-menu item that goes for nearly $20 ($19.45) and is one of the largest bowls I've seen. I always look forward to getting it. While their banh mi and bun dishes are not nearly the same caliber, they still pass the test as a quality offering. The cha gio is a bit paltry, without any greens and a small bowl of semi-spicy nuoc mam (fish sauce). Their Vietnamese coffee is chocolate-y, and perfect for to-go. Their weekday lunch combo special is a good deal, in which one can come in for a small or medium sized pho and get an order of two cha gio or goi cuon with an iced tea. Parking is really easy on the weekends, especially since most of the businesses in the strip mall are closed. It may feel a tad more expensive ($12-18 per most entrees) but this is the price one pays in suburbia without having to head to any of the enclaves.

I've tried many pho places and this one is almost as good as the one where I used to live called Pho Thy. I always order the pick 4 large pho. It's the perfect choice for meatballs, rare steak, tendon, and fatty brisket. The pho broth is so perfectly seasoned just add sriracha! The pho fixings are value for your money. I've been to many pho places where they're skimpy on the meat! So far, it's the only pho I can order online (conveniently and user friendly) pick it up and the pho broth will still be hot when I get home. But drinks, spring rolls, banh mi, vermicelli/rice plates are also their jam. Definitely on the pricier side for Vietnamese food and not truly authentic (but guess it's pretty far from Alief / Bellaire here), but I enjoyed the flavors anyways! ** 5 spice tofu vermicelli: this beautiful plate came with big fluffy pieces of tofu that were nicely fried, but the tofu itself had only a hint of the 5 spice flavor. It came with a very sweet, light fish sauce (?) that amped up the flavor, and there are sriracha and hoisin sauces on each table if needed. The medley of carrots, cabbage, and cilantro added some crunch and color. It wasn't oily or overly filling, and I'm happy I tried it :) ** BBQ pork banh mi: solid banh mi with some pickled veggies inside. Take out the jalepeno if you don't like spicy! The pork is a little on the fattier side. We added a fried egg as suggested by the staff (man, eggs are expensive right now!), and it was a little overcooked since we usually like the slightly runny yolk for banh mi. The bread wasn't overly crispy that it poked the roof of your mouth. ** Shrimp tempura: more of a fried shrimp than the Japanese tempura style, but still tasty! These came piping hot with pickled carrots too. Doesn't taste very "shrimpy," which may be good depending on who you ask. It's a clean and sort of fun, airy atmosphere. You order at the cashier first and the water, utensils, boxes, etc are self-serve. The staff were friendly. Definitely bring a jacket-- they had fans circulating cold air and it was chilly! Would return for their lunch offerings if in the area and to try the drinks and bubble waffles :D
