Have been coming here for like 8-9 years. We used to love this place but think it has had a change in management or something. The waitstaff is just not good anymore at all. We went in for lunch today, made our very typical order of chicken satay (still good), curry puffs (these have changed and they aren't any good anymore). I ordered garlic pepper chicken (decent but not the flavor it used to have) and my husband ordered chicken fried rice with extra vegetables. This is where the big issue I have happened. When his order came out it was simply vegetable fried rice, honest mistake we believed. We called the little emo waiter over where the insisted that we ordered this incorrect dish. We explained that what we really wanted was the order we thought we asked for. This young man then went and got a menu and came to show us why we were wrong and he was right. I have to admit, I kind of lost my temper a bit at this point. I told him we understand the menu as we have seen this menu countless times and we would like the fried rice with chicken and extra vegetables. He continued to explain why we ordered incorrectly, and that what we ordered was what we got. I don't know if he really understands that he is in the service industry, which means even if you think you are right, you still give the customer the benefit of the doubt. We are not difficult customers to deal with normally but, when you tell us that you're right and we're wrong, it just leaves a bad taste in our mouths. Both of us have waited tables in our younger years and both of us understand how difficult this job can be. We also understand that if a customer says oh no, this is not what I ordered. The correct response is "oh my goodness I am so sorry. Let me get that fixed for you right away. Just so I understand what it is that you wanted? Can you tell me again how you would like this prepared so I can make sure we get it correct?" Then you just go get the damn food correct! read more

My wife and I have been coming here for over a year now. We absolutely love it! The staff is friendly, service is quick and attentive, and food is very good. I've never been to Thailand but I've tried a fair share of Thai restaurants in Houston and this is my favorite and it happens to be local. Humble/Atascocita is lucky to have this business. Had a large to go order on a Sunday. Food was great. Counter service was also great and friendly.

Walking in the place was bright and clean. The server was friendly and quickly brought me a menu and took my drink order. I started w/ crispy rolls (veggies and noodles). They were perfectly cooked. Just enough crisp to them. Served hot w/ plum sauce. Oh my, so delicious. My entree was Beef and broccoli in a garlic pepper sauce. I've never had a better beef w/ broccoli in Houston/ Humble. You don't hear people rave about broccoli, but omg, it was cooked perfectly. With just enough bite to it. The florets were cut to the perfect size. I rolled the pieces in that sauce and man what a delight. The beef was so tender and flavorful. You can adjust the heat level according to your taste. Don't let this unassuming restaurant in a shopping center fool you. It is worth the drive if you're not in the Atascosita/ Humble area. I have to give this place a 10/10. read more

My husband and I went on a Saturday night and it was a nice easy and delicious meal. It was not super busy (although it should be because ... yum!). It is really pretty inside despite the outside being an older shopping center. Waitstaff was attentive and food came out fast and super fresh. The flavors were delicious and the spice was perfect. The food is always wonderful here, I've tried almost everything on the menu and it never disappoints. The Massaman and Yellow curry are some of the best in Houston. The Pad See Ew always hits the spot, and the portions are enough to take home for later! All the appetizers are really good, at this point I have to rotate through them every time I go because they're all worth eating. Been going here for a few years and always enjoyed their KHAO SOI GAI. On our last visit we ordered it and noticed the serving/bowl was about half (empty) of what it was in the past. Mentioned it to the server and was told the owner said authentically it is not a soup and therefore decreased the amount of broth. It also had less noodle as well. It was disappointing...price has gone up as well which would be acceptable if the serving was the same as in the past. read more

Favorite Thai food in Atascocita area. We've never had a bad experience. The food is fresh and flavorful. I used to love ordering the mango sticky rice, but the price has been increased so much, I can't justify ordering it unless it's a special occasion. I especially enjoy eating the khoi sai gai. Not sure how to spell that. It's a noodle soup base usually with chicken, but I enjoy the beef instead. Service has always been good and it's a great place for a date note or family dinner. read more

I love this place. My wife and I order take out from Baan Thai all the time. Hands down the best Thai restaurant in the area. We rarely get to eat in so this trip we had the whole fried red snapper. It was worth it with a sweet garlic sauce. But you can't go wrong here everything we have ordered was amazing. The service is friendly and will help you navigate the menu and they can also help with how spicy you want your food. Lastly the restaurant is cute and clean. The cook doesn't know the difference between mild and spicy, I ordered a pho soup and it was so hot in temperature that couldn't tell if it was the spice, I was 10 to 15% into it and my lips were burning, at this point the server said he would take it back and said he would bring me another one, but the cook said I had eaten some of it, I left the bowl with 85% of it there! The server was very courteous, the cook however needs to learn the difference between spice levels reflects also on poor management, I will not be visiting the establishment again! read more

The only legit Thai restaurant in the area! The yellow curry is my absolute favorite and the papaya salad is so fresh and delicious. I used to come here even more often, but they got rid of the spicy beef salad (my all-time favorite dish ). Please bring it back! I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately my dining partner ended up with what he felt like was hardcore food poisoning eating here. It must have been the eggplant dish, because a few hours, he was violently ill, and that was the only dish I didn't eat. I did enjoy the duck curry, though the meat was scant. 3.75 stars. Came in for weekend lunch for 2. Thai tea ($4.00) 4/5 Not too sweet and very nice presentation. Could have done without the whipped cream, though. Papaya salad ($8.95) 3.5/5 Big quantity but lots of iceberg lettuce. Would have preferred more papaya than lettuce. We got this in mild and Thai style instead of Laos style (P2 hasn't been able to manage spicy foods these days). The seasoning was very nutty and not fishy. The dressing reminded me of the ginger dressing salad at Benihana-like Japanese restaurants. Not a bad salad but wasn't what I was used to. Chicken Pad Kee Mow ($11.95) 3/5 Quantity is smaller than what I'm used to and not as much flavor as other places I've had this. Not bad by any means but nothing special to write home about. Spicy String Bean with Tilapia ($15.95) 4.5/5 This dish was the star! Tilapia is very finely carved off and the pieces cut into chunks and everything deep fried. It's then tossed with green beans and other vegetables in a sweet and slightly sour sauce. Fish could have been a little less cooked (I understand that it had to be deep fried then tossed again) but flavor was great and texture on the frying was nice and crunchy. Highly recommend this dish, as this dish is one of the dishes that would set Baan Thai apart from your run of the mill Asian bistro. Delicious food, just what you would expect. I do like spicy food but their spiciest is pretty overwhelming. Our whole family loves this place. Curry and Rice go so good together.
