LoMein w/ beef, chicken & pork

My dad loves Chinese food, so I had to find this on the fly. I saw a lot of ppl in their cars waiting when I pulled up, so that was a good sign that the food is decent. My dad ordered LoMein w/ chicken/pork and beef. I opted for shrimp w garlic veggies and cheese wontons. The wontons were chewy & not crisp like I prefer. I couldn't tell if they were old or undercooked. Filling was bland; no chives, carrots or seasoning at all. My dad like his dish and I actually enjoys the shrimp and veggies. I questioned whether the mushrooms were fresh, but I'm a borderline vegetarian. So I am super picky about my veggies. All in all, I would stop by again out of convenience. As, I walked in the order our food and it was ready in 15mins. Let me know what you think and if you find a dish I should try next time:)

Came here tonight because my boyfriend and I were craving Chinese food. We're newer to the area and this was the closest place so we gave it a shot and I'm so glad we did. The owner is so friendly and genuinely cares about you liking your food! I've never had egg foo young and he kindly answered my questions and it was delicious. I wish I took photos before we ate! The shrimp and lobster sauce is great too. We'll definitely be regulars here :)

This is definitely now our go to Chinese spot! The food was delicious and plenty full for the price. Service was very attentive, and the vibes are great and gives you kind of a old school dinner feel. We will be returning soon!

If I could give zero stars I would..... I was highly optimistic about trying something new. We ordered out and received our order. I bit into an egg rolls and when I went to pull it from my mouth I realized there was a HAIR!!!!! A whole strand of hair half in my mouth half still attached to the egg roll.... Never.. I repeat NEVER order from here.

Boneless Spare Ribs with Steamed Rice and Hot And Sour Soup. This Lunch Special item comes with an Egg roll

Conveniently located off Beltway 8 and Wilson Rd, I generally come in here when I'm in the mood for the Boneless Spare Ribs. I'm a fan of the American-Chinese cuisine, especially from the NY/NJ area, and the fried rice is made differently up north, so I stick with the steamed rice at China Star. Check it out! Their vegetables and ingredients taste fresh, and the service is quick.

If there really was a General Tso, he probably would go to China Star for lunch, especially if his lunch break was only one hour (food and service is quick!). Coworkers and I defaulted into trying this place after driving to Chic-Fil-A next door and discovering that it was closed due to construction. It was a safer option than Taco Bell. No regrets too! We all ordered from the lunch special menu, served 11:00 am - 3:00 pm everyday. The lunch special offers a wide assortment of Americanized Chinese cuisine such as Orange Chicken and General Tso. Best part is that each lunch special includes a bowl of hot soup (egg drop, hot and sour, or wonton), rice (white or fried), and egg roll for $7.31 (after tax)! Not bad for the amount of food you get. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, because who can resist? The dish came out really quick and hot. Portion size was large with a fair amount of rice to meat ratio. The General Tso's chicken is really good and what you would expect from the dish. It doesn't compare to how my favorite Americanized Chinese restaurant makes it (Chinese Star at UH main campus), but it's still really good for the price. Service is quick. Everything from ordering, water refills, food arriving, to check. We were in and out of there in less than one hour, making it an ideal spot for casual business lunch with coworkers. Overall, this place is a top choice for lunch breaks at work. The food is good, comes out quick, and has great value on lunch special.

New to the area food looks good can't wait to try it, I love Chinese food. They have over hundreds of things to choose from.

    Scallops

They gave 1 scallop with the Happy Family and 8 small scallops equal to about 3 with the scallop with snow peas which had mixed veggies and not just snow peas. When we called the customer service rep was very rude.DO NOT EAT HERE!

Food was the opposite of fresh but tasty. Too much salt in the food. The price is very affordable. Egg rolls are good.

I've done Peking…read moreCuisine for years and shifted to Arco for my duck cravings, but if you're willing to drive out to Humble (pretty much anytime you're in the IAH area), you gotta check out Bamboo House for the best Peking duck. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

Left No Grain of Rice Behind (and Met a Track Star)…read more (10/10) My husband and I wandered into Imperial China on a quiet night - just us two lovebirds and the immaculately clean scent of... well, perfection. Seriously, the place smelled so fresh you could probably perform surgery in the dining room (don't worry, they stick to cooking, which is way more impressive). But the real MVP was Kendall She ran the register, served us, and basically orchestrated our entire evening with the grace of a future Olympic athlete... which, as it turns out, isn't far off! She mentioned she used to run track and is getting back into it. Let me tell you, that explains everything. The speed at which she refilled our water? Blink-and-you-miss-it. The efficiency of her service? Faster than the hurdles she used to jump over. We half-expected her to hand us our fortune cookies while doing hurdle drills over the chairs! Kendall, if you're reading this - you're amazing, and please save some gold medals for the rest of us mere mortals. Now, the FOOD. Oh. My. Wok. We're usually "leftover champions" at Chinese restaurants - it's practically our marital duty. But not this time. We ordered the Combination Fried Rice loaded with goodies) and the Hunan Chicken (spicy, savory, downright addictive). It was so unbelievably delicious, so flawlessly cooked, that we licked our plates clean. Seriously. Not a single grain of rice, not a stray pepper, not even a suspiciously saucy smudge escaped. Our dog is currently giving us the stink-eye because there were zero take-home boxes. Zero! Imperial China broke our leftover streak, and we're not even mad. And as if the universe was nodding along, our fortune cookie sealed the deal: Thursday will bring trust on your new journey." Considering our journey involved demolishing enough food for three people and meeting a future track legend, we'd say it's already pretty darn trustworthy! Overall 10 out of 10. Flawless cleanliness, food that made us abandon all dignity (and leftovers), service faster than Kendall's personal best, and a fortune that felt weirdly on-point. Imperial China, you've won our hearts, our stomachs, and our clean plate awards. We'll be back... probably on Thursday. Just in case.
