Updated Review I originally left a review after stopping by Saigon Cafe on Friday (3/13/26) around 9:15 PM and finding they had already closed even though their posted hours said 10 PM. That experience was frustrating at the time because I made the trip specifically based on their listed hours. However, I revisited on Sunday (3/15/26) and finally got the chance to try the food. I've been so excited seeing the different restaurants popping up in the new Groves shopping center. My husband was hoping this local spot would be a regular for my pho and spring rolls fix. We were not impressed with the overpriced menu. I get it we live in an up and coming trending area but at least be somewhat competitive to other pho places in Humble. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls, special 2 Meat Pho (tendon & rare Wagyu beef) and the Black Pepper Ribeye. It came out to $45 not terrible, but the 2meat pho was $17. Shrimp spring rolls $8.75! So, you're basically paying for the "Wagyu" beef but I'm good with just eye round beef the traditional pho meats. I'll keep going to my favorite The Pho Vietnam Kitchen for my Large Loyal pho (eye round, brisket, flank steak, tendon, & meatballs for $14.95! I asked for no cabbage in my spring rolls because they were out of lettuce and they accidentally put cabbage in it. I wasn't too keen on them making the spring rolls on just the edge of a metal table that didn't look an actual prep table. They asked me if I wanted bean sprouts and fixings for my pho. It wouldn't be pho without the fixings and they still forgot to put all the pho fixings on my take out order. The rare Wagyu was just sitting on top of my noodles. Usually other pho places would at least place it in a plastic baggie or separate to not cross contaminate. Lastly, while I waited for my food I saw their staff go into the restroom with their aprons on. No, thanks I won't be returning. I tried calling the number on their website to let them know it's a major health code, but nobody would answer. Needless to say, we won't be returning. read more

Went to Saigon cafe on 7/18/26. food came out quick but was confused when we didn't get asked if we wanted any drinks?? I asked the waiter if we could get some water and he pointed around the corner of the register and said there's water over there. I asked if he could bring us some and we then got water in small styrofoam cups but I guess it's a self serve situation. The vermicelli bowl was good but the pho broth was way too sweet and the noodles were much larger than typical pho noodles. Much better options for pho in the area. The egg rolls were nothing special but the 1 star is due to there being a bug in the lettuce that was on the plate with the egg rolls. We had already eaten two egg rolls by this point. I took a picture of it and went up to the register but no one was there.. i waited for a minute but eventually went to the side and saw two workers sitting on the floor in the kitchen. They got up when they saw me and i showed them the picture and they both just stared at me not knowing what to say or do. I assume it was the manager or owner that they called, but another man came from the back and I explained to him that the bug was on our plate in between two pieces of lettuce. He also looked stunned and stared at me for a bit and then proceeded to ask me, "Was it alive." I said yes it was alive it was moving. Then he asked "could it fly?" I said yes it flew away but it came out of two pieces of lettuce as if it had been there the whole time. He then proceeded to say "Well I washed and prepped that lettuce myself this morning." He then said "So what do you want, some macaroons?" I was stunned by this response because of the lack of an apology or urgency to fix this issue as any bug no matter dead or alive or flying or not is very disgusting!!! I then asked if we could just have the egg rolls refunded since we didn't finish them and he said okay and gave us a refund. Horrible experience!! Service was just terrible we never got asked if the food was good or if we needed anything the entire time we were eating it was like no one was working.... I recommend V bistro on 1960 or The Pho in summer wood instead!!!! read more

The food was just ok, simple Vietnamese flavors. The spring rolls were nice sized but it was so overpriced. Too many other pho places with better food for less money. Plus this is a counter service restaurant so it just felt so basic although the girl was friendly! read more

I had the Lemon grass Banh Mi to go. Their bread is baked fresh daily and you sure could tell, so good! Warm and crispy on the outside soft inside. Their food is wrapped so carefully, it was warm and fresh when I got home. Very fresh veggies and the chicken was so good. Next time I think I will order without peppers had a little spice for me Very nice staff and great service, and their drinks looked amazing, can't wait to try more. read more

I had a picture but deleted it because I don't plan on coming back. Went on a weekday around 7, and there was another family there and a few pickups that went by. I was so excited to try it out but it fell short. The food was basic and overpriced. I thought it was weird that they took the order and called me up each time something on my order was ready. I got up a total of 4 times to get my whole order. I also heard the microwave go on a few times so that wasn't nice to hear. Nothing really tasted fresh and the spring rolls were huge but barely had meat or anything in it if that makes sense. The boba was good though, no complaints on that. Not sure why the low reviews. We were quietly complaining about the prices ourselves when we sat down, but then they brought us our massive portions. Everything was great. I typically cant stand pork egg rolls, but I loved theirs. The chicken pho broth is unique, a bit on the sweeter side and heavier on the star anise, which is fantastic. Their dark meat chicken is tender and also generously sliced. Really excited to have this place so close by, we will be coming back for sure. read more

We came shortly after they opened, the service was extremely slow and food took long to come out even though there was not a lot of customers. The lady was nice and apologetic but it took long to get our food. The vermicelli bowl was delicious and unfortunately they were NOT serving pho at the time. Spring rolls are good but wrapped loosely so hard to eat. I struggle with this rating. I ordered several things for myself and a friend. I asked if the lemon grass chicken was breast or thigh meat, the girl at the register stared blankly and turned to her co-worker who was preparing orders, who replied "It's both". It was not in fact both...it was solely thigh meat. Owners should train their staff on ingredients in their menu items. Oh well, I ate the noodles and veggies. Next up, the tofu banh mi. Absolutely bland. No garlic flavor in the aioli. The tofu should have been either shredded or sliced into thin planks to absorb maximum flavor...because it had none. Seeds removed from the jalapeños, so no heat. Just all around disappointing. My friend had the steak salad, no chargrill flavor on the meat but he liked it, said it had a slightly sweet teriyaki-like flavor. Didn't try it so can't report on that. Lastly, my favorite part of the order...the taro milk tea! Awesome! Not too sweet, tasted highly of jasmine, which I liked. Boba itself was not sweet, but was soft and chewy. I can't stand hard and grainy boba. Sooooo...I would return, but for drinks ONLY (and possibly to try the dessert cups). I would give my drink a 5, but my food a 1. So 3 it is! Also, I did notice a girl behind the counter (who was probably a relative of the owner) doing ABSOLUTELY nothing...while one girl was on the register and another was assembling orders. Literally just standing around staring at people, employees and customers included. This had nothing to do with my service, but sucks for her co-workers.
