One of the absolute BEST Vietnamese spots in all of Houston hands down! The shaking beef here is on another level. Perfectly seared, tender, and bursting with flavor easily the best I've had in the city. Their grilled shrimp is top tier: juicy, smoky, and seasoned just right. And don't sleep on the fried spring rolls crispy, flavorful, and addictive. Everything is fresh, fast, and packed with flavor. Whether you're a pho regular or just looking to try something new, Vn Wich Café delivers every time. This place deserves way more hype definitely a must visit in Houston!

Amazing and friendly service. Food was made to order and very tasty. I got the seafood pho with the spring roll and it was delicious! The vibe was very good, quiet and sweet. 10/10 definitely stopping by again whenever I have a chance!

I come to this place pretty often and has become my top lunch spot while coming to the office. My co workers family knows the owners as well. The place is nice, plenty of condiments on the tables. Self serve drinks/water and utensils. The menu above where you order doesn't include the banh mi so be sure to ask. I've had the chicken and pork banh mis from here before and they were decent but the highlight of my lunch recently was the meatball banh mi. They were plentiful juicy and packed with flavor. The bread was super fresh, light and airy with the perfect non-roof of mouth-tearing crisp when you bite down. The banh mis took awhile to come to the table but it was worth the wait! Don't skip the meatball banh mi and try it when you can!!!!

The food is great, my wife had the meatball banh mi and she said it was wonderful. I had the chicken pho, the flavor of the broth was really good, the chicken was a bit dry but overall I'd say it was a 10/10. I will definitely be returning! We also got lavender milk tea as well as honey green tea which were both delicious as well! If you're considering this place, you should definitely give it a try!

Not great, $30 bucks for a meal which isn't bad except they skimp out on the meat. Flavor was okay. Also, was crazy hot in there.

But drinks, spring rolls, banh mi, vermicelli/rice plates are also their jam. Definitely on the pricier side for Vietnamese food and not truly authentic (but guess it's pretty far from Alief / Bellaire here), but I enjoyed the flavors anyways! ** 5 spice tofu vermicelli: this beautiful plate came with big fluffy pieces of tofu that were nicely fried, but the tofu itself had only a hint of the 5 spice flavor. It came with a very sweet, light fish sauce (?) that amped up the flavor, and there are sriracha and hoisin sauces on each table if needed. The medley of carrots, cabbage, and cilantro added some crunch and color. It wasn't oily or overly filling, and I'm happy I tried it :) ** BBQ pork banh mi: solid banh mi with some pickled veggies inside. Take out the jalepeno if you don't like spicy! The pork is a little on the fattier side. We added a fried egg as suggested by the staff (man, eggs are expensive right now!), and it was a little overcooked since we usually like the slightly runny yolk for banh mi. The bread wasn't overly crispy that it poked the roof of your mouth. ** Shrimp tempura: more of a fried shrimp than the Japanese tempura style, but still tasty! These came piping hot with pickled carrots too. Doesn't taste very "shrimpy," which may be good depending on who you ask. It's a clean and sort of fun, airy atmosphere. You order at the cashier first and the water, utensils, boxes, etc are self-serve. The staff were friendly. Definitely bring a jacket-- they had fans circulating cold air and it was chilly! Would return for their lunch offerings if in the area and to try the drinks and bubble waffles :D

For the latter, it's gotten to a point where no other Vietnamese spot has come close in terms of pho. For pho seekers who happen to be in Humble, Pho Dien 1960 is an absolute must. The place is small, but they've stacked their small dining room into a very group friendly setup consisting of small booths and tables. The stale air quality is reminiscent of old school spots around town and the young Viet guys running the joint keep the place friendly and efficient. In terms of the pho, there are no complaints. The broth skews somewhat sweet, but it's aromatic enough for me to normally slurp it completely dry. Their best asset has been the meat, which is excellent. Their combination dac biet is an excellent variety that includes meatball, tripe, flank, and some of the best rare steak and tendon I've had. The latter is buttery and smooth enough to where I can't get enough. I tend to order it in their XL (xe lua) size, which is an off-menu item that goes for nearly $20 ($19.45) and is one of the largest bowls I've seen. I always look forward to getting it. While their banh mi and bun dishes are not nearly the same caliber, they still pass the test as a quality offering. The cha gio is a bit paltry, without any greens and a small bowl of semi-spicy nuoc mam (fish sauce). Their Vietnamese coffee is chocolate-y, and perfect for to-go. Their weekday lunch combo special is a good deal, in which one can come in for a small or medium sized pho and get an order of two cha gio or goi cuon with an iced tea. Parking is really easy on the weekends, especially since most of the businesses in the strip mall are closed. It may feel a tad more expensive ($12-18 per most entrees) but this is the price one pays in suburbia without having to head to any of the enclaves.

Searching for a banh mi sandwich with tofu for a quick lunch takeout, I was pleased to see that the restaurant was close to interstate 45 for a quick stop on the way back to Houston (timing is everything to beat the traffic in this area - IYKYK). I ended up ordering both the tofu vermicelli and a tofu banh mi because obviously, you need to try more than one thing. It was fine. Out of the two dishes, the vermicelli was my favorite. It came with a generous portion of noodles, a small lettuce and shredded carrot salad, several large wedges of tofu in a kind of curry sauce, and the classic vermicelli sauce to drizzle over the whole dish. The flavor was good, although what I would consider a slight deviation from traditional flavors, and overall filling. Vermicelli is always a dependable choice and I was satisfied with this dish. The tofu banh mi, however was nothing special. I prefer the bread to be a bit more crispy on the outside with a soft interior and this one was fairly soft all over. Inside, the tofu really needed more seasoning, seemingly cooked without any added flavors except for the fried finish. I added some hoisin sauce but still it needed something more. I'm always eager to try new places but not sure that this one will be a repeat for me.
