Chicken pho
Olesya P.

Nice little place for a quick lunch. Inside it's very clean, organized and pleasant. Staff very sweet and attentive. The menu is pretty large and has a good selection of some Vietnamese and some Thai dishes. I don't think I would come here for Thai dishes but they do have a few. They also have boba tea if you are into it. I ordered a small plate chicken pho, arrived very quickly in and was huge! For the price you pay you definitely get a lot! Their tables organized very well, not like other similar places. I went to a few similar pho places and they all were dirty and busy, but this one was very pleasant and organized. Pho was very tasty, flavorful and had lots of chicken inside. I work near by so will definitely come back. They also didn't use anything plastic, everything I got was reusable which was amazing. I am tired of asking places to stop giving me plastic utensils, etc.

This pho place is deep west Brandon. The most intriguing item is the money bags. The item look like sag bag. It is good presentation that come with 3 pieces. I think they can improve on the thickness of the wrapping skin. Our entrées are the Hu Tieu with pork. Stir fry flat noodles. I like the sauce on it. We also got shank beef. I like this dish the best. It is almost like shaken beef. Both dish come with rice top with fried garlic. One thing for sure is the quantity can increase a bit. Service is good. Food delivered to table quickly.

Grilled chicken and broken rice

Decided to give this place a try being in the neighborhood. Service was good and the ambiance was your basic Asian restaurant, nothing special. I felt like the restaurant had a smell to it, as if they mopped the floor with dirty water. We ordered the crab Rangoon s and egg rolls for appetizers. The crab Rangoon tasted different not bad just different since they add sweet potato in it. The egg roll looked more like a spring roll and had very little filling. I had the beef flat noodles and it tasted good but had too many onions. I felt like they didn't give me enough noodles and the extra onions made it look like it was a good size portion when in fact it was just onions. The grill chicken and rice was okay but their fish sauce was sweet which took away from the flavors.

I most likely won't be back to this pho restaurant. I should know better than to order a large if I don't know if I'm going to actually like the restaurants version of the soup, but alas I ordered a large of the vegetable pho. They gave the option of beef or vegetable broth and I selected vegetable. I am not a pho connoisseur but what I do know is that pho is really nothing without the broth. I'll say it again...Pho is NOTHING without an excellent broth. Almost all pho has the same ingredients, but the broth is really what makes the dish. Most pho broth is boiled for hours to meld the flavors together. This broth had no character and I knew instantly that I was not going to be able to finish a large bowl of the soup. It almost felt...inauthentic. No heartiness, no star anise, no anything. Just bland vegetable broth that tasted like it came off a store shelf. I did like the bok choy, Napa cabbage, carrots, and scant amount of onions that were in the broth. Speaking of scant, they only gave a very small amount of bean sprouts and one sprig of Thai basil with 4-6 small leaves on it. I also ordered two vegetable fresh spring rolls which came with a peanut sauce. Those were OK but I've always seen them made with Thai basil and tofu in the roll and it ended up being a bunch of cabbage and lettuce and a few carrots wrapped in a rice paper. The waitress came to bring the check and thought I was still working on my large bowl. I let her know I was done. She asked if I wanted a to go container. Pho is not good if you take it to go since the noodles continue to absorb the broth and start to break down in the container. So that's a no for me. Unapologetically, I give two stars because at the end of the day there was food and some of the elements of the food were pleasant and at least I had something on my stomach.

I'm so happy to have another pho restaurant so close to home. I've visited twice and was impressed. More so the second time when trying the Money Bags appetizer which is so unique. I loved the pork filling with the bits of coconut. The outer wrapper was so crispy. The fried spring rolls were also amazing and full of pork and chicken. They have veggie spring roll options that I also want to try. I was also super happy with their passion fruit drink. It was so refreshing and it had freshly squeezed passion fruit pulp. What a treat! The Vietnamese iced coffee was also a winner for me. They have boba drinks on the menu but they didn't have any when I was there. They just opened so maybe they don't have everything set up for boba drinks yet. The pho was served hot and fresh each time. The first time I was there I had the seafood pho. It had shrimp, scallops, calamari, fish cakes, and krab sticks. I thought the broth was full of flavor and even had notes of black pepper in it. The medium sized bowl was more than enough for me. The second time I had the chicken pho which was also really good. It was all chicken breast and no thigh meat. This time it had some crispy fried onion pieces in it. It really added to the flavor. Now, I can't wait for a third visit so that I can try the filet mignon or vegetable/tofu pho. What made me even happier is that my husband was impressed with the food. At first I thought he was going to order Thai which is his favorite. They have a whole list of Thai entrees on the menu. But no, he decided to order the stir fried flat noodle dish with pork. I wish I had taken a picture of it. They certainly didn't skimp on the pork. It was a very generous portion. He added some of the spices provided at the table which kicked up the spice level. He really enjoyed it. I think his only complaint is that they don't have an online menu yet, but he was told that they are working on it. Oh yes, and the service was also fantastic. They are so nice and so very helpful with any questions we had on the menu items. I also like that the menu is clearly marked for vegetarian and gluten free options which is also great. So, Pho 60 is located on SR 60 in Valrico. It's in the Main Street Shoppes where BubbaQue's is located but it's kind of tucked away and hidden on the west side of the plaza. It's a hidden gem for sure. There are so many more things off the menu that I want to try like the salted shrimp and the calamari. It's great to have a place like this in Valrico.

Brisket & steak pho

Easy, non-fussy place to get pho in the Brandon area. I ordered the steak and brisket pho and enjoyed it after adding all my usual condiments. I do feel like I added more than usual for extra flavor but the broth was nice. Also everything is at an extremely fair price point. I only deduct a star for the service. We were seated and the waitress did not come to take our drink order for at least 15 minutes. Though they are friendly, it seemed perhaps short-staffed at the time. I would return for when my next pho craving kicks in.

First time coming here and I was not impressed. I didn't even want to order anything after trying the appetizer. I had my friend try one as well and she even agreed it wasn't good. Charged for something we didn't eat...

Money bags appetizer with sauce
Tee L.

They recently opened. -The money bags appetizer was super crispy and delicious. My 8 year old ate them all and didn't want to share. They have pork in them. It's like an extra crispy dumpling or egg roll, I guess. Delicious inside and outside. -The fresh rolls were good. I like their peanut sauce. I do wish they gave a little more sauce. It comes with shrimp but we have an allergy. -Clay fish pot - I would not recommend. This is nothing like I grew up eating. The fish was dry and very lean, I guess. The flavor lacked the caramelization it needs. The flavor was like...soy sauce and extra ginger and lots of pepper. It tasted how it looks. Viet Kitchen has the best clay pot fish I've had in Tampa Bay Area. -Pho - it was decent. A bit on the sweet side. Lime juice helped cut the sweetness. The meat is pretty tender and pretty good. I would probably get the pho if I go back. -I saw banh mi on the menu. I definitely want to try next time. -Vietnamese iced coffee was good. -Service is pretty good. Very friendly waiter. I only saw one waiter for the whole restaurant. There were other staff helping to clean though. The inside is pretty clean. But it was kind of hot inside like I'm back in Vietnam or something. -There is a parking lot. It's very dark at night and hard to see. It's not lit very well so be careful in the evenings trying to find the entrance and exit.

Pho and bun bo hue

A hidden gem in Brandon! Please ignore negative reviews on this place. It's a relatively new opening in Brandon, but it's head and shoulders above pretty much everywhere else in terms of taste, portions, cleanliness and hospitality! They are a fairly small staff and family run, which made for a slight wait. Our first time here we tried the banh mi and the pho. The banh mi is seriously high caliber. The baguette was super airy, flaky and fresh, buttery, and the pork was great as well. Beware of the spice - they slap a whole jalapeño in there and it can be hot but it is delicious. The pho, along with everything else, is fresh and very generously portioned. The broth is delicious and really authentic tasting. As close to Vietnam as you can get. The staff, even though they are small, manage to make you feel like family. I really want this place to flourish. Be sure to stop here for authentic Viet.

Pho with Baby Beef Rib - Delicious
Tony N.

We came for lunch and had pretty good Vietnamese and Thai food. The Pho with beef brisket was delicious. I got the medium bowl which was plenty for me. Comes with nice large meaty rib and broth was well made and temperature hot. The banh mi sandwiches I thought were bit on small side for the price and only reason I didn't give them a 5 star overall rating. My friend got the panany curry and and thought it was really good, good portion size and enought to bring home for an extra meal. Service was fast and friendy. Food comes out fast too, probably 5 minutes after ordering.

Garnishes (Jalapeños, Bean Sprouts, Basil, Lime)

Have you ever have Pho, a Vietnamese noodle bowl? No...? Are you Pho Real?! Well listen, this is my absolutely FAVORITE miracle soup. A delicacy that will heal just about any unhappy tummy. If you're feeling the winter blues, have a cold, or just are looking for some warmth in your life, I suggest you grab a bowl! Made with a rich bone broth, served with rice noodles, beef brisket, red onions, green onions, and a concoction of other delicious herbs, this soup is incredibly aromatic. With garnishes like bean sprouts, basil leaves, lime, and jalapeños, you can customize the soup to your liking. I enjoy this soup when I am feeling down as it always cheers me up, and better yet, my favorite part is the bone broth as it is very good for the body and has an abundance of vitamins and minerals! I have probably eaten at more than 10 different pho restaurants while in Tampa, and I've discovered that every restaurant has their own variation to make their pho their own. This location serves up a delicious bowl of the traditional delicacy, and will leave you with a HappyTummy indeed!

Crab Rangoon

I ordered at 12:30 and was told my food would be ready in 30 minutes. I showed up at 1:05 and have waited 40 more minutes and still no food. This is ridiculous. Hopefully the food will be delicious. I'll update when I get to eat. Oh and they charge $1 for every to go container. I'm done whether the food is awesome or not. Every item I received was Luke warm at best. No spice/heat at all. This was truly a disappointment.

Great food in a distant Brandon mini mall…read more My daughter had an away soccer game in Lithia, and so we decided to try TasteaPho for lunch on our way home. The location was such that we usually pick a more convenient restaurant, but this time, everything lined up! The restaurant was empty when we arrived (noon on a Saturday), and it stayed mostly empty throughout our meal. I think they mostly do takeout and delivery service. We ordered: fried shrimp, french fries, edamame, soup dumplings, siu mei, and beef chow fun. And a couple drinks. The food came out quickly and piping hot. The edamame were slightly overcooked. Everything else was perfect and delicious. Everything was very tasty. Serving sizes were very good. We had a LOT of leftovers, which all heated up well. I wish this was located closer to a freeway and/or closer to the places in Brandon that we do go to, but it is worth the drive. I've already recommended the place to my parents and sister.

The staff was really friendly and welcoming. Now on to do dumplings. They had a sign that said everything is made in house, but I've been to places where they say that and it doesn't taste homemade. But I can positively say that this food was made in house! These were the best dumplings and shumai i have ever had. They were flavorful and delicious. The shumai mine was the best one I ever had. I really wanted to go back the next day to get more just to take home. The steamed dumplings were really good. I'm more so eat fried dumplings, but I love how good they were and I love the sauce that went with it. The shrimp dumplings were really good too and juicy. The dumplings are also bigger than I usually get which was very surprising in a good way because I'm used to really extra small ones. Overall, I will definitely be back in the next couple of days to get more.
