    Almond Croissant

Ate a raspberry danish. Ascended. The pastries are really good. They're flakey, buttery, and sweet. There's a weird fudgey moistness many baked goods have right now that I despise, this has a nice dryness? Currently devouring an almond croissant as I write this. There's a strong almond extract flavor in the middle, bordering boozy that I wish was more subdued, but it's still absolutely delicious.

I really liked the coffee I purchased today. It was really sweet so I would get half of the pumps of marshmallow that they put in. The barista said she would remake it. Instead I drank some coffee and she added a bit more cold brew and my drink was perfect. It was very clean inside with many tables and a comfy small couch and chairs. I met up with my friend here so it was a perfect spot to have a nice chat.

I come to Philz Coffee most Wednesdays to meet with my business partner, and today really stood out because of Heather. I wasn't quite myself, felt a little off and unsure about what I wanted, but Heather's energy and smile immediately made a difference. Beyond that, when I shared what I usually get, she took the time to guide me with thoughtful suggestions and genuine kindness. That level of care goes a long way. It turned my whole experience around. Great service, great attitude, Heather truly represents what customer experience should feel like.

Cute spot super nice quick customer service Was pretty busy and I tried the blueberry breeze which had a yummy sweet and creamy kick to it, Menu is limited and they did have some pastries that looked yummy A cool spot there were tables and places to sit and hang out or work

Very delicious tiramisu latte! Nothing like if ever tried before and it was dairy free! Very nice baristas and good ambiance to sit and do work at. I was worried it would be too sweet but it was surprisingly very well balanced!

Sure, Starbucks used to be here but this is a better, more bright, and airy spot that is welcomed and appreciated. I popped in here recently and absolutely loved the mushroom focaccia pastry. For just $5, I was pleasantly impressed and fed for lunch. So, give it a try the next time you're in the area. It seems like a great place to catch up with friends but not filled with lice who work there all day and bring their own food. (I see you Starbucks' loser patrons, across from Cam High.) It's small but there is outdoor seating. Philz is filled with friendly staff who understand customer service. See website for more information. Free parking in big lot.

Philz has many locations throughout Cali but this is the first one in Thousand Oaks. And this is my first time at this location tucked away in a small shopping center off of Moorpark Road. This location use to be Starbucks! There is a small parking lot directly in front of the location. At approximately 7am, the shop was actually pretty quiet. I know their other locations can be very busy- with long lines, so perhaps this was unusual. When busy, its best to plan ahead and order on their app. This is my go-to place for chai. Unlike Starbucks, they use real tea rather than chai out of a box. Also, you can modify the tea by adding milk and sweetness preference. I prefer my chai to have cream and a bit of honey. The coffees at Philz is good too-real strong coffee. The location is brightly decorated but has limited light as it's a long space. If you seek some light, grab a seat outside or by the window up front. The seating did not look particularly comfortable so perhaps a place where you grab and go rather than hunker down for some work. See you next time!

We had a reservation but got seated shortly after the reservation time. If you don't have a reservation, expect to wait at least 30+ minutes. The food is definitely worth the wait. We got the salmon and poached eggs waffle, the smores waffle, original, and the Benny Bought a Farm waffle. All was delicious!!!!! They have homemade lemonades as well. Their side of potatoes was also super yummy. Just a note that I requested decaf coffee and it comes from an instant coffee machine and tastes very artificial--not what you expect for the price. We asked about it and they were very kind and offered to replace it with another drink for free. We would love to come back again next time we're in Newbury Park for breakfast!

The…read morehostess informed my partner that there were 3 parties ahead of us with reservations so it would probably be about a 15-20 min wait. We figured that's perfect since it's our reservation time anyway. 11am rolls around and we still hadn't been called or got a text that our table was ready. My partner goes back in to see how much longer, and they weren't able to provide an estimated wait time, only confirmation that we were checked in. We were finally seated at 11:25am, with sincerest apologies for the wait and first round of drinks on the house, which was a really nice gesture. Our waiter, Oscar, greeted us and immediately said his boss told him free drinks on the house, and asked what we wanted. I can't tell you how much I really appreciated not only the gesture, but the message being passed down the chain of command. I don't know how many other restaurants I've been to, where we've been told something is on the house due to a mistake and then when we get the bill it isn't. The fact that they made double sure that it was clear we would be compensated a free round a drinks was very impressive to me. Great customer service, accountability and fantastic leadership. Oscar was a great server too. He told us to scan the QR code on the menu because it had picture options, and there were items there that weren't on the menu. After each person placed our order, he'd made comments such as "that's one of my favorites!" or "I really like that one!" which was a nice confirmation that he is knowledgeable on what we are ordering. At one point, he brought our waters and said that the bartenders were still making our drinks, but after he took our order he was going to help the bartender. Again, great customer service, work ethic, and team work. Now onto the food. In terms of drinks we ordered two watermelon lemonades, a cold brew and coffee. For food, we ordered The Gravy Train, Chicken and Waffles, You Had Me at Burger, Benny Met A Cali Girl, and Waffle Cute. I really enjoyed the food. Let me tell you, every single person at our table cleared their plate. Apparently, today our table was feeling very savory, but I would love to go back and try some of their sweeter options. My personal standout was the seasoned potatoes. I'm the type of gal who needs to try a bite of my everything my partner orders and when I took one bite, I somehow finished his entire side of seasoned potatoes. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside with a good amount of potato (not too much, not too little) on the inside. I loved them. Maybe this was just bad timing on our part because it was a holiday, and we came at lunch time, but I did notice it did take a long time to receive our food. We received our food at 12:07pm. I can't remember exactly what time we placed our food order, but if we were seated at 11:25am, 45 minutes seems like quite a wait to order and for the food to arrive. I imagine if the bartender was backed up, the kitchen was probably too. Overall, I think if you don't have any plans for the rest of the day, or if they're flexible, definitely give this place a try. When I think "brunch" this is the exact type of food I want in terms of quality and quantity. I also felt like the price was fairly priced for what we received. Parking is also plentiful and free. Lastly, I was very impressed with the customer service from both management and our waiter.

I was a huge fan of the steak myself, and that's what I chose to order. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the eggs were done just right. The Dutch Baby was also pleasantly sweet, and it was not overly big like some other versions. I would highly recommend both and would definitely stop in again in the future.

The B.A.B. is a great classic breakfast with eggs, crispy potatoes, toasted country bread, and your choice of bacon or sausage patty. I went with the sausage patty. I would've cooked the patty for another minute myself, but it wasn't a problem. Everything else was cooked really well, and those crispy potatoes were especially good. The Mediterranean was completely different but just as enjoyable, with a soft boiled egg, grilled halloumi, hummus, olives, cucumber salad, tomatoes, pita, and sumac. It was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. The grilled halloumi and hummus were probably our favorite parts. We also couldn't resist trying a couple of pastries and ordered the Cheddar Chive Scone and a croissant. Both tasted incredibly fresh. The croissant was buttery and flaky, and the scone had a really nice savory flavor from the cheddar and chives. Sunrose has a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere that makes it a perfect brunch spot, and everything we tried tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back.

I should have made the review before, to remind me that it's not worth it. The service was ok. Our waitress tried her best. She might be better off writing down what people ordered instead of trying to remember things, she missed three things with our party. First, my niece asked, before ordering a pancake combo, if she could get one pancake made with just blueberries and one with just chocolate. Waitress came back and said yes, but that's all she told us.. Second, my wife ordered her corn beef hash with home style potatoes. Instead, the order came to the table with hash browns. I tried her corn beef hash, it was one of the worse ever. Definitely canned stuff, and not made right. It's like someone thought they could make it, so they must went ahead and did it. Third, I ordered a standard burger with onion rings, it came out with fries. For my order, I told the waitress and she got this corrected right away. The burger was just ok. The bun was nice and buttered, brioche. The meat was juicy and cooked medium as requested. It was under-seasoned, but was okay for me as I usually try to get low sodium, but this makes it taste incomplete. Let's talk about my niece's pancakes though, they came out mixed, both blueberries and chocolate in both pancakes instead of two separate pancakes. And when the bill came, I was charged extra charge for each thing. $3 for the chocolate. $3 for the blueberries. Plate came out over $22, that's crazy. Inside is decently clean and large. Lots of space, although maybe it was because we came in a weekday early at 8:45. Anyway, skip it, not worth it. I prefer the local IHOP.

I've been here before, and I've always thought they had some of the best pancakes around. Their soufflé pancakes, especially, are on another level. I've even had the opportunity to try soufflé pancakes in Tokyo, and they were absolutely amazing. But I have to say, Lady C's can definitely compete at that level--and for me, Lady C's still takes it. That's saying a lot considering how good the ones in Tokyo were. The best part? I don't have to travel thousands of miles to enjoy an incredible soufflé pancake! One thing to know: be prepared to wait. It can easily take 30-45 minutes, especially for certain pancakes. Just be patient. Good food takes time, and here, it's absolutely worth it. This time I decided to skip the soufflé pancakes and ordered the peanut butter banana pancakes instead. I kid you not--these were AMAZING. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, covered with bananas and what felt like half a jar of peanut butter! It was rich, heavy, and definitely not a light breakfast, but somehow everything worked together perfectly. If you love peanut butter and banana, you have to try this. I also had corned beef hash with over-easy eggs on the side, and the whole breakfast just hit the spot. It's been a long time since I've sat down after breakfast and thought, "Man, that was REALLY good." This was one of those meals. And it's not just the food. The service really adds to the experience. The servers have this warm, family-friendly way of taking care of you that almost makes you feel like you're having breakfast in someone's home. They're welcoming and attentive without making things feel rushed. My cup of coffee was never empty. Great coffee btw! The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable too--the kind of place where you can settle in, relax, and really enjoy your breakfast. What made this visit even better was having family from Las Vegas with us. They're foodies and are used to the incredible Vegas food scene, so when they told us the food and their experience here were top-notch, that said a lot. New name, same great experience. Lady C's continues to be one of those breakfast places that's worth the wait. Come hungry, be patient, relax, and definitely get the pancakes. I've had great soufflé pancakes in Tokyo, and the fact that Lady C's can stand right there with them--and still come out on top for me--says everything about how good this place is.
