Being able to work close by to Philz has been a blessing! Overall love the coffee and the taste is always consistent and what I'm looking for. The service is super friendly as well, the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that it does take a little longer than expected to get a drink. Maybe it's due to the need to blend different drinks and beans at all times, but it overall is a place I will continue to go to happily.

Philz always hits and this is a very spacious and convenient location near the Chase Center! The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and their drinks are great too - always well-balanced, creamy if you want it to be, and not too sweet (great for taste buds like mine haha). Lots of seating with small tables and chairs with outlets on the walls and plenty of natural light from the huge windows. The only con is that it may take a while for your drink to be made, but it's worth it. Overall: 5/5

SERVICE: baristas are nice & they are very speedy compared to other philz locations i've been to. cashier seemed upset to be there tho DRINKS: this location has never disappointed me :)

This Philz is spacious and has lots of places to sit both inside and a few outside. There's never usually a line here and the drinks come out perfectly and quickly! There's not too many plugs here but if you are looking for somewhere to casually hang out, then this is great for you. It is right next to Chase Center so ideally you'd already be in the area. I wouldn't come park here just for Philz. I love the Mint Mojito, but recently I've been getting the Ecstatic Iced Coffee (because it has one of the highest caffeine contents but sweet chocolate flavor) or the Philtered Soul with a hint of hazelnut. If you have never been to Philz, then just know it's not your typical coffee shop. I always order my coffee "Sweet and Creamy"! If you don't like how your drink comes out, you can always let the barista know and they will remake the drink to your taste. Usually it's always great for me though :)

The iced mint mojito did not have as much flavor as I remember. Perhaps it's because they don't muddle the mint anymore. The bacon and egg burrito was delicious It was nice and hot and big chunks of eggs. The line was t too bad and we did get our drink and food quickly.

    Philz cheese removal policy

I only leave comments when it's truly bad service. I will never understand the entitlement of baristas at Philz, serving coffee and premade food might be the easiest job in SF yet the employees act like coffee divas. Refusing a second cup for my partners hot cup of coffee. Asking to remove cheese from a premade breakfast sandwich, seemed to them like a Herculean effort, as that would require actual work. They legitimately refused to remove a slice of cheese from a breakfast sandwich. Then told us it was against company policy. The greatest part is to encounter a tipping section after all that. I truly hope these employees meet unemployment soon. It's a tough job market, why are you people like this. What happened to customer service? Also here's a screenshot from Philz actual website mentioning they remove cheese.... I'm writing this because I'm upset my partner actually tipped them, but she was worried the ungrateful barista would spit on our food. Happy Saturday!

The bun was soft and pillowy and stuffed with a generous helping of caramelized onions, then topped with a dollop of cream cheese. It was a super fun combo, almost like eating an everything bagel but so, so much better, and the onions really enhanced the flavor profile. The pastries are a lil too expensive (two coffees and a pastry was $30!), but they're a nice treat, especially if you split them. They also have a ton of beautiful toasts and sandwiches that I wasn't quite ready to try (maybe not the best prelude to a racket sport), but I can't wait to come back to try them! It might be a little controversial, but to me, the ambiance of a cafe is most important! And at Sohn, the atmosphere is immaculate. It's very obviously a Korean-style cafe. The interior is washed in a palette of soft neutrals and pale wood. Lots of open spaces, airy lantern light fixtures, fabric tapestries, etc., etc., etc. So beautiful, and so perfect for photos! (My friend and I took lots, believe me.) The only "complaint" I have is that it isn't open seating; an employee will seat you when you arrive, so you can't really choose where you want to settle. Kinda bummed because I wanted to see upstairs. Even though I prioritize cafe aesthetics over food, I'm pleased to report that the food and drinks at Sohn are just as delicious as they look. Style AND substance! There's a QR code at each table, which you scan to order. The workers bring the items to your table directly, which is pretty nice. Here is a rundown of everything we ordered: - Banana oat milk hojicha latte: Wait, why was this so good? It actually might be one of the best drinks I've ever tried. You can tell they use real bananas; there are literally chunks of banana at the bottom. No artificial syrups here. The banana is sweet and creamy, not bitter at all. Plus, it's oat milk! Yay for my fellow lactose-intolerant friends. The hojicha was okay, though. I think that, if it were nuttier, the roasted flavor would've complemented the banana so well, bringing this drink to a whole new level. - Coffee hojicha: Pretty bitter if you don't add syrup, but once it's properly sweetened, it's pretty good. Since their hojicha isn't very flavorful, it's easily overpowered by the coffee, so I wouldn't recommend this one. (Though it's not bad.) - Popcorn chicken: This was so delicious and beautifully presented in a round stone bowl. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the fried rice cakes were a unique inclusion! They are rolled in a seaweed seasoning, which reminds me of furikake. Glad they have savory items, too. - Gochujang cookie: Meh, honestly, you can skip this. It's not a bad cookie per se, but it tastes like a regular ol' sugar cookie. I don't taste the gochujang at all. It's not even a pretty cookie, haha, so I wouldn't even order it for aesthetics either. But overall, I had a great experience at Sohn! I saw a lot of people working on their computers here, but it's also a solid spot for photos or hanging out with friends. Parking wasn't too bad when I went (a weekday afternoon), but I heard the line can get long. I would totally recommend this place, and I hope I can return soon to try more items.
