Tried the iced tiramisu drink. It looked great, but the taste was very weak, more like flavored water than a rich coffee. As a tiramisu lover, I expected a stronger, creamier flavor, so it was disappointing

I enjoyed my coffee and it tasted great! The staff were very polite and I received my drink quickly after ordering in person. My coffee was made just the way I wanted it. I ordered a Julie's Ultimate iced coffee with creamy almond milk, and added sweet sugar. I ordered a coffee at Philz to stay my day. I loved it!

I tried the iced mojito coffee and egg veggie. The breakfast was good. Good customer service and speedy service. It's a very eccentric vibe inside and its cute.

Pork Sausage & Egg Burrito

$12.10 for a coffee and breakfast pastry feels a tad excessive, even for San Francisco! As does $13.58 for a coffee and small breakfast burrito. But the food and drink are yummy, so I guess that's how they get away with it. Bacon Onion Cheese Pretzel Croissant: Tastes more like a croissant than a pretzel, with only a slight pretzel-y taste on the outside. Though a lot going on in this croissant! The browned cheese tastes great. And bacon is always welcome in anything. A very solid breakfast choice. Pork Sausage & Egg Burrito: I appreciated that the burrito was moist inside. Lots of melted cheese and maybe some sauce, though can't be sure. The potatoes tasted freshly cut and cooked. The sausage was in big chunks and full of flavor. Only downside is that it was kinda small, like 1/3 the size of a breakfast burrito you could get at a taqueria. Mocha Tesora: A lot going on in this coffee! A pretty nice dark roast mixed with actual chocolate syrup, for an intense drink. Not perfectly mixed, so a little bit sweeter when you're almost done with it. Perfect if you want both a caffeine buzz and a sugar jolt. Though could be overwhelming if you pair it with a sweet pastry. Honey Haze: Got the default, which used oat milk. Which is kinda weird in concept since there's honey in this drink, so it's already not vegan. It tasted a little lighter than regular iced coffee, but oddly still creamy. Better than soy milk or almond milk for sure. Though next time I may go with the regular cow milk. The coffee itself wasn't too sweet and kind of a light roast. Overall, I preferred the mocha tesora more.

One of my favorite coffees in San Francisco!! Service was good, lots of inside seating as well. Would highly recommend the honey haze!

Philz Coffee is a fancy premium coffee shop. I had their large dark roast coffee $6. The coffee is brewed one cup at a time via a small paper filter like how Blue Bottle does it. I prefer my coffee straight up, no cream or sugar. Their dark roast, "Jacob's Wonderebar" had a unique smokey sweet bitter taste. It was very good coffee. Service was excellent. By the way, large coffee prices around Fidi are: Starbucks $3.45, Peet's $4 and Philz $6.

Bar and waiting area

First time at this Philz and it gets the job done. Lots of foot traffic especially during lunchtime, so I can see why their waiting area is larger than their seating areas. But, maybe this is set up that way because it's more of a commuter coffee spot than chill and hang. Albeit great hip hop music was playing, the music was so loud and couldn't think but more so bust a move! My go to coffee is the philtered soul houseway - very creamy and very sweet - but this time it was made less sweet and had more of a coffee taste which I was good with. Need a quick coffee on the go before heading to your next meeting, this is the spot. Save some time and order ahead.

A pairing of sorts

I had to pair my Philz Coffee with a Noah's Bagel. I mean it's San Fran. The blend I got was ok. The service was great and polite. Not crowded but I think it's bc of the day and time I went. My sis said they are know for their iced peppermint coffee. Sadly which I did not take a pic of. Now... I generally only drink hot coffee. Even in the middle of a hot day in Hawaii. So I didn't expect to order an ice coffee in San Fran which was freezing to me in July... but that iced peppermint coffee is bomb. BOMB. It's not peppermint flavoring. It's fresh peppermint muddled in. Get this coffee!

First of all...huge fan of the food items at Philz. Definitely a step above your average coffee place. Love love the savory items. The coffee is also great ...unique combinations that help get you out of your coffee rut! Great combos WiFi dark chocolate, cherries and way too many to list. Made with care and always with an amazing coffee base. This location is also pretty cool for a co worker coffee date ...and decent patio seating area. The decor is modern and minimalist. Always clean. The service is good and the folks are fast...maybe a bit grumpy and diffident at times..but it's all goods

Excellent service! My only advice is to come and see for yourself. When we called to ask about a…read morewait, they mentioned there was not wait... part of the reason they do that is because they don't keep a list. You either have reservations or you're a walk in and you stand in line until a table is available for you. At first this was strange, but I think it makes for a better experience. The team was incredible, they were so kind on a day that can be stressful for a small restaurant. We had incredible food. I was so happy to get my Eggs Royale and my husband said the French toast was the best he's ever had. (Even comparing it to French toast in Paris) No notes. This will be our Mother's Day place going forward next time with reservations.

My partner and I decided to go to the city one weekend and decided we wanted brunch. After looking…read morethrough some place, we came across Sisterita and it looked very promising. It seems like this place is an asian fusion brunch place incorporating french dishes into thai/asian themed dishes which is up our alley. We made a reservation at 1:45 PM and we had to wait for about an extra 30 minutes before getting seated. Initially, I wanted to try their crab fried rice but unfortunately they were out of crab. We decided to get the Alcatraz Escape and the Brioche french toast which were recommended by the wait staff. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating but I can tell they were swamped and stressed out with all the people they were trying to serve. The food itself tasted decent, the Alcatraz Escape had a tasty flavor which incorporates tom yum paste (sweet, sour, tangy flavor) into their scramble with about 4 shrimps. The side of crispy chicken was good but nothing that stood out to us. The brioche was soft but there wasn't much flavoring besides the fruits and caramelized banana. It was served with evaporated milk which made the brioche soft but not adding much flavor to it. The price however was quite pricey. For two dishes as a side we paid around $78 with tax and tip.

I still love Brenda's!!!!!!!…read more I haven't been back in a few years, but I am happy to report: they are still just as great! It was my daughter's first time and she loved it just as much as I did. We came during restaurant week so we decided to get the Creole Sampler so she could try a bunch of different items. (Sampler included red beans and rice, collard greens, fried catfish, hush puppies, plain beignet and gumbo). We also ordered the beignet flight and shrimp and grits. Plenty of food for the 2 of us, plus we had left overs. I can't not order the shrimp and grits. It's just so damn good! It's so rich and flavorful! It came out SUPER hot. Grits and cheese still bubbling. My daughter and I were both surprised she liked the collard greens. She's usually not a fan. She also liked the red beans and rice and she doesn't usually like beans either. That just goes to show how amazing the food is here! We came in around 4something pm on a rainy Sunday. There weren't many people there, but by the time we left it was more than half full. Service was friendly, and there was a band playing, which was a nice touch.

Let me start with the star of the show - the Shrimp & Grits. The flavors blended so well I did a little dance in my seat. Creamy, savory and delicious! I will be dreaming about the Shrimp and Grits from now on. The Bananas Foster French Toast melted in my mouth. So yummy. I wasn't a fan of the Crawfish Beignets. It was something about the flavor of the red powder/ seasoning that left me underwhelmed. All in all, one of my favorite stops while I was in town.
