I guess the coffee is good if you have time to wait 15-18 minutes..But this is why I never leave a tip cup literally has a whole. They take no pride here.

Philz Coffee on Ocean Avenue is nothing short of legendary! If you are a true coffee lover, like my relatives, especially my uncle who flew in from France; you absolutely must make a pilgrimage here. My cup of coffee was flawless, brewed to perfection, and exactly the way I love it. The chocolate croissant? A masterpiece! But what truly sets this place apart is the warm, stellar service, the spotless shop, and the vibrant, happy atmosphere that makes every sip even better. This isn't just coffee. I's an experience. Highly recommend!

Came in for a bottle of cold brew and it was so quick and easy. They also happened to have little samples out of pastry, it was so yummy. I'll definitely get a pastry next time.

Philz came out w more iced tea flavors just in time for the summer! I really enjoyed the yuzu lemon tea - it was super refreshing and not too sweet. I'm a big fan of the almond croissants at this location as well

Philz's mint mojito is always so delightful. This Philz is my favorite because of its relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. It's perfect for unwinding, reading, and chatting

I got the too good to go mystery bag! It came with a lot of pastries-- these are just 2 of them. Lemon poppyseed muffin was super fluffy and moist. The other pastry was cheesy and super flaky. Both great!

I love Tesora Coffee. It's one of my favorite coffee chains. As a coffee enthusiast, I tend to visit almost every new coffee spot that opens. When I first discovered Philz Coffee, I ended up going there every day for about two weeks to try their coffee.(It was a similar pattern with Blue Bottle.) I tried pretty much all the menu items, and these days I find myself mostly drinking Tesora. The staff and the store atmosphere are relaxed, and the coffee here feels just as free-spirited!

Out and about Sunday morning so I grabbed a philharmonic cold brew (creamy cream and medium sugar) from Philz. The coffee was good - had notes of chocolate and nuttiness. The shop was mostly empty so the service was super quick and plenty of seating. Barista was friendly.

I'm writing a TGTG review of an order I just had. I received 4 muffins for less than $5. It's a bargain but it was also a disappointment. For I have seen others who ordered the TGTG and post it on Yelp and their order has more variety. Overall, the muffins taste good and fresh.

The coffee was awful, it tasted like mud. The staff was nice, but that didn't overcome the awful coffee.

Like everywhere else in SF, you have to pay for street parking but it's free after 6pm! The vibes inside are of a typical coffee shop and there is a good amount of tables and seats! The barista makes each drink one at a time, so it could take a while to order and get your drinks, but it just shows that they are very intentional with their drinks! I was super excited to find out that Ballast Coffee is actually a Filipino coffee shop that serves Barako Coffee, which I believe they source from the Philippines. They also sell barako bean roast blends for $20 in case you wanted to make it at home! Since they use Filipino barako beans, I had to order their Ube iced latte and Ube hot chocolate! The coffee had a slightly fruity yet chocolatey undertone that made it really delicious with the Ube! I do think that the coffee had a lighter taste to it, so it let the ube taste stand out more. My favorite was the Ube hot chocolate because it was super decadent and warming! I'll definitely be back at Ballast Coffee to study more and to also try their Ube Mocha as well as other drinks!

The empanada wasn't heated long enough and the inside was still a bit cold. There were cubes of beef inside but I didn't think it had enough seasoning. Wouldn't order the beef empanada again. The ube lattes were OK but I think their regular coffee drinks taste better. It's a nice place to meet with a friend or two and have coffee and a conversation if you ca. get table seating not occupied by people with their PCs for hours.

Today I dropped our recently senior rescued dog for his first grooming for us. I came upon an "Old Friend" Java on Ocean Coffee. The café is at the corner or Ocean Avenue and Faxon across the street from the former Walgreens which means amble parking! Java On Ocean Coffee is a classic San Francisco coffee place which has much more than coffee to order. There is a selection of savory breakfast items, sandwiches and smoothie! Given it was after 3 pm I ordered a Mexican Mocha and an oatmeal cookie. The café was fairly packed with nearby Riodan High School students studying about American history "New Deal" with great enthusiasm and laughter! There are 15 tables and plenty of seating including several outside but given the May gray day I cozyed under a poster of famous Mexican artist Frieda to drink my Mexican Mocha today. I look forward to future exploring Ocean Avenue including getting a smoothie or sandwich at the café!

Cash only or venmo. When it gets busy, the order can take a bit of time, but with this, patience is a virtue and really, it is just one guy and he's super nice. The spot is a small, cozy place for a nice small brunch with a few friends. FOOD: All crepes that I've tried here are pretty dang good. Each one with a side of a simple garden salad that helps lighten up your plate and a nice serving of potatoes that are your standard breakfast potatoes but done well. Crepe itself is light and crispy, each filled with a very solid amount of well thought out combination of fillings that are each cooked to perfection. Most recently I had the puttanesca, which was served with a side of sour cream. This combination of flavors with the cheese, mushrooms, and sour cream was an excellent way to start my day. I've also had the curry crepe as well which is also an interesting combination but overall delicious as well. A bit more depth of flavor with the curry. Overall, a super cute place to have a nice brunch. The owner is super kind and does a great job with this place. I will definitely be back - see you there.

It would really help if they had printed menus and clearer descriptions of what comes with each plate. Also, they only accept cash or Venmo, a sign outside letting customers know ahead of time would be helpful. The food itself was okay but pretty bland. The omelets and potatoes lacked seasoning, and the toast was just plain buttered bread. Overall, it felt basic for the price. Unfortunately, we probably won't be returning, as there are other better breakfast spots nearby that offer more value and flavor.
