I love this location. They have the chamomile tea. The ingredients are divine with a little honey and a mint leaf . Service is excellent and the place is cute with plenty of space to sit. Parking can be difficult but overall you can find parking in lot of have to.
Ordered Doordash and my order arrived less than half an hour surprisingly! The carrier that my drinks came in was very sturdy and I really enjoyed the paper packaging. Drinks were a little pricey so expect to pay $7+! I enjoyed that there were ice and sugar adjustments available and milk substitutions at no extra charge! Got the Honey Haze ($7.45) and it was just cold brew with honey and oat milk. I ordered a small with creamy oat milk and medium honey. However, it still seemed a bit too sweet for my preference. The coffee tasted like regular coffee I would get at a convenience store and nothing special. The Iced Coffee Rose ($7.45) was cold brew with a rose cream top. I requested it with light rose oat milk and light sugar. However, it still seemed too sweet. The rose cream top didn't taste floral at all. The coffee was nothing special so I definitely won't recommend. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my drinks and I felt like the drinks were overpriced so I won't recommend or return unfortunately.
This Philz Coffee is right by my home, and I've been coming here since they opened. I even had the chance to meet Phil at their grand opening. I usually enjoy their pastries, and the staff is always helpful. It's a great place to get some work done on your computer or just relax and enjoy your coffee. I also like getting their Too Good To Go deals, and today I picked up four pastries: a Dubai chocolate croissant, a chocolate chip cookie croissant, a butter croissant, and a blueberry muffin. Such a great deal, and everything tasted delicious! Definitely check this place out when you're in the area.
Stopped by again for a quick iced mint mojito with oatmilk. The drink came out perfectly ! Great ambiance. It's almost always packed so might be hard to get a table. Service was good. Lisa was friendly! Parking is a challenge.
My friend and I stopped by this cute coffee shop while we were waiting for a dinner reservation. I must say, I love walking into a coffee shop and you smell the coffee beans. It just shows how real and quality the coffee is. They have lots of different options and we got the pistachio croissant warmed and wow it was mouth watering! Nonetheless, all the employees here are so friendly, especially Stephanie who was at the cashier at the time. We had a great few minute convo as I was waiting for my pastry.
COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the building. It's a parking garage. You have to pay for parking UNLESS you can find street parking. Food: I ordered a bacon and egg burrito because I forgot to bring food to work. Paying $9 for a bland burrito with no sauce was pathetic. That's why I decided to remove two stars. One star for the ridiculous price for the small burrito. One star for the blandness of the burrito. The bacon wasn't even crunchy. The eggs had no taste to it at all. Bland. Terrible! The redeeming factor was the staff. The staff made me give this place 3 stars. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, nice, and fast. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
First time at the Philz! We'd come here all the time if we lived closer! Just spent a fun time browsing and shopping at Vroman's bookstore, and felt like we needed a pick-me-up so this coffee shop within walking distance was perfect! Brightly lit indoors and lots of patio seating too. Friendly staff! The chairs are really comfortable. We ordered one hot Ether and iced Ecstatic, both with dark chocolate richness. Looks like based on other Yelp reviews that I'll have to try the Mint Mojito next time!
I was curious to see this Southern California franchise of Philz. As in most Pasadena venues, parking isn't free. Unlike other Philz sites with mostly the floor space in the form of a square, this site is a uniquelly physically "linear" branch, the floor space being like an elongated rectangular area forming one straight line from both end entrances. They also have outdoor sitting. With it's welcoming yellow doors and exterior color concept, its bright and tastefully designed interiors, it easily draws one in to come in and visit, and even stay for a while. It was quiet and relaxing inside, in contrast to the vibrant colors and bright lighting. Tantalizing Turkish, which I regularly order from any Philz I go to, wasn't on their menu board but the kind and friendly cashier stated they do have it. Aside from the cashier, there seemed to be only one more staff - the one who made your ordered coffee. This one didn't seem friendly at all. I didn't mind her lack of congeniality, I was more bothered about her lack of food service hygiene. She had just wiped coffee spill off the counter (where she presents the finished coffee to the customer) with a rag. One could easily guess how often that rag must have been used already, and how moist that rag must be... When I asked for a cover for my cup of coffee, she immediately plopped a plastic cover face down on the same counter where that rag passed. I just asked for another cover instead and quietly requested her to not put it on the counter but just hand it to me. Staff in all branches should really receive training on how to hand over covers for cups to customers. Not all coffee baristas are equal, some really make delicious coffee while some just make it so-so. While I do get good-tasting Tantalizing Turkish coffee from the regular Philz I go to, the one I ordered from this branch just didn't make the cut. All in all, it was still a good experience. At least their interior and exterior design is a hit.
Philz first timer and I came with the intention to order matcha. The matcha I ordered was a regular matcha sweetened with brown sugar and choice of milk but automatically is made with oat milk. The matcha taste seemed to be great quality, although even after stirring the flavor only seemed to be on the top. Typically when I drink matcha and it becomes watered down from ice the flavor is usually still present, however this matcha the flavor didn't last even after the ice melted. Despite those few things I admire how they have an option to also adjust sweetness level. Willing to come back and try other flavors and pastries, but this does have to be a quick sip or order with less ice!
What We Ordered: -Mint Mojito $7.15 -Gingersnap Coffee $7.15 Stephanie was very friendly and attentive, offering helpful recommendations since it was my first time there. I ordered an Iced Mint Mojito, which was amazing - unlike any other coffee I've had. As a mint lover, I absolutely enjoyed the flavor! I also got a Gingersnap coffee for my wife, who prefers hot drinks; she thought it was a bit too sweet, but I really liked the holiday-season flavor, reminding me of warm sweaters and the holidays. I'd definitely return to Philz to try other drinks, but I'd prefer to visit a location with better parking, as there's no street parking nearby and they don't validate. I'll definitely be visiting other Philz locations in the future!
Always love Philz and I always come back!! My go to is the Honey Haze, it's light, mellow, and refreshing but still has a great coffee flavor. Today I tried the new tiramisu sweet and creamy and it's a great new holiday flavor but I think I would get it less sweet next time. The cocoa powder on the top was perfect and I would get it again. The cafe itself has lots of seating, outlets, and WiFi making it a great place to get some work done. I've spent all day here before working remotely and love that the outlets are so convenient and WiFi is strong. Would def recommend coming here and the baristas are always so great as well!
the interior was cozy! always kind of busy whenever i go but it doesn't feel like everything is crammed together. drink is delicious and fair priced, love philz!!
Always made to perfection! Iced tesora with light cream and light sugar. One of my favorite locations of Philz. Service is quick and my drink is always made spot on. I love the outdoor patio this location has. Offing the perfect setup to catch up with friends while getting some vitamin c on my face too.

Always such a great experience at this Philz Coffee location ! This is the closest Philz coffee near me and this is conveniently on the way to my work after I finish Pilates in the morning. My go-to order here is the iced mint mojito with oat milk -- house way (the best way duhh). Whenever I'm in a rush, I usually order it in the app and my drink is always ready by the time I get there ! Parking here may be a bit hard to find but there is a 3 minute parking area outside of Philz if you're in and out. They also offer coffee beans to bring home -- SO good! My sister recreates the iced mint mojito at home with the coffee beans they sell and it tastes the exact same. read more

Yes, I'm that guy, the one who only orders decaf coffee. Fortunately for me, Philz makes a mean one. Best probably of all the chains. They call their decaf version Luca's unplugged. Very nice, not too mild flavor. Ordered it iced with heavy cream half and half and light sweetener. Awesome drink! read more

I used to go to Philz with my partner very often when we were living in Berkeley and unfortunately don't live too close to a Philz in the LA area. We decided to come out to Pasadena to revisit our fond memories of Philz and it was definitely a pleasure. This location is very cute indoors and has a lot of room for studying, hanging out, or just taking a moment to relax. Please keep in mind that the parking is not the greatest here! We came on a Friday, which is usually one the busier days of the week, it was constant circling around the area to find parking. When we went inside, we were greeted with great energy from the workers! The cashier was very sweet and patient with us. I ordered a small hot chocolate and my partner ordered a small mocha tesora. Unfortunately, our drinks came out incorrect which ended up being an error from the cashier, but it was no biggy! The barista was kind enough to remake them. Although my partner mentioned that his drink didn't taste too strong like it usually does. Even with these errors, we really liked the staff and store and want to come back again! read more

There's a good amount of seating here with bar seating, and a huge table, as well as a good amount of outlets around. I got the large Honey Haze (creamy and sweet) and it is exquisite! I love that it's not too sweet but you can make it less sweet if wanted. There's also a large bench while you're waiting for your order. The cafe is a little messy with some trash on the cafe floor and bathrooms. I also got the Pork Sausage and Egg breakfast burrito and I was not a fan. I thought it was ok. It felt like it used to be frozen and they had reheated it. The burrito was quite wet. read more

Coffee is decent, but really bummed they moved the couch. We used to come here with our son and hang in the mornings by the window off to the side. Now with the couch moved by the other door it's not really optimal as it's sort of in the way of the door. Anyways, I hate to be the guy complaining about couch positioning but here I am lol. If you don't give a damn about couch positioning, it's a great place to knock out some work . P.S. it looks like either philz or the courtyard redid the outside and they did a great job. Kudos! read more

Hello Thomas, thank you for your review. We're glad you appreciate…
Philz had never done me wrong, and this location is consistently great. Coffees are always tasty here, the employees are super cool and nice and the cafe is always clean. It's a relaxed environment here with several tables, a couch and WiFi. There was a fair number of people working on laptops when I went, so it's a popular spot for people getting work done. Iced rose -- 10/10. Perfectly sweet and floral, without either flavor being too overpowering. It's a refreshing drink and pretty strong IMO (then again, I'm pretty caffeine sensitive) Parking can be kinda tricky but I tend to go to the lot across the street since I usually get lucky there read more

The first Philz Coffee that I had been to was in DTLA. This is the second one. I could say this much bigger and nicer. There was a long line when we came, but the staff works fast. It also has cozy ambiance. There's also a couple of outdoor sitting available. I ordered my usual favorite drink which is the Iced Mint Mojito. It smells and tastes sooo good. And I also had the Bacon & Egg Burrito as well. The size is just right and it was very flavorful. I love bacon! On my next visit here, I would like to try their Iced Coffee Rosé. :) read more

Was in the area and wanted a quick snack. Nice little coffee shop on Lake Ave. Friendly service and nice seating inside and outside. Had an jalapeño bagel with cream cheese spread and it was warm, toasty, and fresh. Tried the mint mojito iced coffee and it was amazingly good. Not a common flavor choice, so I had to try it - I'm glad I did! I may have to come back and have another snack! read more

I like this location in Pasadena. The food is always fresh and the drinks made to perfection. I ordered the chamomile tea and it's always on point! The service is always good and the baristas are very professional. I def recommend this Philz Coffee. It's located in the right spot located near so many good popular Pasadena restaurants. It's a lot of seating outside and indoor to enjoy your coffee. Very good ambiance to relax. Smaller than some of the other locations, but still nice. I will continue to come to this Philz. Parking is on the street and parking in the lots by the Counter burger restaurant. You do have to pay for some parking depending where you park. That's the only thing that can be dissatisfying. read more
The coffee, hot chocolate, monkey bread and chocolate croissant truly merit five stars .. but the incredibly surly attitude of not one,but three employees working there soured the experience this morning. We felt WE were in the way, lining up for a few minutes only to be told ( tho sounded more like a reprimand) to move to the other side of the rope and queue there. ( we were the only customers at that moment. Within five minutes there were a few more, and they received the same curt "welcome". A cheery hello, a warm attitude and a clean seating area are the norm in most coffee shops, but not here, not today read more

First timer at Philz. Tried the mint mojito iced coffee and it was pretty good. I can't really explain the taste of it besides the obvious of the mint taste. Great customer service. If you buy a bag of coffee, they'll grind the beans for you. Place was clean and open concept space. read more

I was originally going to this little plaza to get some Italian food, which was right near this place. But since they were closed and I was hungry. I needed a snack that would tie me over. I informed the young lady who assisted me that I've never been there and had no idea what to get. She was so kind, I didn't annoy her by saying that either - which we all know tends to happen. You can tell this place is popular because it was busy. It's definitely worth stopping by there and being patient. My food came out first, which was super hot, and I waited to get my drink so that I could have them together. I'd be back no doubt read more

A great place for coffee but no espresso. We had the iced mint mojito. This is a great non-alcoholic beverage that tastes fantastic. We didn't miss the alcohol. You stand in line, order and then wait a small amount of time for your beverage. Philz is clean and fun to visit. We recommend Philz unless you must have espresso. I am a huge Philz fan! (specifically for the mint mojito). I decided to come to this location to get some work done since this is the closest location next to me. Parking is ok if you decide to spend a while here. Most street parking in Pasadena is paid/max of an hour or 2. If you're looking to drop by really quick & pick up some coffee, they have 3 minute parking spots in the back. There's also a parking structure near it, in the back but is $2/each 20 mins or a $15 flat fee for the whole day. Service is quick & friendly. There's a few seating areas along the sides & a huge common table with a decent amount of outlets on the side of the table. Wifi works great. read more
