After lunch we stopped to get a coffee before picking up baby girl from school. Have been wanting to try this place for so long LOL. Finally got chance today, my friend and I went inside to order even though they have a drive thru. I wanted to check it out, plus never been here before. The gentleman that took our order was friendly he helped us choose what to order, my friend and he said the Iced Mint Macchiato was the most popular. So I got a large to try and my friend got a hot mocha coffee. We ended up sitting for a bit talking, it was pretty busy inside every seat was taken mostly. But everyone there was friendly, we sat on the couch they have and drank our coffee. Mine was good a bit strong which helped me stay awake lol and she liked hers a lot too. I would definitely come back here again and try something else, they do have pastries too and plenty of other options to choose from and they are pretty quick with making your drink. I was so excited when I heard they had a holiday peppermint cookie so I actually drove right over for the cookie. Lucky for me, there were 2 left so I bought it. I also got the holiday tiramisu cold brew. The cashier I believe was training a new person and they were both nice. My cookie was delicious! And my drink was a bit too sweet for me but the barista did offer to change it for me but I saved it for the next day so that was on me. Extremely disappointing experience at Philz Coffee Fullerton. I've been a loyal Philz customer for years, but what happened today completely ruined my impression of this location. I came by around 1:45-1:50 PM on October 9 to pick up my mobile order through the drive-through, and the girl working at the open window (wearing a short-sleeve pink top, with shoulder length hair) was incredibly rude and unprofessional. The very first thing she said to me was, "Next time when you're here, just wait." , which already threw me off. When I asked what she meant, she replied (with attitude), "It seems like when you arrived you were saying some words, and I had to drop everything I was doing to get to you." First of all, I did not say a single word before pulling up. I was simply waiting for someone to say hello on the speaker like every normal customer would. Even after I politely clarified that it wasn't me, she continued with an attitude, rolled her eyes, and handed me my drink with zero apology or professionalism. Making me feel like I made her "drop everything" was completely uncalled for. If she misheard someone else, she could have simply clarified or asked nicely, not direct that blame toward me. The way she spoke made me feel blamed and disrespected for absolutely no reason. Philz is a brand I've always associated with kindness and great customer service, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I really hope management addresses this behavior, because customers shouldn't be treated like this, especially at a place that prides itself on warmth and hospitality. read more

What happened to Philz customer service? I've been absent from Philz after Covid and I'm alarmed at the kind of service I've received from two separate locations within the last week. The employees seem bothered or mad to be working. We all have off days but isn't it easier to fake it til you make it? Maybe try smiling? They don't call out names and ask if adjustments are needed like they used to. Isn't that what Philz is known for?? Not to mention the inconsistency in the drinks depending on the barista, my tiramisu was just a cup of sugar, no coffee flavor at all. The coffee here is pretty tasty although the menu is a little busy. After some deciphering and asking questions I was able to figure it out. I have to say, for such a sizeable place, the seating is terrible. Not enough small tables and too many large ones which kinda makes them unapproachable if someone is already sitting there. There's some couches and lounge chairs but no tables near to set your coffee on. Also the snacks are a little pricey but tasty. Looks like they're having live music today which is very cool. Staffs are friendly and helpful if you need recommendation. They don't serve espresso based coffee here but they are open to giving suggestion. Their coffee is pretty good and smooth. Nice place to hang and chit chat or work/study with laptop. They have wifi and it's not slow. Their baked goods and sandwich meals all look so good too. I don't know who Carissa is, never seen her in my life. Not familiar with them but she heated my breakfast burrito impeccably. Absolutely divine. I always (twice) order a sausage egg cheese breakfast burrito and they've always been (the last two times) really flaky and messy. I thought this was just the way it was. Didn't question it. Today I got my burrito (3rd time) and Carissa heated it up or at least I think she did because her name was on my order and it WASN'T flaky. It was perfect. Honestly, when I first found this place on Yelp, I thought it was a family joint and I'm a little disappointed that it's a chain. When you come in it feels like a homier version of a Starbucks. For years, I've been trying to find something other than Starbucks, but in Phoenix, I found nothing that compares. If I lived here, I would definitely be a Philz Coffee regular.
