Worst experience ever with John Maxwell and Gavin Stanley, but Melinda Bishop takes the cake as possibly the worst Manager lacking in common decency, human engagement, as well as basic customer service. After hiding 20 minutes in her office she came out with a sarcastic tone, extreme rudeness, unnecessary condescending comments and by far the most unprofessional person I have ever attempted to do business with. Long story short, I drove up from California to pick up a trailer I put a deposit on. Upon arrival and inspection of the trailer, I noticed there was damage to numerous parts of the trailer that Gavyn chose for me. Belinda refused to allow me to purchase the undamaged trailer (same make and model) sitting right next to the unit she was trying to force on me, nor would she reduce the price of the trailer a mere $50 for damages totaling at a couple hundred dollars. Furthermore, she continued with feeding me more BS by telling me they do not have time to inspect the trailers when they get delivered. She told on her self here what kind of manager she is and the racket they run. So you are saying you will accept damaged trailers and purchase them without inspecting? I find that hard to believe and even worse she expected me to pay full price for the damaged trailer once again that they chose for me .. total BS!
I drove two days to deal with this unprofessionalism! Gavyn was the perfect sales person over the phone but when in the presence of Belinda the manager he completely changed his tune and became very rude towards us. Gavyn stated he didn't say things that he did on the phone before arriving and became someone completely different than the person I was dealing with on the phone, but as soon as Belinda would walk away, he starts apologizing over and over for her rude behavior towards us... Such a phony!
To further support what a terrible manager Belinda is, in the listing of the trailer they promote "Support Texas built Trailers by Deep South" yet she had the audacity to question why I would want to purchase the trailer manufactured by deep South and proceeded to tell me she wouldn't even sell me that trailer to drive back to California if it was her. I wonder if deep South would be happy to hear how they are "supported" and "promoted?"
At any rate, moral of the story... Sales people act cool on the phone and will take your deposit but once you arrive expect to get a crappy product and even crappier people to deal with. Save your time and money and don't buy a trailer here!
***The owner Donnie likes to respond to any review that is negative by not taking any accountability at all. Not even a mention about the behavior of his employees? Belinda did not have any conversation with me about the warranty as described in his rebuttal, no yelling took place, and I did not ask for $50 off and proceed to ask for more. Re-read my review... what I stated is what happened and is the truth. For someone who wasn't there you should be asking me why I chose not to purchase from your establishment instead of false stories about what did or didn't happen.
Donnie wasn't in the office and in fact I am told by other trailer dealers in the surrounding area that he hardly is at his own business at all, so how can he deny these claims?
Not to mention these other trailer companies I spoke with say that they have people coming in complaining about Phil's regularly so how do you explain and deny that? I get you are in protect mode but don't fabricate what really happened there and the poor experience I received which I choose to tell about. read more
