The best Philly steak sandwich I've found in ABQ. Nothing else has come close. My partner loves Phillys but has been disappointed with all the offerings here until now! The meat is well-seasoned, the bun does a good job standing up to the gooey filling and there's lots of things to add to your Philly, both traditional and non-traditional. A big standout for me were the fries. Not usually a fan of thicker cut fries but these were perfectly coated and crispy. You get a lot of food for your money, which can be a little overwhelming, especially at lunch, but my half-sandwich reheated really well for dinner! We'll be back! read more

Decent cheesesteaks for ABQ. The bread is like you'd find back East, very authentic. The beef is thin and generously portioned. I'd have liked more seasoning on the meat, perhaps salt and pepper. I'm an east coast transplant and a snob about my pizza, bagels and delis. I'm originally from New York but know a lot about food from the "City of Brotherly Love". Rocky Balboa, cheesesteaks and even my beloved Marine Corps all reign from Philly. I know about the decades long cheesesteak war between Pat's and Geno's, and I know Philadelphians are adamant that it's not a real cheesesteak unless it's served on an Amoroso roll. Philly Steaks here in ABQ doesn't serve them on Amoroso...but hear me out. The owners are the real deal (from Philly) and the rolls served here are super fresh and better than getting Amoroso shipped in resulting in stale rolls. They know their stuff. They also have all the trimmings you'd expect from an authentic cheesesteak joint-Cheez Wiz and "Crabby" fries (seasoned with Old Bay). The cheesesteak sandwiches are HUGE too, one sandwich and fries will easily fill two people. I like getting a cheesesteak and saving the other half for a midnight snack or leftovers. Besides cheesesteaks, they also serve heroes/hoagies/subs (whatever you prefer to call them) all made with fresh sliced deli meat. Lastly, the cheesesteaks can be customized any way you like with different cheeses and even an east-meets-west version with green chile. One thing to keep in mind is they close at 6pm Monday-Thursday, 8pm Friday and Saturday, and are closed Sundays. Pretty good little Philly steak shop I must say since I'm from the Philadelphia area. I really like the sandwiches and all the offerings. The only thing I would add is to offer brown gravy as one of the sandwich toppings which is indicative of the north east Pennsylvania area only. It took 45 minutes to get what I ordered and that was with 2 people waiting ahead of us. The philly was not good, poor cheap quality meat. However the fires were pretty good but came in small amounts. The food was pricey too pricey for the quality of the food and service provided. The staff can use a little lesson in customer service as well. The key is if things are running late or are not workout go to the customer and explain the situation. Not play on your cellphone and listen to music on your earbuds as a customer is ordering. The restaurant needs some updating and cleaning, the staff never changed their gloves after handling the previous order's. If I ever crave another Philly cheesesteak. Charles is just down the road. I have been hoping for a good philly place to come to Albuquerque for years. Missing Dalessandro's no longer requires a trip back to Philly to get the real deal. Sandwiches are done right and priced very reasonable. The fries are great too. Most remarkable about the place to me though is the proper family owned establishment atmosphere. The kid that runs the counter is the best customer service person I've ever dealt with, and she is 10. I hope to see more of these around town a little closer to where I live, but for now, I'm happy to make the drive. read more

Really delicious new cheese steak place. The sandwich are massive, best to split unless you work a physical job or could eat two full size subway sandwiches in a sitting. I'd recommend that you go all in for the toppings, they are included in the price of the sandwich and really jazz it up. You can watch them cook the meat on the flat top in the back, and get chicken for the same price as the beef. Also, green chili cheese fries were pretty sweet. My family and I are growing increasingly uncomfortable with the LACK OF HYGIENE in this restaurant. We have eaten here at least 5 times but something is always off, like NO SOAP in the bathrooms (that has happened more than once). Or no paper towels to dry hands off in the bathroom. Or the people preparing food are not wearing gloves. Or the staff goes back and forth from the cash register handling money to the grill to handle food. The last time we ate here our daughter became very ill the following day and our pediatrician said her symptoms checked every box for food poisoning (norovirus to be specific). There are just not enough routine sanitary practices in place. We like the food here, but can no longer return. read more

One of the best phillys in town and it felt very authentic. They have fresh French fries and both chicken and steak phillys (also burgers and more) and all were great. The service here was very good. Being our first time here, we were staring at the menu and explained that we had never been in. We were given a recommendation and went with that option. However the Fries were the only thing that was seasoned, still wasn't that good of fries. The philly meat was dry and tasteless. The cheese was non existent. It seemed very sloppy and over filled. All I can say is, WOW. This is the first truly authentic cheese steak sub I've found anywhere in the country outside of the Philly-NJ-NY-Boston corridor. And I've searched all over. These cheese steak subs are the real deal, for sure. They use thin-sliced ribeye (most others use cheaper sirloin) that is cooked to order on a real grill. They mix in whatever other ingredients you request (mushrooms, peppers, grilled onions, etc) in reasonable quantities, unlike other places that have about 3 ounces of steak and 30 ounces of veggies. Here, the main ingredient is steak, lots of it, as it should be. Further, the steak is tender with no hint of gristle. Finally, they stuff it in an authentic, full-size, Italian roll. I've eaten here 3 times, the first 2 subs the meat amount was a bit ridiculous, they've scaled it back and it's much more proportional now. I get the pizza steak with cheez wiz, onion, mayo & pickles. My PA native husband loves this place.
