Came for lunch during a rain storm and was pretty impressed. The staff was very friendly and gave good recommendations. The food was cooked well and my burger was really good. A bit pricey in my opinion for portion size but overall really good experience. I'll come back for sure. read more

An ok burger joint! Prices are reasonable and they have some daily specials, like Wednesdays you can get a cheesy burger and fries for $10. The burger itself though is pretty dry and flavorless. I had to add a lot of ketchup and sauce to it. Fries and onion strings are pretty decent, but extremely salty. read more

After a long walk I found myself hungry and indecisive on what I wanted to eat. It had been awhile since I last had a burger. I walked in and saw the wide array of options on the menu. They even offer chicken sandwiches! Not to mention the staff was pretty stellar. After reviewing the menu I settled with the 505 Green Chili Cheesy Burger and coupled it with fries and some of that three cheese sauce. The burger needed some extra sauces. I added some ketchup and some of the cheese sauce. The chili wasn't very spicy but I still enjoyed it. The fries were very crispy and fresh. Overall it was a pretty good lunch. It is a little on the pricey side I must admit. All that sent me back a little over 20 bucks. Although the food was fresh and quality was fairly good, I just can't justify spending that much often. It's more a once in awhile kinda treat for me. It goes without saying I'll most likely return. read more

Had never experienced Burger 21 . I had heard of the restaurant. Let me tell you. Take your family to this restaurant order inn and definitely enjoy this experience. I took my wife and step daughter last weekend and the quality begins when you first walk into the door. I met one of the managing partners a Mr Sumner Guyer he took my order personally. He definitely believes and supports the location. I have recommended Burger 21 to my friends, family and anyone who will listen. Hopefully there will be additional locations and maybe add one to Edgewood or Estancia. read more

Service was great--super friendly and fast. Ambiance was chill and casual. Prices were comparable to similar concepts. Too bad the food was disappointing. Group consensus was an overall lack of flavor except for the overly salty bacon. Patty texture was tough, bland preformed frozen patty. Buns were nice and soft but sturdy enough to support, which is a plus. Sadly, the tots were also lacking. Not just saltless, they didn't even taste like potato. The onion strings were decent, and the sauce selection is pretty awesome. Overall, the food for us just didn't hit enough to come back. read more

Me and my little family used to love going here. I don't know what happened after summer break, but it is not the same. It is not the same because there's usually nothing wrong when we go there ever but, recently, my husband saw a hair in his burger. We were so grossed out. They did make him another burger but both of our burgers were burnt also!!. I actually threw up my food after too. It wasn't a great experience and I do not recommend going here no more. They did accommodate us by not charging his meal, but that's the only thing that they did right. read more

While in Albuquerque my wife and I visited Burger 21. I have a pescatarian diet so I decided to have one of their Veggie Burger options, Black Bean or Impossible. I like restaurants that make their own veggie burgers. Unfortunately it was not. It was a burger from one of those institutional businesses (like Sysco Foods) veggie burgers that you find in Chili's, black bean burger with lots of cumin seasoning, disappointing. The presentation was fine, they offered multiple sauce options. read more

Had never been here before and the wife and I just needed a little something to hold us over for a dinner reservation. We ordered a burger and fries and were going to split it so we wouldn't get too hungry before our reservation. The very kind lady taking our order asked if we were splitting the meal and made a note on the order to cut the burger in half on separate plates. The order arrived with the burger cut and what looked like 2 orders of fries instead of 1 split order. Both the burger and fries were well prepared and delicious. The relaxed atmosphere and comfortable booths were a nice plus as well. This is a place I will be returning to. Great service and great food. read more

Had a coupon from realtor to try a burger here, and it didn't disappoint! When ordering this 7-oz. burger, I was asked if I wanted medium, done or well done. I was told medium had pink. I had medium, and the burger had a good sear but cooked to perfection. Juicy. Had very good thin-sliced bacon which had a lot of flavor and bleu cheese. The fries came in.single or "shareable" form, and they were shoestring and hot and fresh. Got an unsweetened ice tea. Delicious! Most burgers were in the $11+ range. Nice staff! Clean and bright eating area. Other meats are available like chicken. Head on over! read more

UPDATE 3/1/2025: Went in person to dine in. Portions are big and everything is cooked to order how you like it. My daughter ordered the cheesy burger combo and they asked how she wanted it - medium, well done, etc. How many burger places do that?! Same great food and there was plenty of seating available even though they were busy. My new favorite burger place!! Thank you for processing the refund. 2/25/2025: Ordered online for pickup. Order was promptly completed on time and customer service was awesome!! Only drawback was they were out of brookies (brownie/cookie dough dessert) and there was no manager on duty to complete a refund until the next day. Tried calling but there was no answer and unable to leave a voicemail. read more

Super basic burgers and fries for crazy prices. $10 for a burger alone and $16 for a combo? Unfortunately the burger did not stand out for me. I had a #3 bacon cheesy and added avocado. While it was very fresh and cooked well, it lacked flavor and was comparable to a fast food burger. The shake machine wasn't working which was also disappointing. I don't recommend. read more

The burgers were greasy and undercooked, the fries were stale and undercooked, the extra toppings were scraped on as thinly as possible, and we were given an apparently random assortment of sauces instead of the ones we asked for. The food tasted like cafeteria food but at twice the price. I used to really like this place but stopped going there as much as the quality declined. I decided to give it another chance but this was honestly bad enough to not only prevent me from going, but for me to warn other people off. We ordered through the app Oct 17 around 6:20. If you're going to spend the kind of money they charge on burgers I suggest going somewhere else. read more

We ordered ahead of time went to pick up our food and the order was completely wrong. The cashier wasn't even apologetic about it and then got upset that we wanted to cancel the order. I used to love coming here all the time before the pandemic happened because of their amazingly swift staff and great burgers. I also can't forget to mention all of their sauce options! We came here for dinner and there were a couple of people ahead of us in line and it didn't take too long for them to get to us. I usually order the Cinco, which is one of the best burgers I've had. This time I got their special, Fried Pickle Burger, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. I asked for avocado slices, medium-well temp burger, and no cheese and I only got one of those things. The burger was burned and charred and their was no avocado. We shared a basket of half and half fries and they were a little overdone and cold by the time we got them. The sauces are great still and helped save the day, but I don't know if that's enough to come back here again. Lastly, the place was just dirty. The bathrooms could use a deep clean and the trash area was gross and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. They were pretty slowed and it looked like they had plenty of workers so it doesn't seem like a staffing issue, which would've been more understandable. All in all, decent burger and fries with amazing seances. read more

The food was good, not great. Especially for the price that was paid.. I've had better burgers for less. There were CHUNKS of jalapeños in my burger that were not fully sliced. I had to pull apart the "sliced" jalapeño and spread them out through my burger myself.. the onion strings tasted burnt and salty :/ As soon as I walked in I noticed the many many dirty tables and the little bits of trash and food all over the floor. The lady at the register was short and dry. I felt rushed to place my order and being that it was my first time being here, it was uncomfortable honestly. Overall it was okay, mediocre at best. read more

I decided to come here to see how the food was and their insane choices of sauces. I got a speciality burger that I believe was for that month only and it was pretty good! The fries were also pretty good as well. Service was great, sauces were awesome. The pricing is a bit expensive, and I wasn't full after my meal. I wanted to get more food but it was so expensive for the amount of food I got. I would go to Red Robin because they have unlimited fries and the burgers are bigger and fill me up more. read more

Stunner: We got burgers at Burger 21! This is a great fast casual burger joint, with lots of choices including vegetarian (Impossible, mushroom, black bean) and pescatarian (tuna two ways). My wife and I got shareable onion strings ($6.99). These were delicious and a great vehicle for the half dozen or so sauces (two kinds of ketchup, etc., etc.). But don't get the shareable size of you're not ready for a lot of onions. Four people would probably have felt they had plenty if they shared the "sharable" size. All in all, quick, delicious, lots of options and choices. A good place for a burger splurge if you are able to afford a little extra for more of a burger than the fast food joints will give you. read more

Today marks the start of Albuquerque Restaurant Week, with special menus available at a number of hot spots around town. I took the opportunity to try somewhere new to me: Burger 21, a Winrock satellite near Target and Indian School Road. I ordered the green chile cheeseburger with a side of fried onions and a strawberry shake. After tax and a tip, the total was nearly twenty bucks. Pricey, even for this kind of fast casual dining. They called my order number after 10 or 12 minutes. The presentation was appealing. I took a couple photos and dug in. The burger was cooked medium rare just like I wanted. The green chile didn't have much flavor, unfortunately. The slice of smoked gouda was flavorful but perhaps Monterey Jack would have been better after all. The fried onions made for a tasty side dish. I tried a few sauces as well, favoring the Thai ketchup above all. The shake was cold and smooth, with plenty of strawberry chunks. I didn't finish it: by the end, I was feeling the calories. Overall, not too bad, but not quite for me. If you like a greasy, self-indulgent burger, give it a shot. read more

Wasn't great or bad. Pretty average burger and salty fries. The brioche bun was good. The service was pretty good as well.

My husband and I both got the impossible burger. It comes with red onions, tomato, and lettuce on a brioche bun. We both took off the tomato and onion. I added pickles and avocado. We got fires to share. High points, they have lots of sauces for your fires. The apple cider sauce was delicious! Real avocados was a plus! The fries were good but nothing special. Low points the burger itself was mushy and blah and seemed undercooked. I have had the impossible burger before at other restaurants and loved it. Neither my husband nor I came away feeling satisfied... which brings me to the other low point, the price,... it was $28 dollars for both burgers and fries. Which seems a little high for what you get. At other restaurants I can get the impossible burger for around the same price with a side included. The service was good, fast, and friendly so that was a plus. Willing to give them another try and will update my rating if my opinion changes. read more

Surprisingly good flavor combinations for burgers served on brioche buns with a few fry choices and a dozen dipping sauces. They even have the Impossible Burger and even a ahi tuna patty. Not only that, but they have a very allergy conscious chef that was extremely accommodating and took every precaution to prevent contamination. Great new addition to Albuquerque. read more

We ordered burgers and fries and drinks one evening on their website and asked for a pickup. The estimated time was 5 minutes and we left about ten minutes later to get our order. It is understandable that these are difficult times we live in and a lot of restaurants are overwhelmed. Despite reaching about ten minutes after the order was supposed to be ready, we waited for another fifteen for our food. Again, understandable. When we unpacked the food, we were disappointed to find that one of the orders of fries was missing and the other was loosely packed into a glass (that you normally serve drinks in). Our requested sauces were missing. They boast of a huge selection of sauces on the website and all we got was a handful of ketchups. We called the restaurant for our missing fries assuming that they forgot to pack it for us and that we'd just go and get them. What followed was a conversation with an extremely careless employee who at first insisted that we had only ordered two sets of fries and not three. He was caught in his lie when he read our order out loud. The manager would not come to the phone but we could hear their voice in the background. We offered to come by to get the fries then but their solution was for us to show up the next day for missing order of fries. The only problem with that solution was that I am one of those people who likes fries with her burger not a whole day later. Finally they said they'd issue us a refund for the missing item but the refund never showed up. Terrible service. Terrible employees. And honestly, the food was just average. Would give this place zero stars if I could. read more

If you read my reviews, you likely know that I am somewhat of a 'burger connoisseur', and my long-term friends will tell you this has been the case for as long as I've been able to order for myself at restaurants. If that means anything to you, I'll tell you right up front that I believe that Burger 21 is the best burger in Albuquerque. I've been labeled as a frugal person and Burger 21 is one of a small handful of restaurants I'll pay to have delivered to my house. That's how much I enjoy it. I recently had the pleasure of calling an audible among our frends group when the wait at the nearby Red Robin and BJ's turned out to be 40 minutes. Worried that the lack of table service would be a killer, I tentatively suggested Burger 21 and was surprised to hear that no one else in our party had been there before! As we were attempting to eat before a movie at the Winrock IMAX, my suggestion was accepted. Every single person in our party was excited by the expansive list of choices and interesting flavors offered, and every one of them said the food was incredible. To be fair, the atmosphere is high-end fast food, and the cost is low-end restaurant (it's not exactly cheap), but I personally think that the love they put into each sandwich alone is worth the minor inconvienences those issues present, not to mention their perfectly cooked fries, or the sauce selection (try the Thai Ketchup)! I have experienced issues in the past with the way things were cooked or missing or wrong items from an order, and even experienced relatively slow service, but none of those things even occurred to me enough to prevent me from wholeheartedly recommending my friends and family try it. So if you love burgers and fries and are willing to take a chance, I think you just might find the best burger place in Albuquerque. read more

The epitome of average. We came to burger 21 for dinner with the family and I can't say we will make it a point to return. We ordered 2 kids burger combos, a Tex-Mex Haystack with sweet potato fries, and a 505 Combo. My 505 Cheeseburger was ordered medium rare and although it looked appetizing on the outside, the inside was disintegrating as I ate it. Rare or "barely cooked" would have been more appropriate. The bun was a mass of enriched white plainness - no toasting, no butter, no frills. For a green chile cheeseburger, Albuquerque has high standards and this just doesn't match up. The kids burgers were little more than something you can find at McDonalds or Burger King - but for nearly $7. My wife loved her Tex Mex Haystack (ordered Medium), so I guess the menu might be hit and miss? On the plus side, they have a wide variety of sauces and that's different. Also, the staff was very friendly, the facility was clean. Ultimately, for nearly $70, I expected better. read more

I'll admit, at first, I was a little hesitant to try Burger 21 out. I'm not the biggest fan of chain restaurants. My husband and I ordered our food, and I was bummed to see how expensive, two burgers, and one shared order of fries was. When they called our number, and I got up to get the food, I was taken back by the food presentation. I was like, dang our burgers look good! And the shared order of fries was huge. Our food was delicious, and we ate every last bite. I must say I'm impressed and will be returning for more. The price of the food totally doesn't bother me anymore. As long as the food is good. There was one thing I do have to complain about. The place was pretty dirty. Empty tables had food and trash on them. I had to wipe down our own table. And the bathrooms were really bad. You guys need to do better with keeping the place clean. read more
