This was nasty to me. They put jelly stuff on the bottom and it has beans mixed in there, there is some kind of sweet milk and they put a lot of shaved ice only it's more like chunky ice bits that does not taste like shaved ice at all. It was like they put the ice in the blender. Then they put a tiny bit of ice cream on top which was the only part I liked. I gave this place a 2 star because I have been in there before to buy a few things that normal grocery stores don't have. I'm not sure if all halo halo taste like that or it's this place but I would not recommend it or ever get it again.

I appreciate the woman working there letting me what dishes didn't have pork, which I don't consume. This is a super casual hole-in-wall establishment. The food isn't spectacular, but it's satisfying comfort food. I'd say the chicken adobo was well made and flavorful. The beef mechado was okay. I also enjoyed the fried eggplants, fried tuyo (salted dried fish), champorado, and ginataan dessert Again, I come here for the Sunday brunch buffet with friends/family members who crave a variety of affordable Filipino home style cooking in one sitting.

The lumpia is very authentic (legit!) and I immediately thought of being at home with my mother with every bite. Light, crispy and fried to a golden brown. We reached out to Tisoy as we came across them before and saw that they serve locally and their food looks delicious. We were hoping they would have our wedding day available and thankfully they did! Chef Matthew was very responsive from when I first inquired leading up to the wedding day! It brought such ease to our minds, that we didn't want to miss out on this opportunity, we booked right away! They were so kind and made sure that our wedding day would go smoothly. For cocktail hour, of course we had to include the pork lumpia into the mix. Giving that our family is filipino and our friends love lumpia, we doubled up the amount of lumpia for cocktail hour as we knew those would be a hit. and they were indeed! They made them fresh on the spot which my guests loved because it consistently had a good crunch to it! My guests were even waiting for the servers at the bottom of the railing because they just couldn't wait to eat more! haha It's been about two weeks since our wedding and we are still hearing such great feedback on our food selection! The most talked about was the Macadamia Crusted Salmon and the Huli Huli Chicken! Leading up to the wedding day, people kept telling me to make sure to eat because couples tend to not eat their food because they get distracted. But there was no way that I wasn't going to try Tisoy! We ended up with some leftover food that we were able to take with us, and my husband and I were stoked to be able to eat more of it! Chef Matthew and Ornella even walked up to us to personally congratulate us, and was able to have a conversation with them as well. They are such amazing and kind people, and their staff did amazing as well. We are so very grateful and thankful that we ended up with Tisoy as our wedding caterers. One of my favorites here is the Pho Dac Biet. It comes with brisket, tendon, short ribs, beef balls, and noodles. We also ordered the Yang Chow Fried Rice, which comes with BBQ pork, Chinese sausage, shrimp, eggs, peas, carrots, and green onions. It wasn't salty at all. At first it almost seemed a little bland because the seasoning was very light, but after a few bites, I actually enjoyed it. You can taste the ingredients without everything being covered by too much salt or seasoning. Another dish we tried was the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio, with marinated grilled pork, imperial rolls, vermicelli noodles, cucumbers, red leaf lettuce, mint, carrots, green onions, and bean sprouts. The grilled pork was flavorful and the imperial rolls were crispy and delicious. My only complaint was that the vermicelli noodles were a little too wet for my liking, so I didn't enjoy that part as much. Overall, we enjoyed the food we ordered and had a nice family dinner at Bamboo. The Pho Dac Biet is still one of my favorites, especially because of that fragrant broth.
