    Downtown Ann Arbor

Feels a little weird to be reviewing a CVS on Yelp, but I'll accept anything is possible in this…read moreday and age. My only complaint here is that the line to pick up prescriptions can get pretty long at times. Maybe they could add on another pharmacist at "peak times", whatever those may be? Seeing as though this location is mainly frequented by U of M students, I would imagine they could estimate demand based on the academic calendar, at least. Nonetheless, everyone is always really nice here, notably helpful, and I've had great experiences at Minute Clinic. It's in a fairly crappy space on State Street near where the "unsavorable" Ann Arbor residents hang out but they manage to keep it nice and organized and clean. For juxtaposition, take a look into the Chipotle which manages to look like it should be condemned by the health agency most of the time. Also, this CVS has great deals from time to time, where it's actually cheaper for me to get snacks sometimes here than the grocery store. Haribo is almost always 2/$4. I like that it has self checkout as well which puts it a point above Walgreens. And discount candy after the holidays.

First their on-line app is horrible. Second, just try getting a person on the phone. Third, they…read moredo not follow through, such as for prior authorizations. Fourth, they do not answer questions in a sensible way, totally worthless answers. Fifth - bad service overall. Can't think of a positive thing to say.

Feels somewhat silly to write a review for a place going out of business but I do have to chime in…read moreand say I'm going to miss Rite Aid. During the initial Covid vaccine roll out they reliably had appointments and I was able to get all my family in to one location or another, which was a relief since I worked about all of them more than me! My aunt came to this particular location and my mom and I came for moral support (and literal physical support cos the lady faints from needles) and the folks in the pharmacy were really lovely and accommodating (she didn't quite faint this time but was close, and they did a great job grabbing a cold bottle from the coolers to hold against her neck to keep her up). Everything in this store is currently 40-50% off so I did one more walk through to see what was left and/or purchase some things on a discount. I got some cleaning supplies, deeply discounted Duracell batteries, a little car vacuum, and somebody care stuff for 50% off. If you're seeing this any time around August 16th, 2024 I highly recommend stopping in here or your nearest location to stock up before they're all gone.

The pharmacist (I presume and not the tech) was unreasonably rude to me today during the entire…read moreencounter with her but the important part is that when I asked about the USE OF THE MEDICATION. She told me none of the 3 (2 pain meds and 1 muscle relaxant) were for what I was told by the prescribing doctor they are used for. I now realize that the "muscle relaxant" can also be used for issues of constipation, but she simply told me the medical terms for the medications without applying the context I gave her and disregarding my questions very flippantly. The person who I was picking up the prescription for has been taking pain meds for a while and I did not want to give anymore medications than needed to protect his liver. Anyway, I asked the other pharmacist (kind older woman) the same question but the evil one butted in that she "already told me" in an aggressive manner. The kind one said I could call the pharmacy with questions about the medications but I was treated with such hostility that I am too uncomfortable to do so. -unimportant, but still wanted to share. She told me to wait 15-20 min and I came back around 12 minutes just to see if things finished early and asked "is it still some-more time? Okay." And she remarks "it hasn't been 15-20 min like I said right? Yeah its going to take that full time." In a rude tone. This is all poor etiquette when dealing with people clearly in sensitive situations to need to visit a pharmacy.

LISTEN. I feel really silly writing another Walgreens update but I wanted to give a shout out to…read moretheir curbside pick up for saving my holiday cards! I was merrily writing out my yearly correspondence, addressing them, stickering them (I get fancy!) and stamping them when I realized I was about 16 stamps short. DANGIT. I scavenged what I could, but I was still coming up short. The USPS is a hot mess right now so I neither wanted to order online (I knew they wouldn't arrive until after Christmas) nor go there in person to purchase more (my local branch is basically a mess in the best of times in December let alone during the plague). I knew I was probably going to have to run into a Kroger, UPS store, or the like to get them. I didn't want to run all around town so I looked at the USPS website to see what outlets sold stamps and saw this Walgreens on the list. "Could it be? Could they have them for curbside?" I wondered. So I opened the app and sure enough, I found them available. I ordered 3 books and a goofy Christmas card for my husband's gift (it's a pop up and it plays music!) and my order was ready in 30 minutes. Pick up was a little slower than anticipated but their parking lot was very crowded so I expected it. The woman who dropped it off at my car very kindly apologized for the delay, but it truly wasn't a problem. I was cozy and safe in my car listening to holiday tunes. Thanks for saving my abundantly sending holiday card ass, Walgreens!

When I asked them to correct it, they said they couldn't because the manager wasn't in for another several days. That's a HIPAA violation, and they refused to correct it.
