The best part of this CVS is it's close proximity to the 23 exit at Plymouth road. If I ever forget to get some vitamins, cold or flu medicine or beauty or basic toiletries, this is where I tend to go. This location has a sizable parking lot and is definitely on the right side of Plymouth to get to the outskirts of the AA area. CVS are all essentially the same. They make carry more or less the same brands, but not always the same flavors, like theraflu and other things too. This review is specifically for the employee Robin, who I've encountered a few times working in the pharmacy department. I hope she feels valued and enjoys her work, because CVS is lucky to have such an authentic, friendly, sincere person representing their brand. She works with grace under pressure -- not easy with the long pharmacy lines at this busy location. Each person is treated with dignity and she addresses their needs with individual attention and concern. She knows the "regulars" by name and very naturally creates a familiar connection with customers. Going to the pharmacy is usually a mundane task, but can sometimes cause a lot of grief, confusion, and money. Robin has helped me several times in the past when my insurance coverage was dropped and later retroactively reinstated. She walked me through what I needed for the reimbursement process, helped me identify the scripts that were paid out-of-pocket, and was overall compassionate and understanding. She was far more helpful than the insurance company, the doctors office, or the pharmacists and technicians behind the counter. Thank you Robin! I swear I have wrote this review three times but it keeps disappearing. This is by far the best cvs in the Ann Arbor canton area. I have worked at many of them as a vendor and the employees at this cvs were always very nice and helpful. They still say hi to me years later. The managers are very nice especially Ryan, he makes this a great cvs. The pharmacy people have always been very helpful even though they are swamped with prescriptions. This cvs does not deserve to have this low of a rating. You may have to wait a minute for help but if you find them they are more than willing to help. read more

The worst customer service. Forget about trying to call in and get any information, they'd hang up pretending the call disconnected. I have seen it personnel hanging up on people. Except for some personnel who usually work drive through, others are very rude no matter how many times they change them. read more

24 Hours FTW! Seriously, I'm not exactly sure why I love 24-hour pharmacies like I do, but I do. As someone who sometimes keeps odd hours and also constantly forgets to do normal errands like getting prescriptions filled or pick up random things, I guess it just makes sense. Anyhow, I have to say that while the Plymouth Rd location is less convenient for me, it could beat the South Industrial location in a snap. Service for my RX was lightning fast, and the pharmacist was amazingly friendly considering the hour! I feel like reviewing chains is only useful if you can point out the difference between multiple locations, but this is a case where that's true. The Plymouth Road location also (late night or during the day) feels a little less chaotic and more friendly. S. Industrial's location is still closer to my house, but for a late-night-smiling pharmacist (and sometimes that's nice), it's Plymouth Road. read more

So this has been our primary pharmacy go to for mainly the kids' prescriptions over the several years. It served us well through all the years of little kid illness, viruses, and infinite bugs. But this was a certain truth to this when they were a 24 hour pharmacy. Now that the pharmacy has typical business hours, they are moving closer to mediocre status. Pharmacy is no longer open 24 hrs., but the store is, and I've made a few wee-hours visits there when on my way out of town for extended day trips or vacations. I'm glad they're there--though finding a clerk or cashier during those odd hours between when the bars close and the donut shops open can be a trial. I think they have one or two people working then, and they're usually buried deep in the store stocking something or other. It takes a bit of wandering most nights/mornings to flag them down. Otherwise...it's a basic drug/general merchandise store. Some things seem stocked in odd locations, and sometimes you will wait a while for a cashier to appear at the front counter (even in daylight!), or for a second to come on duty when checkout lines are backing up. I do appreciate the discounts you get with a CVS card, also the fact that when I forget my card, the cashier usually will swipe his/hers so I still get the discount. Another plus of this location is that my prescriptions are usually filled sooner than the estimated time I'm given. I don't know if this store will necessarily raise your general impressions of CVS, but it's probably not going to lower them. read more

I rarely buy anything from CVS but frequent the pharmacy. For my latest visit, I scheduled a flu shot the day before online. A few hours later I call the pharmacy to confirm they take my insurance and the lady on the phone was confused that I scheduled online. Ok. My appointment was for 8 am and they were timely on "checking me in" but the pharmacy tech had a few issues entering my insurance information that made the entire process take longer. The pharmacist that gave me my shot was great; very friendly and quick. Barely noticed the needle going in. My gripe with this visit was upon checking out, I was not given back my insurance card and asked if I could have it. The guy who checked me in didn't hand it to me, but threw it on the counter in front of me. Mind you, he was literally inches away from me so the point in being so rude I don't know. This pharmacy is usually slow whenever I pick up my prescription. Only one person is checking people out and retrieving meds, so when you're 6 people deep in line it'll take you 20 min to get your turn. read more

I've been patronizing this pharmacy for the last six months or so, and I've finally decided to take my business elsewhere. My first poor experience with this pharmacy was when I asked the pharmacist/technician for a medication containing pseudophedrine. This person was not able to tell me that they did not have what I was asking for, and kept gesturing toward the formula of this medication that did not have pseudophedrine. I found out later, at another CVS, that they were no longer carrying the formula with pseudophedrine. I've had several unimpressive experiences when my doctors have sent in prescriptions. I've never simply been able to enter the store and simply pick up my medication - nor have I been able to simply go through the drive-through to pick up my prescription. The whole point of doctors sending in prescriptions - from their offices - to save their patients time, so that we don't have to wait (or at least don't have to wait quite so long) to pick up prescriptions. I've always had to wait for prescriptions that have already been called or sent in - usually about 20 minutes. My doctor's office recently sent in three prescriptions for me - upon going to pick them up, the pharmacy claimed never to receive them. On one occasion, I brought in a prescription to be filled - I had to wait approximately 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged by someone in the pharmacy. They didn't come to help me until I mentioned, fairly loudly, to the person behind me, that I'd been waiting for about 10 minutes. This pharmacy has failed me in nearly every respect. I would strongly recommend you patronize a different pharmacy. read more

A totally average, albeit convenient pharmacy. There's plenty of parking due to a private lot, which is a perk. The interior is typical of CVS pharmacies, with a multitude of signs and organized shelves. The staff seems a little underwhelming, but that may be due to the motley crew that potentially shows up here. Picking up a prescription is really easy, since there's a drive-thru window that's regularly staffed. That being said, this area of the store isn't 24-hours. Overall, this is a typical CVS, which can come in clutch when you need something on short notice. read more

I had an operation ten days ago. I told my doc I did not want opiates because they don't work and fuzz-out my brain. However, they insisted on writing a script just in-case. When my wife picked up my scripts they wanted her to take the oxy. She refused and told them to cancel the prescription. Two days later I start getting texts that it is ready so I responded with a text saying it didn't want it. However, they were only looking for the word yes. Texts continued so I cancelled the text service. Now I am getting phone calls at least once per day telling to come and get my oxy. No wonder there is a drug problem in the world. Drug stores need to understand that NO means NO and stop trying to make people take drugs they don't want. read more

Stopped in to grab a few quick items, went into the restroom and it was horrid, there was number one and number two all over the place, disgusting. Went to get a drink out of the beverage cooler and many of the racks were out of stock and covered in mold. I put my items down and left without making a purchase. In my opinion this should be a safety concern since they sell packaged foods and provide medication. This place needs a corporate audit. read more

The lead pharmacist seems very burdened by the existence of customers. She is very rude. Most of the staff at the pharmacy here seem overworked and stressed, but to a point that quality health services are not being provided. I've had my prescription given to me incorrectly and told I was wrong. There have been times when staff have told me I have to contact my doctor for refills, only to find out from my PCP that this isn't true. I've also heard staff discuss their issues with previous customers, loudly. I'm a trans person that has to pick up HRT stuff from this place, and knowing that staff talk about customers like this is concerning for many obvious reasons. I know that CVS isn't at risk of losing business because of a mean pharmacist, but it is really just a bummer to have had this experience in Ann Arbor and I wanted to warn other trans folks from going here. read more

Do not get your prescriptions here, the pharmacist would rather watch you go without necessary medications than go beyond their "preference" of "not breaking boxes." Will not sell insulin needles to you without a refill on your prescription even if you're willing to pay cash and are filling an insulin script at the same time. In general, the tone of this pharmacy is patient-hostile. Go to the CVS on State near campus for compassionate care. read more

I have been trying to get my dying dog's medication filled for 2 days. The first CVS didn't have the medication in stock so they called this CVS, who confirmed they did. I had the vet call this CVS, and they called me back saying they talked to someone who confirmed the prescription. I went to pick it up the next and was informed it would take 15 mins, but that I could leave and they had my number. So I did, and 30 mins later went back to ask what had happened. They said they had paged me in the store...they didn't have the medication. I told them what had happened yesterday and nobody explained what they were doing, but just stopped talking to me. I finally (after 45 mins) said I didn't have time for this because I have class, and one of the women there started snapping at me, telling me to "calm down," blaming me for not being in the store when they paged me even though they told me I could leave, and talking over me. I will never, ever be coming back here...and I'll be warning everyone else against it as well. read more

(This review applies to the actual pharmacy part of the store. The store portion is just like another CVS chain store, and I don't have much to add... I would rate that an average 3 stars.) Your family regularly gets our prescriptions filled at this CVS, but honestly, we might have to rethink our regular visits as they are invariably frustrating. In particular, the drive through staff seem to be generally less than competent. They will ask us for our name three times in a visit to the window, all the while holding our insurance card. They will sometimes get the wrong additional items from the store (usually get the prescriptions right), and sometimes have never heard of products they carry. (Recently we asked for some Pedialyte, but the window staff had no idea what that was... at a drug store?!) They take a long time to fill prescriptions, even when they are prepackaged (I do realize that the pharmacist needs to check each order, but they still seem to take longer than other drug stores we have been to.) The last time we were there, our doctor had faxed in the prescription, twice, and both times they denied ever receiving it. We spent 2 hours total driving around waiting for the prescription fax to come in from the doctor's office, and they eventually realized that their fax machine was jammed. I'm pretty sure we will start getting our prescriptions filled at another location in future. Too bad, as this location was convenient for us. read more

Very bad service. Including Phamacy and photo section. Phamacist and technician were not friendly as I expected. Although it's nearest CVS for me, finally I transfered my family's phamacy store to another CVS store even it takes 15 minutes longer driving than Plymouth Rd. Photo section, one time, went to pick up, they could not find my printed photos (email shows ready to pick up) in those trays. After searching minutes, it's found beside a monitor, without paper bag, without label. Another time, they could not find my photos anywhere, I said it's weird, I shew them the confirmation order information on my cell phone, the manager just said, I don't know why, if you want to get photos, then go home resend it...... Without any sorry words. After back home, I submitted photos to another CVS store. I will never go back. read more

I am a physician. I have practiced in this community for decades and have recently retired. I spent the last few years working with health care organizations on improving the quality of care and health outcomes for patients. For years my family and I have mainly used this pharmacy to fill our prescriptions. I recently transferred all of my prescriptions to another local pharmacy up the street, also a chain pharmacy. The reason is this: the staff at this pharmacy are clearly overworked, over burdened and very stressed because this pharmacy is understaffed and poorly managed. They have made mistakes filling my prescriptions. While some of them seem like nice, but stressed people, the situation here has led them to become inattentive and unempathetic. I have asked them important questions regarding my medications or issues with getting them and they very quickly slip into the mode of trying their best to blow me off and give me non-answers that mean they don't have to think, or make a call, or do something to help me. Having worked on quality problems in health care systems, I can say that in my opinion, this type of behavior in this kind of atmosphere will lead to mistakes (as it has for me) and will harm their customers. read more

Good CVS with generally very friendly staff. As noted by another review it's a pain to get out of here during peak traffic hours on Plymouth Road. I've never used the pharmacy itself but they have a good selection of vitamins and supplements and the CVS brand for such items is pretty good. CVS has a lot of good snack food (nuts, chips) and pretty good deals every so often on soft drinks. They also have a pretty good health section. All in all it's a good CVS but while the location is convenient it's a bit too close to a busy stretch of Plymouth (which may be why the company sought out this location)! read more

Some pharmacy staff members are nice, others are insanely rude for no reason. I stopped getting prescriptions filled there a couple of years ago, because I just didn't want to deal with the snarky pharmacy staff anymore. But I started working near there and finally decided to try it again. My experience today was the worst yet. The staff at the regular registers are generally very nice, and there is one woman who is a manager who is absolutely great and will help you find the best beauty products, etc., to fit your needs. Good as a store for toiletries, etc, but avoid the pharmacy, especially if you're a woman. read more

Worst Pharmacy I have ever patronized! My Rx's are never ready when they are called ahead by my Dr's office. Pharmacist/Pharmacy Techs are rude, and display a "I hate this job" attitude! Not friendly at all. On my latest (and last) trip to the Pharmacy I was waiting in line directly behind a customer that was picking up her RX. Of course, it wasn't ready...almost, said the Pharmacist. The customer stepped aside to wait for her Rx and I stepped up to the counter. The clerk promptly refused to acknowledge me standing there and proceeded back to her station and started to work. I stood at the counter in disbebelief for 5 minutes until she looked up finally...at this point there were several people in line behind me. There were at least 4 other workers working behind the counter at the time. When the clerk finally approched me, she was very rude and acted like I was wasting her time. I told my husband about the experience as we left the store and he was upset that I did not provide some "customer feedback" at the counter. Next time I will make it a point to obtain the clerks name and elevate my dissatification at the corporate level! Too many unfavorable experiences from this pharmacy to list, but the other reviews are spot on! I must say that the clerks at the front counters are always nice and freindly. This stores location is very convenient and we normally stop 3-4 times a week and probably spend $100 a week, not including Rx's. From now on, we plan to go out of our way to patronize the Rite Aide located at the corner of Huron Pkwy and Plymouth Road. Bottom line, your pharmacy employees with attitudes are costing you money! read more
