I especially like their selection of sea moss options and the different variations available. The store is on the pricier side, but that aligns with the quality and uniqueness of the products. What helps balance that out is their free membership program. You can sign up at no cost and receive member pricing and discounts, which honestly feels like a no brainer. Having both member and non member pricing is helpful, and the savings definitely add up over time. I also love that they have an in store cafe where you can order food and drinks. Their beverage and snack options lean toward the healthier side, and there are plenty of good choices to grab while shopping. Parking is easy since the store is located in a plaza with plenty of spaces. I had their fresh lentil soup which was incredible and had my favorite energy drinks here too. Took home some new products. What I got dissapointed at was their bargains at the entrance. The staff apparently didn't bother to check some of their products but some of the food on clearance has been expired for months! Regardless that I spent $2 and it wasn't much. It's something that shouldn't be overlooked. I do like the friendly staff and willing to give this place a second chance.

Bulk foods, organic and veg/vegan/eco friendly products and groceries, and tons of grab and go and hot bar options if you're not the cooking type (or don't have the time/energy to cook) so you can still have a healthy, pseudo-home cooked meal. The coffee shop in the front of the co-op is excellent. I've definitely set up here more than a few times with my laptop to get some work done while sipping a delicious latte and snacking on a tasty vegan baked good. Staff is so friendly and the wifi is solid. Parking in the area (since it's in Kerrytown) can get dicey but there are a few lots nearby and there's street parking which ebbs and flows depending on the day of the week and time of day. When I met her in 2018, she introduced me to the wonderful place that is By The Pound (we affectionately refer to it as BTP), and it was always a treat to visit. We always stocked up on their candy (which, by the way, is of the highest quality and with EXTREMELY fair prices), coffee, almost any flour you can think of, and any odd spice that you may need. If you only need a tablespoon of something for a recipe that isn't in your cupboard, you don't have to go to Meijer and buy a whole bottle of something you'll rarely ever use! The employees are all very friendly as well. Whenever you need assistance, they go above and beyond to help. Since, we moved to Athens, GA, and BTP is at the top of the list (right next to Sparrow Meat Market) of stores we miss. We often talk about tossing our graduate degrees and just opening up a bulk foods shop here in town. We miss having this resource at our fingertips. The past 2 years, we return to the Michigan area during the winter holidays and always make sure to stop at BTP. Their treats make great stocking stuffers, and I ALWAYS have to stock up on those dark chocolate coconut clusters (I just finished the last one -- hence writing this review -- and I'm sad I can't find anything like them on the internet or here in town).
