Stopped by here last weekend, but I showed up a bit late. They open at 6 am, so you can expect some of the more popular donuts to be sold out by 11. Nonetheless, there is no "losing" when you come to eat here. I was still able to try some cake donuts: chocolate, blueberry, and cinnamon. WOW. Located right in downtown St Louis. The unassuming Donut stand was open on a Sunday morning. I bought 2 each of the cake donuts- blueberry, chocolate and red velvet. She was huffing and puffing I would never be back here nor my company ever use this place again- it is amazing to me that local businesses want your business but when you're there they don't want you there. read more

Went in on a rainy day today, instantly hit with a sweet smell of donuts being freshly made. Everything looks delicious and the inside was nice and clean. I went with the chocolate covered sprinkles, jelly filled, Apple fritter, twist donut, and cinnamon crunch. All were delicious and definitely worth the drive in the rain. Stopped in to try a new place for donuts. A basic small donut shop. We arrived about an hour before closing so the selection was limited. We got a couple long johns, custard filled, jelly, cinnamon roll, apple fritter, glaze twist and blueberry cake. All were good standard donuts. The blueberry cake has a dry texture inside. The apple fritter was good- a bit of crunch on the outside with a cinnamon apple middle. Long Johns looked standard...the icing was really messy. Over all a good stop but it won't become our regular donut shop. read more

Pharaoh's donuts are a delicious sweet treat to indulge in the morning. My only reason for giving 4 stars is because some of them were just a little too sweet for us. We orders a handful of donuts to try a variety. Our favorite were the glazed and lemon(I think?) custard filled donuts. The apple fritter was good but sweet and so were the oreo and crumb cake donuts. Silly me forgot to take photos of the actual donuts but I did remember to take a picture of the packaging because I thought it was just so cute! read more

So let's face it. This is not one of those places you go to for fancy coffees, kiss your ass service and convenience. The window display is messy, you'll either park and risk getting a ticket or find a spot three blocks over. There is no real decor and I've never actually seen a menu unless I've somehow missed it. The donut flavors are not listed on the displays and you may feel rushed to make a decision. What you will come here for is a damn good donut. To impress your coworkers. To make your family happy. To feed your emotions with that glazed donut so light and fluffy you don't feel like you ate anything so make sure you get two. You will get fresh donuts and the trip will be worth it. They will pull them off the racks behind them and don't be surprised when you get in the car and can't help but bite one and you realize they are almost still warm and you practically wet your pants it's so good. If you want to feel more civilized. Get a side of donut holes to eat in the car - you can get them in multiples of 6. But get 12. The first six will go so fast and you will be going through withdrawal within minutes. Personally, I'm not a fan of cake or "fancy" donuts - I prefer glazed yeast donuts. These are so light and fluffy and delicious and dangerous. Just go there, support your local (black owned) business and you will laugh every time you drive by a Dunkin or a Krispy Whaaaaa. If I was only rating the donuts I'd give a perfect 5 stars. I subtracted one for atmosphere/ambiance. read more

Really good donuts. In STL for a conference which led to two morning trips to Pharaoh's. The first day service was unnecessarily slow and staff was a bit rude when I asked if a donut was maple ... I was informed it was caramel. Oh well, it was good. Second trip the staff was very friendly and helpful. If I'm ever in STL again I would return. read more

Welcome to another edition of Saturday morning donuts for work. This morning I stopped at Pharoah's Donuts. I'd been about 2 times before which is good because if you don't know where you're going it's not really obvious there's a donut shop in a random building downtown under a parking tunnel (7th & Pine.) When you get out of the car you can smell the donuts though so that's promising. I went with a dozen and they give you 13. Their donuts are great. One of the better shops in town. Their glazed donuts could probably stand up to anyone's. My coworkers were super happy. YUM. read more

This little spot was right at the corner of our Airbnb and I found it after searching for the nearest coffee place. I walked down the street and there it was... From the outside, it didn't look like it was open there is a small sign out front that mentioned donuts and pointed to the door which was teally helpful. The donut case is to the left snd had a decent selection of standard, glazed and cake donuts. The cinnamon rolls are massive and the donuts are a nice size too. The gentleman at the counter was so sweet and seemed to appreciate everyone's business. I love supporting small businesses and the quality here can't be beat. The donuts were better than Dunkin and Krispy. Stop by Pharoah's and spread the word to support and indulge. read more

PD is a great additional to the CWE (Their new location right next to Busey Bank and Blue Mercury in space formerly occupied by Coffee Cartel, RIP). I tried the blueberry cake (Delicious!), red velvet (Great!), and apple fritter (very good)! I am a big fan of blueberry cake donuts and this was the perfect one. Not too dense, well-glazed, perfection. The apple fritter didn't have very much apple in it and was more like a cinnamon roll in flavor. Very good but missed on the apple. The red velvet is just like the blueberry cake in style, but obviously a different flavor. It was very good! The place is small inside but they are quick, attentive, and the prices are really good. Grab a donut and walk around the CWE. STL has a lot of great donut places throughout the city but none really close to the CWE area. This is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood that I hope is able to stick around for a long time! read more

This little cute donut shop across the street from my hotel was open. I got an apple fritter, two glazes, and one cinnamon donut. I found the donuts to be a little sweet but in a good way. Excellent customer service. The young lady informed me they're open 363 only close on Thanksgiving and Christmas. read more

Hole in the wall, very bare bones decor downtown. The service is personal, so it can be brusque, bright, cheery or grumpy depending on who you are talking to. The donuts are masterpieces, and exactly suited my taste. They are on the larger side, not little sugar bombs, but not flavorless puff balls either. They had a lovely texture, good glaze and the filling was not overly sweet, so I could actually distinguish the flavor components. read more

Finally had a chance to try Pharoah's Donuts ,after years and years of hearing other people tell me how good they were ..........well here is the verdict. Glazed donuts 3/5- The glazed is too sweet like Krispy Kreme's (which I don't like) however for some reason unlike Krispy Kreme, it wasn't straight sugar no mass. This donut has some bounce. You know like more bounce to the ounce. Every time I took I bite the donut would rise go down and come back up like bed mattress. So even though I tasted too much glazed when the donut 1st entered my mouth , by the time it got to my stomach I had mass appeal of donut and not sugar ( unlike Krispy Kreme).. I think it's the yeast lol Jelly donut: 4.5/5 Im not one to usually try jelly donuts. They are just not my thing, but this place's jelly donuts were looking too good not to try. And it was like WOW this donut is fit for a king. Pharoah's are hands down my favorite donuts in STL. Usually, I try to go on Saturday mornings right after cycle. It's downtown, so if you go on a Saturday afternoon, parking can be hard to find. The entrance is pretty inconspicuous, so just look for the sidewalk sign on the corner of 9th and Pine. The guy that's always behind the counter is super friendly and is enthusiastic about the dones! There is nothing like their fresh glazed donuts. Of course, I am also a sucker for their caramel iced donuts and their blueberry donuts! Whew!! So good. Soft and delicious! They are not known for having a ton of variety or super out their options, but the donuts they have are worth every penny and more. read more

What a weird place. We really wanted to like it, but couldn't. We showed up at 9am on a weekday. The donut case was pathetically empty with only 4 basic options. None of the exotic pictures you see on here. The donuts were fine. They're basic donuts. Hard to mess them up. The workers were nice-ish. Typical complacency and apathy that you see at poorly run establishments. Place was dirty, coffee was empty because the complacent workers didn't refill it, bathroom out of order, and the employees weren't professional - lots of bickering amongst themselves, complaining, no service, etc. All in all, if you're nearby and want a basic donut, this place is fine. We were just at a Yelp event where we had the unexpected pleasure of fresh assorted donuts. The classsic glaze was a solid 5 from every person at our table of 6. They were absolutely melt in your mouth pure deliciousness! I'm sure you"re thinking, "a glazed donut- unoriginal and uninspired" ... however, that is not so. I love donuts. I honestly make it my business to go out of the way to try any and every donut spot. So with that I was excited to give Pharaoh's a try because all of their sweets look amazing. The first one I tried happened to be apart of the donut burger with Mac's (available Sunday's only) and I knew immediately I had to try more. My husband surprised me one day and brought back a half dozen before he went to work. The apple crumble I had was so delicious! Super moist and fresh. Basically a pillow of heaven. They also have cakes. Which I am looking forward to getting one for my daughter's upcoming graduation/birthday/Navy enlistment celebration and my husband's bday. If you are looking for a fresh donut at a fair price. I found what you were looking for. Even though the selection is a little thin (a dozen varieties but lacking cake donuts or my personal favorite- tiger twists) they make up for it with guality. Every donut is made fresh right before your eyes. On my first visit I had a glazed ring along with a maple bar(long john). The glazed donut was light and airy while the maple bar was perfect. Right sized with an ample amount of maple icing. I noticed they make buttermilk donuts. So perhaps I was wrong. As my memory serves me a buttermilk ring donut is a cake donut. Now if they would only carry a tiger tail. (A kneeded raised glazed donut alongside a chocolate raised donut). Yum! Keep up the good work. read more

Walking distance from Busch Stadium and Hilton Ballpark Hotel. This place really is a MUST stop when you're in STL. Donuts are AMAZING. We stopped here on our way out of town and were not disappointed. The sign is a bit hard to notice and blends in with the building but it's there and it's worth a visit.
