THE BEST standard donuts in St. Louis, and maybe anywhere! Their raised donuts are big and pillowy, with the slightest crisp on the exterior. Apple fritters are solid (in execution, not density). They have other hot breakfast items which we haven't tried but seem popular. It's no frills, but for a standard donut you can't go wrong. This is the kind of place I hesitate to give a good review to try and keep a secret! But I hope they never go out of business and maybe expand. If there is one drawback, it's the coffee, in that they only have drip, and don't have espresso. Other minor gripes, occasionally donuts are slightly under done, but always still very good, and they only rarely have sugar dusted raised donuts (you can call ahead for special requests though). read more

Oops. I posted on the check in. Anyway. Nice and clean. Great selection of donuts, muffins and sandwiches. The fridge is stocked with milk and juices. The donuts are always fresh. I have yet to try the sandwiches but aim to do so soon. It's strictly take-out. No place to sit and enjoy your donuts. The service is always fast and efficient. Let's be very frank about this, these are the top doughnuts in the St. Louis area, period. I have tried most of the 4+ star locations (this is the only 5 star rated shop with multiple reviews). They make the best cake doughnuts with a slight crisp on the outside with a soft moist interior texture. The oil is fresh. The frosting has an excellent flavor profile without being overwhelmed with sugar. Finally, the price is reasonable in today's market ($1.79 each, $9.99 for a half-dozen) where I see some stores charging almost $5 per doughnut! I actually went to a donut spot that was ranked #1 donut in a competition one year for st. Louis and I was disappointed. It was subpar. The donuts at JMC were amazing ! Soft, but with a chew, sweet but not overly sweet literally the perfect dough. PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT AND REVIEW THEM SO THEY GET ON THE RADAR. A small shop with a small donut selection but...oh, the glazed! Jmc has traditional donuts like long Johns (glazed and iced), chocolate cake, cinnamon rolls, jellies, apple fritters and a few more. Was shopping at Costco business center and searched best donuts near me. JMC was top of the list, and I can confirm for good reason! Small shop with quick, pleasant service. Best part was the donuts of course. I got chocolate frosted long Johns, glazed, chocolate cake glazed, blueberry cake, and one shaped like a croissant. My husband said the glazed was the best glazed donut he's had in his entire life (50+ years). The long John was perfect. Frosting was chocolatey and the bready part was soft and fresh but with some bite to it (not sure how to explain--but it was perfect). The cake donuts were sooo moist. I got early Sunday morning after enjoying Rose' Day and I didn't feel like making breakfast or traveling far from the house so I decided to try this place after passing by quite a few times. I decided to give it a try. I ordered the glaze donut, lemon donut, cake donut fritter and avocado sandwich loaded with tomatoes, lettuce, jalapeno peppers, onions, mayo on a crescent. I tried the cake donut first and I love the crunch on the outside and the moist texture on the inside! Sooo good! The avocado sandwich hit the spot for my hunger pain! The service was quick and sufficient for a pick up and go place and pick order came quick! There are a few tables and chairs for sitting however I didn't see anyone sitting down to eat, they were just picking up from the order window. These are the best donuts we have found in St. Louis! For several years, we have been on a quest to find really good tasting donuts. We don't really care what they look like, only that they taste great. We have tried nearly every local donut shop - from all areas around St. Louis and even over the river in Illinois. We have found some good donuts and some really bad donuts. Too many places are using old oil or adding something to their dough that gives them an odd sort of salty/bitter aftertaste. But JMC Donuts taste fantastic! Our favorites are the apple fritter and the cinnamon roll. They taste fresh and the dough is light and tender. We live in S. County and they are up north so my husband buys them on his way into work and brings them to me in the evening. They are still delicious the next morning, not tough and dried out like a lot of places. And he says the people working there are wonderful, too! He has also had their breakfast sandwich and said it was great. Go and support this place! I need for them to stay in business so my husband can keep bringing me donuts! read more

This is our first time trying this place. We ordered the regular glazed donut, 2 Boston crème donuts, a cake donut, a blueberry cake donut and a croissant donut. Overall the quality is very good. They have the best fluffy interior of any donut in St Louis. The interior is light, fluffy and pillowy without any grease. Specific thoughts on the donuts: Boston crème: perfect filling ratio with abundant filling. The only criticism is that the chocolate layer could have been slightly thicker. Glazed: perfect glazed donut. Light, fluffy. Croissant donut: honestly the most disappointing. It was a competent yeasted donut in the shape of a croissant. I was expecting layers in the inside but it was essentially a normal glazed donut. Cake donuts: fluffy and moist without the overbearing density that cake donuts often get. The price is one dollar a donut which is slightly on the higher end but definitely worth it. This will be our go to donut spot from now on. read more

Been going to JMC Donuts since it opened. We are donut lovers and we couldn't wait to try one that was literally just up the street. It has grown so much and evolved and they don't just have donuts now. They have fantastic breakfast sandwiches and burritos, now. A pretty decent growing menu actually. Coffee is always hot and good and their glazed donuts literally melt in your mouth and last for DAYS! Not greasy and very tasty. The icing on the long johns is perfect and not too sweet. You will also be impressed with their cake donut offerings...at least I am. The cake is almost crispy on the outside but moist and delicious inside. I always get the plain cake donut with chocolate icing. Even though glazed is normally my go to I find myself really enjoying the cake donut the most. I want to try the apple fritter one day and one of the breakfast burritos because I really like breakfast burritos but for now I'm going to stick to and LOVE these donuts.
