I finally popped in here after hearing about Pharaoh's for years. I came late morning, so a lot of the selection was sold out. I just wanted a sweet treat, so I only needed one. If you want a large amount, get there early! I grabbed a vanilla donut with sprinkles and it was delicious. I'm really simple when it comes to sweets, and it definitely hit the nail on the head. The donut was soft and the frosting was delicious. It was fantastic; I'd definitely return! read more

The two cream cheese icing donuts got squished in the bag so that's why they're a bit messed up but tbh it was that good. It was overwhelming and I definitely wouldn't get again. The cinnamon roll type of donut was good. Sprinkles were basic. The lady didn't care to help too much. The donut shop was small like any other. I wouldn't get donuts from here again. I think since I love donuts and have been to so many donuts shops everywhere in different states and cities that these weren't worth buying again when I come back to St. Louis read more

So I haven't actually been to pharaoh donuts. However, somebody at work brought in a couple dozen this morning. He had a box of mixed and a box of glazed donuts. I had one of the glazed donuts and I have to tell you it was the best glazed doughnut I've had in my entire life. Buttery and soft and I'll be dreaming of these donuts and the nice thing is they are just inside St. Louis but they do close early in the afternoon. I wish they had longer hours, but that's OK. I will catch them. read more

The is the CWE location. This location has a small selection of donuts. If you want more selections, you need to go to the downtown location. Nevertheless some of the best donuts in the city can be found here. Check them out whether your in CWE, downtown or just want the best the city has to offer in donut culinary! read more

The donuts were amazing! I bought them for staff and they said they were the best they've had. The only reason it is four stars is because the inside looked like it could use a refresh. We didnt stay to eat there so it wasnt a big deal. read more

Yoooooo. Yall know donuts are my LIFE. I'm so happy to finally get around to trying Pharoah's donuts. I got 2 vanilla sprinkle donuts for my daughters. They were so delicious, soft and perfectly sweet. I have been back twice since then. They are a little pricey. I spent six dollars on two donuts. The customer service is also great every time we come in. Will definitely come back for my twice a month cheat breakfast meal. read more

OMG! Best donuts I have ever had, hands down. In an era when the Dunkin Donut has shrunk and it takes three or four to feel full, Pharaohs is bucking the trend. I walked to the small location in the Central West End. Parking looked limited. They bring the donuts in from another location but they were still warm when I got them! Can't recall if any seating inside but there are sidewalk benches on the street outside. Easy to walk or drive past the small and unassuming storefront so keep your eyes peeled. Black-owned and staffed business. Very friendly folks. Highly recommended. read more

This place is everything! They have all of the tasty doughnuts, they are all light and fluffy, melting your mouth. This is the number one donut shop for me in St. Louis both locations. Nothing like a soft and airy light, delicious doughnut. Customer service is always great! read more

The ascetic of Pharoahs Donut is not much. They can do much better to make it more appealing. They don't have any decor. The service was nice. There was only one staff member present. She did a great job of taking care of us. She suggested other things as well. The donuts are amazing. The were fresh and very delicious . Come and give this place a try if you was great tasting donuts. read more

I placed an order with them on Too Good To Go with a pick up between 2:30-3 and when I arrived shortly after 2:30 the business was closed.

One of my friends loves this donut place and says it's one of her favorites in Saint Louis so I decided to give it a try! It's a small hole in the wall donut shop in the Central West End (kind of discreetly tucked away into a corner). Inexpensive and no frills. I like the glazed ones' texture! The cinnamon one was a bit harder and a bit too sweet (but they are donuts after all)! read more

Pharaoh's has become a household staple given how reliable the quality is and how well-priced everything is. It's so easy to overlook it on a walkabout in Maryland Plaza because it's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, but it's definitely worth checking out. Service was quick and good. They've got all the classics and some fun ones that seem to be on rotation/based on season. The classics are as you'd expect them to be. Some of my favorites that I've tried are the cinnamon roll one (the perfect combination between a light, glazed donut and the flavors and swirl of a cinnamon roll) and the apple fritter (just such a solid pick with flavor and texture). They close pretty early and can run out every so often, so it's recommended to grab your donuts earlier in the day if possible! read more

Looks like my other 2 reviews didn't post The 1st time they only had 2 types of donuts the 2nd time I went a week later their were kids in the back office 4 employees was on the floor yet only 1 was actually working and the one was making coffee so with that being said this location is not a good customer service location as for the donuts I wasn't given the opportunity to c heck them out read more

I've been to this donut shop several times. I've usually had the chocolate long johns. Each time I've had them, they are very messy to try and eat and the paper is wrapped around the chocolate side so that when you try and pull it off it removes a lot of the chocolate. The chocolate that is on the long john seems to have a more finely granulated sugar texture. In other words, it's not a smooth type of chocolate. It also doesn't seem to have a very chocolatey flavor to me. I won't say that their donuts are bad. It's just that I guess I prefer a different type of donut. The service is always been prompt and polite. As far as the interior of the shop goes, it's fairly plain with one main glass case with the donuts displayed. read more

Great little shop on Maryland. Small donut counter but the basics are covered. Glazed. Cake. Jelly. Long Johns. Glazed. My favorite. Must get. Light. Tasty. Fluffy. Blueberry cake. Was good but not my favorite. Boston crème. Good. I would definitely return and get a dozen glazed. read more

Great donuts, limited drinks. Loved the personality of the worker. This was CWE location.

*It's true. I didn't believe it, but it's true. This is the best donut in the country! I've lived in this city for 5 years and I've never been here because there is another donut shop much closer to me that is fabulous and I've always thought, how much better could Pharoah's really be to warrant an additional 15minute drive. Well friends, the raves about this place are all warranted and I have been taught my lesson - I just didn't know what a fabulous donut was until now! Their yeast donuts have the perfect mixture of fluff and chew, you get just the slighted hit of of fried goodness, the glaze is sweet with out being overwhelming - though you need a napkin handy like all good donuts. In fact, I've always hated long johns - if you're going to give me THAT much donut it should be filled with custard or jelly, but not here. Their frosting has real flavor and their dough is so good I could eat a donut without frosting and be happy. I now like long johns....but only at Pharaohs. Their Boston Cream was right on with real custard not weird frosting in the middle and their jelly donut was somehow still the weird confectionary jelly but better than what the other places use. They also don't overfill, which I appreciate. Their cake donuts - perfection. There are an unbelievable amount of donut shops in this town, some of which I would give you side eye for bringing to my home, but many of which I'd be happy for. After all - it's hard screw up fried dough and sugar glaze. But screwing up and mastering are two different things and Pharoah's has mastered the donut in a way that in my 40 years of life I had no idea you could. This is the best donut I've had in the country. Unknowingly buying a home far away from this bakery was the best thing the universe has ever done for me because I'm already fearing for my health and waistline now that I know I'm living in the same city as the best donut in America. read more

I come every Saturday to get the cake donuts and they are consistently good. I've noticed the downtown location seems to have more flavor variety than the CWE. They are 10 minutes apart so it's good to try both read more

This little hidden gem in St. Louis is everything you'd want from a local mom-and-pop donut shop. The donuts were incredibly fresh and delicious, paired perfectly with a simple cup of black coffee. The shop has a slightly run-down vibe, and the area might feel a little sketchy, but that's part of the charm - it's authentic, unpretentious, and clearly loved by locals. The service was friendly and the staff are funny. For what you'd expect from a local mom and pop shop, they're doing awesome, and I love supporting small businesses like this! Definitely worth a visit. read more

Ordered for pickup twice and both times they were closed during the scheduled pickup time.

Don't expect frills, but do expect yummy donuts and friendly service at this dive doughnut shop. Parking is off street by meter. It's a very small store front you can easily drive by, I did. The area was clean. There is no dining in or tables or outside. It's carry out only. The selection was still pretty good at around 930 on a Sunday. There is a single smallish case. My kids got a few varieties. I got a blueberry cake type. The prices were a steal. We took our doughnuts over to another business across the street to enjoy. The doughnut were fresh and overall pretty good. I've had better, but still tasty. I would have no issue returning. read more

The donuts were DELICIOUS! My sister got the chocolate long John and a strawberry filled jelly donut and I had the apple fritter! Fabulous!

Customer service was fantastic! Loved chatting with the employees while I picked out some donuts The donuts are amazing. Every single one we tried was delicious. Since John's Donuts is ALL THE WAY IN SOULARD. Pharaoh's Donuts has been picking up the slack. No, but really. Pharaoh's is close to work and they offer the best donuts in the area and beyond. My sister hipped me on to them. She's the donut queen and has extremely GREAT taste in donuts. So when the opportunity presented itself to try Pharaoh's I hopped on it. I love their donuts. The quality is bar none. They are fresh and just out of this world delicious!!!! Did I mention they are large and in charge. I don't know what their donut recipe is but HOT DAMN, they are sitting on a gold mine. read more

I search for black owned coffe shops on yelp and this donut shop came up. I got a twist and a cake- cinnamon crunch and a apple fritter they were so so delicious. The twist was nice and airy. The cake donut just melted when you took a bit. Then the star of the show Apple fritter with small pieces of the apple to go with that airy dough soooo yummy. The service was so welcoming. This stop is a must when in STL. read more

really yummy, they're really nice and the donuts are delicious! will definitely be returning.

Love the location, love that it's black-owned, love the donuts, do not love the service. This has become our go-to donut spot because of the location, variety of donuts, and I always love supporting my people. The service has been wacky ~60% of the time I'm there. I almost always walk out with a dozen (or three) donuts, and it always feels like a bit more of an ordeal than it has to be. But still, the donuts are so dang good I keep going back anyway. The cinnamon crunch donut is a family favorite, the cheesecake stuffed donut is super yummy, and overall every donut has been great. read more

The donuts are fantastic. Now I ain't going to lie. For a baker's dozen of donuts you're looking at $35-36 dollars IF you ask for a variety without specifying specific donuts. But I imagine it's at least slightly cheaper for, say, a box of 12 glazed. I'm speculating. I personally think $3 per donut is nuts, but the product is great and I love dictating where my money goes, vis-a-vis a family-owned black business. The parking is Maryland Plaza/Euclid parking, so it's only convenient between the hours of 6:00am and 8:30am. But the service is very friendly. Two thumbs up. read more

Oh yeah! 'Stopped in to feed the crew and loved the experience. I lucked out with a parking spot in front and the two women in the shop were so helpful and friendly. The owner? Manager? offered to make me a fresh long John on the spot-- nice! Had the specialty dozen and especially enjoyed the red velvet, apple crumb, and Boston Creme. Good regular coffee too! read more

Okay donuts. Okay service. Overall, disappointing. I will add maybe the other locations are better but there were no menus to know what was available today , there were more donuts in the back she didn't even mention were an option until I asked, the lighting was so poor I had to turn on my phone flashlight lol. I just feel they could have spent more time on the inside of the store. As a first time customer I knew nothing but when I arrived I was given no assistance on what was offered, had no ideas of pricing as their were no signs and even when I asked if it was cheaper to get 6 donuts the answer was it just depends on which I pick. I was suggested visiting this donut shop as I love donuts and always try to hint a few donut spots in a new city but this one was not for me. Its been a very long time since I have given a two star review but everything was just subpar and disappointing... read more

I've had Pharoah's donuts before at various events and from different businesses that sell them. I am sad to say I never made it down to their original location! I was so happy to read they were opening a location in the CWE right on Maryland. I came this morning around 8:30 and they had a steady flow of customers. I got the cinnamon roll, Apple fritter, pink sprinkle, and a cinnamon cheesecake. I loooooove their apple fritters they are amazing and a very generous size. My daughter loved the pink sprinkle of course. Can't wait to come back again! read more
