Just fantastic all the way around. Delicious donuts and pastries, affordable prices, and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. While all their varieties are delicious, I have to give a special shout out to their fried apple fritters! Good Lord they are good! Imagine someone taking the inside of a homemade apple pie, you know almost all sliced apples and little filler, and then rolled in with some delicious donut batter. Then tossed into the fryer to become crispy and golden brown, with all the crunchy edges you could want, then topped with a light sweet glaze. Sure it might stop your heart, but it wouldn't be such a bad way to go for this bad boy! Anyways, like I said, it's all delicious, won't break the bank, and all served up by some great kind folks. National Donut Day and the glass case was empty. The fresh donuts coming out of the back tasted day old at best. The employees were kind and friendly apologetic for the wait for the glazed donuts. Too many other options for donuts within a 3 mile radius to drop another $15 on a dozen hoping they are better. read more

I saw a Facebook post that they had old fashion donuts yesterday morning so my husband went to get a few. They were pretty picked over by 9am, but he got a few to try- long Johns, glazed, old fashioned, and an Apple fritter. I will say we usually drive o er 20 min to our favorite donut spot that wins best donuts in STL yearly, but we had hoped to find somewhere as good close to home. Unfortunately, Shamrocks didn't meet the mark. The donuts were ok, but they lacked the freshness we were used to regardless of the time of day we buy them. The donuts were just dry. I tried bites of each one and the only one that wasn't dry was the apple fritter. The abundance of apples definitely helped with that moisture I know they often have some fancier donuts so maybe we will try a few of those in the future, but we won't be back for the standards. This place has THE BEST donuts in the whole STL and surrounding areas. (At leash that I've tried, and I've tried a lot of donuts!) Anytime one of my friends/family try them, they can't get over how good they are! They do sell out quite early on saturdays and sundays - beware! But they even offer you to make an early order with them before Saturday to pick up in the morning. Or even a standing order! This place is addicting! We try to go at least once a month (id love to go more but I'm afraid I'd gain too much weight ). I am in love with so many of their donuts- apple fritter is the best ive had, old fashions I hadnt tried before this place but they are my new favorite and i absolutely love them with coffee, and my regular has always been a long john with caramel or maple, and these are a must from here! It's such a cozy little place & i always feel at home in here for some reason. What a great business in so many ways. Nice staff, super attentive, definitely take good care of you. Take a tip from a loyal customer- we've woken up SUPER early just to get there before everyone else, especially the big weekend crowd. Overall I enjoy this shop very much. The doughnuts are so fresh and so good and the variety is great. The doughnuts usually stay fresh for a couple days after we get them home so you can snack on them later, which is awesome. However... I feel the people working sometimes aren't the friendliest. Sometimes the vibe is slightly off putting... but maybe it's just me. Certainly doesn't stop me from going but it is a bit odd. The donuts were fresh and delicious! Terri waited on us and could not have been more friendly or helpful. Theses are not the best donuts I've had but I don't think they are the worst either. I wouldn't recommend them to people I know as there are better donut places around. The chocolate on the long John's tasted like cake icing in the tub from the store and the "Cinnamon Rolls" were really just a bigger version of the cinnamon twist donuts. read more

The Arnold area has needed a good donut shop for so long and now they finally have one in Shamrock Donuts. The donuts are light and fluffy, not greasy or heavy at all. There is a great selection of classics but their specialty donuts are where it's at; we tried a Cinnamon Toast Crunch, cherry cheesecake and banana pudding donut and all were very tasty. There was a line out the door when we got there on a Saturday morning, as it would benefit from having a label or name for the many different donut types so there weren't so many questions from customer. With that said the line still moved relatively quickly. We will definitely be back! read more

Shamrock is my go to donut stop when I'm feeling a craving. Their donuts are so food I can't sleep the night before. Their apple fritter, well let's just say you can't get any more perfect, crunchy on the outside while still soft and moist in the inside. I also love the maple bacon and highly recommend to all you sweet and savory lovers. Can I offer some advice? As a parent of a peanut/treenut allergy kid, nearly every bakery and every donut shop is unavailable to us. We heard that Shamrock Donuts was nut free and went there with the whole family excited to, for the first time in years, have donuts as a family. Alas, they have pecans on one donut. They said they sometimes fall into the glazing machine so don't get anything glazed. So disappointing. HUGE OPPORTUNITY MISSED: Shamrock Donuts - get rid of all the nuts, clean all the equipment and start advertising yourself as Peanut/Treenut free - get that on every add and put it on facebook - ask us to spread the info - you'll be making a killing in no time. read more

If I could have given them no stars, I would have. Gloves were not worn in. The making and topping of any donuts. I watched the employees handle the donuts while spreading chocolate and various other toppings WITHOUT GLOVES! I mentioned it to another employee and was met with attitude from the manager (only guessing). She told me that they wash their hands constantly. I watched them touch handles, countertops, the divider to to front of the shop and then the pastries. This is serious contamination. read more
