We were in town from Chicago and before heading over to the arch we stopped in to get a dozen donuts and some coffee. Great food, Great staff, great attitudes. We loved the selection and the size of your donuts. Kids enjoyed the variety, and so did us adults! Was able to park right off the street and run in. read more

Excellent donuts. You can smell them when you're walking down the street. My husband got the red velvet cake and the Oreo donut. My glazed with lemon curd was fantastic. The brown sugar shaken espresso was good too. read more

Pharaoh's are so good. Fluffy, soft, they freaking melts in your mouth. Customer service is A1! Only problem I have with them is not their fault. It's how the city of St. Louis doesn't support small businesses. There's no way the heart of St. Louis should look this bad. read more

Thank Goodness for google & yelp because this Gem could have been missed without it! Every city I go to, I tend to use social media now for top reviews to guide me. I took a chance on this one & it did NOT disappoint. Ambience: Right on the corner so you can't miss it. I didn't see seating inside but, who needs it. Grab & go is cool for me when it comes to coffee & donuts. Staff: Super friendly from the time I walked in the door. I explained it was my 1st time, they guided me to the menu, and waited for me to select. I chose a dozen mixed & fell in love from the 1st bite. Donuts: AMAZING! Warm, soft, flaky & full of yummy goodness. When your eyes roll back in your head goodness. I texted my mother and told her about it goodness. Next time I'm in the LOU, this will be another priority stop. read more

Definitely 4-4.5 stars. The glazed was almost perfect (9.8)) Sufficiently iced glazed, a more simple glaze specifically to a good yeast donut (glaze itself could use more vanilla to make it pop) I purchased 3 items total. A glazed, cinnamon roll and a chocolate iced vanilla cake with nuts. Incredibly fresh and soft with perfect density. Service was friendly, helpful. A good place to get a good donut. read more

been at these for about 3 years. my dood is actually otw with these at 6:30 I the morning im in LOVE with pharoh's!

This place is everything! They have all of the tasty doughnuts, they are all light and fluffy, melting your mouth. This is the number one donut shop for me in St. Louis both locations. Nothing like a soft and airy light, delicious doughnut. Customer service is always great! read more

Stopped by for a quick don't after a walk. The glazed donut was big and fluffy like a cloud. A very worthy get. Service was friendly but instead of me getting a cinnamon crunch donut they gave me... another glazed donut sigh. They also came up with an iced coffee that was fine. There's no real seating but it a good place for a quick donut. read more

5 Stars - Pharaoh's Donuts is a MUST-Visit! Pharaoh's Donuts at 8 Maryland Plaza in St. Louis has officially earned my attention! Oh. My. Goodness!!! These yeasty, pillow-soft, melt-in-your-mouth little jewels of joy literally took my breath away. Every city I visit, I make it a mission to go doughnut hunting, but lately all I've been finding are oversized, over-decorated doughnuts that look amazing but lack flavor. Not Pharaoh's. These doughnuts are all about the taste. The rich, perfectly crafted yeast dough wraps your mouth with so much incredible flavor that I was literally salivating with every bite. They are light, fresh, airy, and absolutely unforgettable. This is what a real doughnut should taste like! And let's talk about the customer service! AJ was just as sweet as the treats they serve. She welcomed me with genuine kindness, asked where I was from, how long I'd be in St. Louis, and made me feel like more than just another customer. Then, just when I thought the experience couldn't get any better, I got back to my truck and discovered she had blessed me with three extra doughnuts to try! Now that's hospitality. Thank you, AJ, for making my first visit so memorable, and thank you, Pharaoh's Donuts, for reminding me what an authentic, delicious yeast doughnut is supposed to taste like. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in St. Louis. 5 out of 5 Stars! Highly recommended! read more

My phone was dying and I was trying to put some distance between myself and a crackhead, and I spotted this donut shop. The owner (I believe) was so sweet and lovely. I could tell the donuts were good immediately because they were selling out pretty fast. I purchased a cinnamon swirl and a glazed. Oh my goodness, probably the best donuts I've had in forever. I'll go as far as to say the dough and icing tasted homemade. I completely forgot about the crackhead. Thank you so much and I will definitely be back read more

Amazing donuts! Tried the chocolate long John, white cake donut, apple fritter and cinnamon roll and all are 11/10!! Coffees were made fresh to order and delicious! Will definitely visit again when in STL! read more

Donuts are sooo fresh. Super soft and flavorful. The staff was extremely nice, held a conversation, made you feel like you belong. There are a few tables, but for some reason it does feel like a to-go restaurant. Welcoming, but they're busy! Nice ambiance. read more

These doughnuts looked so good that I forgot to take a picture and dove right in. Some classic flavors, some new combinations, but all delicious. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by friendly staff. There was a short line, but it moved quickly. We are there and got to see them interact with customers. It's clear that there were several regulars. I don't get doughnuts often, but this could be my regular go to. read more

I gave this place another shot after a previous mistake, but once again, they failed to deliver. I ordered 12 items, and only 9 arrived. When I called to ask about it, the woman on the phone insisted they packed all 12, despite it being obvious they didn't. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to blame the delivery driver. This is the second time this has happened, and the staff refused to do anything to resolve it. They just told me to call Grubhub, which is incredibly unprofessional. I won't be coming back. read more

It doesn't look like much but we like it. The staff was helpful (and patient). There was a limited selection of doughnuts, however, what we had were very good. read more

Soo I used to love pharaohs...quick convenient place to pick up a lil breakfast pastry on the way to work.. and now well unfortunately not soo much... stopped by there on a Sunday 6 am and walked I. To the smell of grease... it became one of those moments where because I'm in here let me just purchase anyway rather than to be rude and walkout.. well I should've walked out .. ordered a vanilla long john and a sour cream glazed .. after leaving I realized the lingering smell of grease and two heavy donuts in a bag .. one underdone and the other sad to say...I've seen better from not only pharaohs but other places as well... I hope it returns eventually back to its glory but that day it just wasn't it read more

Yum! I'm really not a donut person and these were great. Given the choice I would almost always choose a savory bagel over a sugary donut, but these donuts were brought to my work and I heard great things so I wanted to try one. We all loved them. Everyone in the office was ranting about how good they were. I tried a cream filled donut and it was fresh and delicious. It was sweet, but not sickly sweet like I sometimes find donuts. Very good, would try again. read more

Unfortunately this place has roaches. The donuts aren't bad, but it's not clean and you can literally *see* the roaches while you order. It's a no for me. The owners TikTok excusing the roaches because "it's an old building" didn't exactly help either. read more

I absolutely love donuts - and Pharaoh's is at the top of my list. The ladies working were pleasant although we didn't spend a lot of time in the shop. The glazed twist gave me just a little more glaze than a traditional donut and it was awesome. The apple fritter my date got was still warm! He devoured it. The blueberry cake was delicious- and a perfect midnight snack. read more

The service and attitudes of the employees are horrible, not just the n one occasion but consistently. We have make choices about where to spend our coins and if the owners and managers don't care about front line employees ruining your brand with nasty unhelpful demeanors then so be it. The inside is built for a grab and go/takeout sort of situation. Despite the cashier was rushing me through my order since it was my second time there (I was perusing the case of options), the donuts I settled on were good. The attitude and confrontational manner of the woman working was unbelievable. When I asked questions about different donut flavors, she begrudgingly replied with a nasty attitude. When I repeated something to her, she got frustrated and assumed I didn't believe her and was upset that I repeated what she had told me. She then began to question my attitude towards her. I would never recommend a place like this with such poor customer service and what seemed to be a racist employee with a horrible attitude. read more

Such a small but cozy place! We came here for breakfast and got an order of 4 donuts to share. We got the glazed twist, long John caramel, apple fritter and strawberry jelly! Best glazed donut I have ever had (being so fr) . Also sweetest lady working the front.

Downtown St Louis staple that's sort of off the beaten path but, centrally located near by the arch. You can tell this is a LOCAL business that's had roots here for years; this isn't a tourist trap. It's the "real deal" as Guy would proclaim if this doughnut shop was on triple D. Pharaoh's Bakery is an old school doughnut paradise located inside an old refurbished drug store. If you are looking for sweet treats early in the A.M. then venture to Pharoah's and leave happy. I was meandering a 1 mile radius around my hotel, directly under the arch, and came across a nondescript bakery while searching for a coffee shop, it'll have to do, I thought to myself. Then once I walked inside all my doubts fleeted from me and I instantly felt at home. The way a classic diner greets you and pulls at your heartstrings Pharaoh's provided me a sense of security- I knew I was in for a treat (quite literally) Waiting patiently for my turn, my nose was delighted with the smells of sweet dough and sugar. Once I was up to the counter I went with two cake doughnuts (my favorite) and two filled doughnuts of the yeast variety. My pick by far is the red velevet cake doughnut which melted in my mouth, the rich dollop of cream cheese icing was super sweet and authentic. If you're a cheesecake fanatic I would suggest the filled cheesecake doughnut that had a glazed base and was filled (not stuffed, there's a difference) with a piping of thick cream cheese filling. I'm not a fruit doughnut lover but my friend really enjoyed the sweet cherry filled glazed doughnut which resembled a Danish. There's no fru fru flavors here, the tried and true classics that's had stood the test of time reign supreme and if a old-fashioned doughnut is what you are after then an old-fashioned doughnut is what you're going to get. And sometimes a fried pastry for breakfast just hits the spot especially when it's served up with a smile. read more

We stopped on the way to a cardinals game and we are so glad we did! Super affordable and so tasty. One of the softest donuts EVER!

If you want to go to a place that feels like an all around hung, come here. The donuts are MOUTH WATERING and service was super quick. It had been my first time here and the worker took her time with me letting me ask questions and even offering me a free donut for my first time! Sadly I didn't catch her name but she had a beautiful smile for all the customers. Totally worth an extra detour if you're ever nearby! read more

The Donut deities steered my morning walk through downtown STL into to this wonderful donut shop. I was just out to stretch the legs, and when I saw this spot, inconspicuous as it seems, I knew I had to pop in. I'm not even from St. Louis and I've heard of this, so I knew it had to be good. A quick vetting from their Yelp page and I waited through a quick-moving line and picked at random. It would be kinda nice to have some signage to tell me what's what, but at the end of the day, anything that's sugar-coated and fried is bound to taste good. I ended up picking out a few for me, a few for my friend: - Apple Fritters were the standout. We each raved about those, and they are MASSIVE. I couldn't finish it, but not for a lack of wanting to. It's a crispy-edged, soft-in-the-middle, gooey, cinnamony mess of deliciousness. - Blueberry Old Fashioned; always one of my favorites and this was no different. It's so perfectly fried that like the fritters, the edges are crisp and the inside is butter soft. The staff was efficient and friendly, and the prices amazing for how good they are. I'm raving about this and full disclosure, I'm not even really a "donut guy." I could take or leave most of them, but I'm certainly taking them anytime I'm near Pharaoh's. read more

Absolutely the best donut you will ever have. Every time we are in St Louis, this joint is a MUST. Love, love, love!

I found this place because the truck was sticking out into the crosswalk and I had to peak around it to see if there were cars coming...there were, so back onto the sidewalk I went where I noticed that this was a place I had wanted to try out anyway! Apparently they've moved locations because I located a sign on another building, not far away. The storefront itself is a little dirty. I wanted to take a shelfie of the donuts, but the glass was way too smudged for that. I was there are noon and there were plenty of donuts to pick from. I got the cheesecake donut and it was so pillowy fresh. It's a simple glazed donut, with a dollop of cheesecake cream on top. It was delicious! The gentleman behind the counter was so friendly and helpful when I asked questions. Can definitely see why this place has been around since 1994! read more

The first thing we were excited about was the fact they were open on Sundays. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and felt very welcomed. We were overwhelmed. So many different choices, from plain donuts to fancy donuts with toppings stacked. We decided on a strawberries and creme, an Oreo, and we shared a maple long John. We were on our way to the racetrack and none of the donuts made it outside of St. Louis. Absolutely incredible, so light, and fresh. Very pleased with our choice! The donuts were amazing! The best my girlfriend and I have ever had. We were in the area for the eclipse and stopped by St. Louis for a day. I cheated on the Donut Stop, but I wanted to visit this shop that had passed me a yummy donut hole while I ran the GO! Marathon 10k last year. I was rewarded in the best way! The chocolate long John was divine, soft and not too heavy on icing--not too chocolatey or too sweet. Just right, and I'm very picky about my chocolate long johns! lol The glazed donut was pillowy soft and gently sweet, one of the best glazed I've ever had. I'll be back! read more

I'm a big donut fan, I always like to try donut shops wherever I go. I stopped into Pharaoh's in downtown St. Louis. This is the real deal, with donuts baked right there. We were in St. Louis for the weekend and Pharoah's was within walking distance. On Saturday afternoon walking back we decided to stop 10 minutes before they closed. The lady working was awesome friendly and asked us if we had any questions. The donuts all looked delicious we got three different ones and they all tasted equally delicious.
