Petsmart Grooming: I dropped off my pet at 11:00 only to have them call an alternate number other than the one I specified during the visit. Pick up was at 3:30 pm, way too long to be locked up in a kennel. As I was waiting for my dog, I heard one of the groomers ask another groomer if she should apply a certain cleanser on a dog, not knowing if the dog is allergic to it, the other employee replied that she didn't know, both employees seemed clueless of the duties. Unacceptable. The staff brought out another persons dog, not my shih-tzu. At the exit of the grooming room there was urine on the floor that was not cleaned up, it defeats the purpose of a freshly groomed dog, just to have her walk in urine. My dog had multiple razor/clipper scratches all over her body. Perhaps due to the inexperience or care of the staff. I've left messages for Petsmart to contact me for further discussion, but there hasn't been a reply. Never again. Petsmart is only good for purchasing dog food and nothing more. Don't take your dog there for grooming if you care for your pet. read more

This is a review of the groomers and store manager: took my 3 small dogs there on Thursday morning. They called to tell me they would be done at 1230 and they were acting weird as I walked up. (The groomers disappeared in the back) Few minutes later, the groomer came out and said she cut the toe on one of my dogs and he was at the Banfield next door. Long story short, they had to amputate his toe. They took care of the bill for that but it shouldn't have happened to begin with. Feeling that it wasn't handled correctly and the fact that the groomer acted like it wasn't a big deal, I called and left a message with a Brandy on Friday afternoon saying I wanted to talk to the store manager. Well, I still haven't had a call back. This was the 2nd time they had injured one of my dogs and this was my LAST visit. You don't even have the balls to call me back and talk to me about the fact that your employee cut into my dogs toe so bad it had to be cut off. (The Vet said "We had to finish cutting the toe off as it was just hanging there) Be warned!!!!! read more

Don't worry the Pleco was healthy - but none of the staff warned me about how big the Plecos get! I got home, did some research, and realized there was no way I could keep 2 of them in a 10 gallon tank! So, I had to find homes for them. I was very disappointed to have to leave work in Claremont early, go back to Ontario to pick up my dog and then head over to your facility only to have your groomer see what was a small amount of tangled hair on my pomeranian's backside by her tail.   It was nowhere near "matted" to where a brushing wouldn't have done the trick.   She kept trying to get a wire comb through her hair as it was and obviously that wasn't going to happen, she needed to be bathed and conditioned first!  She proceeded to tell me that she would need to refer her to the groomer and she would have to be shaved.  What!!!!, Why in the world would you even suggest shaving a pomeranian. If you know anything about the breed, then you know they cannot be shaved!  2nd, the tangling in her back side was not anywhere near the need for shaving.   I bath my dog myself when she is in that same condition and she comes out perfect with some conditioner and brushing.   What did she mean by "refer her to the groomer"? I thought that these girls are "groomers"?   Clearly these girls don't know about specific breeds that cannot be shaved and didn't want to actually work for their money.   They want an easy wash and brush and send you on your way.   I really wanted to get her the furminator deshedding and that was the only reason I took her to your facility.   Also, prior to my appointment I received an assessment with questions regarding her behavior and health.   No where in there did it ask about the condition of the pets hair or say anything to the effect that if it is matted they will cancel the appointment.   Maybe you should make it clear to your customers prior to appointments that if the dog is what you consider "matted" it will possibly have to be shaved and/or turned away, that way we can make the decision to continue with the appointment or cancel and not waste your time or mine!!.   This was clearly a waste of my time and gas due to your lack of communication and lack of knowledge on behalf of your employees and I will never use or recommend Petsmart grooming for this reason. read more

This one star review is solely for the poor customer service I received on 10/10/2016 at 6:44pm. Unfortunately, my receipt doesn't give me the name of the girl that was at the register but it reads community cashier-487494. She is a young, light skinned girl, with light brown hair that I believe had some light pink streaks in between. Back to the review, I was purchasing a bag of puppy food and she asked if I wanted to use my $10.00 coupon from the puppy pack. I promptly said no, because I have no need for the puppy pack and I wasn't going to spend an additional $20 to get $10 off. She tried to be persistent but I declined. After that her whole mood switched. She cashed me out and tossed me my receipt with attitude face. That is AWFUL customer service and I can understand someone her age doesn't give a crap about her job but she did not have to treat me that way as I was not rude to her. I know my loss won't hurt their sales but I will never go back to that Petsmart ever again. I came in last night to get some new lights and live plants for my aquarium. The girl working the fish department was named Kelsey I believe. I have been keeping fish for years and therefore I am wary of the consistently wrong info pet store employees usually give about fish so I listened in while she helped two other families. I was impressed with the knowledge she shared and how she made sure to explain many things about tanks/filters/etc that I've never heard someone explain before. While I listened in I checked out the awesome love plants they kept in the tanks. They were flourishing and the best live plants I've bought to date including from online fish retailers. While she helped me, her and I even began to discuss our tanks and other scaled pets. I was so impressed that I'm writing this review specifically for that trip last night since I've never met Petsmart "fish expert" who was actually knowledgable. Besides this though, I shop at Petsmart pretty often and am always impressed with their stuff and the quality. On this trip I also picked up some rawhide bones for my dog and some live catnip for my cat. The check out girl Vicky was super friendly. I would definitely recommend this Petsmart for fish needs if you go the box store route. read more

My husband and I adopted our little Riley from the Upland shelter at the end of July. We went to a dog store (not PetSmart) and met an elderly lady that said she took her dogs to the Upland PetSmart and had Barbie train her dogs. She said Barbie was amazing. Then right after that conversation we took Riley to the park. We met more people there and a couple showed us how well their dog listened. They said they took their dogs to Barbie at the Upland PetSmart. That's 2 people on the same day at 2 different locations that suggested Barbie at PetSmart. So I got home and called them right away to sign up Riley for the beginners course. To my surprise her classes were booked up a month and a half out. So I took the first available class we could get. Let me tell you, Barbie was amazing. She taught us how to be better trainers of Riley. Riley is a rambunctious little girl and she wasn't a puppy when we got her, more like a teen. So it was a little difficult to get her to understand things. Barbie gave us tips on how to work on things at home and they worked! I can't believe how she STILL knows the commands! It is totally worth the money to get your dog in for training and also socializing your dog. Barbie is amazing! She truly loves animals and she's VERY sharp. She's the dog whisperer! read more

They were playing with birds and when I asked her if she had anymore of a particular item in the back all she said was 'if it's not here it's not anywhere. So I guess not!' The dog groomers here are weak! I have a big dog and he is a real relax dog. We have been here in the past and always felt a little short changed when we get the dog back. But conveince has its price. Today, they could not take our dog because they said he would not go in the cage. But last month when he was here no problem. And also four other times before. The grooming manager did come out with her better than thou attitude and tell me they have express service where they charge extra and only during the week. Oh, and an extra charge on top. Bought the puppy package and decided to use the free puppy bath coupon. I made the appointment at 2 but did not have the dog ready until 6. That is unacceptable. It does not take 4 hours of to give a 8 lb puppy a bath. If you are not going to start giving her a bath at 2, then don't make the appointment at 2. We took our dog to Petsmart for puppy training and had Barbie as our trainer. She is a great trainer. We passed puppy preschool and went on to the next level. We are so happy with how our dog is behaving. Also, whenever we had a question or an issue Barbie always had an answer or a suggestion for us. I've always have had the opportunity to shop at these stores even if it's not officially open with no problem because I've dropped my pet of. This is an excellent PetSmart. Very informative and they truly care for the animals and reptiles they house. I know that PetCo has a tendency to malnourish their leopard geckos, so seeing the healthier and more developed ones here warms my heart. We really love this petsmart. We take our dogs to get groomed here, visit vet, and for basic dog training. The store is always clean and neat. We are pretty low key dog people, so the grooming is fine for our short haired dog, we like the furminator service. The employees are nice and helpful. This store is always clean when I visit. There is a bigger variety of cat toys at this store than their local competitors. It's also comforting to see that they are helping out with cat adoptions by having spacious rooms for cats needing adoption. A customer came in with their pet bird rolling on a cute tiny cart. The cats looked very interested in the rolling bird when they passed by. I think they wanted to eat it. Or maybe they just wanted to ride the tiny cart. I called before coming in and asked if I could exchange the size of my dogs harness without a receipt and they told me I could do it. I figured with no receipt I could only do an exact item exchange. When I came in, the model I had wasnt there but they let me exchange for a different type! I was so impressed because they didn't give me a hassle for not having my receipt and my cashier (no name on the receipt) was extremely helpful and friendly. I recently bought a fish tank and stand at the Upland California Petsmart store. When assembling the stand I found that I was short one of the hinges for one of the doors. I talked to Nick at the Upland store. He didn't have another stand at his store. He called the store in Rancho Cucamonga and they had a stand. He made arrangements for me to pick up the hinge there. They had to open a new stand box to accommodate me. To me, that's service above and beyond. Most places would have just said 'call the mfg'. I will be doing more business at Petsmart for sure. read more

I was so impressed with this pet store! It was extremely clean and well organized, but the most impressive was the staff. I was buying a hamster and a young man (Edward) showing it to me treated the animals with an extreme care and was so gentle with them. He was so helpful and patient with me and my daughter and gave us lots of helpful information about hamsters. This is a place where pets are being treated with respect and great care. I Went in to this petsmart today and decided to check out some fish.. I started looking and was asked if I needed help by Kira right away with an attitude she asked me for info like what kind of tank and what fish but like if I was bothering her.. I understand she doesn't like her job or (at least that's the way she acts) but no need to act like that with paying customers.. I told her I had some baby Angels in a tank and before I could Finnish she said oh I remember talking to you about it... I didn't argue but asked what? I've never had help by this employee, so I let her Finnish she started on about how she won't give me the 14 day return if the fish are sick.. And on top of everything she couldn't even catch the fish and got frustrated and walked away and asked some one else to get them.. Really bad service! The other girl was so cool and caught the fish in seconds.. I spoke with the cashier and he was cool and very helpful and I have had help with him in the past.. He also said that she was a manager of the fish department! Really!? Could have fooled me!!! Furthermore, starting today I will not be shopping at that petsmart any more.. Never taking my dog to this location. I took my shitzu for a bath and a haircut, I was there for the last 20 minutes of my dog's grooming when they were done cutting his hair they walked him through the dirty floor where there was other dogs hair, hat wasn't the worst part, when we got home my dog was acting weird scratching a lot so I checked him only to find ticks on him. My dog had no ticks when I took him. I called the petsmart and asked to speak to a manager, I was told that the manager was gone and would give me a call back. I brushed my dog and found a total of four ticks I then have him a shower and the water was so dirty which lead me to believe that they never even gave my dog a bath. I never got a call back from the manager so I called back only for her to tell me, "is this for Oliver" which means I wasn't the only one who called in to complain about the ticks. I've been to other petsmart like the one on foothill in rancho cucamonga and there customer service is nice and there very helpful and polite.. I came to this petsmart off of campus in upland and a young employee was just sitting on the cashier counter waiting for a customer to come to the counter. Then I couldn't find a specific dog bone and the girl employee her name was Melissa wasn't very nice she said it's probably on the second aisle somewhere I said oh ok well i already looked I couldn't find it and she just said I don't know. she didn't even offer to help me or call someone. Then I get to the register and Melissa had such a bad attitude. I asked a question about a turtle product and she just said I don't know I'm not a pet expert and kept ringing my items. I looked at her thinking she wasnt very polite with a crappy attitude and she could of at least offer to call someone to come up to the counter. She acted like she didn't care. Until an attractive guy comes in line behind me and all the sudden she started making a very nice conversation trying to talk to him while ringing me out. It was like a day and night personality change. It's employees like this that don't appreciate having a job and think they can act how ever they want and not worry about customers. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!! The employees are not prompt in grooming your dogs....so they have them sit in the cage for hours. My little guy was there for 5 HOURS. When I went to pick him up ( after 2nd call) there was not one dog being groomed or in the back. HE was the only dog...what the heck!!!...... The mananger is sooooo rude and inconsiderate.
