Day camp review: I've been bringing my dogs here since 2001 when they were on the south side of Elliott Rd. Even when the staff has changed over the last 25 yrs, what is consistent is the care they provide for my most important four-legged friends. Great service for me the owner, great teamwork with the grooming salon when I have to get Winston groomed during his day, and amazing care of my dog when he comes in. And I especially love the photos I get from their premium party days, which prove Winston is having a great time. read more

Great store that's open till 9pm for all your items you need to care for your pets you love so much! It is definitely more pricey for the items than other stores or online but knowing they are conveniently there on occasion when you need an item asap that day like a dog antidiarrheal for example the store has it in stock. read more

Well... The parking lot looks trashy. Inside I did find what I came for, a Halloween costume on clearance. And because, surprisingly enough, the outfit was actually big enough to fit. I did have to wait in line while someone from staff was giving medical (?) tips for a customer ahead of me who apparently was having allergy issues with her pet. I felt the customer and the employee should have stepped aside for their discussion because 1) it became a lengthy discussion, 2) she opted to not make a purchase, and 3) this really isn't the place to discuss smelly feet/itchy ears/whatever -nor is it staffs place regardless of how much more experience he has with this over the person running cash register. My cousin took the fur baby there several times. But the last time they had difficulty accepting the fact that they had nipped the dog with hot clippers, several places. He, instead of recognizing it, they said it was dry poop on his butt. I took him to the vet because I know that my dog that stays inside would not have dry poop on his butt just like I wouldn't.!! the vet said he had razor burns and they are in denial!!! please don't take your animal there because if something goes wrong, no one will be held accountable How dare tell someone that their dog has pooped up on their butt do you not know the difference between poop and a burn? Who would have an inside dog with poop on their butt? They do get on furniture how nasty is that. Go back, renew your license and also take a pain competency class. The lady in grooming services was very rude, and explained they can only check if I did a grooming service,... even though I took my puppy there less than a week ago to get a bath and a cut. We had an appointment for bath and brush for BOTH our dogs. The phone call was long and detailed, we answered all the questions for again BOTH dogs, and she even confirmed the details with us at the end. Drove all the way here, got here on time to find that she only made the appointment for one of our dogs despite confirming on the phone she had both dogs down. Also had the wrong appointment time down for our doodle's trim the following Monday. We ended up canceling everything and just leaving. Super disappointing. read more

wow got there right after they opened for basic nail trim and grind. They we're having computer issues, everything going very slow, employees didn't look happy to be there. They raised price to $19 , even though advertised as $7-15, dont mind paying more if the actual service of trim and grind was done. I don't think it was on my dog. Took an hour to get walk-in done. Will not go there anymore. Service at this location has really went down hill:( read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I have a whole book I could write about the petsmart insurance and how they never have dental appointment available, the receptionist always says to call back within a month and when I did, it was once again booked and they didn't know when the new schedule would come out. Tried to get his vaccines in because they were almost due and my year was about to to expire with the insurance. 0 appointments and I was like 3 1/2 months out. What a waste of my money. Ended up taking him to vetco for vaccines and somewhere else for his dental cleaning paying over $1k even though I had insurance with PETSMART and should've had it done there. Don't waste your money people. One more thing. I had gotten his vaccines done at vetco last year in June. I got the insurance for him in October last year. I showed him his vaccines were up to date but they kept asking for a rabies certificate that I didn't have, but I had proof that he got the rabies vaccine. They ended up telling me that they would re vaccinate him knowing he had already been vaccinated that year. Come to find out, take him to get his vaccines updated at vetco and they tell me that petsmart should have never done that and it was bad for my dog. Either petsmart has no idea what they are doing or they just don't care and wanted money. Once again, don't get insurance here and don't bring your pet to their clinic. read more

I normally get my rabbit supplies from the local rescue here, but there are just some days where you don't have the extra time to go all the way up 20 miles or so to get rabbit food and litter for your wascally wabbit. So, after running an errand in the area, off to Petsmart it was! Upon entering, the employee at the cash register was very friendly and helpful. It was easy to find what I needed and the toddler loved seeing all the little critters in tanks, and dogs shopping with their humans here. Since it's Halloween time there are all sorts of adorable pet costumes for Fido to go trick or treating in. Check out was similarly easy. I do appreciate their rewards system where you can earn money back based on your total purchases. If I'm in the area needing pet supplies I'd go here again. read more

Had the best experience with the pet hotel and groomers ! We needed a sitter for our baby last minute. Went in to ask a few questions and they made me extremely comfortable with the idea and were so nice. Made his reservation and checked in with yet another GREAT person who answered more of my questions and cuddled our sweet boy. We called each day he was there and they knew exactly who we were talking about by his name each time . I will definitely be using they're services again! read more

Treat selection is still unsatisfactory. On this visit, they had lots of Halloween costumes and toys. The dog beds are all in the wrong slot so you don't know how much they are. As a matter of fact, all the pricing (shelf tags) for items are all over the place so it's unclear how much anything is. The cashier wasn't the most outgoing person in the world and he overstuffed our bag. I'd say the store needs some TLC. read more

Our dogs come home with a UTI every time they stay in the Pet Hotel because they were not being taken out often enough. We went to pick them up at 2:30 p.m. and were told they need to go out to potty because they haven't been out since 7 a.m. That was the last straw. They will no longer be coming here. read more

I can not say enough good things about my experience at the petsmart hotel here. The people working at the hotel are always so kind to my pups and treat them with love. I tried several at home pet sitters in Phoenix and finally gave up and sent my pups here. It has been a life saver many times. I also like all the different options with suites or regular rooms, treats and walks, play time. I always have them groomed before they come home which is really nice. I'm very happy with my experience having my dogs come here. read more

We take our pup to the South Tempe Petsmart once per week for doggie day camp. He seems to enjoy it a great deal and the staff, esp. Emma are very friendly, responsive and professional. He has spent the night at the pet hotel and things went quite smoothly. This particular location offers grooming and training as well and in addition there is a veterinarian on site. I have a 10-year-old terrier mix who was not really socialized to other dogs. As were booked a few summer vacations, I knew I needed to get him used to being around other pups. In store, I asked many, many questions about services and decided to have my dog attend daycare as much as possible. Having my pup attend day care here was a great decision. I was able to drop him off at 8:45 and pick him up at 2 p.m. for half-day care. I thought the price was more than reasonable and for his first day, it was half off. The staff is very busy but totally professional and kind when working with me. I know they will give me the allotted time I need when it's my turn. I added a treat for my pet and that was great. I loved that I got a report card for him each visit. Turns out my dog is more of a people dog, rather a dog-dog. He'd rather interact with the staff there than with other dogs. It's fine since he slept around the other dogs and didn't growl or bark at them, which is a big accomplishment. We recently took a trip and had our pup have overnights with an out-of-town dog sitter. He did great with the other dogs! Mission accomplished. Thank you to the team at PetSmart hotel for helping to get Buster where he needed to be socialization-wise. He'll be back to hang out with you all again soon! Oh, I'm greeted when I enter the store by the young man generally working the cash register in the morning. I like it! read more

Bryce, the trainer at this location, is amazing. I've been taking my pet to this location for the last year to be trained even though it's not the closest location to my house because of Bryce. My pup has been through puppy, intermediate and was in advanced but unfortunately fell ill at the end and unable to finish. Not only is Bryce an excellent dog trainer who will take time to help you with your pups unique needs but he is also super compassionate about the pets he is helping. After my pup fell ill I called to let him know he can't return to training. In today's service industry I just expected a thanks for letting us know, hope he gets better. That's not what we got from Bryce. He called to check in on my pup and offered all the support he could to the extent of doing things above and beyond his role at Petsmart. My dog falling ill was devastating to me as he is my best friend. Bryce understood that and made sure I felt supported even though he didn't need to. Thank you Bryce for being an amazing person and being compassionate, caring and attentive to those that you serve! read more

Do not bring your dog here for grooming. This location cannot handle the amount of grooming appointments they are getting. Had my 7 month old Australian shepherd for 5 hours. Said they called and left a message that he was ready. They did not. When I picked him up he immediately peed on the floor at the register. A lot of pee. Like, didn't get to go outside for 5 hours amount of pee. These people are nice but they are not efficient and your dog may pay the price for their incompetence. read more

I have two small dogs for the first time, I brought one of them to this location for grooming (they wouldn't take my other dog because her rabies shots expired five days prior). My appointment was at 12:30 and for some reason it took them 4 hours to get done with her. This tells me that they overbooked and put her in a cage for a long period of time. When I brought her home, she kept biting at her feet-front and back, and she kept jumping up every once in a while and spinning around and repositioning her self. I finally rolled her over and realized that five of her toenails were bleeding from being cut too short and they also cut her pee pee with the clippers. There was blood down there and I could tell that she was in pain. She was in pain for four days. And because of where they cut her, it hurt her to go to the bathroom. $57 later and a $12 tip on top of that. Tip: buy your own clippers and your own nail clippers and some dog shampoo!!! read more

We love this PetSmart and so does our English Bulldog. This is where we book him for grooming and this is where he enjoys playtime during Doggie Daycare. I just can't say enough nice things about the staff at the daycare center. Jennifer is pleasant, friendly and very helpful. She even remembers "Buck" from one visit to another. I have so many great things to say about this location... Customer service - I am always greeted and asked if I need help finding anything upon entering. I've had staff help me fit my dog for a collar, help me out boots on my squirming puppy, and recommend products based on what I was looking for. Day camp - this is my favorite part about this Petsmart. I have been bringing my dog here weekly for two months now. The staff is so friendly and kind. They greet my dog by his name and I LOVE the progress reports I receive upon picking him up. Several times I have talked directly to the staff about how my dog does and they are willing to take the time to talk. Their themed play dates are so fun. They give my dog ice cream and the emailed photos are my favorite! I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog in their hands. He's always tired from a day of playing! I purchased a VIP pass and it makes it easy to check out. Training - I did a six week beginner training class with Bryce. Several times before signing up for the class I would go to Petsmart and other customers would tell me about how satisfied they were with their training experience with Bryce. I was also able to talk directly to Bryce before signing up. He was kind, friendly, and willing to answer my questions! Due to personal reasons, our trainer was switch to a woman (who I unfortunately cannot remember her name...) for the last two weeks. She was also great! My dog learned so many new things and so did I! I am very happy that I took the time to do this class and I highly recommend it! They also offer personal training for those who may need extra attention. There are additional courses, such as the intermediate and advanced! read more

I went in by myself to get a collar and leash really quick for my moms new stray dog but unfortunately it was too small so I went in a 2nd time with the dog just to be safe. All the employees complimented how cute and well behaved my dog was since she was so quiet and calm. The same cashier I dealt with replaced the old leash and collar with the new one with no problem. The aisles were very clean and neat and they had plenty of variety for collars and leashes. We are regulars at this Petsmart location. We use Banfield, the Grooming Salon and Bryce, the Dog trainer for private sessions so we are here at least once a week. Haven't tried their Day camp or hotel yet but plan to at some point in the future. We've been coming here for years and have had great experiences with everyone. Particularly love Carrie at the grooming salon who is so caring and especially patient. Bryce is an awesome dog trainer and really knows what he's doing. read more

This location is money hungry and will charge you for anything. Even survives they do not provide. I've been taking my dog to be groomed at PetSmart for her entire life (6 yrs) and never experienced such grimy service. I took my dog to get her groom asked for a #5 blade shave, bath, and nail grinding. My dog is a mini German Shepherd and normally gets charged as miniature shepherd and nail grind. Today they decided to charge me for a sheep dog and top dog plus. Total they tried to charge me almost $30 more. And we're rude as hell when I questioned it. I asked the cashier what a top dog plus and he found out it's for nail grind, teeth cleaning, cologne, and ear cleaning. All I asked for was mail grinding and I normally pay $15 for that so he fixed that error and saved me $10 but I was still over charged for her hair cut and to top it off I didn't even get to see my dog before paying. They did not clean her genital area very well and she smells like she never had a bath at all.... Never going to this location again!!! Tempe Marketplace did well last time so maybe I'll go back there but avoid Elliott location if you want a good groom. $80 wasted to have to bathe her myself. Do not take your pet here! When I arrived it took minutes for anyone to greet me or check us in. I knew then this was not going to go well. After several minutes someone from the back says can I help you. Long story short I left my boxer there to get groomed against my better judgement. Brandi comes out didmy greet me, didnt greet my dog just stool her hand out for her to smell it. Every groomer I know tries to pet the dog, talk to them etc 10 minutes later here comes Brandy calling me to come pick her up cause she keeps "biting". My dog doesn't "bite" she knew Brandy's energy was off and didn't feel safe. Stick with real trained professional groomers not Petsmart 3 week fakes. read more

Does your store know how unbelievably rude it is to have a family of six in your store waiting 12-15 min (2 people over 70, 1 with Parkinson's) waiting for someone to help them out to buy a couple of friggin fish for the 4 and 5 year old grandchildren in tow who just want to be helped? You're under staffed? I get it. The senior staff lady 2 feet away can put aside her other duty and assist in fishing out a few fish while the girl in the green hair spends 15 min with one prior customer or call over a cashier who is doing nothing for 15 min. Wanted to provide an update to my review from 26 days ago...A week after Bo's kennel cough diagnosis he coughed while eating, causing him to aspirate his food. The vet put him on oxygen and once his breathing regulated he was monitored for the day. It was decided to treat him for pneumonia, as he ran the risk of developing it due to his kennel cough and from aspirating his food. He was in pretty tough shape the next few days, even refusing to lie down to rest or sleep. This past Saturday he finished his second antibiotic treatment and is seemingly doing much better. We are very thankful for the veterinarians' proactive treatment plans and diagnoses. After the first incident, I did contact Petsmart directly and was first told I would be reimbursed for my vet bills and then later, I would not be because I did not contact Petsmart PRIOR to Bo's initial vet appt and diagnosis. I did decide at that point to escalate the issue and spoke with a corporate representative. Since then, and as of this evening, I have been reimbursed the $975 I spent at his vet visits by Petsmart. Due to the reimbursement, which I very much appreciate, and the request of the Petsmart employee I spoke with, I am following through with editing/adding to my original review and increasing their rating to 2 stars. However, I maintain that I will never use their grooming, boarding, or doggie daycare services again. read more
