The curbside pick-up is a train wreck and has been for 2 years. Tried using the app for pick-up recetntly to see if that would help, but no. Checked in on the app and waited & waited. Ended up having to call. Prior visits would call for pick-up and no answer or no option to press for curbside pick-up or employee said would bring out and never showed. No wonder there are never any cars waiting for curbside. read more

All PetSmart locations in town have been very disappointing the last few months, in that they never have what I need, which is THEIR brand of food (Simply Nourish). This location especially sucks because on top of their lack of supplies, I can literally never find anyone on the floor to help me in any way. I'm always having to go up to the register for help, where there is always a huge line with one employee working it. I'm taking my business to Chewy. read more

Based on the fact this is now the second time , my dog left the grooming dept limping , I would not recommend taking your beloved pets here for grooming. I normally wouldn't take the time to leave a completely negative review , but in this case, where my animal was injured while in the care of the grooming department, i will take as much time as needed to prevent someone else from this ! Although the store manager, Gabi, tried her best to accommodate , the whole experience falls way short of even being normal. Yes, i took my dog back after the first time he hurt his paw while being groomed, under the understanding , he isn't normally in a kennel so he probably just hurt his paw in his own .... well the second time , which was yesterday , he came home unable to even put his right front paw on the ground without crying. No one seems to be aware of anything that happened of course and when I called the store to speak with someone I was asked to bring him back so the Banfield vet could take a look .... well , the vet tech , hope , rudely asked the store manager if they were planning to pick up the cost ?? Right in front of me !! Then proceeded to tell the manager "the best we can do is have him come back tomorrow "!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME !! To top it all off , I did in fact request my money back so I could use it towards an appt. with our actual Vet, Gabi politely obliged , only to let me know , the grooming dept (for my pets safety of course) would not be grooming him again!!! Ya, no shit !!! I would never put him through that again !! At least we can agree On that !!! Do not take your beloved furry friends here !!! read more

I enrolled my 3-month old shepard mix in the beginner level class where she successfully learned sit, stay, leave-it, drop-it, and more. She loves visiting every week, greeting her trainer, Eric, learning, eating treats, and having puppy play time. The friendly staff always greet my pup and remember her by name. Now she's 6-months and still excited to practice everything she learned in class. She'll definitely continue into intermediate level and beyond! read more

Do not recommend. Call to get our cat's nails clipped. I called on a Sunday and spoke to someone that wanted me to call back on Monday. I called Monday to make the appointment and was told the lady that cuts cats nails came in on Wednesday. On Wednesday I call and am told Thursday is cat day and no appointment is needed just bring her in. On Thursday we pack the cat drive the 20 minutes to get there and they say, for the first time, that they weren't taking any new clients. Thanks for not mentioning that all the times I called. Then I had to listen to the moron say he's sorry for any inconvenience. He should have said, "sorry for any inconvenience our ignorance's has caused. read more

Great service and product selection love petsmart they do their best even in these hard times

Young girl at the cash register wouldn't take my old $20 bill, because she'd "never seen one like that before". This was a bill prior to the 1998 redesign, but still very much in circulation. She gave me the skinny eyes and said she would have to ask if it was okay for her to accept it. I went ahead and just gave her one of those "real" twenties instead. LOL! read more

I want to preface by saying I NEVER give poor reviews. I'm an optimist and choose to see the best in places, so I don't take this rating lightly. I have taken my dog to daycamp twice now and both times I had a bad experience. The first time I brought my dog here and checked her into doggie daycamp, the workers really seemed unenthusiastic about working there, and didn't even take time to meet my dog, or make her feel welcome (since it was her first time around strangers & visiting a daycamp). They seemed to ignore her and just view her as "work" and took her to the back to play. Her "pawgress report" the first time here they said she was nervous and had a hard time engaging with the dogs. After that, I started taking my dog to the Petsmart Doggie Daycamp up north, in Roundrock. The workers there ALWAYS love on her right when she gets there and they always tell me they love having her in camp. She loves the dogs there and always does great, according to the workers. Today, roundrock was booked so I decided to give this petsmart another try. The lady did greet my dog and love on her, which made me feel better about checking her in. However, I got a call several hours later saying my dog attacked another dog and they were pulling her out of camp. My dog has NEVER had any issues before, so I felt shocked, though I figured sometimes animals can get agitated too, so I thought maybe my dog was just having a bad day. When I went to pick her up, the worker who checked me out didn't engage with me at all and when she asked her colleague to go get Lemon for me, the other lady responded by saying "I guess I'll try to get her but she didn't like me very much". I'm sorry, but I just think that is incredibly DISRESPECTFUL to say in front of a customer. If my dog was that bad, I feel like that lady should have let me know, but instead she said it to her colleague right in front of my face. As an employee, their primary responsibility should be working well with the customers and their pets. Even IF my dog didn't like her, she should have consulted her colleague in private and not in front of me. Now I kind of understand why my dog might have been acting out there, because all of the workers have a negative energy. Dogs feed off of others energies, so I strongly believe the reason my dog had a hard time today was because of the energy of that place. Anyway, I know dogs can misbehave sometimes so I'm not saying my dog is perfect, but I do know she's never had a single issue at any other daycamp (roundrock and Fort Worth both love her). So it's just strange to me that they don't seem to like her here or want here playing here. Anyway, like I said, I get that people can have bad days, and I'm not saying all the workers suck, but I do think the management here needs to do some SERIOUS reevaluating about who they hire, because I have felt uncomfortable every time there. If you want your dogs to have a good experience, I'd recommend taking them to the daycamp at the roundrock location. read more

I am never shopping at this location again. Denise was the rudest person to ever ring us up at a Petsmart location ever. She gave us such tone that I had to ask her if we had done something wrong. NEVER AGAIN! Avoid this location and the rudest staff possible. Had I not needed the items I came for, I would have left, trust me, it was that horrible. read more

So have you ever been on a date or hanging out with someone and you think, "you know, this person is alright?!" or even "Hey, I could end up liking this person!" .....buuut upon closer inspection...there is something that is juuuust a bit off?!! You know, like odor wise. I know that culturally, we Americanos are hung up on BO - hence there are a MILLION types and brands of deodorant, anti-perspirant, and deodorant+anti-perspirant available for your choosing. Well, this Petsmart is no different than that 'likeable' person.....and so even though this is my 'go-to' location for dog food - Man, lemme tell ya.....this location could SURE use some industrial strength deodorant - STAT!! They've got some fever in the funkhouse going on.... read more

We absolutely love the doggie day camp at Petsmart for our dog. Being a rescue, she can be very challenging, but the Petsmart team is very good to her and great to work with us to keep her happy there. She is certainly not nice to them at drop off and has a hard time warming up, but they are so sweet and dedicated to helping her come out of her shell. It can be a busy place, but every discussion I have had with the team or any conversation I have overheard has been incredibly respectful of the pets and the pet owners. I truly believe they love and are dedicated to the pets in their care. As a side note, they texted a picture of my dog to me when I was on a long vacation. It was a wonderful, lovely touch that made me certain she was in good hands. read more

We have been using this PetSmart location since moving to S. Austin nearly two years ago. Their grooming department isn't the best, but I have certainly seen much worse at other PS locations. My concern is with regard to one of their groomers named Devin. One day while waiting for my dog to get her nails clipped, I observed her smacking the snout of a scared little poodle, all the while seemingly oblivious to the line of customers observing her less than desirable behavior. Since all of our dogs have vet records on file there, and because we can request certain groomers, we continued having our pets groomed there while being careful to request that Devin NOT be allowed to groom any of our dogs. We dropped our two small dogs off Monday morning to be groomed (by Jessica, I believe) and after picking them up and bringing them home, we noticed they were both behaving very strangely. I dug through my bag to find the PS "report card" and saw right away that Devin was listed as one of the groomers. She had even written a note about our smaller poodle (5lbs soaking wet) being squirmy while having her legs trimmed. Needless to say, I was furious! Two days later and the dogs won't let us out of their sight. They haven't stopped shaking and seem almost depressed. It is heart breaking to watch. We won't be back to the Sunset Valley PetSmart location. Ever. read more

2 stars for a couple of reasons. First the grooming salon, which is atrociously unorganized and inconsistent. Then I had a bad experience with the pet hotel. I made a reservation, filled out the paperwork, and was told my dog needed to update his bordetella. I said I would get it done the very next day, would that be a problem since my dog would be staying there in a few days? Not a problem, they said. But when I went to take him for his stay, the snotty little girl at the counter told me he couldn't stay because he had just had his shot a couple of dats ago. Believe, she handled it very poorly and showed her inexperience at dealing with customers. The manager was apologetic for both her and the fact that they communicated wrong information during my initial visit. Considering I was due to leave for an out if town work trip, this was not welcome news. This location is the absolute closest to where I live, but I will no longer be going there. read more

I really like this PetSmart. We are greeted warmly each time we enter. Our vet, Dr. Reeser, is great... I do not like one of the other female vets and only stick to Dr. Reeser. She is a bit old school and we are a bit new agey, but we make it work. We also attend the advance doggie training classes and have found them to be very useful. They have a great policy welcoming you back to any class you have already paid for once. Our trainer Sarah is very patient and friendly. Our puppy loves doggie day camp. I love not feeling guilty when I need to leave for a few hours. She plays, plays, plays the whole time and comes home very happy. As you can tell, I use a lot of their services. I do not buy food or supplies from them as I prefer a raw diet and go to a pet boutique for this. read more

I swung by here while window shopping this past weekend and they had an adoption event. The animals were very loving and they had rescuers there to answer any question one might have had about the animals. The offer a variety of different foods for basically animal house animal you can imagine. They also offer grooming services with windows so you can see exactly how the animals are being treated. They had a non-clumping 40 pound bag of cat litter for 10 bucks! Pet's Mart actually has an adoption center itself as well. The one in this particular store housed cats, but sadly there was no one available to let me in to play with them. Gigantic joint with lots of product! read more

When I moved down to this part of town, I felt I was finally put to the test of pet stores. Not 500 yards away from this petsmart is a Petco. This causes some internal conflict as I grew up on Petco, but Petsmart has a stronger presence here in austin. So the first time I got impressed with Smart over Co is when I was looking for a harness for the little guy (if he could just stop chewing thru his when I'm not looking, that would be GREAT). Being the typical small dog owner (roll eyes here), I wanted a fancy little harness, not some bright blue or black standard thing. I'm not talking blinged out or anything, I mean this is a manly 10 lb dog, but just something with a little manly design. Co had nothing. We wandered over to Smart, and sure nuff, found one! The second time they sealed and delivered 5 star service to me was in the grooming department. I've been thru 3 failed attempt at getting a groomer in Austin that a) listens to my directions which PRETTY simple, and b) still made the pup look as handsome as ever. Well, mission accomplished. Theresa did a great job on my shih tsu/ maltese mix. The only minus 1/2 star is that she didnt shave his belly like they usually do or trim up his penne. But next time I go I shall request that and I'm sure it'll be taken care of. YAY PetSmart! You're taking petco down! read more

Their hotel/boarding service and my dog's stay was completely fine. They do, however, have a policy that larger dogs and "certain breeds" cannot play with the other dogs, only the human helpers and only if you purchase a play time. Why??? :( My dog is a mutt, a pitt mix, and the biggest lovebug you'll ever meet to dogs and humans alike. I will not take her back to the hotel to board her with this policy still in place. read more

Why oh why didn't I read the reviews before I came here? Shame on me - I should have known better. I recently moved to the Brodie/William Cannon area this past year from north Austin and the grooming of my two schnauzers was in a sad state of affairs and needed an appointment stat. For years, we had taken them to the PetSmart at Parmer/35 and were always happy with the grooming. I figured the one down south must be the same quality, right? Wrong! 1. Picked up our two dogs and when I went to pet them, my arms came back covered with hair. Looks like they were shaved, but never brushed afterwards. 2. Both dogs still smelled "dirty". It was odd. Usually when we picked them up from the north store, they smelled of coconut or whatever shampoo they used. This time around, they still smelled like dirt from playing outside. 3. The cut was awful! We get our schnauzers shaved all over to deal with the summer heat and keep the schnauzer face. I will say the face was done well, but their bodies were all raggedy. You could see thin, bald spots where they were shaved too close, next to big tuffs of hair that got missed. One dog literal had long, stringy hair under their front arms, like they didn't shave her armpits! When you spend $110++ on two dogs including tip, it's slightly frustrating to have to go home to rinse off all the excess hair, rub them done with soap-less shampoo to freshen them up and start researching new grooming spots asap. tldr; Don't get your dogs groomed here. read more

Since my dog recovered from her wounds we tried a couple different daycare centers. Neither worked out because they did not allow the dogs to play together unless you paid an extra dollar per minute of playtime. I decided to take her back to Petsmart to see how she would react to coming back to the place where she had gotten beat up. She was more reluctant to be led into the back than usual but once put in the play room with the others she settled back into her routine. Since then she's been going roughly once a week and seems to have forgotten about her past incident. I was glad that a manager contacted me by phone after we brought my dog back for the first time, thanking me for giving them another chance. I like that they give me feedback on how her day went and how she got along with the other dogs. Even if it's something negative (which so far nothing has been) I want to know so that I can work with her on it. I know she's not an angel so I'm not offended if she needs to improve her manners. I will most likely continue to bring her here because they do offer the group interaction time that she needs. The whole point of going to school for her is not just to have someone to take her out to potty while I'm at work but to have physical exercise and socialization with other good tempered doggies. read more

Not my regular store, but it was closest at the time. On arrival, made a bee line for fish. Many cloudy tanks and ich in the butterfly koi, but I saw one that was lively and lovely, so we opted to get a separate tank and ich guard, few other things. Waited ten minutes by fish before an employee came close enough to be waved down. Employee glances at watch, as it's getting near close time. Agrees to help but I guess it had been a long day and they were tired?? Slowly pulls over stool and equipment, and once the bag is filled and the partner picking up ich guard/tank/etc comes over, employee proceeds to explain how getting a new tank set up for the fish will kill it. Proud of myself for not replying with how the ich and dirty tanks were more likely to kill it, but whatever. I tell them fine, never mind, and employee says "Well you can TRY it..." Look. Came in to get a fish and get out of your hair. Was actually getting MORE than intended because the fish were sick. Went unhelped and then chastised for trying to take safe measures. Saw police at the front with someone when we finished putting back all the stuff we were getting. So store's not safe, fish are ill, employees uninterested in helping customers, and I saw less than a quarter of the store. No thanks. Will redirect to my usual Petco in the future. read more

Huge fan of the Doggy Day Camp and Hotel. I wanted to give this location 3 stars because I thought it was a happy medium as the Grooming Salon is POOP. Such POOP. BUT I just love the staff at the Day Camp. They are so nice. They treat my dog like an angel. He loves going to camp. He comes home afterwards tired from a great day. They always tell me how he did, who he played with, and gush over how sweet he is. They know his personality - they care. Even when we move farther south I will be driving to this location for camp on the way to work. Now the salon. POOP. I do not even think they brush your dog. I paid for the extra brushing and the Furminator. I was early to pick him up so I sat on the bench outside and watched them. They brushed him - a swipe here, a swipe there. The Furminator was a joke. They went over him once. I have a Furminator, but I was lazy that day. You cannot tell me for an extra $10 - $20 that once over is worth that price All in all they brushed him for 5 MINUTES. A joke. Oh and his nails were supposed to be grinded. Doubtful. Go for the Camp - DO NOT GO FOR THE SALON. JUST POOP. read more

This review is specially for the Pet Hotel. I'm very happy with the baths my dog gets at the salon and we will be using the Banfield location as our vet. Again, this review is specifically for the Pet Hotel. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and somewhat upset. I made the appointment online for my dog to stay for one night (Saturday night). They're a little more expensive than the private kennel that we've used, but we needed a place close by. When we dropped him off, we requested to see where he was staying. Instead of showing us his spot, we were shown to a window where all we could see were a line of cages -- we couldn't even see our dog. We were then told that the pets were not taken outside at all and that since we decided not to mix our dog with other dogs, he would get a short walk to do his business. When I came to pick him up the next day, I was charged an additional $16 for "extended stay". I asked about it and they told me that if you don't pick up the pet before noon, you get charged extra. This was not communicated to us at drop off nor was this mentioned during the online reservation. The only thing mentioned on the website was that if you wanted to pick up your dog later than the hours allowed, you would be charged a fee. I picked my dog up about an hour earlier than my scheduled 6pm time. To add to everything, my dog has black gunk coming off of him. He will be given a bath immediately. I will still visit this location for our bath needs and hope that the vet visits go well. But I will never board my dog at the Pet Hotel, nor will I recommend them at all. read more

If you ever complain or make a comment on the quality of service, the next time you go, they'll deny service!!! This just happened to me. I took my Poodle to get showered and a haircut for the summer, as we had been swimming, she was smelling pretty bad. The groomer, cut her hair and had her looking good on the hair part but Lola still stunk and looked yellowish... I knew she hadn't been bathed.. I pointed it out, and the groomer, upset, asked me to leave her there to get "re bathed" which yeah.. my time is all yours buddy... I said no, and in a dismissive way sort of "shut up" kind of way, didn't charge me. A few months later, I try and book an appointment to the same service, giving the benefit of the doubt! That maybe the groomer that day was not giving his all, etc... well... I've been denied service. Don't go here.. they are rude, and play with your time. read more

Great store, nice employees, decent stock, overall this is a fine place to get pet supplies. The dog trainers are extremely nice, and knowledgeable. They were patient with my dog and helped him learn some manners. the reason i subtract two stars is because I have been in there a number of times and notice dog pee on the floor. this wouldn't sound so bad, but there were times when I would take a 1 hour training class and by the end it still would not be cleaned up. Even though that circumstance is a rarity, it should never have been left there for an hour. If that is how they treat the retail floor, how do they treat the rest of the store? read more

Decent. Nothing stands out. Employees are nice when you ask for help, but don't go out of their way to help. Always look online for dog food coupons before going here, I save $5-8 every time. That adds up when you have a 100lb velociraptor errr I mean Labrador to feed. read more

This used to be one of my favorite pet stores for basic daily needs. I've usually found their fish selection to be decent with pretty good prices. However, today my experience was so unacceptable that I will not return. Hello to Petco for my next fish flake purchase. After a fairly long wait to get any service in the fish department- I needed an algae eater to replace the one that went on a journey to the other side after many years diligently cleaning my tank - Meredith showed up and asked if I needed help. I told her that I wanted a Chinese algae eater. She told me that it could only go into a tank that is at least 20 gallons and recommended a snail. What a dumb little twit to tell me that I can't spend my money on what I want as a replacement for my old Chinese algae eater that lived for so many years in my smaller than 20 gal. tank. read more

I was in a mad dash to find someplace for my dog while I was out of town. A friend of mine used to work here suggested it. I dropped my dog off Friday morning as I was leaving to go out of town. I had kinda hesitated because I was not sure how my dog would do there. It take take her a little to warm up to new things. I picked up Sunday evening and she was worn out. The extra play time allowed her to get that energy out. We crate train our dog and she did not even move the whole night. I went to let her out and feed her and she was still sacked out. My brother says what they charge is pretty much the going rate for boarding your dog. I did not think it was bad at all. I will definitely be bringing her back when I go out of town again. read more

Overall the store is okay (not sure about the services), but the customer service is definitely lacking. During my last visit, the store was packed and I had to walk around for about 10 minutes before even finding someone to help in the store. There was one cashier who was very busy, but the rest of the store (outside the service areas) was not staffed. The service areas had multiple people not doing anything, but apparently they are separate from the store and went out of their way to not interact with anyone. Perhaps employees could be trained to help people in other areas or at least ask if they needed help and perhaps even find the appropriate help, especially when they are not doing anything other than standing around talking to each other. read more

DON'T GROOM HERE. So if you actually want to get what you pay for I would not go for a dog groom here. When dropping off our puppy we were excited for her to get her first hair cut, when picking her up she looked the exact same way as when we had dropped her off. My husband paid 34 dollars for a nail clip which seemed like the only thing they actually did. He asked to speak to a manager and the manager told him that their store policy was no refund on haircuts, which our dog DID NOT get. They also claimed to have cleaned her ears out which also did not happen We were told she didn't receive a haircut because she was moving too much, took her to a different pet groomer and they had no issue with her what so ever, or maybe they actually knew how to do their job. read more

When my two overlords demand their kibble, treats, and a clean toilet, I head on down to Petsmart on Brodie. When I take up mutiny against my overlords and take them with me in the store, I take them to the Banfield vet to be physically humiliated with thermometers and- in a one time instance, took one of the dark lords to the nether-regions guillotine. The wonderful land of Petsmart is plentiful and abundant. Here, we find the food our lords demand- the one we cannot find anywhere else in the giant-bag size (Purina One Indoor Advantage) and the litter they need for their royal thronerooms. The land of Petsmart also has a free perks program where you can aquire these items and more at a discounted rate on some days when the moon is full. There is also a series of holding cells for other overlords, should we wish to take one home from the realm of Paws of Kyle. The overseer is always friendly and knowledgable. The overlords are always of the fuzzy and cute variety with many personalities to choose from. Every time I leave, I always think about getting a 3rd overlord to share the dominion. Overall, the land of Petsmart is fruitful and at a decent rate. The wenches and basnicks always provide excellent service to other minions like myself. I shall return again and again as long as my overlords allow me to do so. read more

Review for Pet Hotel: I donated my kidney in June so I had to take my dog here several times when I had to drive back and forth to Houston for the testing.. then my dog (Kona) stayed here for 2 weeks for my surgery. Point is... I keep going back because the service is great. Staff: Very friendly every time I am on the phone or in person. They explain the different services and options available and work with you if you aren't sure when you are dropping off or picking up exactly. For example, my boyfriend was hospitalized Tuesday- Ive called and changed or cancelled things at least 3-4 times this week and they were so polite each time and were very understanding. Every time I walk in with Kona, they say "hi Kona!" before I can even tell them who my dog is. It's nice knowing they know which dog is which. Hotel: Clean, no messes on the floor and no strong pet odors. They clean the kennels as soon as your pet makes a mess so no need to worry about that. They give you a report card at the end of your stay and you can call to check on your pet whenever you want. Cost: My friend went to a different boarding place that was cheaper, but she said the experience was horrible so to me- paying a little extra is worth it to make sure my fur baby is getting taken care of. Food is included in the price and 2 walks. Usually you have to pick up your pet by noon the day you set up to get them but you can either add an extended stay which I think is half the cost of a full day.. or you can add a service. So I always do the exit bath and nail trim which is a little cheaper doing it that way- plus you get it all done in one visit! Or you can put them in day camp where they play with other dogs. Overall: I have been a loyal pet hotel customer since January (when I got my dog) and I will continue to use this place because I have yet to have a bad experience. read more

Staff here is pretty friendly. I've overheard a few them talking to customers and I'm pretty sure they don't have much knowledge of what they're talking about... so do your research with your vet, trainer, internet, whatever, before relying on the staff to answer complicated questions. PetSmart - Orlando has once again done an amazing job on my little Bear's hair cut! - Pet Stores Near Me - Sunset Valley, Texas

Let me first preface this by saying I am not a yelper and this is actually the first review I've ever posted. But this petsmart was so great I really felt compelled to offer some positive feedback. I came in with my puppy Charlie to get her nails trimmed. I checked in with the groomers and got signed up real easily, the lady at the front desk entered my information and it only took a minute. There was one person in front of me, so I ended up waiting in the room around 5 minutes. While I was in the waiting room all the staff said hi to Charlie and complimented her which was really nice and put me at ease. I had warned at least 3 of the employees that she really doesn't like getting her nails trimmed and it may be a bit of a dilemma. They all assured me it was going to be okay and they'd get extra help if necessary. Finally the groomer takes Charlie to the back. Within another 5 minutes she comes back and immediately tells me how well behaved Charlie was and that she didn't have any trouble at all. I was so relieved I couldn't believe it. The groomer, whose name escapes me, was amazing and I'll be requesting her in the future FOR SURE. Oh, and she gave Charlie and adorable pineapple bandana and a cute pineapple keychain. My girlfriend LOVES it. I take the invoice and go up to check out at the register. The cashier compliments Charlie and gives her a treat and a little much needed attention. The total was $10, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes and every single interaction I had with their staff was great. Y'all are excellent! My dog means the world to me and you took great care of her. I will be visiting here again in the near future. read more

Wow , did I enter the wrong demension of Sunset Valley ?? Maybe everyone is afraid that the S.V. P.D. will pull them over for telling the truth !! Every time I enter this store , it's just a very unpleasent experience... There is a Small and Furry section that emits a smell of animal waste , that will emits as soon as you walk into the store. I'll stop by every month or so , and it's been like this for the PAST 6 months !! It was about 9:30 and the lights hadn't even been turned on , some of the aisles were hard to navigate. Previous times i've gone into the store , it's been like i was a ghost ; as i would always have to go to the front desk to ask for assistance. I'll always see people who walk in directly behind me , being asked if they would like any help. To think i was going to spend $40 on a book on raising a K9 here , shame on me.... They should close this place down , it's as if no one cares to work there. read more

Today was an exceptionally good day for service at the Pet Smart. Brought the dogs in to get weighed, as per Doc's instructions. Our attendant, who was previously an issue, was happy to oblige and record the good news for me. From there, I needed dog food, and with 180 lbs of dog under my feet, picking up and hauling a 50lb. bag of Bil Jac was not looking too favorable. Luckily, a sales associate saw me there, said hello, and was happy to get the food, bring it up to the cashier for me, and haul it out to the car. Even the $5 tip I offered was not in the cards. He could 'not accept it, but thanks." A good day. read more

Found the best prices (or at least the same as PetCo) on hay, Aspen, and Carefresh bedding here for my guinea pigs. Wooden chew toys were on sale and you get a discount if you sign up for their club. It's a big store but the sections are clearly labeled and checkout is pretty quick. What else can I say? read more

My 10 month old adopted puppy, Francie, just graduated from the basic obedience course with flying colors. We had a great time taking Francie here for classes from the instructor, Alyssa. Alyssa is very good with the dogs and helped each one of them in the way that they needed. Each dog was different and she seemed to understand that. After 6 weeks Francie went from not even knowing a basic sit to knowing sit, down, stay, come when called, walking like a good kid on a leash and we're still working on shake. ;) For the price, compared to other options in South Austin, this really can't be beat. We also shop at the store from time to time and it's fine - plenty of options to choose from. There is quite a bit of pee on the floor but that has to come with the territory when you allow owners to bring their pets and they don't clean up after them (despite there being plenty of bags and paper towels on the aisles to do so!). Finally, Francie was groomed here this past weekend and they did a great job. I was surprised how long they needed (3-4 hours) but she seemed to have an OK time there and came out smelling and looking great with some cute bows in her hair. Again, great value for the price. read more

The staff here was extra friendly and helpful which is the main reason I am writing this review. An employee who CLEARLY was about to clock out on break or to go home, noticed me lost. She didn't just point me in the right direction, she took the time to walk with me and my puppy to the correct spot and make sure that I found exactly what I needed. I know that's "her job," but the fact that she took extra time to help me find what I needed -when on break/going home- speaks highly about the quality retail employees they have at this store. (This is coming from a retail employee.) That kind of customer service is easy to look over, but definitely makes a difference to the fact that I want to go back to PetSmart vs the Petco that is closer to me. Also there was a technical issue when I was checking out, but the cashier was calm and collected through the transaction. A groomer told me how they saw my puppy in the store and hoped they would get to groom him because he's so cute, when I was leaving. This made me happy and I will probably get Dante groomed here soon! read more
