Came in to Petco to look at all of the animals between appointments. All of the animals appeared to be well cared for and in good health. There is a larger selection of fish here than I have seen at other pet stores recently. They have fish available from a few cents up to $35+. They have a cat adoption area, and there were four cats available for adoption when I stopped in. They were either asleep or being petted by someone else. I was in the store about 25 minutes. I was asked by 5 different employees if I was OK or needed any help. I think that's a record for how many times I've been approached in one store for service. Good job. read more

I'll start by saying this place is very convenient as far as location and parking goes. This review is strictly for salon services. I would give them a full 5 stars if they were a little more professional. Refused to help me as I explained the cut I wanted for my schnauzer. Wanted me to wait for my stylist since they had already helped all her other clients. On a positive note, I believe it's Mandy that usually cuts our schnauzer and she does a great job. On two other occasions someone else cut him and actually cut him. We always make our appts ahead of time because her schedule does fill up. I'll be blunt and start off by saying that I'll never bring my dog here ever again. I dropped him off at 5 in the afternoon and they told me to come back at 8 to come get him. I arrive at 8 and they just start cutting his hair. This place is ridiculous and complete shit when it comes to time management. My dog was probably sitting in a kennel for 3 hours doing nothing when he could've been at home with access to the proper food, water, and going out to do his business. I don't even want to come here to buy their food and I definitely will not bring any of my other dogs here to be taken care of the groomers or Banfield. This place should be ashamed of themselves. They don't deserve to have a grooming department if his is how they serve their customers. read more

I showed multiple emails from my vet, purchases of subcutaneous fluids that I'm giving my cat FOR HER FAILING KIDNEYS but the overly blue eyeshadowed Karen said they won't sell me the food my vet said my cat needs to survive, because they didn't fill out the right paperwork. If the previous reviews on the grooming here aren't enough to steer you clear of this store, then the grooming employee, CARLA, who HIT a dog YESTERDAY in the store should be reason enough!!!! Yes, most of the staff are animal lovers and helpful, but the management is rude, items are always out of stock, and they keep expired items on the shelves. The Banfield vets kept telling me my dog had food allergies, and after studying ALL the foods at PetSmart, I have only found the good quality stuff elsewhere, like Pet Pros. And in the end, it turns out the allergies are due to the flea drops they kept pushing on me. From my experience, you are better off spending a few extra dollars at high quality stores than to subject yourself to this place. read more

Good prices on dog grooming and care. Better than Petco. We usually get someone nice, like Ashley. Now here's the caveat: called to make another grooming appt. Gal said if we made our appt AFTER 5:00 pm we would get a 25% off the regular fee. So we agreed. Upon picking up our dog, we were charged full price. When I asked where was the discount we were offered they said " No. That's only on Monday through Thursday. ( Our appt was on Saturday). So these gals are pretty incompetent about their policies. Also as I dropped off our dog, one groomer had a dog on the table whose ears were sensitive. She was digging into his ears and the poor dog was crying in pain. Know what she did? She kept yanking on the leash and yelling at the dog to behave as she continued to hurt him. Omg. I should've told the manager but I'm sure it wouldn't make a difference. read more

What a disappointment! My boyfriend and I recently adopted a rescue pup from Taiwan and took him to the Landing location for some supplies. The store itself is pretty nice; fairly large and well kept. However, the staff is ridiculous. No one greeted us, no one asked if they could help us find anything, and no one seemed to care to even be there. I had read online that if we purchased a K9 advantix flea and tick treatment that we could get it applied for us along with a nail grind at their groomers which would have been perfect since my fur baby's nails are quite long and sharp. We made our way back to the grooming location and asked about said service. The 12 year old looking girl behind the counter looked at us like we were stupid then proceeded to tell us to purchase the treatment and apply it ourselves. Thanks for doing your job kid. We left the groomers pretty disappointed and made our way blindly down the aisles. We passed a few employees who still didn't bother to ask if we needed assistance, and found what we needed ourselves. All in all this was a terrible experience. The staff here is BELOW mediocre. Unfriendly, unhelpful and uncaring. We will never return to this location. I would rather travel a farther distance to a place that actually gives a damn about people and their pets. read more

For a chain, it's a great place. Customer service is always on par and stock is always maintained nicely. I always go here for my pet treats and those sticky pet rollers that pick up cat hair. These guys sell both for cheap. I have to buy expensive food for my picky cats, otherwise I would buy food from them as well. I used to buy IAMS from them before I was told my cat was obese. :-| I love/hate to look at the cats. I want to bring them home with me. They are so cute it kills me. I appreciate them for having the cats there and having an adoption program. Cats need good homes. Especially the cats that they have. It's great that they do that. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. The manager of this location, Doug, is a real piece of work. He is rude, disconnected, and careless. I scheduled an appointment for my two pups to be groomed; disclosing I had a coupon I'd like to use for both. "No problem! See you on this day at this time!" I came to pick up my little ones with the already mentioned coupon to find out that they aren't capable of accepting them in electronic form. I was expected to print it off (not noted on the coupon). I asked to speak with a manager that, I assumed, could understand my confusion. This manager didn't. He told me, after a lengthy lecture, that he would accept the coupon for one pet and I should feel lucky. I was appalled by his lack of customer service. There is more detail to this story I could disclose but the bottom line is; if you ever have an issue, don't complain because you won't get anyone that's understanding, kind, or receptive. It's Petsmart. So...it's big, well stocked, full of people and their pets. My dog is on a special Rx diet and Petsmart for one carries it in a GIANT size and for 2 relatively cheap (cheaper than going to a vet or feed store. Shiny). Im usually just in and out when I go here, but I have never had any issues with employees or product. Their return policy is pretty great too -- even on food and snacks. Can be open & used but if you aren't happy they will let you exchange it for something else which is always a nice thing (especially if your dog is a picky-assed eater like mine is). read more

Large store, easy to find at the Renton Landing next to Staples and Target. Always very clean inside and well stocked. Never have an issue finding the products I need. Cute stuff for the holidays, such as themed treats, toys and outfits for your furry friends. They have a large aquarium area with a good selection of fish. They also have reptiles and small little things like hamsters and ferrets (haha I'm blanking on what they are called, so lets just go with small little things!) They offer cat adoptions, dog training, and puppy playtime. I have also seen dog adoptions on some weekends. They have a Banfield Veterinarian Clinic in store too - expensive though so beware! I've also heard some locations have a pet hotel, but this one does not. The staff...meh. I've never really had good experiences with their staff. Over the last year I've tried multiple times to make an appointment for my dogs to get groomed, but there were never any openings it seemed. Tonight was a good example of how I usually experience their customer service. I walked into the store, there were 3 customers with dogs to the right along with one employee, one cashier checking someone out to the left, and two girl employees standing 20 feet from the door chatting. Walked right by them and smiled at them; neither even bothered to look at me or say "hi how are you? can we help you find anything?" Went and found the dog food I needed, another employee walks by me down the aisle and no communication whatsoever. Went to pay for the food, cashier didn't say one word to me other than "oh, you get a coupon" as I'm already walking away. No thank you, keep it. Basically, a good store to come to if you don't want to have any employee interaction and know exactly what you need with no questions. I've gotten my long-haired dachshund groomed here twice and was impressed with price and service. Both times he was ready within two hours and I appreciated the heads-up call so I could be on my way to pick him up. The last time I was especially in a time-crunch and asked the groomer if he could be ready in a shorter time frame. She didn't promise anything but in less than 1.5 hours she called to let me know he'll be ready in 15 minutes. I'd suggest calling a week ahead if you want a weekend appointment. read more

I go here occasionally to pick up general items for my fish tank. Usually only to hold me over until an online order can make it to me. Recently I had bought a Gorami, just to see how it would work in my tank. Knowing that I had 15 days to return it if it had not worked out, I thought "why not give it a try?" So I did. Later that night when it was clear he was just going to bully everyone in my tank, I brought it back. The lady unfortunately made me feel pretty bad. I felt as if she treated me like I had never done this before, and I must be a novice. Left a bad taste in my mouth. The groom job was very good and my dog usually hates it, but he was fine with this one, considering that I was not able to pick him up for a few hours after he was done. I'm so irritated I brought 4 year old daughter here 2 days ago after a week of her being traumatized after "Bum Shuffle " her male betta died , that we also bought from here as well that only lived a month. So we got a new 5 gallon tank with everything included and 2 guppies for them to die within 2 days. I show up today trying to replace them before my daughter notices. After standing around the fish tanks for about 15 mins I ask the cashier if I can get help with some fish. The associate comes out and says we are not selling any fish the water needs to be changed in all the tanks, sorry the cashier didn't tell you. I explained to her I was just here and I bought 2 guppies and they have already died and I need to replace them with the same colors before my 4 year old notices. She says sorry and says we got a bad shipment this time , I wouldn't be surprised if there died . She doesn't even offer to give me my money back or anything, she just recommends me to another pet smart . So inconvenient and careless we won't be back to another pet smart unfortunately! read more

Petsmart Grooming We have been going to Petsmart in Renton at the Landing for about 4 years. We've had some really great groomers but honestly, today was off the chart for a very conscientious, personable groomer. Martha came out to greet our long haired German Shepherd. She got down to Jetta's level and started to evaluate what she needed to do. She talked about clipping between her paws and then mentioned she would like to do some "personal" grooming around areas that are sensitive but can sometimes be a problem. She was just amazing and by the time she finished petting our dog and evaluating, Jetta was happy to follow Martha to start her "spa day." What a great employee. Again, we have had many great groomers at this PetSmart but Martha just shines out! Love our PetSmart at the Landing.....well run and again, great groomers! read more

If I could give PetSmart grooming 0 out of 5 stars I would. I have taken my dog to the grooming department many times, hoping it would get better, but it has gotten worse. One time they gouged my dog four times and when i mentioned it while I was paying they blew me off. They didn't say sorry or even offer a small discount. Another time they told me to pick her up in two hours, when I went back they rudely said to come back in another hour and a half since they were behind. Still no apology. The final straw was when I had an appointment scheduled, I showed up and they said the groomer called in sick and they had a note that they had contacted me about this. They NEVER called me or left a message. I know they have my correct number because they called the night before to confirm the appointment. I guess I gave them too many chances, their "grooming" was never that great to be nice, and the employees are even worse. I will never go back and will tell everyone not to go there. read more

My expectations have been exceeded in every way. Rating: 8 out of 5, the best retail experience I have ever had!!! The staff have fun, love their jobs and our pets which makes it a fun place to be. They are helpful respectful and kind which makes it a great place to shop. Krissy our puppy trainer and Scott our vet both shines as the essence of this spirit. The staff always greets us with a warm smile and a cheerful hello and at least half of the staff greets our dog Stormy by name. Avoid the middle aged male manager he is the only person there we have had a negative experience with. He tried to use scare tactics to get us to switch to a more expensive dog food telling us we were killing our dog with puppy chow. NOT COOL Everyone else there far exceeds expectations!!! Between their training classes, the Banfield veterinary clinic, and general provisions we walk in the door once or twice per week and the staff at PetSmart and Banfield have won a special place in our hearts. If you are going to do training, ask for Krissy's class she is amazing and you will have a blast! Banfield is the in house veterinary clinic. Their care plans will give you peace of mind predictable finances, and they are reasonably priced too, but that isnt the best part. The staff are all genuinely kind compassionate and happy people. Dr. Scott, Amanda, and everyone else there have far exceded exceeded expectations. read more

Worst experience in my entire life! We took our puppy over there not too long ago. I have never seen my dog as ugly as he left in his entire life! Staff and the manager of the salon are extremely rude to customers! They are unprofessional and just do not care about their job! Not to mention all of them spend more time on their phones vs actually taking care of the pets and listening to clients. They even tried to blame us for their poor service. We have a cat that wears a harness and goes out on a leash so we took him to PetSmart last night. Everyone wanted to come and pet him, he was the belle of the ball. He really enjoyed looking at the hamsters and parakeets. Yummy! We were able to get a gigantic bag of kibble, treats, a new toy and a simple name tag engraved in the machine all for about 20 bucks. Having the Pet Perks card helps. The place is kept really clean, everyone was very friendly and helpful and there was a huge selection of cat items with good prices. read more

I love coming here to look at their fish. I've bought several Betta fish here and find new items for their tanks. I like coming her when they have the pet adoption events. I always fall in love with the puppies that have been rescued from the puppy mills. If I had a place big enough, I would definitely adopt one of the pups. read more

I've always shopped this Petsmart location for dog food, but was very disappointed today. I noticed awhile ago that my dog's food was on sale and marked "reduced to clear". I was naturally suspicious, so I asked the cashier what that meant. He assured me that if a food is being discontinued, there's a special sign that says so; it was probably just overstocked. I went back today for more food since I have only about a scoop left, and low and behold - my brand is all but GONE! Turns out they were getting rid of it after all. I am very disappointed that the employees were unaware of the meaning of the signage in the store. Customers trust the employees to have more insight about signs that some person off of the street, but apparently this isn't the case. Now, I'm writing this review as I sit on hold with every pet store in the area trying to find the food when I could have undertaken the gradual task of switching my dog to a new food weeks ago. =( read more

I love Pet Smart. They are so into animals there. Anytime I go there to buy something for my kittens, they ask about them... and they really want to hear what I have to say! I also adopted my two kittens from the Banfield adoption/vet center there. That wasn't quite as smooth, because the kittens were very sick with worms and stomach issues (I only found out that later). Once we got them healthy, they became the joy of our lives. So, although I wasn't thrilled to find out the kittens who were supposed to be de-wormed were not healthy as they could be, I still appreciate the fact that they save kittens and help get them loving and caring homes. (Our kittens were saved from a home with 30 cats!) read more

I have come to this location on occasion when my local store doesn't have what I'm looking for, but my last time was the final straw. I went in to look at aquatic frogs after being told over the phone they were $3 each. I go in to find they are $5, not 3. Not a huge deal, but annoying nonetheless. The employee cleaning tanks told me to let her know when I was ready, so I thanked her and continued browsing. After about five minutes deciding which frogs I wanted, I look around to ask her for help. She's gone. I go up to the register to find her hanging out with the cashier, texting. I ask for help with the frogs and am told someone will meet me there. I figure perhaps the other girl was on break and head back to the aquarium section to wait. Ten minutes pass. Other customers looking to purchase fish are also waiting and no one has come to help. I go back to the cash register to find out what's going on to find not one, not two, but FIVE EMPLOYEES standing around. Thoroughly irritated at this point, I go up and ask for help again, to be told once more that someone will be there in a minute. I let them know I was no longer interested and went to Petco up the hill where I happily purchased 3 frogs and 4 corydora catfish for my aquariums. ***BEWARE*** -They completely do NOT listen! They specifically asked me if a "Student" (Academy) could do my dogs & I said, no. Apparently, they still went ahead & did so. Unreal & charged me the same. - - Employees literally lie & say they are managers, when they are not (EX: Petra, was one of 5). - They had several accounts for me & made a huge deal, blaming me. - They had my dogs for 6+ hrs. with NO phone call @ all to me. When they finally did call, they called a random wrong # and didn't even look @ paperwork, from when I dropped off my dogs. - I (& even my friends), literally didn't even recognize one of my dogs because it's like they butchered them, which is the the first time ever & I was coming here, for a while. - One of the dogs smelled SO awful, when I picked him up as if he had poop everywhere. So sick. I had to bathe him twice, when home. - Another scary thing is that NO Manager OR Corporate cared. & because I was so mad with all they did, they literally banned me from all PetSmarts, for a year instead of solving the problem! They even held my dog & threatened not to give him back. - When asked to see my Contract they refused, saying it was confidential. They literally would not give or show it to me, so obviously they were hiding something!! read more

The staff here is friendly, though they got a little sales-y on our last visit, but I can ignore that. I come here for my dog's food, treats and supplies and have used their grooming service twice - and that's where the three stars come in. The first time they did a fine job, no complaints but no raves. They were friendly and quick and my dog was happy when I picked him up. The second time, the groomer completely jacked up my dog's look! The groomer was Ronald and I don't know if he's just really new or not familiar with how a Scottie dog's face should be cut, but he failed. He left the top of his head and ears fluffy (a good 1/2 inch long), totally didn't cut his bangs straight, or short enough, and trimmed his beard to something you'd see on a puppy, and even that had long and uneven pieces. This was totally disappointing and will have me on the hunt for a new grooming option. it just wasn't cool and now my dog looks goofy! Good thing it goes with her personality but not worth the $60 I paid (I pay extra to have them dremel his nails instead of clip - not sure it's worth $20 but it keeps the dog calmer). read more
