This message is for everyone that's thinking of bringing your animal here. This past January we brought our beloved Tasha here to get her monthly grooming. Monica has been grooming her since she's been a baby and never had a problem until this last time. When we picked her up, we noticed she wasn't breathing correctly. Later that night I called left a message asking if something happened to her. They never called me back. Ended up taking her to the veterinary hospital to find out her throat was compromised while getting groomed. The vet said they see this a lot when people take there dogs to the groomers We ended up having to send our little girl to heave way way to early So this is a WARNING to everyone that's thinking of bringing your animals here. Your pet might be next!!!!! The only time we got a call was when I posted my last comment a month later. I ended up closing down my old account. So I'm reposting what happed for all to hear FYI- Monica's husband has a bad temper! Read all of his nasty comments back to peoples complaints on Yelp. Fuzzy Friends is near my house so I thought I would give it a try. The results were not to pleasing despite all the positive yelp review. The haircut was choppy but I didn't really care since it's just hair and in a few weeks time, it'll grow to look more natural. His coat was soft and it smelled good so I was happy about that. She explained that it was a bit hard to do his nails and that she did the best she could, which.. Okay.. I guess I understand. The price was not all that great. My Pomeranian who is ten pound with a mane of hair can get fully groomed for sixty dollars while my three pound thin haired Yorkie is fifty dollars at Fuzzy Friends. Obviously, there are better deals out there. The most outrageous thing of all, that really had me upset was that they CUT MY BABY!! When I got him home, I noticed that he was constantly licking his inner thigh so I took a look and there's a red angry cut! The groomers didn't even say anything to me about it! It's understandable that accidents happen.. But he must've yelped or jerked away when he was being nicked by the scissors so they had to have known they cut him. They could've said something when I picked him up but I had to find out about it when I got home. If they would've notified me about it and apologize, I wouldn't be this angry. Accidents happen, own up to it! He's my baby, I would like to know that he's hurt so I can provide care to avoid an infection. However, I got nothing. How outrageous.. I love this place. Monica recognizes my voice when I call, knows me and my dogs by name, and treats our dogs well. They also come back dapper af every time. I feel for those who have had difficult experiences here, but I've had great experiences every time. Even our neurotic little terrier/chihuahua mix (wife's dog) seems at ease there. One time there was even some sort of dog photo shoot, and Monica gave us some hilarious pics of our dogs. I love this place! My dog Summit has been going to see Monica for the last 6 months for doggy day care. They care so much about my baby and she adores seeing all of her playmates. There are some days when Summit pounces on the door and tries to push it open just so she can greet Monica quicker. The only experience I have with grooming is that she has her toes trimmed and ground down every month. Every time she looks great and is never fearful to come back, that to me, is the sign of a great groomer. I tell everyone I know that I love Fuzzy Friends and they take exceptional care of Summit. NEVER take your animals here!!!! I dropped my dog off at 8am! There were at least 15 other dogs crammed into this small space and all were barking like mad when we walked in. There was one dog climbing onto her desk chair and barking. It also smelled really awful and everything just looked dirty. But I ignored all this because there were mostly good reviews online. The owner was very nice and told me she would call me when my dog was done. I received a call around 1030 asking me if I could pick up my dog at 3pm! I couldn't believe it. She had obviously over booked. I said no because I had an appointment at 3 so she said ok and my dog would be done at 1. I picked my dog up at 1 and he had never been happier to see me. First I noticed my dog was the only one in a kennel-- the owner said because he seemed nervous-- I also noticed the haircut was a little shorter than I wanted but it wasn't a big deal even thought I showed her multiple photos of how I wanted the length. I paid and tipped her over 20%. When I got home I realized my dogs haircut was uneven almost everywhere--she had obviously rushed through it. What is worse however and the REAL reason I'm writing this review is that where my dogs testicles used to be (he is neutered) was shaved down to the skin and bright pink. Posted is a picture 2 whole weeks later!!!!!!!! Still red and irritated and even blistered!!! I am never going back and am writing this in hopes to save someone else from this awful experience of seeing your dog in pain and uncomfortable from something completely avoidable!! read more

Brought my puppy to get groomed here for the first time and my puppy is pretty happy! I called and Monika was able to fit me in same day due to a cancellation. When we got there she seemed pretty nice and asked me a lot of questions to ensure she would groom Bentley the way we wanted. After about 3 hours we went to pick Bentley up and he seemed really happy. He looked clean, smelled great and finally we found someone who cut his nails short! I just went and took our new puppy ginger to monica i was very pleased Ginger was kinda a mess and i couldnt get her hair cleaned up or unmatted.. Monica did a quick job maybe 2 hours - max (ginger is only 4 months old) But i was wowed when i saw her.. yes monica is busy so book a few days out ahead.. The lady at the front was completely rude.. She seemed confused and annoyed that we came here with our dog. We asked if we could get our dog a haircut, and all she yelled was NO. I totally love my dog (Senshi Ryu - Red Shiba Inu), He is the best little dog and will let you know when he is scare or doesn't like going somewhere (mainly the vet), we've been going to fuzzy friends ever since we moved down to Renton totally love it. He always gets so excited when he we get close to the groomers, he always knows it's play time. The owner is super nice, if your dog is well behaved she will let them run around in the back and play with the other dog while and after there spa day. She also will give your dog a special little doggie treat if you let her, my dog will not go until he gets his treat, if she takes to long he start to Bark so as to let her know he is waiting for his treat..hahaha. we totally love this place, and recommend her to anyone looking for the best groomer in Renton. read more

I took my medium hair dachshund in 3 months ago in February of this year and yes, the owner was quite a pleasant and fun lady. I brought her in for grooming and to get her nails trimmed. When I picked up my lil girl, she looked like a cute lil puppy! Her brown coat was faded looking being bc of whatever perfumed powder she put on which I thought made her smell great! I was so happy and proud, couldn't stop praising the owner how good her grooming looked and even tipped her! I thought it was weird how when she kept jumping on me her nails were scratching my legs bc it never hurt before and it actually hurts! I was wearing jeans too! I asked her why that was the case she was like oh.. it'll smooth out so i thought nothing of it! HOWEVER... upon closer inspection after bringing her home 10 mins later... I noticed that despite her grooming being even and well-done on the top and sides.. pretty much what the eye first sees... all her four legs and her whole bottom side was all butchered and uneven. It was totally an eye-sore and very disappointing. You can see the patterns of the shaver she used on 3 of her legs, some parts were almost bald, just like other parts of the bottom side of her belly. I also noticed she was walking kind of funny on my parent's hardwood floor. I picked her up and inspected her toe nails and I felt like crying for my poor lil dog. I couldn't imagine what pain she was in and probably still is in (I'll get to this point in a bit). I am not exaggerating when I said ALL her toe nails were cracked and brittle and cut way too deep. It looked liked she did it in a haste and was so careless and thoughtless of the pain she was causing my dog! Some toe nails were so brittle I was scared to clip it off bc it cracked almost to the root! When I was touching her toe nails she didn't want me to and wimpered or flinched depending on which toe nail I was inspecting! I found a nice nail filer from the body shop my parents had tried to gently file her toe nails to make it less sharp but she kept trying to pull away. She eventually just layed there but she was crying... :( Her eyes were watery and red but she was a good girl. The perfume on her coat was nice and all but it took a couple weeks for the strong smell to go away and for her coat to return to its original nice shiny, brown, soft coat... not sure what kind of shampoo she use but it made her usually fluffly soft hair, coarse and the perfume powder she used really made her beautiful brown coat dull. 3 months later, today, I ordered a nail buffer to do her nails myself... yes that's how long it took for most of her toe nails to grow when it actually grows quite fast and shouldn't take 3 months! Her nails are STILL quite brittle and sharp... some parts are peeling and I am so upset and mad at myself for taking her here! She still isn't quite trusting of me touching her toe nails esp her front two.. but she is slowly giving in as I would gently carass her toe nails and praise her but when she started to pull back I'd stop. This is why I decided I should do a review and let others know that she is understaff and taking in too many dogs! She had at least 15 dogs all big and small when I dropped my dog off and the place isn't that big and she was by herself! PLEASE don't take your dog here.. maybe if it was a doggie daycare for a few hours it'll be okay bc the price is unbeatable.. other than that.. DON'T! read more

The building was clean- pups were here and there- happy environment! Very organized and she was patient with my dog- knowing he couldn't stand the whole time due to back issues. Monica is amazing with my dogs - my little Pomeranian is usually more cautious and wary of strangers and he doesn't let anyone except me pick him up but for some reason he let her handle him and everything... He even gave her kisses lol!also I noticed that she lets dogs roam around in the back if they're not aggressive and well behaved, which is always a plus, and they all looked so happy and comfortable. Anyways my dogs look amazing and so adorable!! When I picked them up, instead of looking anxious and stressed out like they would when I picked them up from other places, they were just happy to see me, as if I was picking them up from daycare, haha and also they weren't dehydrated or anything, so she probably took really good care of them and made them as comfortable as she could. But she did waive the price for my Shiba Inu because her bather overbrushed his thick coat and caused some irritation, which is why I knocked off one star but she taught me how to take care of it and it doesn't seem like it bothers him all that much. She even gave them Valentine's Day themed bandanas :) Keep in mind that if you decide to come on Saturday, she closes at 3:30! read more

Oh my... I trust my Giant Schnauzer to Monica because she is the best. Hands down she knows how to clip the GS head and loves on him so much. Some groomers are not half as nice to dogs but Monica has such a sweet heart with him. He is 12 years old and I can tell when he has been stressed out and when he has been cared for. With her I see him happy and bouncing like a puppy after cuts and baths. We have lived in San Francisco (not nice groomers but know how to cut) and Reno with kind groomers but give him a Bouviers head cut(not the correct lines). This is the only place I will ever take my dogs to be groomed. Trusting you pet will be taken care of is priceless! read more

When we moved to the area, I was worried about finding a new grooming/day care place that my dog Harry would like. We tried Fuzzy Friends, and he LOVES it. He gets excited when we pull up, and can't wait to go in and see Monica and all the other doggies. Monica is an amazing "doggy mommy" -- she is a great groomer, and I really appreciate that she lets Harry stay to play for a bit when I can't leave work right when he is done grooming. We've started "play dates" for Harry as well, and there are times when we pick him up that he isn't quite sure if he's ready to come home or it he really needs to play some more. Be careful. We have the sweetest 4 year old Tri colored Aussie. She gets groomed every 6 weeks since she was 1 year old and all the groomers love her. We seem to find a great groomer and then they leave. Some one recommended Fuzzy Friends. She is a long hair so my wife said just to trim here up a little and clean up the back end. My wife shows up and was shocked to the point of crying as they shaved her to 3/8 shave. So many places were missed with long hair hanging down. When she got home she was acting scared and very nervous. She keeps licking her private area and it seems they shaved her super close. It has been 4 days now and she is still very nervous and jumpy. This is unacceptable she is a happy dog who seems to have been traumatized. This is a start by getting people to understand something is wrong at this place. If this continues I will take her to the vet and go from there. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR PET AND FAMILY MEMBER. read more

Not only is she one of the friendliest people you will ever meet, she is noticeably passionate about the services she provides to her clients. And what a TREAT to not get scolded or be given the industry's pervasive disapproving look when my dog played hard in the forest, then decided to take a dip in the lake--bolstering the accumulated woodland undergrowth into his coat. She understands that while our dogs are cute (THE cutest, I might add), we are not trying to maintain show dogs--we just like to let our boys romp and play, and we are happy to request a very short cut on occasion that will allow our family to enjoy our time outside together. read more

A veterinary found and treated several cut on my puppy after being groomed at Fuzzy Friends. The owner refused any reimbursement for vet cost saying she tells her customers when she nicks a dog and my dog was not nicked. Yet told me I should have taken the dog to her vet. AWFUL! DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I called this place this morning to see about having my dog Nalah's nails clipped and possibly daycare for a day when our usual person is out of town. The woman I spoke to asked me what type of dog I have and when I told her I have a Cane Corso she told me it was too big of a dog. So I asked her what the weight limits are and then she said Pit Bulls and German Shepherds are too big of dogs so again I asked for weight limit because Nalah is still a puppy and not full grown. Then she said she doesn't accept AGGRESSIVE dogs. So I said great I don't have an aggressive dog. So finally she tells me that she does not accept dogs 'that she perceives' are an aggressive breed. Any business that is dog-centered should do their research and would know that these are misconceptions and born out of people ignorantly reading fear mongering headlines. Anyone you entrust your dog to should be looking at individual dog behavior and if they aren't then I would not consider that a safe place to take your dog. No daycare should accept aggressive dogs, but Fuzzy Friends has apparently picked at least 3 breeds they assume will be aggressive (Cane Corso, Pit bull and German Shepherd). There is zero evidence that breed discrimination keeps the public safer and our dog has gone to three different day cares and I have never received this kind of reaction. read more
