Always a great experience at any Mud Bay location, but this is the one I frequent the most. Everyone is friendly and helps with food suggestions when suddenly your cat starts vomiting their usual or your pet develops a food allergy. They even offer samples to help you find one they like and tolerate. They love when you bring your pets in and my pets love going too! These folks are super helpful and just really nice. I have a fussy cat who's picky on food so I had to come back twice to return food he didn't like and staff were really nice about the exchanges and offered us treats and samples for our cats to try. I had never been in to a Mud Bay location, so this was a first. I came to participate in an adoption even for a local rescue (Forgotten Dog Rescue) and found myself wandering through the store picking up things here and there. I ended up with a few items I didn't know I could get here! I love the bulk treats, the bully sticks in different sizes, and the selection of pet foods (cat/dog) all healthy for our fur babies. The staff on hand was knowledgeable, welcoming, and very helpful! I will try the location closer to home, but am definitely a customer now in the end! read more

Everything my animals need! Fantastic selection of natural/raw products to choose from with very knowledgeable staff to help out and provide suggestions. Prices are competitive; lowest on some products I buy most of the time, but not always. They're never the most expensive. I usually see the same employees when i go in there. I LOVE THIS STORE. Seriously. My first time at this location, I was warmly greeted by a relatable associate. No sass, no snot, no jaded personality. After they learned it was my first time there, I was given an envelope that contained a welcome letter, voucher for $5 off my next purchase as well as other coupons.! I was then given a short tour which led me to my favorite part of the store-- the sample wall. This wall is literally FULL of samples that are color-coded according to the properties that make that particular food or snack unique: gluten-free, grain-free, mainly meat, mainly fish etc. You are free to take a reasonable amount of the sample bags as needed. They also sell a lot of things that mainstream stores don't, such as specialty and organic food, or things like doggie ice cream. They also host pet adoption sometimes from rescues. If you have a pet or planning on having a pet soon, I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

In spite of Mud Bay being the closest pet food store to me that sold premium pet food, I wasn't a regular customer. A little over a month ago my 18 year old cat, Sachiko, had a seizure and a trip to the vet didn't reveal the cause. However, the vet did mention that she showed signs of kidney disease. Even though we fed her high quality dry foods all her life, I quickly learned that this was not the best choice. At this point, I stopped into the Kent Mud Bay to see about transitioning from dry to wet food and ultimately raw food. I would have been fine just grabbing the informational sheets they had but one of the staff members asked if they could help. After relaying my story to her, she turned me over to Jennifer as she felt that Jennifer could better help me. Jennifer grabbed several cans of food off the shelf and told me to try them, no charge. Sachiko liked the wet food, but wouldn't eat it unless it was mixed with the dry food. I returned to the store to report my findings and left with a few more cans to try, again no charge. It took another week or two (and more free cans) before I was able to discontinue the dry food altogether. This morning I returned to the store and was greeted by Jennifer. She asked me how Sachiko was doing and I was happy to report that we were ready to transition to raw. On my first visit she had given me a sample of Primal Freeze Dried food and so I had been checking out Primal's website. I opted for frozen rather than freeze dried to save a bit of money and so our journey continues. Needless to say, I am now a Mud Bay customer for life. MUD BAY in Kent saved me and my dog!! Employees Erin and Dalen picked up the phone on 6/11/19 around 8:20 pm (they close 8:30 pm) as I was frantically calling to find a place open that could sell me a dog cone. My dog almost died on the operating table earlier in the day and his cone broke and it was at closing hours for every store. Not only did Erin and Dalen agree to stay past closing hours for me, they were very kind and compassionate to me. Instead of showing good customer service they went above and beyond and showed their passion to helping people and their pets. Thank you Erin and Dalen and Bless you! I will frequent Mud Bay not only for their superb supplies but also because they hire some of the most outstanding good hearted people to take care of everyone that comes in there. I don't have a pet but I've been to this place with friends enough to see that it's definitely not your average 3 star pet store. For such a seemingly small store, there are lots of choices. It also looks like the employees truly love pets and are definitely willing to help you out/give you recommendations. Mud Bay has a great selection of cat food and they aren't afraid to make a recommendation of what the best foods are for your animal even if it's one of the cheaper brands they carry. The staff is very friendly and they give away free pet supplies when you adopt from the King County Animal Shelter. The free stuff you get is also your choice not just the brand sponsored stuff like at the big box pet stores. They don't carry everything but I will always get my cat food and supplies here. Helpful, helpful, helpful. I don't usually like to be helped in stores unless I ask, but the folks here do it in a way that is not annoying or pushy. (They even offered to carry the huge bag o' dog food into my car for me!) I love shopping here because of the selection, service, and quality. I'm willing to pay a little bit more to spoil my little fur baby if it means less crap going into her little body. The stuffed animals/toys are so cute-- I always come here when I get pet gifts for friends. Oh, and if you're trying to find the right food for your fur baby, they have a wall of samples so you find the right one. The clerks at this Mud Bay store are typically helpful and friendly. They don't hover over you or smother you while you're shopping, but they do ask if they can help you if you seem to be looking hopelessly for a certain brand or flavor of pet food. I've found this store to be generally well-stocked and their merchandise conveniently arranged. They carry all the Low Glycemic varieties of Merrick canned cat food that my cats need. They frequently have free samples of pet treats or catnip available that are deeply appreciated by the beasts at home. They always offer a case discount on 24 or more cans, and they always help me out to my car with my purchases. I like Mud Bay a lot. I shop around at several nearby pet stores like reber ranch, pet pros, etc, and I come back bc they often have treats or food that are a few dollars less. Also, my dogs are now obsessed with their recommended treat, a rolled up dried cow cheek. Sounds gross, but it doesn't disintegrate in pieces on the rug and they gnaw on it for days. Saves me a lot of money not having to buy new treats all the time especially since my sister's pugs gnaw CONSTANTLY and can be destructive if not given something to do. They prefer it to antler. What a wonderful store and even to top that, the staff are so welcoming, knowledgeable, and just plain awesome! Athena is the best! She has helped me both times I've come into the store. I took my cat (Odin) in to be fitted for a harness - if I hadn't brought him in, there would have been many trips back and forth to the store. Athena showed me one and we put it on Odin and we promptly started laughing by his behavior. The second harness did the trick. She helped me with finding toothpaste, toothbrush, a two products for bad breath. Athena also gave me samples of healthy snacks, a new pet bag with a $10 discount coupon. Still enjoy coming to this store. They are very generous with samples and treats. I always walk out with freebies. I had to return a bunch of items my dog didn't like. Even though I lost my receipt they offered me in-store credit and I spent every last cent of it. Thank you Mud Bay! I've always trusted Mud Bay in providing the best products for my pup. However, unfortunately I don't make it there as often as I like (it's more convenient for me to go to a Petsmart or a Petco) I spent so much time this morning and afternoon looking for a last minute backpack to carry my dog in on a hike in case she gets tired. With both Petsmart and Petco disappointing in product unavailability. I called Mud Bay with my fingers crossed hoping for a backpack (particularly the K9 one but any at this point) and conquering my fear of talking on my the phone I called Mud Bay before driving there and not only was my phone customer service so wonderful. In that, the employee I spoke to had a nice affect and seemed like she wanted to help which is so refreshing compared to other businesses where people seem annoyed that I called) but Mud Bay also had the exact product I was searching for. I'm going to make it a priority to shop for all my dogs needs at your store. A company of value in terms of, being confident in the products you supply and therefore confident in what I buy and the exceptional customer service which is worthy of respect. I went in to Mud Bay today for the first time, it's time and again highly recommended to me by friends and Co workers. I can see why now. The environment is nice and the shop very clean. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I was greeted immediately by a fabulous young lady by the name of Chelsy who was more than happy to answer my questions and discuss dog food for my poor frenchie with allergies. She gave me a couple samples home to try with my baby, which I found very nice,and a welcome card with a coupon for my next visit. I will be coming back very soon for some dog food. I absolutely love their new location! The space is much larger than their previous location and everything is spaced out better now. It's much easier to see the products they have and doesn't feel crammed when other customer's and pets are in the store. The employees continue to be very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I appreciate them acknowledging your presence in the store and it's a very welcoming and positive atmosphere. They offer help when you enter the store but they give you space if you don't need their help that day. The prices are reasonable and sometimes less than their competitor stores for the same product. after reading great reviews about the other mud bay locations i decided to give this one a shot. it's so unfortunate...they carry all the best brands of pet food and the prices are comparable to other places in the greater seattle area, but the service is so bad! after driving all the way to issaquah for pet food one weekend, i decided to try this place out since it's about 15 minutes away, rather than the 40 to get to issaquah. well, i just might keep driving out there to buy food. i walk in here and nobody says hello. the girl stood at the register pocking at her fingernails the whole time i shopped, not once asking if i was finding everything, had any questions, needed help...NOT A FRICKIN' WORD. i wonder if the owner knows s/he's missing out on sales because the staff is too lazy to sell anything. read more

I love Mud Bay! The staff is friendly and knowledgable (they put them through training and they learn all about nutrition for pets) and the selection is good. If you need any food for your pets, this is definately the place to go. Especially if you don't have a clue what to feed them. Yah! I'm a fan in the fact that I really like their products and some of their employees really are knowledgeable about the products they sell. The flip side you may run into some employees that aren't as knowledgable about the product they sell so that can be discouraging to a newcomer. I've noticed Mud Bay is starting to bring in lower quality pet foods and I need to find out why. But generally speaking, they really are a quality product company but are mainly known for their employees knowledge base of their products and being able to help you troubleshoot your pets needs. read more

I have been going in here since moving to the area for pet food, treats, and other things. They are always very helpful when you go in. My puppy eats the frozen Natures Variety all natural food. I thought I'd change from the normal chicken, beef and lamb I've been feeding her....so I bought her a bag of frozen Bison. I prepared her dinner that night and she promptly turned up her nose and walked away. She's normally a "chow hound", so this was strange. I called Mud Bay and explained and they said "no problem" .
