This was the first Petsmart location I have gone to, to get my dogs food. The second location was the Petsmart on Agua Fria fwy. Both with the same issue. I have purchased Purina, Purina one (large breed), Purina one (standard), and Iams (large breed), and Iams (standard). EVERY BAG HAS HAD MEAL WORMS IN IT. I can't return the food as I empty the bags into an air tight container and toss the bag. I've cleaned the dog food containers, I've replaced the containers, I've swapped brands. At this point I believe all the local Petsmart in the area have this issue. It is probably a problem at the processing facility or the warehouse. I'm done shopping here. The only thing I've gotten after making Petsmart aware of this is coupons for more of their food. I know I'm not the only one that's experienced this. Something needs to be done about it! read more

Don't take your dog to the grooming here! We've taken my dog a few times & I pay for the full bath brush, with teeth & ear cleaning. However, my dog went 2 days ago & was scratching at her ears. We checked and her ears are disgusting. They didn't even clean them, they checked off all the boxes on the grooming report card as if things were fine. We are well aware she does not like the nail grind & hair dryer but they told us she was fantastic & didn't mind it. They aren't taking the time to do all that we are paying for. This store is always clean and has what I need. Close to the house making it convenient to pop in whenever needed. I do wish they had more puppy clothes and I will say some of their pricing is double to triple what Amazon is depending on the item. However, the workers are friendly I get greeted every time or asked if I need help finding anything. I even told the lady at check out I purchased a new puppy and showed her a picture and she melted. I ended up purchasing a heart charm to engrave her name on the laser machine they have in store which was fun. Thank you Petsmart, will be back! read more

I brought my dog here on July 29 to get shampooed, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed. I figured since I had taken them to another PetSmart it would go smoothly. The woman who did her grooming was polite, understanding, and patient. Unfortunately, when I first walked in with my dog the woman in the front complained how I was 15 minutes early, said I could wait, had a rude tone, and yelled at my dog to stop barking when I came to pick up my dog later. We all have bad days at work, but I've had my dog a year and a half, she's 8 now, and prior was not only abandoned, but physically abused, parts of her ears missing, scars under her fur, and not given proper nourishment when I first got her to name a few. It took a long time for her to trust that I wouldn't harm her and to walk in and see a groomer yelling at my dog to stop barking when that's what dogs do, is not a place I trust leaving my dog. read more

What a world class crew. My cat has been harness trained for the better part of 5 years and we've never had an issue. He's been leashed at plenty of vet appointments and on walks and never slipped his harness. Until today when he decided he'd had a bad day, slipped out, and ran away from me in the parking lot. All the team members knew exactly what to do and helped guide him back into the store and corral him for me. They helped me get cleaned up, I was all cut up, and even sent me home with one of their carriers to keep him safe. I then had him seen as an urgent care patient at the vet, impromptu, no appointment. They were amazing, as he was cut up pretty badly too. Me and the Purrminator cannot say thank you enough, without this team I'd still be chasing him down the street. Thank you for saving my cat, he's my best friend. read more

Because I just took her to the vet last week and they said nothing about matting and they gave her a thorough exam and complemented her coat. The store is fine, and clean. I've had my last Labrador here to have her nails done and did a good job. I just tried to get a vet appointment for my male because he has had allergies. Got an appointment made and then they called me to drop him off in the morning of the appointment so they can "access" him better. He is not the type of dog you just "drop off", he really doesn't like new people, so they wanted to change the appointment for the next week. What has happened with services? We use to be able to call and get an appointment and actually go in. I thought if you make an appointment, that's when they access the dog then.....what was I thinking? They sale sick reptiles here. My son wanted a leopard gecko and we went to this Pet-smart about a month ago. They sold use a very skinny albino gecko, I had asked questions and they said it was just because of the type it was. I didn't know much about geckos and my son was excited. When we got it home it has not wanted to eat or anything. I guess I just want people to know be careful buying from them. They are not educated on reptiles and sale sick ones. I have educated myself on geckos now and sadly we have to have this one humanly euthanized. I will not be returning to them. read more

Great place to buy pet items, supplies, and or food. But if you're looking to adopt an animal, do not go to Petsmart. The third-party company that they work for called Halo does not take care of their animals whatsoever. I adopted a cat from them a year ago for $150 and upon taking her home two weeks later was told that she has a staff infection from her spraying surgery. Also, they don't clean the cat ears, nor do they clean their teeth or have all of their information set up to Banfield hospital. This company is such a damn joke. I've come out of pocket nearly $500 just to make sure that my cat has the best quality of life and she's still having problems to this day from what Halo did I will never buy another thing from this company because of the amount of disrespect that they not only show to my family, but also to this innocent animal. Rating would be zero, if it was allowed! Horrible experience with the grooming salon! We had a 4:00 appt, dropped off our dog for grooming...at 7:46 they called to inform us that the had a "small incident" and that our dog had ALREADY been transported to an emergency vet, due to the time of night. The emergency vet informed us that we needed to complete paperwork and then wait 4-5 hours in our car, since their lobby closed at 7:00, for them to see our dog! We did NOT give PetSmart permission to transport our dog ANYWHERE, nor were we informed that she was being transported PRIOR to her transport! Mind you, this was NOT a life threatening issue....they knicked her ear while STARTING the grooming process. According to PetSmart's release waiver, they will notify us PRIOR to seeking veterinary care. Prior did NOT happen, in fact, our dog was again transported back to PetSmart before we could even make it to the Emergency Vet they took her to, none of which did they have permission to do! We will NEVER allow our baby to go back to PetSmart....NOBODY besides us should be transporting her ANYWHERE!!! This was beyond UNACCEPTABLE! read more

They charged me $80 for a bath, brush and nail trim... When I picked him up he was damp, and they told me they couldn't clip his nails... So why did I pay $80??? Pretty ridiculous and the only reason I made this appointment was because one of the groomers called me and asked me if I wanted to bring him in for a 5th time when I told myself I wouldn't go back but I decided to try one last time and I totally regret it. Last time I was there they told me to pay more for him to be seen first like ??? Why do I need to pay more money than you already charge just to be treated the same way? It's just sad, my dog is 4 years old and has anxiety but that doesn't make him a "bad dog" but they sure make it feel like that when I'm there. Eh. PetSmart is never great. Prices are decent but ya always gotta hunt someone down if you need fish or some help. I waited about 10-15 minutes before someone came over to see if I needed help. No, I'm just standing here waiting for a fish to jump in a bag for me. They need to hire someone to be in fish area since that's not something a customer can grab on their own. I like shopping alone, but when it's something an employee has to get someone should always be on alert making sure a customer may need a fish or something. I took my dog for a barh and full haircut service with Jaylee C. At Petsmart 555 s. Cotton lane on 10/18/23 This grooming salon has given me great disappointment. I've been taking my pug pekanise mix there for several years now. This hairstylist with years of experience(I was told over the phone) ruined it for my dog. My dog was ready in less than 30 min. How is this possible?! Well, her ears were not washed-out/cleaned and the haircut is as if someone just learning to cut hair did it. It's all uneven and cut badly so bad i can't fix it i must wait for it to grow a bit. And Jayleen C. had the nerve to tell me that it was not a bad haircut that it's the way this breed grows a double laired hair. I told her just say she moved and dont lie! She repitetly said the same thing the manager came out and said yes, your dog kept moving and was not having it! So that's why the haircut is bad. Still, they charged me and tried to tell me next time that they will need to charge a 10 dollar fee! No, dont worry, after the way she scared my dog, i will not be returning! It's obviously this lady is giving dogs a bad vibe! I heard her raising her voice at another dog. As i was walking out! She does not have the love for dogs! Don't bring your pet here. Will no longer be taking our dog here for grooming after taking him there for 3 years. We showed up 5 minutes before our 9AM appointment, one person was there (Michelle) and immediately started telling us how no other staff was there and the computers weren't on. We waited. Once she did get around to looking up the appointment (which was scheduled online and was told online it would be a certain price - we did both a haircut and a teeth and nail upgrade package that included upgraded shampoo, cologne, and a bandana for another $23), Michelle started to mention that he wasn't really what they had in their system (dachshund) and then proceeded to look from the computer to our dog for another three minutes. Finally settling on the fact that she believed him to be a Carin Terrier and changed it in the system and said nothing more about it. When it came time to pick our dog up we picked up the bill to go pay and the haircut portion was $11 dollars more than was given online and come to find out that little move Michelle pulled in changing his type (again after three years of grooming) added this additional cost. Not only that but I had to point out that the bandana was missing and my wife noticed on the way home that they didn't do the cologne. We were furious. All they seem to care about is charging their customers and not about providing quality service. Because of our experience with Michelle today, we will never be giving their grooming center another dollar. read more

Came into buy our daughter a starter fish tank and was looking for advice. Every employee we talked to was extremely rude and condescending. We were looking for instruction about what fish worked best for a starter tank. We were told anything from needing a 50 gallon tank for one fish and for almost accusing us of threatening fish when we asked if something would work and then we were told "the fish would all die if we did that". Real nice in front of our 7 year old daughter. Had a way less aggressive chat with an employee walking by and told us the way to set up a tank and was really helpful. read more

I had a horrible experience here with the grooming department. When I scheduled a grooming appointment, the tech confirmed my pup was getting the same treatment he had received previously. However, once my husband picked him up, we discovered our dog had been washed but he still looked a ragamuffin due to not being trimmed. I called and the receptionist stated my dog had a wash and comb instead of a wash a trim, which is different. When asked why this wasn't clarified previously, she stated it was at the discretion of whoever answered the phone and they must've not clarified. She was kind and tried to fix the issue by asking her manager if I could just bring in my dog to trim his face. The manager came back to the phone and was extremely rude and entitled. After asking me a ton of questions about what I wanted done (I said just to have my dog's face trimmed up slightly but it didn't have to be a full cut), she told me I'd have to pay full price. This was terrible customer service and could've easily been fixed. What was the the point of wasting my time and asking me a million questions about what I wanted if you knew you were still going to charge? This specific grooming office appears greedy and didn't care to rectify their mistake even though they stated it was their miscommunication. They have lost a customer and I will be sure to advise others to skip this location. read more

Allow me to elaborate (( I am using Siri so forgive her for any mistakes and no punctuation )) my Lady drops the dog off to get groomed I have a 13 month old Shih Tzu who gets groomed very often by another groomer our groomer is on vacation right now so we had to settle because we have family coming into town and I wanted my dog who is like me and my girlfriends child to be looking Sharp so we took the chance and we decided to come down to Petsmart's which is less than a mile away from where we live when we arrive the lazy groomer tells my girlfriend that since our puppy has some mats on his chest and when I say Matt I mean a matte singular one!!!!!! a small one that could have been cut out with a pair of scissors( which they insist they don't use scissors but while watching them groom other dogs I seen them using scissors)) I groom my dog daily I brush his teeth I comb him I bathe him I truly take care of my dog the groomer states that since there's a mat on his chest that she has to shave my dog completely down I wasn't there my girlfriend was there even though she knew that's not what she wanted she stilled agreed to have the dog trimmed down somewhat !!! we ask for the teddy bear Face look that is so well known around the states upon coming to pick our dog up and discuss and disappointment we have a dog that was trimmed down to the lowest point he could go our dog had full amounts of fur on his body it could have been groomed beautifully if the groomers cared enough if the groomers took this as a profession and as a craft and not as a job my dog could've been looking beautiful for our family just coming into town instead they're lazy and want to take the easiest route so we are dealing with a shamed dog we are in embarrassed of the way the dog looks the dog looks like a rat if you ask us!! I had an appointment to get my dog groomed for the first time at this location we just moved to North Phx from Goodyear and the appt was with Michael S. He tried upselling me on everything and I already get the $48 pkg that includes everything. I always get that one then at the end he tried to add $15 because my pup was matted he said, but all he had to do was shave my dog he even explained he was just going to shave him so he wouldn't have to brush him out! I even told him the other location does not over charge me like that the other locations NEVER did this! I had to cancel my appt and walk out and made an appt with Petco who is going to charge me only $36 normal pricing for my 13 pound puppy! I had an email from my vet explaining that the card is extended until next year and because they didn't specify the exact food...he refused. I went online and made a grooming (haircut, nails ground down, shampoo ) appointment with Matt Z yesterday at 2pm(02/26/2020) at the N. 7th Avenue location. When I arrived there at 1:50pm Makala very pleasantly greeted me. I was told that Matt Z was unavailable at the time. To let her know what I needed for my paparrian's haircut. My specifics were to leave his plumey tail alone!!! Don't cut it. Blend his collar hair with the rest of his hair. Don't shave him, hair around ears trimmed symmetrical.(he is a paparrian) I pick him up at 3:45pm and again was told Matt Z was gone! My dog whose hair color is copper is now a light tan, spotted in places from MATT Z adjusting his trimmer and shaved down to almost his skin. A strip of the copper down the middle of his back. The hair around the ears are cut irregularly on both sides. One longer than the next. The tail that was plumey, is now basically a rope with a feathery top to it. I voiced my dissatisfaction to the guy who brought him out and was told.... 'Matt will be here tomorrow, you can bring him in then and he could help you'. Help me with what???? Putting all the hair he incorrectly shaved! Matt Z has cut my dogs hair twice before, with the same instructions that he understood. Pet Smart has a system. You go pay your $56 dollars in the store.
