We brought my best friends beautiful healthy service dog to the petsmart hotel on lake mead. So he could play with friends, be pampered and run around being a happy boy while she was recovering. We dropped him off on Friday morning. He went in 100% healthy, was updated on all his shots, we packed his bag with enough food for breakfast, lunch and dinner of his food so he would eat. When she picked him up on Monday morning, he could barely walk, he was soaking wet and smelled like urine. His bag still had 7 bags of food left in it. Yet the staff acted like they had no idea what was wrong and he was wet cause they had just hosed him down. They were cold and heartless and demanded their 180$ payment even though we were paying for services that he hadn't even received. They never bathed him like they said they would he clearly hadn't been fed. My best friend was anxious to get him home and let him rest, but when he couldn't even walk and he was having seizures on the living room floor. They rushed him to a vet to have him looked at. They hadn't even had him home for half an hr before they had 3 different vets looking at him. The final diagnosis was SEVERE kennel cough, malnutrition, and dehydration. Her beautiful service dog had to be put down because his respiratory system had shut down. The vet told us he had to have been laying in his own feces and urine for several days to be this sick and for his body to start shutting down. He wasnt even 2 years old. He helped her with everything, through her seizures, he reminded her to take her meds. He was there for her when no one was around and he cheered her up and helped her through her severe PTSD. He was an amazing service dog who was so intune with her and knew her better then she knew herself. Petsmart KILLED the one thing that was as important to her as her kids. Her service animal that gave her the quality of life she deserved. So if you value your pets life and they are like family to you. Dont ever take them to petsmart. They will neglect your fur baby and not give a second thought to it. We dont want his death to be in vain and if this post can help anyone make the decision to NEVER TRUST PETSMART then that's a life saved with his. NOTHING petsmart can do will ever make up for the atrocious act they committed. Who knows how many other dogs had to be put down because they were infected as well. Shame on you petsmart for DESTROYING a family by taking the life of their service animal so heartlessly. read more

I love the staff in the daycare and boarding section of this Petsmart particularly Marci. She is so kind, patient and loving to my Grandpuppy Maggie. In fact, all the staff treat the animals in their care like they were their own. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you Petsmart staff for your loving care. read more

I took in my English bulldog for grooming, I was specific about her face wrinkles being sensitive. When I took her home, I clean her wrinkles daily and have never had an issue with her, she started squinting and tightening up her face like I was about to hurt her, she has NEVER done that before, so that tells me they not only disregarded what I told them, but they were extremely rough with her. and the teeth cleaning I paid for, wasn't done at all. will never bring my dog here again read more

The pet hotel is fantastic. I've taken my pets elsewhere and they only are taken out of the kennels twice a day. Here at the pet hotel they are played with, given snacks and will call you with any pet concerns. If needed a vet is available on site for prompt service. If you choose you can call your pet and talk. But don't expect an answer. Staff is great. read more

My boyfriend and I took our dog to the grooming center at this PetSmart once before. Last time (at about 4 months old) she got her nails trimmed and a puppy bath. The groomer told us she was really calm and well behaved during the time she was there. So far we were impressed... Yesterday (at about 8 months old) we took her to get her nails trimmed. We got there to be informed that she needed her shot records. Which is understandable, but you would think they would have told us that when we called ahead of time or at least had it on their website. Anyways... we told the employee we would come back tomorrow with her records. Today we came back and the same employee was working. When we were checking our puppy in she says "do you have your records this time?" The attitude definitely was not needed. Anyways, our puppy was hesitant and scared so she was having trouble connecting with the employee and the other one assisting her. The 2 employees didnt spend more then 30 seconds trying to connect with her so she would feel more secure while they worked on her... Smart right? We stood there watching the entire time they attempted to get her to be still. Our puppy was so uncomfortable she was urinating and she snapped at one of the employees. (You would have think our puppy had actually bit her with force based on her overdramatic reaction) anyways they would not trim our puppies nails. She came back up to us and told us our puppy needed to go to the vet instead and she should get training because she "almost bit her." We are NOT impressed with our service. They obviously are not trained to work with puppies. We had a positive experience with the previous employee but today ruined our association with PetSmart and we will not be coming back again. read more

We have been going to this business (grooming) for at least five years, however, recently the customer service and quality has gone to zero. The young women that are evidently "in charge" are rude and nasty. The only groomer that is beyond awesome is Philip who always does a great job and is always personable. There needs to be some firing of the young women who work here. They urgently need a lesson in kindness and decorum and customer service; especially the supervisor. Do not take your pet here and find another groomer with the exception of Phillip. read more

what can i say,i'm just so in love with this place,i was on vacation and needing a place that i can trust.i mean i trust other place too but just not enough for me to leave my dog the whole night with them.i live in los angeles but just cant wait to go back and go there again.Amazing pet Hotel, staffs were very helpful so i felt ok to leave.the groomer( Gaby) is the most amazing person, enthusiasm, sweet, lovely.i met her accidentally.she's willing to come to work for my dog on the day that she's not suppose to..how nice she is!!..and she left an amazing comment on the report about my dog too. i wasn't there but i felt like i was there at all time with my dog ,cuz they wrote the report about your dog when u were away..amazing idea.!! i can see when i went to pick up my dog.he dint look depressed.he looks tired cuz he got to play all day with other dogs but u have to pay for doggie day camp, who wont? the hotel has 2 prices $25 for smaller room $35 for suite ( i dont really know what's a difference tho mayb the size of the room) but who cares.i feel bad enough to leave my dog all by himself without me so i'd rather pay a bit more expensive to give him a little more space. Plus $14 for doggie day camp.but i got there like in the afternoon so i got charge only $12...I saw my dog playing with others...i feel so happy and ready for the Strip ,u know! LOL Oh btw, doggie day camp starting at 9am-5pm i guess.if u wanna pick up your dog in the late afternoon u should pay another day for day camp cuz my dog dint get potty time cuz i pay just for the day i dropped him not for the next day.cuz i can see after checked out he cant wait to release it. plus grooming $40(cheaper than prices in L.A)..everything came out perfect timing.i spent the night in Strip, having fun, checking out, picking up my dog!! everybody was HAPPY! yeah great trip! P.s they have some kind of like hospital in there too.so no worries when u were away...it's such a full service place! LOVED IT LOVED IT!! read more

Beware of this grooming shop!!! Took my husky in to get a TRIM on Friday. Wanted them to take off about 1/4 of an inch. 4 hours later they called me to pick her up. When KIM brought her out from the back, I was HORRIFIED! They shaved all of her hair off down to the skin! They left her head and her tail full length, and they shaved the rest of her body bare! This was not at all what I asked for. Huskies are a double coated dog, and you are NEVER supposed to shave them, as the undercoat grows at a different rate than the overcoat. A professional groomer should know this! They have taken a perfectly healthy, beautiful young husky and ruined her coat for at least the next year, and probably for the rest of her life! KIM deserves to lose her job over this!!!! She is not meant to be a dog groomer!!!! I have posted a before and after photo showing how they destroyed my beautiful girl's coat... Steer clear of this place!!!!!!!!!!! read more

If i could i would give this place a 0! Me and my fiance and my sister went here to look at the cats as we are looking to adopt 2 very soon. We went to the part of the store where the cats are next to the dogs and we were allowed in and look but there was another room where one cat was by himself, so we asked the lady if we can play with him she was a heavy set maybe mexican or black in race and she said we can't play with him due to the fact it might spread germs and that my 9 year old sister wasn't old enough and told us also to volunteer online. Like really? Just to play with a cat? so frustrated with her horrible customer service we walked away and we saw other cats across the store looking for adoption too which is when the MANAGER! YES THE MANAGER! was super super nice! And let us play with the cats we wanted to play with in that section. If you go here for cats make sure to speak to a manager so you can play with one if your not looking to adopt the same day! read more

Crystal is the rudest person in retail I have ever met. She flat out lies, does not care at all about customers. Our dog got lice for a second time from the groomers at Petsmart and Crystal refuses to to do anything about it. She first said that they have never had lice there, and then after talking to her the next day she admits they had a breakout a year and a half ago, the first time they gave our dog it, that time they took care of no problem. We will never ever walk into a Petsmart again after having to deal with this person. read more

We took our lab to get groomed. We have been there numerous times. When we picked her up , she could not walk, we rushed her to the er vet and she had a broken back!!! We had to put her down because of the amount of pain she was in. Petsmart will not say what happened but oviously something did. I'm not one to seek revenge but honesty would be nice!!! They have reimbursed us for the medical bills but nothing can replace our beloved Jazmin!! I feel someone needs to look into the safety of the animals in their care so this does not happen to others! RIP Jazmin, your family misses you! read more

The employees were all helpful but last time I bought an aquarium stand when I finally brought it home a lot of parts of it was missing. I have a feeling that it was a returned item and they sold it to me. read more

I have been using the dog day camp as well as the hotel for longer stays for the last 5+ years and not once has there been a problem. The staff are amazing, from their friendliness to the fact that they really get to know you and your pets. My dogs absolutely love doing day camp there, they come home happy and ready to sleep for a day! They have learned how to be with a range of other dogs, and the staff have always let me know if something was amiss (like the time one of my dogs didn't like another dog and they gave him a timeout, but after napping for awhile he was put back in play time and did fine and has not had another timeout). These are knowledgeable, caring, good people (I particularly want to do a shout out to Marcy) who I trust completely. This store is clean and bright, lots of special days where photos are taken and ice cream for the pooches is free, and I love the easy location (I work at the University, so can easily drop them off and continue onto work). read more

My brother and I took our dog Jasmine to their grooming salon a week ago Saturday (May 21st) for a shampoo and grooming. I had previously taken her to this store many times and had nothing but good results. Unfortunately, that was far from the case on my last visit there. I brought Jasmine in for her 1:30 PM appointment. She walked in perfectly fine. We were called at 5:39 PM and told that Jasmine was ready to be picked up. To our horror, when we came to pick her up, we discovered that she was unable to stand or walk without a great deal of assistance. We were not informed of this when they called us. The paws report that is given to each owner when you pick your animal up specifically stated that Jasmine "seemed nervous and had trouble walking." This tells me that they obviously knew that something was wrong with her...yet no effort was made to get the Banfield Vet on site to look at her or to call us and inform us that Jasmine was having distress. We brought Jasmine to a nearby urgent care clinic but sadly, there was little that they could do for her and we made an agonizing choice to have her put to sleep. In the days since, both my brother and I have talked to the local store manager and to PS corporate and have gotten no answers to our questions about what happened to Jasmine and why we were not notified. I've gotten lame "your dog was old and overweight" statements, trying to cover themselves. Yet, when my brother pressed the store manager, he admitted that if Jasmine were having standing / walking issues when we brought her in that they wouldn't have taken her. We also challenged them to show us the security camera tapes from the time that we came in and show us where Jasmine showed any hints of walking / standing problems when we brought her in. Needless to say, they declined. Bottom line, something bad happened to Jasmine while she was there and as of this writing, they've made next to no effort to tell us what happened and why. I would STRONGLY encourage pet owners to avoid this place if you care about what happens to your pets. read more

Great store! The people were very friendly and helpful, especially Crystal, Devrie, and Jeremiah. My family and I are taking care of my brother's dog, and we needed help finding food and other essentials for her. They knew everything we needed and exactly where to take us. Thank you for all your time and assistance! read more

I took my puppy for he very first "spa day" and she was very frightened. She'd never had interaction with anyone but family and the vet before that day! But the grooming manager, Valerie, did an excellent job of making my poor Allie feel much better. By the time her visit was done Allie looked beautiful and was acting like a little lady. We were able to use our "Puppy Bath" coupon to apply towards the visit, too. All in all a good experience. read more

I come here all the time since i have a gecko and need crickets a lot. The place is great and always clean. I miss Amanda, she was very nice and very knowledgable on lots of pets!!! Only issue i have is when i go sometimes it can take a while to get assistance with crickets. But i also realize they don't have lots of customers who need crickets. So cant have someone standing there all day waiting for customers when other stuff could be done. Wish they had a buzzer or bell to ring when someone isn't there, so they are aware. This can be a big issue when busy. read more

I signed my two dogs up for daycare service were they were suppose to get walked at least 3x's and have play time with one of the attendants. Well I was concerned from the beginning because Petsmart being a big business does not have webcam installed in their facilities. When I picked up my dogs they were more hyper than when they went in which mean they did not get walked or have any playtime at all! both dogs immediately had to use the bathroom which mean that the attendants did not take them out like she said and they did not eat their food. Which the attendant told me. Dogs cannot talk so why should I trust an attendant just because she said they walked my dogs. I don't trust an establishment for dogs that won't! install webcam what are they really hiding. They would not even let me see the room that they would be in. I think the front rooms are set up to let you believe the dogs are in a cozy room with tv but truthfully they are in a kennel cage. Petsmart get updated with the times and install webcam! read more
