    New Betta Setup? Poor Fish
    Olivia E.

I have little ones so we tend to frequent this Petsmart often to look at all the animals and purchase stuff for our pets. However, today was very sad and disappointing. Most of the cases were empty and there were tons of fish dead and floating in the tanks. I've never had to explain to my kids why there are so many dead fish at a fish store. We were really close to buying a beta until I saw most of them were dead and floating around in the little cups. What happen to this store??? I didn't take any photos but I should've.

    Oreo

We took our 4 month puppy Oreo in for her first grooming! Autumn was AMAZING!! She updated me (I'm sure she could tell I was just as nervous as Oreo) and gave her the best 1st hair cut. We were nervous because we have seen how hair maintenance could be a hit or miss. Not with Autumn! We definitely recommend booking with her and will be back

The "knick" on my dog's chest. approximately 3-4 inches long, required 3 staples
    Hannah I.

I have been getting my dog groomed at Petsmart for awhile and never had any major issues. Today though, I had the worst experience. I was called being told my dog's chest was "knicked" while he was being shaved and that they had to take him to the vet because he was bleeding and they would call me as soon as they got word from the vet. I waited 30ish minutes of not hearing any updates and decided to call them back. I was told that he hadn't been seen by the vet yet and was likely "just waiting in a kennel" but that he probably needed stitches! Now I understand that accidents happen, but the fact that a knick would need stitches and was serious enough to need stitches yet my dog hadn't been seen by a vet yet? My dog is 14 years old and blind/deaf. He gets very nervous in places he hasn't been before, and i'm sure he was just freaking out being locked in a cage while hurt. I decided to go up there so I could see him and get some answers, when I got there they said they still haven't looked at him because they had too many patients at the vet and he wasn't a priority. The groomer cut open my elderly dog's chest but he wasn't a priority!! Then they say they have to wait to get manager approval for them to help my dog at all and he would just have to wait in a kennel until then. Their plan was to put my very old dog under anesthesia so they could stitch him up, which is super risky for an elderly dog. So, upon hearing that bullshit plan I decided to take him to his normal everyday vet. Took him to his normal vet and they got him in a room and saw him immediately! Put some lidocaine on it and put staples in and we were in and out of there with antibiotics and everything in less than 30 minutes!! Fuck Petsmart! Fuck Banfield! Definitely don't trust these people with your animals!

    "STAR" our
  Great Pyrenees

We have been taking our "Star," a Great Pyrenees, to PetSmart, Euless for over 2 years now and have been exceptionally pleased with the grooming of her. Star has a great deal of long white fur (hair) and it gives Ladarica, her groomer, a challenge. The end result is fantastic! Ladarica is truly a professional and takes pride in her work of art, especially in grooming the Great Pyrenees breed. It's very apparent that she loves Star.

We come here regularly for both of my dogs to be groomed. Austyn is always amazing, and all the grooming staff are courteous and friendly.

When we picked her up, she was extremely lethargic and clearly not acting like herself. Within hours, we rushed her to urgent care and were told she had internal bleeding. She was immediately transferred to an emergency animal hospital, where she underwent an emergency splenectomy because cancer was suspected. Thankfully, pathology showed no cancer. We were then told by veterinary professionals that one possible cause of this type of injury is blunt force trauma. I went to this location in person and spoke with the manager to explain what happened and to seek answers--not to accuse anyone, but to understand how our dog could suffer a life-threatening internal injury while in their care. Instead of concern or empathy, I later received a phone call questioning the credibility of what I had said and asking for the name of the hospital and number in order to verify herself. There were no apologies, no expression of concern for Sally's condition, and no willingness to meaningfully engage with us. The focus was entirely on defending themselves and emphasizing how "big of an accusation" this was--despite the fact that we were simply looking for answers, not placing blame. Our dog almost died while under their care, and the lack of compassion, accountability, and basic concern afterward was deeply disturbing. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering leaving their pet here. Stay far away.

I will never…read moreuse anyone else, and in my opinion, no one else should either unless you enjoy wasting time, money, and your dog's intellect. As a former public school educator, his philosophy was the only one that made common sense to me in how a dog and frankly, how humans learn. If he is your first call, you don't need to make any other calls. If he is your last call, you'll be kicking yourself for not finding him first. He comes to the house, for 15 minute training sessions first with your dog, then with you. Guess what your homework is, 7 minute practice with your dog twice a day tops. Then, you are going into bookstores, etc. with your dog. I had a 50 lb 6 month Pitbull/Rottweiler/Am Bulldog mix. I could NOT physically walk him anymore. A leaf blows by, a squirrel, a child squeals and wants to pet the puppy...I was yanked off my feet (I am a single, 5 foot female weighing around 110-115) Our world was getting smaller and smaller. Breyers changed our lives in a matter of weeks. So now I get to experience all of life with my dog by my side. And I'll close with this story. I got a call on a Monday at 5pm from my Dad coming back from a UT football game. "In Hillsboro at the split, I fell asleep at the wheel, woke up rolling and the car is totaled and I need you to come get me." Two girlfriends came over, one is a super small Asian woman that's never owned a dog and the other is older and has only owned purse-sized dogs. Within 30 seconds, I taught them how to walk Presley, and I got in my car and booked it down I-35. They could not believe how gentlemanly and well behaved Presley was, he waits until they walk through doorways, they stop, he stops, one even took him on the elevator, and prior to training, he wouldn't let me do that! And they didn't have to know or give any commands, just his name. So if you want a dog that understands how to behave when you have guests visit, when you are out walking, when you wanna pop into a bookstore, and who ignores squirrels, has respect and boundaries, and who can think and problem solve for themselves, hire Breyers. Again, I am a CPA and I put my name to Breyers Lane and his company Breyers' Canine Academy, and he is the only dog trainer I will ever endorse.

He is incredibly smart, compassionate, and truly understands that every dog is unique. He tailored the training specifically to our dog's needs, using a very gentle yet highly effective approach. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with -- it's not a one-size-fits-all method, and that made all the difference. Our dog responded so well to Justin and his training methods. On top of his excellent training skills, he's also a fantastic dog photographer! He captured some beautiful moments that we will cherish forever. (I included some pics he took in this review!) I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, skilled trainer. We would definitely work with him again if ever needed. 10/10 recommend using him.

We were afraid to let them be in the same room together due to the size difference - when they were in the same room, it was basically gladiator warfare! We chose to board and train them together with Justin for two weeks while we went on an overseas trip. We were absolutely shocked at the progress Justin made with them in a few short days. The pups are totally integrated and we are all finally able to relax in the same room together. Until Justin came along, we were sure this was going to be a forever issue. Aside from the integration, Justin really listened to what our concerns were for training and was able to address each and get us moving in the right direction. He approaches training with love and always with the intention of strengthening your bond with your dog and teaching how to behave so that your dog can live it's best life and have as many adventures with you as possible. It's evident that Justin loves his work and loves and really gets to know each dog. We got great updates every day on how things were going and what he was working on with them. He's also an amazing photographer and we have so many gorgeous puppy portraits that he took. Best decision we ever made to use Justin and Modern Dog to help us with our boys. We just got them back yesterday and they are already more calm, having loads more fun and happy boys!
