It's was great!my dog liked it! He is so happy now

It was great. My dog loved it. They had so many bones for him to eat.they had so many animals to buy and keep.

I've been taking my dog to get groomed here for a little over 2 years and this by far has been the WORST EXPERIENCE. They shaved half?? of my dog because she was "matted" when I had just brushed her out that morning undercoat and all because she does have longer hair. If you are inexperienced please just state that. The gentleman just kept saying he was "sorry he messed up" AND STILL HAD ME PAY

Petco was my to-go pet store when I was living in Phoenix, AZ. I always took my dog there to get groomed and bath. Never had an issue with their services. Took my dog to the Colleyville location to get him groomed and bath. He comes home and immediately starts scratching himself like crazy. He never used to do this after getting groomed. I dont know what shampoo they used or if they ever cleaned the cutting tools used to shave the dogs after each dog, but mine ended up itching so badly that he scratched himself until he is bleeding. Below are the cuts on his tail from scratching it constantly. Will not be returning to this petco location. I regret bringing my dog to this location.

Petco is always my favorite place to get pet supplies for my babies. We used to have 2 cats and 3 dogs until not too long ago but lost our cats due to illness and old age. Now we have only our 3 dogs and Petco is our place for everything from dry food to treats, brushes or wet food. We buy there the beds and the toys, even leashes and dog shampoo. Training classes are available and there's always a food drive for the animals in the shelter. The place is carries all sort of food and accessories for fish, hamsters, reptiles and amphibians, birds and even tarantulas. Clean, professional service and helpful staff that will ease your way through the shopping experience. I love Petco. I recommend Petco and will definitely continue to shop here.

I am not really in this part of colleyville very often, so it was neat to see the new development in this shopping center that had been slowly dieing after Kmart had left due to their cut back in stores. With whole foods entering the picture this center obviously attracted more name-brand corporate stores like this petco. Well I had to come to this shopping center to go to goodie goodie, because I had been given my friends brothers name in a gift exchange, and figured I would pick up my pets stocking stuffer because they were the last couple gifts that I needed to get because my dog has a way of finding treats so I have to time getting things to when my husband who is a foot taller than me can immediately put it higher than my pointer, who on his back legs can reach most places I can. Anyway, with it being a newer store it is very clean and maintained. To me it is more of the size of a unleashed, only slightly bigger to accommodate the grooming salon. Because of what I figure is the size of store they are having to work with the lay out is really ... confusing. I spent about 15 mins in the store and was only able to find one of the things I came into get. Two employees were busy doing what they needed to be doing, stocking shelves & grooming. The other two were just sitting around talking, only looking over at me to make sure I heading to the check out counter, so that at least one of them would have to do something. So I ended up just setting down the one item at the register & walked out, luckily finding it about a buck cheaper at walmart, as well was able to find everything else I needed. I'm sure that this could be a good location ... I'll just stick to the unleashed near my house that I know where stuff is & that the employees help without having to be asked.

Bad Grooming Job. Definitely not $83 worth!

I've taken my dog several times to get groomed here and never had an issue till yesterday. My husband went to take our dog and drop him off since I needed to go to work. He asked them what time do they close because he gets off at 4, but has physical therapy and I (his wife) doesn't get off till 6. So he calls me right before I head into my job to tell me that they are going to charge over $70 and tells me that the lady at the front grooming desk stated there would be an extra fee if we pick him up after 1?! I told him don't worry I'll figure it out later and call on my lunch as to why they are charging us so much. Well luckily I received a text stating that my dog was ready for pick right before my lunch so I headed out there. When I got there I saw there was a matting fee and materials fee? Like I said, I've brought him here before in the same condition as the other times and never got a matting fee before. I've worked for a dog groomer for years and know that he was not matted to get a fee. When I asked for the manager Caleb he just told me "Well I can't really do anything because I didn't see him before he got groomed" now mind you I'm trying to deal with all this on my lunch with food in the car waiting to be taken to my kids at home. I just told him I would pay whatever bill now and deal with this later and speak to Eric. I got home with only 8 mins to eat and be off to work again so I really didn't have time to see how he was groomed. Well here are the photos of how he was "groomed". So please tell me, does this look worthy of $83?! I think not! I've NEVER EVER spent this much for a grooming session let alone this bad of a botched attempt. Let alone he got home smelling the same with no doggy cologne and they've always used it before and was so thirsty as if they didn't give him anything to drink.

He likes to see everything up high lol

He is incredibly smart, compassionate, and truly understands that every dog is unique. He tailored the training specifically to our dog's needs, using a very gentle yet highly effective approach. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with -- it's not a one-size-fits-all method, and that made all the difference. Our dog responded so well to Justin and his training methods. On top of his excellent training skills, he's also a fantastic dog photographer! He captured some beautiful moments that we will cherish forever. (I included some pics he took in this review!) I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, skilled trainer. We would definitely work with him again if ever needed. 10/10 recommend using him.

We were afraid to let them be in the same room together due to the size difference - when they were in the same room, it was basically gladiator warfare! We chose to board and train them together with Justin for two weeks while we went on an overseas trip. We were absolutely shocked at the progress Justin made with them in a few short days. The pups are totally integrated and we are all finally able to relax in the same room together. Until Justin came along, we were sure this was going to be a forever issue. Aside from the integration, Justin really listened to what our concerns were for training and was able to address each and get us moving in the right direction. He approaches training with love and always with the intention of strengthening your bond with your dog and teaching how to behave so that your dog can live it's best life and have as many adventures with you as possible. It's evident that Justin loves his work and loves and really gets to know each dog. We got great updates every day on how things were going and what he was working on with them. He's also an amazing photographer and we have so many gorgeous puppy portraits that he took. Best decision we ever made to use Justin and Modern Dog to help us with our boys. We just got them back yesterday and they are already more calm, having loads more fun and happy boys!

When we picked her up, she was extremely lethargic and clearly not acting like herself. Within hours, we rushed her to urgent care and were told she had internal bleeding. She was immediately transferred to an emergency animal hospital, where she underwent an emergency splenectomy because cancer was suspected. Thankfully, pathology showed no cancer. We were then told by veterinary professionals that one possible cause of this type of injury is blunt force trauma. I went to this location in person and spoke with the manager to explain what happened and to seek answers--not to accuse anyone, but to understand how our dog could suffer a life-threatening internal injury while in their care. Instead of concern or empathy, I later received a phone call questioning the credibility of what I had said and asking for the name of the hospital and number in order to verify herself. There were no apologies, no expression of concern for Sally's condition, and no willingness to meaningfully engage with us. The focus was entirely on defending themselves and emphasizing how "big of an accusation" this was--despite the fact that we were simply looking for answers, not placing blame. Our dog almost died while under their care, and the lack of compassion, accountability, and basic concern afterward was deeply disturbing. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering leaving their pet here. Stay far away.

I now have a 4 month old Vizsla (Rouge) who is as independent as can be. I was confident in myself and hopeful our training togher would go just as well as Sadie. Well, I think I met my match with Rouge. I had attempted all I could with her and decided to get some help. That's when I reached out to Karma. They put me in touch with Miranda for a consultation. We had a great conversation during which I shared with her the challenges i was facing with our training and the outcomes I for which I was hoping. Miranda shared her perspectives of my situation and how she would approach training with Rouge - her methods, marker words, and more. After just one conversation with Miranda, I was comfortable and confident that she would be a great trainer and handler of my sweet pup. It seemed that the best plan for Rouge would be a board and train program so I had Rouge stay with Miranda for a 12-day board and train session. Those twelve days go by (boy was I missing my little pup) and Rouge came back to me, just as excited as ever but something was different. After her typical puppy excitement of seeing me subsided, she was so attentive, calm and engaged with me. Miranda then spent the next hour walking me through what she and Rouge had worked on and the characteristics she had learned about Rouge while they were together. The best part, though, was that Miranda taught not only my pup, but also taught me how to adjust my approach and behavior around Rouge. She shared invaluable advice and pointers that were vital for me to continue training and building my relationship with Rouge. I can't say enough praises about Miranda from Karma and would not hesitate to have her spend more time with Rouge. To be honest, I'm already planning and looking forward to another board and train session with Miranda.

I have a different dog now - a Maltese puppy named Maxwell - who is just over a year old. I started bringing him for Day Camp in the first quarter of 2024. He was very timid and unsure of what to do, but the excellent "camp counselors" at Pawhootz were so patient in doing their evaluations and making sure he felt safe and secure. Now, he acts like he owns the place! When I ask him if he wants to "go play," he goes berserk! And as soon as we pull into the driveway, chaos (the good kind) ensues. He has a little BFF that attends regularly, as well. When I pick him up at the end of the day, he is happily exhaunted. I confess that I balked a bit at the price and having to pay all at once at the beginning of each month; however, Maxwell attends day camp three times per week - when I can't work from home and must be in Dallas all day, I have real peace of mind knowing that he is well taken care of. Also, I love peeking in on the Webcam to see him playing with his buddies - it's the best part of my day! The management at Pawhootz is excellent - they are very responsive to questions and concerns, and they actually listen! You can tell that they have a heart for animals, and they treat them as if they were their own. We have been learning about boarding during the holidays. I was confident that he was safe and well cared for during the holidays. And they are working with me to find ways to alleviate his anxiety - puppies get anxious sometimes when we're away for longer than they are used to! We have not had a full groom here yet, but Maxwell got a luxurious bath and blueberry facial recently! They did a lovely job of brushing and cleaning him up - he was a happy peppy puppy when they brought him out to me. In summary, I highly recommend Pawhootz as a reliable, safe, secure, and trustworthy place to board fur babies. Between the creative enrichment activities and the amazing employees, they are a fun place for a few hours or a few days.

It honestly looks like whoever groomed him either doesn't know how to cut dog hair or simply didn't care. Some areas look hacked with random layers, while other spots weren't cut at all. To make matters worse, she dropped her dog off at 7:00am and didn't hear anything until 3:00pm and that was only because she had to call and check if he was ready. I understand they may have been busy or backed up due to reschedules from the ice storm, but that's not an excuse to deliver such poor-quality work. People are paying with their hard-earned money and deserve proper care and a basic level of professionalism especially when it comes to their fur baby. This experience was frustrating and unacceptable, and won't be returning.
