I had a horrible experience with Dog's Rule Resort. A dog somehow had access to the bed I provided my dog with, and tore it up, and they had to throw it away. She also somehow got injured while not being monitored, and was bleeding. They said "we will give her extra love and care," but as I checked the webcams, she was in a cage for the entire day. Most of the staff is actually pretty nice, but the particular staff member I checked out with was rude, short, and dismissive when I was expressing concerns over my pup. They used to be so good! This is my all time favorite place for doggy daycare and boarding; I definitely spent mucho $$ here. My list of top 7 things about this location: 1) Webcam: When away on vacation and I'm missing my fur babies, I can easily observe them on my mobile device. There are a total of 6 cameras - 3 indoor and 3 outdoor views. It's like playing where's waldo to find your lovelies - fun and rewarding. 2) Play area: The dogs are divided into different play areas based on size. Plenty of overhanging covers to keep your babies cool from the scorching sun. 3) Flexibility: Some of the doggy daycares I've been to require reservation ahead of time. Thank goodness I don't need to make a reservation here, which makes it super convenient when you need someone to look after your pups on the fly. Not to mention, many places charge half day or full day. I absolutely love the option of $4 per hour, especially when I'm only dropping them off for a few hours. I just wish they had more hours on the weekends as they close at 3:30pm on Saturday and 1:30pm on Sunday. They do close on certain holidays, so be sure to check the website for hours on those days 4) Safety: I've taken my boys here countless times. They had no issues with aggressive dogs causing harm, e.g. bite marks or other injuries. They are pretty stringent about having updated immunization records for the safety of the pups, so make sure you're squared away with vet vaccinations before you can start daycare/boarding. 5) Friendliness: If you frequent here as often as we do, the staff will recognize your pup with a blink of an eye. The staff are always excited to see my fur babies. Occasionally, they will get a snack before they leave. 6) Convenience: I like the ease of making a reservation for boarding online; they are good about sending a confirmation email. The staff are tech savvy, so you can also send immunization records via email. 7) Other services: To make life even more convenient, they have the option to schedule grooming and/or dental cleaning services available on site. Some other tips for boarding...I would recommend having your dog do a trial of doggy daycare to get used to the place if they are boarding for the first time. On boarding day, I like to bring in my dogs' beds and food to provide comfort when they're away from home. They do have food provided, but I would not recommend doing so as that may throw off their routine diet. FYI: They do have discounts if you board more than 1 dog at a time. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOGS HERE. I left my dog here from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon and noticed immediately upon leaving that something was wrong. He was limping very badly and we looked closer and he had dried blood all over his back leg. So we immediately went to the ER where they confirmed that it was a bad bite mark after we found a second wound. They also confirmed that this was not a new cut and it was at least 24 hours old as it had begun healing itself improperly and had already started to become infected. My dog was NOT given the supervision and care that was promised when dropping him off. I was even told that he had "a wonderful stay" while picking him up. They did not pay attention enough to hear how bad he would have yelped when being bit nor at his limp afterwards. They will not take good care of your dog. read more

We moved to Fort Worth six months ago so not knowing this area it's hard to trust just anyone taking care of mans best friend. So when it came time for my Australian Shepherds grooming I did the only logical thing....consult Yelp. We chose Dogs Rule Resort based on the excellent ratings. I called them and made the arrangements over the phone. I liked how they screen the pets and request copies of their vaccinations. That shows me a true concern for making sure all their pets are safe. So we dropped him off and met one of their very friendly staff. She walked us through the process and asked if they were done early if my dog could spend a little time in the doggy daycare. Uh yeah!!! My Aussie never runs out of energy so that was a win. When we dropped him off I was impressed to see a nice area fenced off with employees watching all the dogs. Truly looked like a resort for the dogs. Got the call a couple hours later and picked him up. Super impressed with the level of service and price. For $50 he got a shampoo, nails trimmed, teeth brushed and anal glands expressed. Dogs Rule can't explain how our dog is eating dog food that is not hers. The dog cams online are worthless. You can't really see your dog and what they are doing at all times. They don't let you in the back to see the suite your dog will be staying in. For all we know, they could be sharing the suites with other dogs and this is how they are getting into eat others food. We have used this location to kennel our dog on and off for 3 years. They have a lovely staff that take care of your pet like a family member. The dog plays with other same size dogs and the caretaker roll-takes letting the dogs play outside and inside facility. The facility is nicely secured and gated. They have multiple cameras to watch then inside and outside 24/7. The have separate "apartment unit" for each dog to stay in and also offered additional service of grooming/bathing, so your dog is freshly clean when you come pick them up. I was recommend this boarding facility by a few of my neighbors. I went off their glowing reviews , but was very disappointed. I left my dog there over spring break. When I picked him up after 6 days he was covered in urine and smelled awful. His bag of toys, blanket and chew bones that were stay in his crate only also smelled of urine and were damp. I ended up throwing it all away because the smell was so horrid. I had a grooming appt for my dog already set up after boarding pick up and I was so embarrassed that our groomer had to bath him after I realized how terrible he smelled. When I picked up our dog at the groomer ( who I used for a year and highly recommend( Glam Bam Paws) they proceeded to tell me that they had to give him 4 baths to get him clean. They agreeed that he must have sitting in his crate in urine for days. He was filthy. I immediacy called and spoke to a manager at Dogs rule and gave my concerns and frustration. I was completely dismissed, told that it was normal for dogs to come home from boarding smelling like urine and they were unapologetic and not willing to offer any acceptance of the quality of care that was obviously lacking. We were starting to lose hope that we would ever find a doggy day care in this area that could compare to the stellar Barney's Ranch in Carrollton. We thought we had visited every day care option in the area, none of which were acceptable to us, when we found out about Dogs Rule. We scheduled a tour and we were immediately impressed. Incredibly friendly staff greeted us and showed us around their spacious and well cleaned facility. They have a large yard area covered with astro turf, so no muddy puppies here. The interior and exterior areas are divided so they can keep dogs of similar size and temperament together. The inside rooms have flat screens playing doggy tv. The best part is the webcams. You can check in any time of day and you will see staff hanging out with the dogs, making sure everyone is playing nice, keeping things clean, and loving on the dogs. Your dog's first day at daycare will be free, because they use that day to assess their behavior and ensure they will do well at day care. Awesome, right? They are more than happy to accommodate the fact that we have a dog who is scared of bowls, so we bring a mat for them to eat lunch on. They even clean the mat for us - thanks guys! They also keep a close eye on our pups and were able to tell us when one of our dogs was favoring his ear and shaking his head more than usual. Let us save you the time we spent hunting. I've been to Dogs Rule twice and that was two times too many. The first time was over a weekend and one of my dogs came back with a kennel cough that took a week to clear up, and they both came back with various nicks and scratches on their faces. Relatively minor, but annoying nonetheless. The staff was nice enough, and the location was convenient enough to make me trust them when we went out of town for 8 days last month. This time was much, much worse. I knew something was wrong when we picked them up, because both of the dogs were less excited than I expected and I noticed some bumps on my larger dog's head. The staff never said anything and we were anxious to get home, so we left. Shortly after we left though, I noticed my larger dog had numerous cuts on his head accompanied by some large bumps. He didn't seem terribly bothered by it, so I left it alone. Again, my smaller dog had cuts on her face, but she didn't seem bothered by it either. Since we've been back though, both the injury and his overall health has continued to decline. He has been totally lethargic, with dark green snot running from his nose, coughing all day and night. He's is so congested that he is unable to bark, so when things go bump in the night, all he can do is try to get out a pathetic little howl. $584.56 was a lot of money to let my dog get hurt and sick. read more

This place doesn't train their employees to give accurate information to potential clients. We made a reservation for a week's stay for our 5 month old puppy, only having two of three series of vaccines. My husband called to verify that this was acceptable, and were told numerous times by an employee that that was fine. We showed up today to drop her off (leaving tomorrow morning) and we're told that they couldn't take her due to the missing series. So there we are, approx 12 hrs from our flight to half way across the country with a dog we now have to rush to find somewhere to take her. Our chocolate lab puppy loves Dogs Rule! She comes home exhausted after a hard day of playing with other pups, which is awesome for us! DRR is a great place- very clean, with helpful staff and affordable rates. We pay $22 for a full day (9 hours) of daycare. There are web cams posted to allow owners to login occasionally and check on their pets. There are indoor areas to cool down and rest, along with a great outdoor space for lots of running and water play. The staff does a great job acclimating new pets to the facility- making sure they are a good fit with the rest of the group. There's a lot of transparency here, which is important since we all know that our pets are just an important part of the family as anyone else. I showed up unannounced to tour the space, and there were no issues with that at all. Considering the number of dogs on site the place was practically spotless! After our quick tour, another owner was in the lobby waiting to grab his dog from daycare and he gave unsolicited feedback about how wonderful DRR is. You don't have to pay the full $22 for a day at the daycare he explained. It's $4/hour and many times he will drop his dog off for 2-3 hours and pay a smaller fee, which is a great option. DRR offers boarding as well as quality pet foods and products. Although we're relatively new to the place we are very happy with how our puppy is treated. If you are interested you'll want to make sure all of your pets' shot records are up to date and provided to DRR. They won't take dogs that are not fully vaccinated (a good thing). read more

I've been bringing my dog to Dogs Rule for a while now, and I couldn't be happier with them. Every time I've had a question, the staff go out of their way to get me an answer. When we asked to touch base with one of the trainers about our dog's social skills, she spent a generous amount of time talking to us about her behavior and how to improve it, and was very proactive about helping us come up with a plan. My dog is always happy and healthy when she comes home. The facility itself is clean and large. When we have to board her for long weekends, they allow and encourage us to bring treats, toys, and a blanket from home to make the stay as comfortable as possible. I have been very happy with the grooming she's received there, as well. The webcams are the icing on the cake -- I don't have to call to check on her, and I don't have to question whether their report is legit. Any time I want, I can see for myself what she's doing and how she's behaving, and she always looks like she's having a blast. Make no mistake, my dog is my baby, I'm a total helicopter mom where she's concerned, and I have ridiculous standards for a kennel or daycare. This is, in my opinion, the first truly 5-star kennel I've ever had one of my dogs in! read more

Place was a huge disappointment. My dog had the runs for 3 weeks after picking him up. They rushed him in once we got there without my daughters getting the chance to say goodbye to our dog. Couldn't show us the kennel they would be in for "liability" purposes. We volunteer at a Dobie rescue and we know precautions in dealing with strange dogs. They told us to just look at the cameras to see our pet. The clarity of the cameras was bad that I couldn't even tell which dog was ours. Plus they take in like 2000 dogs at one time or it seems like it. Dogs Rule Resort, it's about quality and not quantity. Please put me on your ban list just in case I get amnesia and come back. I found Dogs Rule in February 2012 and have been a regular ever since. Daycare, boarding and grooming are all stellar. I tried a few daycare locations before and none of them were as attentive and caring about the dogs in their care. Boarding is worth every penny, especially since daycare is included. My dog enjoys it so much that when I say "Dogs Rule" she gets uber excited...and when we get there she cant wait to get out of the car! Julia and her staff are always amazing. They even called me one day after I dropped off to let me know her Bordatella was due. Not only did they have it in stock to give her....it was knowing that they truly keep track of the health requirements of their clients! No doubting she may end up playing with a dog that hasn't had their shots kept up to date! I'll start by saying I did get a good feeling about this boarding facility when I first walked in, they greeted my dog, and made me comfortable with leaving him. They told me to check the web cams and I could watch him play. Well I never once was able to locate him among the property or out of his kennel. When I picked him up they said he wasn't allowed because he wasn't neutered. I understand not being around female dogs, but I never once saw him out. This used to be a good place to take your dog (I have been taking my dog there for 3 years) until the owners ran off all the good employees. My dog got injured while he was at day care. $250 vet bill later, Ed, one of the owners told me that they would take care of the bill. Then he comes back and tells me that he's not going to take care of the bill. Also, there is no limit on how many dogs they will take so they may have 150 dogs on any given day. They are always short staffed because they can't keep employees. So if you bring your dog to daycare you may end up paying for him to sit in a kennel all day like I have. I I called and spoke to their new manager Heather, who obviously had no knowledge about dogs and their behavior nor did she offer to refund my money. I have been using DRR for two years. Prior to getting the two dogs I have now both Boxer Mixes, I used DRR in Carrolton. My dogs are always well cared for. They come home happy and tired. When I say to my dogs do you want to go to Daycare both get excited and start running around the house and to the door. They give my dogs a break midday as I have asked and never once have I had an issue. I have told many of my friends about DRR. I believe that this is the best doggie daycare in the Keller area. I have visited others and DRR staff take time to talk to me and do what I ask. My dogs will continue to attend DRR. They bring the animals in when the heat index is high or temperature is too hot.
