The staff have always been helpful and friendly. I shop here specifically for a prescription brand of cat food.

Petsmart has what we need to take care of our animals. They have a good selection of dog and cat food, and kitty litter. I have adopted cats from them and they are helpful and knowledgeable about the adoption process. I really like the opportunities to donate to pet charities, local pet adoption agencies and the children's hospital at Christmastime. Most of the time I'm greeted with a smile and a friendly greeting when I walk through the door. Thank you, Petsmart! read more

I just wanted to take a moment to give a big shoutout to Taylor & Austin at PetSmart! From the moment I walked in, they were incredibly friendly and welcoming--they really made me feel at home. They were both so sweet with my puppy and took the time to make sure he felt comfortable. Not only that, but they made him look absolutely adorable! I couldn't be happier with the experience. It's not every day you come across people who clearly love what they do and treat your pets like their own. Thank you, Taylor & Austin! read more

Went to take my dog in for an emergency trimming my dog back right paw nail was starting to grown into the bottom of his paw! The nice lady got me in quick and trimmed his back nails but the poor lady had to stop the service early because my dog was getting a little mean because of the pain! I appreciate her help so much despite not being able to complete the service! Boomer thanks you! read more

Dear PetStupid, This is my breakup letter to you. Over the years I have found you treated me badly, often taking my money with your overpriced products. I thought you had changed when you decided to price match your competitor Chewy. But recently, you went back to your old ways and stopped doing that because I guess you just can't compete with them after all. This tells me that you know you are overcharging and you really don't care about me anyway. I would come to you when I needed something and sometimes I would prefer to buy from you because you are a local business. You have since changed my mind about you and I do believe that our relationship is now over for good. I will instead buy from Chewy where the prices are much better and what a convenience that I don't have to drive anywhere or worry about dealing with any Covid or nasty customers that are also upset with you for your overpriced products. I can order from them and it will be delivered to my door and I SAVE A LOT OF MONEY. So when you come to your senses and you look inward on your soulless self, and realize you have made a horrible mistake; send me a love note and a whole lot of coupons to make up for all the times you have overcharged me and I might consider taking you back. Maybe. So instead of losing a couple of dollars to price match my items, you have lost all of my money. And reader, take my advice, shop at Chewy and save yourself the hassle of shopping inconvenience and also gain a lot more money in your wallet. Perhaps when PetStupid loses enough customers they may change their attitude and see the error of their ways. So long lover, NeverComingBack read more

I have been coming to this Petsmart groomers for 10 years. I have been unable to get an appointment to have my dog groomed for over a month. It is now mid-February and they're telling me they have nothing available until the end of March. However, when I walked in today to ask about availability, both groomers were doing nothing. There were no dogs being groomed and I couldn't hear any dogs in the back. Not sure what exactly is going on, but they have lost our business. We have a senior dog, and they've always done a great job with her. read more

Took my pup in here for literally her last 10 mins of life. Went to put her in the little carts walking into the store the associate blocks me walking through the doors. Yes, I know for safety reasons dogs shouldn't go in those little carts due to jumping out but I wanted her close to me. Anyways came to buy my pup a bed because she could no longer hold her head up. Upon agreeing the associate whom I have dealt with many times points out the cart visibly says not to. Again I understand I just wish more sympathy was used. I moved my precious put to the bottom of a big cart when I couldn't really comfort her, she was very scared. Needless to say as soon as I got to the parking lot to pull out my sweet baby in her new 30 dollars dog bed passed away. I am just disappointed in how this situation was handled. Will be using the local feeders store from now on they seem to really care about pets and their families. As you can see this dog is clearly not jumping from anywhere. I never post any reviews but feel like y'all need to address this as I can't get ahold anyone at the store..Thinking empathy should be part of the training program! Very disappointed in my trip to petsmart Beavercreek. DO BETTER!!! read more

Don't bother going here for a nail trim/grind they won't accept you. I've tried to take my dog here for a nail trim and every time I come here they said they don't do nail trims here or they're no nail trimmers here, and more. What it sounds like are a bunch of lies and excuses, at least make the lies more logical and believable. Also after reading the other reviews, it seems like every groomers there are reckless and don't care the safety of the dogs they groom. read more

This review is for Banfield Hospital. Where do I begin. My boyfriend and dog moved to Ohio over a year ago. We noticed some progressive hair loss on his tail (the dog's, not the boyfriend!) and it got worse on his nose. There are not that many vets in the area - Petsmart's Banfield was the closest. Never again will we choose a place based on location (shame on us!). This was not only a waste of money but there was the loss of time to get to the correct diagnosis. Here's a list of shame shame on them: -Vet seemed awkwardly nervous with our dog. You're a vet - why would you be scared of your patients? -Vet obtained labs from our dog. I am in the medical field so I don't know how different it is from Veterinary medicine. But I would think gloves would be a good idea. And recapping the used needle with his hands? Just worry that these are just a glimpse of bad habits while I was in the exam room. What does this Vet do when the pet's parents aren't around? -Vet did some basic labs. They all came back normal. But he did not pursue any further tests to figure out the symmetrical hair loss on our dog's tail. We took our dog to a Vet back in Chicago who was diligent and found the underlying issue. Now he has to be on medications for the rest of his life but if it wasn't caught, who knows if he would have deteriorated beyond just hair loss. -You call that a nail trim? Nails were still long when they were done but felt like we had to get out of there because, yes, all of the above. Bottom line, if you love your dog, don't take him/her the Petsmart Banfield Hospital, especially not this one. I encountered less than satisfactory service and our poor pup ended up not getting proper treatment in a timely manner. read more

This review pertains to their grooming services only. I have taken my cat, a Himalayan, there twice. The first time I had him shaved because his fur gets so matted and thought it would be impossible to get them out by brushing. I was pleased with the result however, his fur didn't grow back properly. It was uneven in length and vowed never to shave him again. Needing to be groomed again a few weeks ago and after speaking with the groomer, they assured me that they could get out all the mats without shaving completely, however, if some mats were close to the skin, shaving a small area would be necessary. I was OK with that. I booked an appointment. I arrived on the scheduled day to discover that I was not listed on the appointment schedule. They apologized and said they were having issues with their booking system and appointments were getting dropped. They were able to get me in despite their full schedule. 4 hours later someone called and said he was done. When I got there someone else said he was still wet from the bath and hesitant to let him go. Clearly a disconnect in their communication with each other. At this point I just wanted my cat. It wasn't that cold outside so I didn't feel like it was a big risk to his health. When I got him home and examined the grooming job I was so surprised to find many of the mats still there. For this they charged me $65. I probably should have taken him back but just didn't want the hassle. I will never take him here for grooming again. read more

Took my doggie here when he was a puppy. He is a yorkie so his hair gets long, and we can tell it bugs him so we get it cut. We took him here for his first haircut and when he came out he was shiny, smelled, amazing, and his hair was so cute it bounced when he walked. Whenever we move back home.... we will definitely take him back here! Oh.... and the puppy trim is super cheap!! After that it's like $50 give or take, I believe. read more

The people were really nice and seemed caring but I don't think I will be taking my dog there again. For one thing they were really expensive and she came home kind of looking like a bobble head, they snipped her little pee pee (for better use of the word) and her foot and right now I think she got an infection from the snip on her pee pee so I need to take her in tomorrow (maybe this has nothing to do with it but I've noticed it since I took her in), and they kept a her for a really long time and she started getting anxious especially for the dogs barking and barking. I felt bad leaving her there but she needed a grooming bad. Maybe it was just a bad experience but I'm not taking that chance again with her. read more

Took my golden retriever for grooming. Dani asked how much fur I wanted cut off. I told her I didn't want any "cut" off. She needs to be shaped up, trimmed. I clearly told her the only time I had her fur cut was when she had dredlocks a year ago. You guessed it Dani did it her way even though it's my dog and I'm the one paying. I told her I was unhappy and I didn't like it. I've looked up the definition. Trim is take a little off the ends. Cut means to take off a lot. Well, my dog got a a lot taken off and I'M not happy. When I voiced my displeasure, she proceeded to try and redefine trim. The encounter was civil but I didn't minch words. I will not go back again. This was our 4th visit in a year. read more

I generally like Petsmart for dog/cat toys, but this lat trip I realized they had a quite good selection of aquariums and fish supplies. I've always like fist and have been looking to get some fish to set up an aquarium. Here, I found some beautiful betta bowls that looked more like art than just a glass block. They also had a good selection of Martha Stewart pet items. Strange? Yup, I thought that on first glance too. But after going over to make fun of them, I realized there were some pretty good ideas in it. Like the dog bowl that has raised pieces in the reservoir so that the dog doesn't bolt his food. Pretty smart! read more

We came in to adopt a cat, and we left with full hearts. I was a little bothered when I saw the location of the cats (what felt like a small room pushed away from the rest of the building) but we soon learned that they were treated and kings and queens. When we talked to an employee about what we were looking for, she was extremely helpful, describing each cat and what she believed their ideal home would be. We already have two cats, but they don't get along well because one is sleepy and one is playful. She helped us pick a very cuddly and playful kitten, who has made a perfect addition to our home (and cut down on the fussing of the other two) The coupon book that we received for adopting was a phenomenal bonus, and really showed me how much PetSmart values adoption. We drove out of our way to go to this location because the one closest to our home has not always been ideal. We value the atmosphere that this PetSmart has to offer, and the employees always make sure that you have your best experience and leave with everything you need at a reasonable price. read more

It's just a mess. Dead fish in the tank. I even had some come home with ich that I then had to treat my tank for. It's just poorly managed at least on the aquatic side. A few minor fixes would improve the quality of it more, but until then it is what it is. read more

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!! I have a 4.5 year old cocker spaniel, who is the sweetest dog ever, but like any cocker she is a bit timid, especially around new people so she requires a few minutes and a gentle approach to get acquainted with them. This groomer at the Beavercreek location, not sure where she got her training, but she just came at my dog and started manhandling her, completely ignoring the fact she was completely scared of her. She approached her from the top, which you NEVER do with a small dog, especially if scared... my dog nipped her as she grabbed her ear; and I mean grabbed! The groomer immediately got this smug look on her face saying she was refusing us service and that my dog is dangerous. So... here goes... I left the store and I was quite upset. I have been taking my cocker to Petsmart groomers since she was 6 weeks old. NEVER had not a single problem. NONE!!! All her groomers (multiple locations within Ohio and California) knew immediately how to approach her and she completely cooperated with everything they needed her to do for them. I booked my dog an appointment in the Centerville location just hours later and when we arrived, it was exactly the same! My dog took to the groomer just great! The groomer approached her correctly and she willingly followed her to the back. They also did a wonderful job grooming her. I think I will drive the extra 14 miles for a good groomer rather than go to this location here where the groomers obviously lack training and the store smells something awful too... I most definitely will NOT be returning here for any reason. read more

I went to buy food for my dog at this store with my husband and my son today. While I waited for my husband next to the fish and the birds I was asked about 5 times by a cashier if I was needing something and if I was okay. Wish I replied I was. I was only waiting for them to finish buying the food. It got so irritating that I felt uncomfortable and unwanted. I don't know if the cashier was high on something but I totally ruled out that when my husband (who is an army soldier and was in uniform) came back and told me they asked him about the same amount of times if he was okay and need something. Like they were rushing him out too. It was 3pm in the middle of the day. why would they harass their clients so much? Totally inappropriate. With a bad attitude. read more

I've come to this PetSmart for over five years, frequenting most often (1-3x a week) within the last twelve months (when I moved to Ohio). My household spends roughly $500 a month between two cats and a dog who all have varying needs due to age and sensitivities. So I think I'm a decent judge of this establishment. Long Story: First off, for ages- since its establishment as a PetSmart- this store didn't have a child's changing table in the restroom. I figured it's because they might have a family restroom with a changing table, so I've never thought twice about it (other PetSmarts in other cities and states I've patroned have this option). Well, one eventful day on June 8th, I was looking to change the soiled diaper of my 15 month old and couldn't find one anywhere even after searching for 10 minutes, walking around the store like a psychotic behemoth (I was 8.5 months pregnant) with a raging toddler (she pooped). I asked the nearest SA, Sandy, after pacing up and down the store (with no one to ask if I needed help) for assistance, and the snooty SA replied, "You can change her on the floor (of the restroom)." SERIOUSLY? I was stunned, livid and exhausted. A woman who exited the restroom couldn't believe the SA responded in like. WTF. I haughtily changed my raging toddler's diaper on the roof of a crate as quickly as I could, and complained when I checked out with her/Sandy. I immediately called Corporate and complained about the incident, telling them I wanted an apology. I was called back by Corporate the next day and was told that my problem would be fixed. What did the store do? The store manager, Wanette?, put in a changing station in the restroom, and told me that Sandy would call and apologize. Well, awesome. I waited and waited and waited. One month goes by, and nothing. I called Corporate again to complain about the lack of empathy from its employees. It's November 12th and STILL NOTHING from Sandy. All I got was a measly $25 gift card. Womp womp. Customer service in this store needs to be reviewed. They're horrible. In short, if I could give this store 0 stars, I would. I will not hesitate to defer people from this store. If you have to go to a pet store, go to PetSmart in Sugar Creek. The CS and the store is SO much nicer. If you have to go to a pet store in-town, go to Pet Supplies Plus by Walmart or Pet Valu by Kroger. read more

Was called an hour after I dropped my dogs off that one of my dogs was stressed with bath and since it's late in the day (two hours until closing) that she was too tired to deal with my dog. Supervisor said no other person could groom dog when I complained about employee calling to say she was too tired to work on my dog. I would NEVER ago back. read more

I have never had a problem with this store at all. I've never used the vet because I've heard nothing but bad things about Banfield and I don't use the groomer because I have pugs and they have short hair. But, I do use the rest of the store and they always have sufficient items I need such as Bil-jac dog food (which I cannot get anywhere but Petsmart for some reason) and they always have such cute dog items. The only complaint is that, at Christmas, they stopped selling dog Christmas cards in bulk and only sell single ones which is sad. Who sends out only one Christmas card and paying for them in bulk is so much cheaper! Anyway, I like the place and the fact that they allow rescue groups to place dogs on the weekends! That is certainly a way to recycle used dogs and cats and that is a god thing! Way to go Petsmart! read more

Outrageous prices for mediocre work. Not to mention dogs are kenneled for hours at a time to "air dry. "

DO NOT take your dog here to be groomed. I am not sure what happened to my Maltese during her grooming appointment, but when she got home she couldn't walk without falling down. She had sustained a back/leg injury while at PetSmart and I was not notified whatsoever. She also stopped eating after her PetSmart visit. I'm not sure if she was abused or if they allowed her to jump from a grooming table. I had to take her to an emergency vet clinic immediately, which ended up costing around $300. Please do not risk your pet's health by taking it here. read more

I have never been tempted to write a review before today. I walked into the Petsmart grooming salon like I have plenty of times before to get his nails trimmed. I had called in before to ask if they had time, the woman on the phone told me that at one they would have availability. When I arrive I am told I need to wait another hour so I take my dog to the car to wait. I call back an hour later asking if they had time, she says there will be another 20 minute wait. When I finally get there to have his nails trimmed, I walk out to find that they have tinted the windows where you used to be able to watch your dogs be groomed. Weird. I hear an announcement saying my dog is ready about 2 minutes after I left him. I walk in and the woman says shes unable to cut his front nails because he is "trying to roll over". I am beyond irritated now, so I walk out (they didnt charge me) and go home. I look at his back nails when i get home and they look absolutely terrible. Not sure if I just got the worst groomer there but I have never had this problem before today. I will not be going back. read more

AVOID THE GROOMING "SALON." I have taken my Coton De Tulear to Petsmart twice to be groomed. The first time I took her I was very unhappy and should have not tried again. I thought the BAD haircut might just be a fluke and I gave Petsmart another try. Bad idea. I didn't see the groomers using anything but electric clippers. They were shaving the dogs rather than cutting. My dog was returned to me uneven, blotchy and legs were essentially shaved down to the skin. It was very uneven and looked like a child had cut her. It is obvious that the groomers don't have the experience and the price was too high. read more

Petsmart on Feedwire Rd or Pets Supply Plus is a much better choice if you'd like to be helped with your purchases or treated courteously.

Went in for a grooming and nail grinding for my six month old Morkie. Our little guy was there for four hours. When the groomer called to have us pick him up, she let us know that he was getting moody by the end and that she had some problems with around his face and his nails. Upon getting him home we noticed it was much more than that. Hair cut is completely uneven, random long pieces of hair all over, tear stains still there, and that's not even mentioning the issues the groomer forwarned is about with his face. I would not recommend taking your small breed here and I do no plan on returning. read more

Worst customer service I have encountered!! My dog had an appointment at 5pm. When my husband took him, he forgot he proof of rabies paper. My puppy has a rabies tag on. When he explained to them that he lived 15 mins away and would have to return and it would be a little while he was told it was ok. I also called and was told it was ok. In the mean time (while he's driving back and forth), a girl called me. She said she couldn't groom my puppy and it was too late. She was snotty, and kept giggling. I explained to her we were told it was ok, but she refused. I will NEVER EVER return there!!! read more

I have a Yorkie and a bearded dragon. I spend about $50 a week on dog food, crickets and supplies. I was taking the dog there for grooming about every 6 weeks but quit when they said they would have to shave her because she had a mat refusing to comb or even cut it out. (The groomer I switched to combed her out with no problem). The last three times I went for crickets I had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to get them. The last time I went in, they told me the person who gets the crickets was busy so I would have to wait. Meanwhile, at one point the manager walked out and chatted with the cashier then they switched cashiers and I was told neither was capable of getting me crickets. I tried to talk to the manager but after waiting more than 5 more minutes for him to get off the phone I gave up and went down the road to Pet Supplies Plus, where I was waited on immediately. I have given this PetSmart too many chances. No more. read more
