I took him to Kenzie's K9 Design (who was VERY responsive to Yelp messages for a quote) and they did an absolutely phenomenal job. I told them I was okay with even shaving him (regardless of that not being ideal for double coated dogs) because of how matted he was in spots. They didn't need to! They gave him back to me happy, clean, trimmed, and with all his undercoat blown out. By far the most thorough grooming he's ever had because even a week later he's not shedding everywhere like he did even after a trip to our old groomers. I will most definitely be bringing him back for his next grooming sesh.

My two small dogs are incredibly well behaved, ESPECIALLY at the grooming salon. They've both been getting groomed professionally for 2 & 6 years. Their normal groomer just graduated from college and accepted a job in her field and my dogs needed some TLC ASAP. Kenzie's had same day availability and now I understand why. I dropped my dogs off at about 11:15 am and received a call at 1 pm that they were ready--THE fastest groom I have ever witnessed. I picked them up and was stunned. After getting them home, I realized they were still dirty. My dog gets anxious and poops when he's in new places--there was still poop on his butt & tail from when I dropped them off less than 2 hours earlier. I immediately sent photos and videos to my long-time groomer and she assumed I groomed them myself. She was SHOCKED to hear that I paid for these services and started noticing that they didn't even look like they were cleaned or even. I've tried calling the salon to discuss these issues but have been unable to reach them. I'm absolutely appalled at this service and would never recommend anyone take their dogs to this establishment.

They contacted our previous vet for us to get records and even patiently waited when "put on hold" to get further details about previous treatments. All questions were kindly answered, our input was welcomed, and we were included in all of the treatment (drawing blood, administering fluids...). Just a couple of hours after the appointment, we were emailed a detailed (4 pages) document, recording all that transpired during the visit. Anyway, I found this company through a link on local dog meetup group in Dayton. It said they were offering 50% off for new customers, but it also said I had to contact someone in particular using an email that wasn't from this business. I found that a bit suspicious and just called them directly. The owner did not know about that special, but she did honor the first time customer discount. Kudos! I expressed to her that I am very picky about my dog's grooming. She seemed understanding and told me they groom a lot of poodles. Good! When I got there, I was almost immediately greeted by someone who had paperwork for me and held my dog while I competed it. The groomer was across the room grooming another dog and was also asking me how I wanted my poodle groomed. What happened?! I think I was transported into poodle grooming heaven. What?! A place that seems to care and is running efficiently and is willing to honor a discount! OMG! Okay...when is the shoe going to drop? I left my poodle in their care. I came back approximately 2.5 hours later. My poodle was completed and the cut was done well. Thank you so much! I appreciate a business that actually follows thru, especially with a family member. I also like the location because the Dorothy Lane Kroger's is across the street. So, I can do my grocery shopping & get gas...all while the dog is getting groomed! Love it! BTW, they have do it yourself dog bathing or you can have them do it. The only criticism I have is that I had asked for no perfumes/colognes of any kind; I stated that and wrote it down on the form. My poodle had some kind of powder (?) that had a smell I didn't care for. It was the usual stuff that a lot of groomers use. I will be sure to stress that preference next time. I said the prior owner never charged extra, was was informed that she is no longer the owner and, their words, the TORCHURE they would put my pups through costs extra. WHAT? I suggested they cut the mats close and a few weeks later we could groom them as normal. They refused and told me to pay the extra amount or come pick them up. Well, I don't pay the normal amount and expect them to be TORCHURED much less pay more for that. I picked them up. . Please, if your dogs are anxious about going there, maybe they aren't being taken care of the way they should. If I could rate less than a 1 I would.
