Decided to get some mature cat dry food to add to his cats's meals. So many choices to select from. I read the nutrition labels and felt through the packaging for the size of the pellets. One of his cats does not have all her teeth anymore so we wanted to be sure that she could eat the food as well. They have a selection of broth to put over the food for more flavor. And a variety of wet food as well. I like looking at the different animals in the store. Cute hamsters and Guinea pigs. Colorful birds and cool reptiles. And the adoption center is my favorite as there are too many displaced animals out there. The associate was friendly and quickly checked us out. I took my dog there for a grooming appointment and they sent him home half done. They stared he had an open wound, however the technician said they did not feel it was open and neither did the vet at Banfield. However, the manager instructed the technician to stop grooming because they felt it was an open wound (they were even the ones to speak to the vet at Banfield). She even then proceeded to recommend a vet grooming. To where they would sedate him.. terrible. One of the employees even recommended I find a new groomer. read more

Had an appoint scheduled for two Dogs. We got the automated reminder that our appointment was at 2:30. Well that was for the second dog so we missed the first and the groomer went home. When we expressed our disappointment the dog groomer at the counter shrugged her shoulders and laughed about. Our dogs are 22 years old and have never been groomed anywhere else until now. Rude employees. When I was gonna ask if they sell catfish they cut me off and said we don't sell fish after 8, it was 8:05. Doesn't say anywhere that they stop selling fish at 8. Drove 40 mins for them to be rude and tell me they can't put a fish in a bag and fill it with air. So I bought my other fish products and the lady checking us out was also super rude. I asked if they had it posted anywhere that they stop selling at 8. They replied with "it's been the same at every store I've worked at" in a very rude tone. No appologies, didnt offer to fix it and they tried telling me they called and left voicemail....NOPE, no voicemail or email telling me i needed to reschedule. Clyde is a terrier mix and his fur was quite matted, but Candace knew exactly lwhat to do and now Clyde is looking good for summer. We've been getting our schnauzers groomed here for a few years and it has been really good for the most part. Lately the customer service has gone down hill. Our dog peed and the employees were super rude about it and wouldn't help us. It took a while to find an employee help us. Then in the grooming we were 10 minutes late because of unknown construction. the lady yelled at us saying they wouldn't take them after 15 minutes, which it hadn't even been. We left because she was so incredibly rude. Petco is definitely going to be our next option. read more

I was recently here at this Petsmart and while I personally find Castlerock a difficult town to navigate through and very prone to getting lost on the roads this store was relatively easy to get to. The store was brightly lit and clean unlike some of the other Petsmart stores that I have been to in the past. We managed to get in and out when buying supplies for our new puppy, a Chihuahua named Brazil. Again unlike before where there is often a long line and one cashier and the wait does not go by quickly. read more

For a big box store, this one is fine. I used to spend a lot of time here, and have some first-hand experience with how the management and staff are constantly changing. The management was pretty terrible, but most of the associates are friendly and helpful. The fish department was really struggling with keeping their tanks clean and their stock alive. The grooming salon never quite recovered from the incident in which a yorkie died there several years ago, but it's just as well because the place is too small to accommodate much more business anyway. You'll get exactly what you expect from a disinterested chain store when you come here. The sales on aquariums can be very good around the holidays, though, and they are one if the store's best features. If I had a dog, I probably wouldn't bring it to this salon. The ladies who do the grooming are pretty catty to one another and to the customers. They treat the animals like tasks to be accomplished rather than living things. The salon's equipment is aging and breaking. Supplies are short. It is a very fast-food approach to animal care. While the prices are competitive, you'd be better off going to Wag n Wash for a higher quality experience. read more

The GOOD: staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, responsive, and helpful. I have no experience with the groomers, so cannot speak to that fact. Store appears to be clean and well stocked. I use petsmart for all of my reptile supplies, I have a blue tongue skink, crested gecko, and bearded dragon. The only thing I can't get there is Pangea or Repashy for my gecko. They have started carrying a brand called "Thrive" which I absolutely love. All this being said, please never ever buy a reptile (or any other animal) from petsmart, they are typically kept in small enclosures without proper care. Also avoid taking their husbandry advice too seriously, I once had an employee here tell me "crested geckos are so cute when they close their eyes." Incase you were unaware, cresties don't have eyelids. Overall, pretty good for supplies, but please do not buy animals here, they get them from mass breeders who don't care about the animal's well being. read more

I made an appointment for my dog. When I walked in all the staff just looked and had attitudes. I said I have an appointment with Kaleigh and she was already grooming another dog. She walked over and was looking at the computer for a while and said yeah I made an agreement with your husband that I would only do it Mon- Thursday. I could not believe this. I asked her do you not want to do his hair? She said he wiggles and moves a lot and takes so much time so I cannot do it on a weekend. Discrimination if you ask me. Can you believe this? I always gave her a nice tip too. I let the manager know about this situation that he just lost a customer for life. read more

I made an appointment online but then called them to get a feel for the expertise of their groomers I felt confident going in After talking to them however I was totally shocked when I picked her up it was the worst haircut she has ever gotten and she's nine years old. You couldn't even tell what breed she is. Before I went in to pick her up I visited the restrooms and was shocked at the deplorable condition. the handles on the toilets were broken so the toilets hadn't been flushed it was disgusting I left without using the restrooms picked up my dog And left as quickly as I could. I am not much of a person to complain but I have never been treated as bad as I was at this place. We just moved here a couple months ago from Michigan and we of course brought our dogs with. After we made the appointment to get their fur cut we brought our dogs in and showed them our vaccination records. The lady that was checking us in was just rude! She didn't read the records right and when we asked her if it was the date on the bottom she told that she didn't know and that we would have to ask someone else. Then simply walked away with us standing there. I called our vet from Michigan right away and they told us that the date on the bottom was the correct one. Head to Wag n Wash across the street for grooming. Took my Bulldog into PetSmart for a simple nail trim and file because the groomer at WNW had already left for the night. I paid $19 for a trim and grind on her nails ($4 MORE than WNW), and when I picked her up 15 mins later, it looked like nothing had even been done. I'll be heading back tomorrow for a refund so I can have her nails done right. Gave 2 stars because the girls at the front were sweet and personable. read more

The dog grooming service is beyond terrible. My mom is very sick with cancer and her little Maltese been by her side through the whole process. So I took my moms dog to go get groomed to surprise her and the ladies were very rude and would not accept her because her fur was a little matted. I explained the situation and pleaded with them to groom her and they just turned their nose and would not give me the time of day. They are a bunch of crabby bitches and no one should bring their pets here. The past two times I went there to get my Brittany spaniel groomed, the groomers did an absolutely horrendous job. After specifying in his chart to leave his ears and tail alone, they were completely butchered. We made an appointment and were told that it would be a four hour wait after we got there. Four and a half hours later I was finally called to pick my dog up, and his cut was a complete hack job. I would recommend going to a mom and pop shop somewhere that pays attention to your dog and has better service. I'll never go back. read more

I left today thinking everything was fine, gave a generous tip and lots of graditude. In the parking lot a woman met me letting me know they treated my puppy aggressively, trying to force a bow on her head. The woman even complained to a manager on our behalf due to what she saw. This of course was not shared with me. I contacted the groomer who pushed it off asking me if I needed a manager over and over. My schnauzer is a puppy. We have brought her to their grooming salon several times and were lucky those previous times to have a compassionate, kind groomer. It is unfortunate that they hired staff who would hurt an animal, refuse accountability and push off complaints. Please go somewhere else. Even if you think everything is fine, they have a reputation for treating dogs terribly that continues to cloud them no matter who they hire. read more

4 years ago ai left this clinic because I had a diabetic dog and they wanted a test for every question I asked. I grew weary of the cost of care and the lack of seasoned experience of the veterinarians. I switched to a private local vet clinic and was by satisfied with his ability to give me information about my pets condition without an expensive test before every answer. Recently in the last year, I have returned to this clinic because I now have a younger, healthier pet and travel between two states so I needed to have a vet with the same policies and shot records on my dog. I have been pleased with the service this time around. It seems they have more experienced veterinarians now and they don't have to hide behind long lists of testing recommendations from lack of experience. I can now give them 4 stars without hesitation. read more

He made me feel uncomfortable in a store that has been my go to pet store for 6 years. I don't know how long this guy has been a store manager but he should really reconsider that profession and go back to flipping burgers since he obviously can't handle leading the store. Thankfully the store has fantastic assistant managers and associates. Especially the ladies that take care of the animals.
